29 yo Feyenoord striker Imers (think that's how you spell it) is on the radar. Currently on loan at Cardiff amd just so happens Macparland was down watching Fulham v cardiff game at weekend. don't know too much about this guy but think I read this on the Ibrox Loyal page. Would add top flight experience but again I don't know enough about the boy to further comment. Anyone else know much about him?

Ger88

1.) 11 Apr 2016 14:13:40
hes still in contract with feyenoord until summer 2017.

2.) 11 Apr 2016 14:46:09
Even with a year left i'd imagine he'd conmand a swven figure fee then Suggs? Could probably find cheaper better suited alternatives elsewhere.

3.) 11 Apr 2016 18:20:54
Cardiff were ready to bid £4.5m for this guy about a year ago.

All I see is Holt and Halliday ae championship players. We are second in the league with those two in our centrAl midfield they are clearly above Championship level just not Rangers level so give yourselves a shake and be realistic.

Ger88

1.) 09 Jan 2017 07:09:42
We drop to 3rd if Aberdeen win their game in hand though.

2.) 09 Jan 2017 08:28:58
Exactly ger, name another midfielder in Scotland outwith Celtic you would rather have? Kenny mclean? Andy Halliday might no be as good as brown but he is certainly a good player and the people who feel the need to slate Jason Holt probably have never watched him play.

3.) 09 Jan 2017 08:36:40
I really like wee holt, he gives his all, so does Halliday, but the latters form has dipped

4.) 09 Jan 2017 10:21:31
What has Holt actually achieved on the pitch this season?

5.) 09 Jan 2017 13:03:28
holt aqhcieved on the pitch?
what kind of question is that he has achieved the same as the rest of the rangers players!
ande let's be fair to the boy his workrate is brilliant but for me lacks a wee bit of finess/ quality.
but I could say that qabout most of the team .

I will say that these players are doing a great job as we are second which is better than what I thought we would be

6.) 09 Jan 2017 13:16:37
Unfortunately Holt's all is not enough. He lacks quality but he is young and might develop with the correct coaching. As for Halliday I am not convince he gives his all in every game. He is poor in the tackle, generally his passes are a tad short that puts the receiving player at risk and most of his passing is sideways and backwards. As I have said previously, he lacks guile and his reading of the game is not very good. He is at best a Championship player and we should be looking for better players in our starting eleven.

7.) 09 Jan 2017 14:04:49
Holt would walk into any team in the league outwith Celtic. So how is he championship at best? Ridiculous.

8.) 10 Jan 2017 00:27:32
Clearly wouldn't when he was deemed not good enough for hearts mate

Saw someone say we are only 2 or 3 players away from being a force. Okay. forgetting Miller is 37 and Hill 38 I think we are still some way behind that lot. Today was imo only a slight improvement. Mckay was superb Windass was showing some class with his passing Hill and Fod done well. Halliday couldn't pass the parcel and again complete indeciveness in the final 3rd cost us. When I say slight improvement it's because even though this was slightly easier to watch we were still miles behind them in terms of attempts/ possession etc. We need a whole new spine.

1.) 31 Dec 2016 18:33:58
We lack real quality and even though Sinclair would be a mediocre EPL player he is quality in this league. That said he looked good today because he was up against nothing down that flank and Tavernier's ineffectiveness defensively added to Halliday's total inability put our central defence under immense pressure.

McKay was arguably the best player on the park and Windass showed signs that he will come good. Garner looked like he could cause them problems with his robust style of play but Waghorn offered nothing when he came on and Holt will not be any better than he is and that is not good enough. Hill and Miller both showed quality but they can't go on for ever and we have no one in reserve to take their positions. With better defensive coaching I have to believe that both Wilson and Kiernan would improve; perhaps Hill should be given that role!

We need investment, we are crying out for two quality midfield players and we cannot sit back and hope that Rossiter, Crooks and Krancjar will come back injury free and staff fit! We also need quality replacements for Miller and Hill and if we are to play with wing backs then we need at least one quality player for this role. We also need to find a captain because we lack a leader on the park!

2.) 31 Dec 2016 19:07:23
TOMUSA, Scott Sinclair is a class player, your poor players do not have any bearing on that. He makes himself look good because he is good. Your players are poor because they are just poor. Sour grapes to just have a pop at him like that. he's been at Big teams for a reason. Mckay was maybe your best player on the park but not overall. That was Scott Sinclair, as was chosen.

3.) 31 Dec 2016 19:27:45
TBH I thought Stuart Armstrong was MOM, slightly edging WF.

4.) 31 Dec 2016 20:05:08
I would have given MOM to Foderingham, easily his best display in the nets this season.

5.) 31 Dec 2016 20:44:33
Fods was MOM in my opinion, he had a very good game.

6.) 31 Dec 2016 20:58:51
Defo a toss between mckay and sinclair and sinclair edges it for getting the winner. hate to say but if any of u guys read my posts at halftime i said either mckay or sinclair would b the matchwinner.

7.) 31 Dec 2016 21:56:22
Listen mate its a bad day when Izzaguirre is beating Tav for pace from a stand still position, says enough. So I wouldn't sing the high praises of Sinclair too much. Big clubs? He only went to Man City due to the home grown rule and couldn't get a seat on the bench then struggled to make an impact in a poor Villa side. Just being realistic mate he is being made to look better than he is because of the lack of quality up here. Simple.

8.) 31 Dec 2016 22:37:58
Yes Ger88, Sinclair was struggling down south, but Brendan saw his potential at Swansea and brought him to Celtic where he has turned out great displays game after game . Celtics formed dipped a little when he was injured but so glad we have him . . Was worried today when you took the lead but like the St Johnstone game your heads dropped when we got the equaliser . Young Mc Kay your best player . Happy New Year to you all .

9.) 01 Jan 2017 01:08:26
Doesnt say much for the rest of your team when you think your keeper was MOM. Incidentally, he didn't get that award anyway. lol HH.

29 Dec 2016 06:53:06
Saw it mentioned on here before but with Middlesborough lining up a move for Villas Gestede in Jan (BBC sport) surely then we could at least put the feelers out for a loan move for Rhodes? The guy won't be on mega money we could cut a deal with his parent club and the boy will be desperate for some first team football. We could and have been linked with a lot worse. I know it's a long shot but this is the kind of player we need to look at not league 1 and 2 we are Glasgow Rangers for goodness sake.

Ger88

1.) 29 Dec 2016 07:46:19
I reckon he'll be on good money mate, did he he not just move for about 12 million, think he'll stay in the the champ plenty of teams will be sniffing about,

2.) 29 Dec 2016 08:28:11
He moved for a out that last Jan I believe. But since they brought in Negredo and after his injury he has Barely got gametime. He will be on a decent wage probably over 25k but no harm in finding out if Boro would be open to us paying say 50% of that.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 08:50:01
Hes on mega dosh lads, 40k i believe, when we sounded him out in summer he came with a list of demands ( automatic starter, plays all champ league games etc) sounds like he's turned into a bit of a diva, not doubting his talents tho, good player.

4.) 29 Dec 2016 10:43:40
Doesn't matter who we sign,1 striker on his own isn't working, only once in the league we have scored more than 2 all season.

5.) 29 Dec 2016 17:50:36
Averaging 1.35 goals scored per game, how bad is that?

6.) 30 Dec 2016 11:08:27
I agree with Mr Bassy. We need a change in tactics! Two up front and two new midfield players that can improve the team!

27 Dec 2016 21:39:38
A lot of fellow bears posting starting Xi for the old firm game. Interesting reading however my 2 cents are when we knocked them out of the cup in Feb it was because we flooded the midfield and out numbered them in crucial areas of the park. We lost the first goal to defensive frailties which would suggest to me Hill in for Wilson or Kiernan (even though I have been impressed with recent Kiernan displays recently) . Hill is more of a ball winner than the other 2. Apart from that I'd look to flood the middle and have a bit of bite in attack.
My starting Xi if all fit would be:
Foderingham

Hodson/ Tav Kiernan Wilson Wallace/ Hodson

Holt Halliday Windass
Waggy Mckay
MIlley

Almost a 4-5-1 in defence and 4-3-3 in attack.
Would bring Garner on in second half to rough up and win balls in the air against their fatigued defenders just feel on the ground Kenny could link up a bit better.
Just my thoughts lads either way let's get St. Johnstone out the way and then get behind the famous Glasgow Rangers.

Our start to the season is even worse than LeGuens. yes that puts the fear of god in me however remember bears Holt is back Waggy is back Windass is starting to show sharpness and Crooks hasn't started a game yet so as far as I'm aware Warbs hasn't yet had the chance to select his best team. When we start to put it together I'm sure we will slowly climb up the league. Am away trip to Aberdeen next week looks daunting but let's get behind the team.

Ger88

1.) 18 Sep 2016 15:44:01
Remember our circumstances are totally different from thee guen reign

Yes we should be doing better but we need to be realistic and not hit all the panic stations 6 league games in. Judge in May.

2.) 18 Sep 2016 15:47:58
Fair point, some potentially good players and Rossiter will hopefully soon be back from injury. Unfortunately I don't think that matters will change until we have a captain that can lead by example, that can motivate the players around them and when necessary 'kick ass' on the playing field. Unfortunately Wallace is just not a leader. He deserves considerable respect for staying with the Club during our difficulties but he just isn't a leader and he is struggling with his game now that we are back in the SPL. It will be interesting to see what happens with Barton, while he has been poor I find it difficult to be critical of his comments and those that are living on their past successes a minor league last season need to take a good look at themselves. Personally I am disappointed that action was not also taken against Halliday who appears to be the one that didn't like being told he was crap. Halliday is an ok football player but he is not in the class that Barton can be if he plays the way he did last season when he captained his former club to promotion to the EPL.

3.) 18 Sep 2016 15:53:54
People keep saying calm down this is a long term project, we all expected to be challenging for the title this season, this is because of statements made from personnel, now it's 6 games in and it's fine to draw at home to Ross county! Shockin from Rangers fans accepting this. How long should we give it to change Celtic all ready won 6 in a row, so if your happy to wait another 4/ 5 years be my guest!

4.) 18 Sep 2016 16:58:10
I think the reality is the money men in Rangers need the league for extra revenue to be honest.

5.) 18 Sep 2016 17:33:39
The problem is that King with his bull has given the fans hope of a team that would challenge for the SPL Title. He has talked about front ending funds, spending the children 'inheritance and various other comments that I doubt he had any intention of doing! (either because he doesn't have the money or because he is not stupid enough to waste money in the Scottish League where there is no chance of a return on your capital.

In any event he has, by his words, given the fans a false hope and he needs to find a way of correcting matters before it is too late.

When Lawrence Marlborough inherited the Club from his Grandfather he had a blueprint for success. He made a bold appointment in Souness and he found investment to implement his strategy. If there is a blueprint today then King needs to follow that lead and find the investment to take Rangers forward. Too many of the current players are not good enough to do that and need to be replaced with quality, not quantity.

At 33 he still has a couple good years in him our midfield I's quite young we could do with a guy of his experience how if offered could we turn down the chance to sign a guy that has 109 caps for Holland? A bit of experience and leadership in midfield isn't a bad thing.

Verdict is still out on Garner for me. Aye he puts himself about but for his wages I'd do the same and save the club a £1.8 million fee.

Take a leaf out of big ecks book when he turned Lovenkrands into an out and out striker in season 05/ 06. He was arguably our best player thay season and pulled us out of holes. Remember a game at Ibrox against Falkirk that December he was scoring so many goals his confidence was through the roof taking pens and free kicks.
Sorry to preach, basically it's worth a shot haha.

Well said Rutherglen.
If there are young players that are currently good enough to blood in then brilliant but the management team clearly doesn't think this is the case so let it slide.
