Does anyone recall David Murray trying to buy man city when they were in the lower reaches of English football when ENIC were involved but it didn't go through as ENIC had invested 40 million in the Gers and also had league interests in various other euro clubs I remember reading that David Murray was trying to buy man city and then eventually get rangers to take their place in English football but think I honestly might have imagined this but sure I read it somewhere in the very late 90's if anyone else heard this can they let me know so that I know I'm not going insane as I can't find anything anywhere online about this.
P's. If it's true ''oh where we could have been now'' although still picking up bad results in europe.

There were a number of possibilities mooted, Man City went through bad times and were suggested, but it was never a realistic possibility and the idea was dropped. Looking back on it now, I should have realised Rangers were in trouble financially when they never even considered buying into Darlington when they hit the skids. If they were in a position of financial strength, buying them, a team that ended up going out of existence instead, who had a brand new stadium, would have been a good way of slowly testing out the idea. Turning them into a feeder team would have been the first step along the road to getting Rangers into the English league. They were in the north and had a weak fanbase that was badly divided over everything. They would have been the ideal candidate.}

Nick Clarke should be rangers first choice forward and Kenny Miller should me rangers forwards coach and part time striker if needed. I've watched us various times thus season both in the flesh and on TV and also watched other games and think I know exactly who we need to get rid of bring back from loan and also sign (within our small budget) and if ally can't see this he must be blind wearing sleeping eye patches with very dark sunglasses on top and the best ear muffs in the world.

I am sick to my stomach with this thing that used to be the mighty Glasgow rangers please get Steve Clarke and Ian Ferguson in as quick as possible to sort the rabble of bodies out before we are really embarrassed by them across town in January like seriously does McCoist not realise that the wee 9 year old guy who applied for the bolton wanderers job would do better at least he shows passion for his club.
Please this can't go on anymore.

McCoist is a clown he's just adversely affected Lewis international career mabey so that he wouldn't have got on to the pitch but still good for him to be involved with the squad as he'll have a decent international career would McCoist have been happy at his gaffer pulling him out of a scotland squad? I was always willing to give McCoist a break due to his history with the club rangers are bigger than one man and if anyone is going to say would I accept a defeat tomorrow then tbh I would as you learn as much from a man in defeat as you do in victory although and I hate to say this McCoist learns nothing in victory of defeat.
p's brilliant result for Scotland tonight.
1.) TBear, Probably not the end of the world for young Lewis, but the points you make are totally valid. You also summed up McC. , he is only interested in numero uno.
2.) What utter nonsense, did you think Lewis was going to walk into the Scotland team for tonight's game, doh he was brought in to experience the Scotland set up which he no doubt will be a part of in the future, now he can play with us tomorrow then go back with the squad and be part of the build up to the England game, he might even get some time on the park

He's called up for the scotland squad he should have remained there!!ive never heard of a player being loaned back to his club to play not saying it doesn't happen I've just never heard of it am sure we could have beaten Alloa without Lewis but obviously ally doesn't!!dont say much for the rest of our squad if we can't find another player to fill in for 1 match!!
4.) OP did you read your post back before pressing send? You would accept a defeat at home to Alloa to learn something about our manager ? That's the daftest post on here. Macleod was NEVER going to play any part last night so he will play for his team today then go back to the Scotland squad to prepare for a game which he could any maybe even should figure and that would perhaps tell us a bit about starchan and his intentions but Lewises international career is just beginning that much is certain.
5.) Playing today could be the best thing for Lewis, we all know he is level headed and grounded but playing for his club as soon as possible after being part of a Scotland squad will only help keep him grounded and this is his bread n butter, what he lives for. He can then prepare for a big challenge match against England where he might get game time.

10.) N3ryan I have always wondered if this is why lee Wallace never got a second shout as the same thing happened ie scotland manager was asked to release Wallace from the squad, so as he could play for us

Willie I've thought Stevie Clarke would be the ideal manager for us I even said it the other night him with Ian Ferguson as his assistant because I think Fergie would give these under performing players a right good kick up the arse and instill some fire and what it means to play for Rangers as he was never found hiding when he was a player and tbh years ago I thought Durrant would have made an excellent coach but looks like I was wrong on that count mate but totally agree Stevie Clarke and Fergie as the new team to lead us.
1.) Steve Clarke come on we have no money what manager will take the job there is no transfer budget the last player we paid any money for was Templeton the rest are free transfers that is what were seeing these players are not good enough you need special players to play for the Old Firm some can handle the Pressure but players like that you don't get for nothing look at our team I would keep maybe five or six at a push so there will be no new manager i'm not convinced on McCoist but I also think free transfers has got us here no scouting system hence the boyds Millars blacks smiths etc players we we have no young players who are top class and money has been squandered by our board lining their pockets so we are where we are but no new manager will be here in the near future
I totally agree pal but only yesterday on this same site I was more or less accused of being a trator just be caused I said my piece about McCoist and mccleod and that I'd have been happy to take a draw of defeat today this is not even the rangers spirit of the worst times in es past never mind the rangers spirit of the club I grew up supporting not even a shadow of it and McCoist is a major part of the problem
No chance of winning convincingly tonight or at all after that first half I'm absolutely disgusted
