I see there's a very good discussion about should murty be the Rangers manager next season. My personal opinion I think he's a good coach but not quite ready to take the post full time but I also believe if he beats that lot in the semi final there's a chance the board will appoint him full time. What the board needs to do is beg Walter Smith to come back with murty as his number 2 then and only then I think we will have a chance of stopping this quest for " tainted" 10 in a row!

29 Mar 2018 22:45:38
I don't think it has to be Walter. He's had his time what we need is someone who has the presence of Walter Smith. Yes I believe the players respect murty and try for him but I don't believe they fear him. You have heard all the older players say Walter had that and if murty could add that to his game then he would be the man.

29 Mar 2018 23:23:21
Smith won’t be the next Rangers Manager

30 Mar 2018 06:23:17
CFBear. Completely agree with you. I’ve said this previously that we need a manager with experience and an aura about him. Someone the players will both admire and respect and strive to be better for him.
I’m not saying Murty doesn’t have respect from the players and we certainly don’t know what kind of voice he has behind close doors but I just get the feeling the players aren’t ‘scared’ of him enough.

30 Mar 2018 09:13:02
BathgateBear, who is your choice then or do we go and pick another Pedro? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

30 Mar 2018 10:52:18
Yately1 I haven’t got a clue who we should be trying to entice for the job. I do think we need to allow someone time but unfortunately it isn’t a luxury afforded to a Rangers manager.
I genuinely think the players need a leader to manage them which hopefully will create more dynamic leadership on the park.

30 Mar 2018 11:47:25
The manager next year will be murty whether we like it or not the funds are just not there for any big names and to be fair the dof and murty are doing a good job of strengthening the team on a shoestring budget give murty 2 more windows and we will be challenging for the top and murty must learn from his mistakes.

30 Mar 2018 12:56:33
To the OP, if it is a tainted 10 then why the fuss to stop it, surely it's irrelevant if it's tainted?

30 Mar 2018 13:26:44
Come on kaney, you no it’s TAINTED🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

30 Mar 2018 16:00:10
I think discussion over Murty as 'coach' is the definitive word because I think he could succeed as a coach under a proper, strategically minded manager. I loved Murty dealings in the transfer window and his affectation with the team, but that's still nil points and it's points building, which most people would see as the most important question.

29 Mar 2018 20:56:51
I'm a tad concerned no one is being linked with the managers job.

I'm a realist and this is very unrealistic but if I had my way the only guy I would want who isn't with a club at the moment is Guus Hiddick . Proven at the highest level, without a club and had a lot of success in his homeland which I think is a similar type of game to ours .

29 Mar 2018 21:32:56
That is a fantastic thought, AnotherBear! Guus hiddink would be an absolutely outstanding choice, as the new rangers manager mate! I'm all for graeme murty getting the rangers manager's job, beyond this season but what a statement to the other side of the city, if we could secure a manager of guss hiddink's outstanding credentials! It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, at the thought of hiddink becoming our manager! We can but dream my friend!

29 Mar 2018 21:36:11
I suppose no one has been linked because we have a manager and the linking will start if and when we don’t.

29 Mar 2018 22:09:05
AnotherBear, Hiddink a great Manager in his day but I can’t see a 73 year old man taking the Gers job? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Like you say there is nobody out there and we will be stuck with Murty?!

29 Mar 2018 23:53:53
Guss Hiddick. I’m honestly lost for words.

30 Mar 2018 02:00:39
Only my opinion but I think most of us can agree that Murty is a trier but totally under qualified for the Rangers managers job and not sure his reappointment as manager beyond the rest of the season would sell season tickets .

Hollow what makes you lost for words? Surely any football man with half a thought in there head would love the Glasgow Rangers job no?

30 Mar 2018 07:34:24
Is it not a coach we are after? a lot of managers won't want dof.

30 Mar 2018 09:19:05
AnotherBear, As a club we used to be a massive pull to get a Manager but not anymore and I reckon a lot is to do with the board, DOF and the obvious no cash? Even McInnes was offered the position and nocked it back to stay up in a tin pot job?
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

29 Mar 2018 15:34:54
I for one would like 2 see murty getting the job for another couple of transfer windows at least. He has had one window and added four good addition to the squad.

Its my option that this current squad are on a par with the unclean pre brenda and as such i feel that 3 or 4 quality signings a centre back right back attacking midfielder and a striker valued at least 2million each would see us really providing a challenge to them next season.
I feel there will be money avail season tickets new shirt sponser hopefully a good euro run (at least group stages)
Freeing up some of the cash from the dead wood that we are carrying at least 6 players shipped out should take care of the loan signing becoming perm deals.

29 Mar 2018 17:50:32
I am not a very knowledgeable fan, I don't get too involved in line ups or tactics. I do like to be entertained and excited by the football my team is playing and under Murty i have loved the way we played , even the loss against the darkside, the first half was brilliant. Kilmarnock a big disappointment. that's 1 game out of about 10 so I'm happy with Murty so far.

29 Mar 2018 23:44:14
If murty wins the cup and secures 2nd comfortably with good home performances then he's got the job home form has destroyed our season if he can turn ibrox into the fortress it used to be and we are title contenders.

29 Mar 2018 15:36:30
Watched the 21 yo McKenna play for Scotland and looks a lad who could do a job for us.

Not seen him play loads, but has something about him.

29 Mar 2018 19:57:37
Totally agree Tommy. Thankfully that Warbs idiot has disappeared. To be fair, he was right about MOH though 😂
