Have to agree but we've no idea how danilo will be after a serious injury and he. ll need a few months to get up to speed dessers ain't good enough we all saw that last season so uts a concern if we don't get another striker some1 who. ll give us a chance of scoring the goals we need.

Does not score enough in what isn't a tough league but have seen he can also play the wings so maybe someone we are just looking to mature and retrain as a winger and sell on. Not a high fee so doubt this actually cancels us buying an out and out striker imo.

He looks to have that pace, strength, and direct running, that really excites. He seems to be a really strong runner. Playing him on the left with a few to coming inside is something I could see happening.

Dado sima had his two best years playing wide and when he failed he played as a striker it’s not rocket science to work out his best position. He wouldn’t have played up top instead of dessers.

Why do people keep saying our strikers can play wide. Danilo is a central striker, Beale pushed him wide and he was like a fish out of water. We heard the same when we signed Silva and yes we did play him there but anyone could see that he was not a wide player, a fact he confirmed when he left by saying he hadn`t played there before. There are guys like Sterling who can play various positions but most of the time we should be buying guys to play where they always play . If we want a winger buy a winger.

Hamza Igamane - get the deal done - it's a steal at that price, lad will be worth a packet in a 2-3 seasons, Koppens know the morrocan league well, he picked Saibari the PSV lad who killed off our Champs league group stage chances for a measly 25k - now worth 16 million and rising.
Igamane is currently rated as 7th best U23 striker in the world.
would run right over CCV blindfolded.
Hesitate at that price and our loss will be a huge gain for another team.

Simas main 2 positions are 1st RW and 2nd CF, lastly LW.
He was only played on the LW due to us having no natural LW's other than the always injured Lawrence, Matondo is also a natural RW, again used as a LW due to our shortage of LW's.
Kent was our last natural fit LW.

There seems to be a fundamental lack of understanding when t comes to the way a modern front three play. They do not have fixed positions. Sima’s starting position was the left, but he would be told to come in through the centre. The center forward is told to run the channels (and they can become the LW) . The front free must be able to interchange meaning the opposition cannot man mark.
Colak was a mistake because he cannot do this. Any poacher type striker would be a mistake because they cannot perform this function. The striker must be able to drop deep, run channels, link play, etc. the wide attackers must be able to in charge with the striker and be just as effective in front of goal.
Rangers cannot afford someone who specialises playing in the half space there. So what we have been doing is buying a wide player, or buying a striker, and trying to mould them in to such a player. This is exactly what we did with Lammers. Doesn't always work but we don’t have the money to find a wide attacker scoring 16 a season like Sima just did - Sima is exactly the type of player we have been looking for since the lower leagues but can’t find them. Kent had more tricks but no end product, guys like Sima and Abada are all end product.

There was a lad on a Rangers podcast that knows this player, and a little about Scottish football. He describes this player as being like Alfredo Morelos. Not tallest, not the fastest, but he is strong, and can hold defenders off. He has played on wing and up top as the striker.

@Storm - What’s nonsense? The fact teams with three forwards switching positions is there to prevent man marking systems? It’s not. It is the entire principle behind these systems. The left winger must become the central striker, the central needs to rotate with them in to wide areas, etc. Not only that, but the CF drops deep enough to be playing in midfield while people go beyond him. Alfredo Morelos was top class at this especially when it came to linking play.
Sima does play left wing. However, it would be more accurate to describe that as his starting position as he is only ever coming inside. The full-back can follow, but then the full-backs overlap in to the space in the wide areas to create overloads, etc.
Positions aren’t static.
