Said before, that my preference would be Harry Souttar (to help the Euro squad out a bit) but I appreciate that might be unfeasible. Cooper would appear a good second choice though. While I like Souttar, I think he does his best work coming out from the back line, and we may not have conceded the second goal last night if we had a more dominant/ physical CB in.

Jake Cooper is being signed for his height and ability in aerial duels, that’s it. I guess he’d be the type you’d play away to a Killie or an Aberdeen if teams are just going to play direct. Concerning signing tho, as it doesn’t actually improve our 11. He’s not a better defender than Souttar or Goldson.
Hopefully Beale is working on a winger/ inside forward to come in too. After the rebirth of Matondo, maybe, it’s a winger for the right that we need. Sima might get you the odd goal, but his all round play is very low in terms of quality.

For me the emergence of Matondo means we may not need to go for a left winger, in fact I wouldn’t. Only bloating the squad and complicating selection headaches.
I’d focus on centre back and replacement for lunny. I’d still give serious thought to shankland for these scrappy domestic games and he’s a free hit in Europe as he’s homegrown.

No way anyone can blame Souttar for PSVs second goal. The attacker came right through the back of him while he was in the air.
Souttar got booked later in the game when the attacker jumped backwards into him too so no idea what the refs are calling these days. Souttar has been very good for us.

I understand that Beale56, but you can see how rough and awkward he is when he plays football. Doesn’t really have great composure. I do think he’s effective and will score goals, but personally I’m looking for an all round type of winger. One who has composure, pace, touch, flair, good in 1v1 situations and gets numbers. Dare I say it, similar to Jota, what that lot had across the city.

I think Souttar meets home trained rule threw his time at Dundee Utd at required age and length of training years. Nationality isn’t the rule it’s time doesn’t between required age.

Say it again we could’ve done worse than go for Liam Lindsay or even keep Lewis mayo for euro squad. We should have a Scottish player as back up at centre half. Goldson new player backed up by Souttar balogun and 5th choice Scot covers all problems over a season at centre half. Harry Souttar would be great on loan to buy if we can agree a smaller fee but doubt we could afford him regardless.
Liam Lindsay could definitely do a job for us. Still need a 1st choice to replace Davies though. Cooper could be good.

Mayo’s been great this season in the 2 games I’ve watched him mate. I’ve never once been impressed by kning. It’s all hype imo.
I’ve never watched mayo and not been impressed.
Beale of the 5 cb’s 3 would be main. So Goldson another and Souttar. Then balogun and the Scot trained would fill the squad. Keep the 3 main ones and the other 2 can fill in.

Cooper gets turned far to easily, and dlesnt have a great deal of pace, he was all over the place against norwich in their most recent game, probably do a job for us but he's not a massive improvement on what we have, he is however an almost ever present and dlesnt pick up many injuries.

Sorry but Cooper is better than H. Soutter and anyone saying different is having themselves on. Cooper isn't just a big guy who can win the ball in the air that's literally all Harry Soutter is.
Cooper has had some of the highest progressive passing and pass rates in championship for years now whilst playing for Millwall. His biggest downside is his general pace.
I personally don't think he's better than Goldson or John but certainly more suited to our league than Davies is.

King is a banker to be loaned out, it would be some time for him to be good enough if at all . Are all our scouts concentrated on the English championship or is there an agent someone trusts down there . Got to be a left sided CB somewhere in Scandinavia, Poland, Slovakia or the region generally at sensible money, players are in the lower level 2 in England for a reason @ 28 years of age especially.
