I have seen a lot of comments about cantwell situation on Thursday. There is no two ways about this the manager was 100% correct cantwell 100% wrong. If manager took Lammers off and put cantwell there then he would be seen as a soft touch. I don’t understand anyone saying BUT lammers stayed on. Lammers didn’t not follow PC instructions cantwell did. The final straw was cantwell losing the ball and throwing his hands in the air instead of trying to win ball back and we lose the goal.

100% agree storm. Asked to carry out a role and didnt. More interested in throwin himself to ground and arguin, blamin everyone else. Kids talented but desicion makin is rotten. So many times should pass and tries to be fancy and vice versa

His stats since arrived ain't great, must be close to havin more cards than goals/ assists?

He flatter to decieve and think its why his career stalled.

Storm tbf I agree where my seat is I can see touchline to my right and I’ve always an eye on the manager and have done whoever the manager has been. PC was at Cantwell at least 15 mins beforehand telling him to hold position ( before anyone says I can’t lipread but hand gestures was clear ) and he was cutting inside. I seen PC fairly animated just before the substitution and turned to my mate and said he’ll be off soon and thought and behold he got hooked. I also said to him I don’t think they click and I believe we may see Todd leave in the summer if not January.

The damage was already done when he started Lammers at 10, he’s now backed into a corner. I agree that the manager is correct but the situation was avoidable.

If the manager now loses Cantwell (and we’ve had better and will have better again in the future) but if he loses Cantwell and the cup final then the daggers will be out.

We’re better than the conference league.

New here guys. I hear you and couldn't agree more. I said the same things in fans chat. Cantwell is not bigger than the club no matter how talented he is. He has to earn his place like everybody else.

Think situation is being blown out of proportion, has cantwell or Clement came out and said anything of a rift between any party!? As far as I'm concerned it's done with fully expect cantwell to be in squad tomorrow and to tow the line regarding his role in the team. I think we may look back on it and say that substitution has gave him a kick up the backside.

I don't think anyone needs to say anything J-zer, a blind man could see, that there's something not right between them.

The issue I have here with PC is, if he does it with Cantwell for not following instructions, he needs to do it with them all. You can't just single one player out, or that will be seen as picking on the lad.

By the way, I agree fully with everyone who said PC was right in taking him off, but it definitely looks like he has a real problem with him.

There has only been one rumoured fall out between a player and the new gaffer that has susbstance to it as far as I have been told. Dessers being told he won’t get many minutes apparently went from a discussion to a disagreement. The gaffer has told a few they will be surplus and he needs to move some on to have added funds.

That's really interesting Scotty. If this is true, it would appear that Clement is ruffling a few feathers?

The big fear I have with managers coming in a laying down the law, is the reaction he'll get from the players. Now, we know this playing squad are not the strongest, and lack heart, and stamina, and they have previous of turning against the manager (Gio), and downing tools, so can we expect a different outcome here? Remember when Le Guen came in and tried the same? That turned into a disaster.

I'm not saying he's wrong (I fully back him), and there's a good few he needs to get rid of, it's the reaction of these powder puff, prima Donna's, that worry me. If they decide to spit the dummy, and down tools, before PC has brought his own players in, then the season could be a total write off, again!

Yeah roofe a blind man could see cantwell was raging being taken off and big Phil wasnt happy camper with but that's to be fully expected they both want to win nobody wants to be hooked like that but at the end of the day you kick off have a moan about it then you knocked down and crack on. I think that will be the case I don't know either of them personally but I just feel it's all being blown out of proportion. Cantwell for the winner tomorrow hopefully and everything Is rosy again lol.

I think this is why clement trusts and likes lundstram so much, as he gives him everything and has risen to the challenge under clement and has been getting back to his best form under clement ? Clement clearly likes big lunny's attitude so much, thus why he has started him constantly, since he became rangers manager ?.

Cantwell is the new Morelos, as soon as he was seen as a potential talisman the timmy press and pundits jumped on his every move and stirred up negative stories abut him . He got all sorts of unfair bookings last season ( sound familiar) and although he has rightly been criticised this season for a couple of dives, the coverage of it was OTT, To suggest he be banned for a dive that was outside the box and not seeking to gain a penalty was ridiculous . Now we get the "rumour" that he doesn`t get on with the new boss and he wants to leave, which then starts to turn some Rangers supporters against him. Wait and see what happens, if he does push to get away then that's the time to turn on him, not now. On form he`s our best player we should be trying to get him back to that level.

Cantwell does get booked for stupid things, he does get kicked but nothing like it was 30 years ago without a booking, couldn't see him playing then seems a soft lad.

Cantwell for me is a bit of a luxury player, allowed to go and play wherever he wants. Unfortunately we are not good enough to carry that type of player, yet! And is fairly obvious he rates himself better than he actually is, imo.

Stormtrooper last season he was getting booked for nothing in games . I did say it was a bad dive but it was outside the box and even if had got something it was only a free kick . I said he was rightly criticised but to suggest he gets a 3 game ban is ridiculous . He wouldn`t have even got that if he has been sent off, dives are booking offences at worst.
