Man, ewan Cameron at the press conference. he's hurting very bad. Can you give Hearts fans assurances your not going to buy anymore of their players ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Peter and McInnes said yes.

24 Jun 2026 16:50:03
At the moment, yes. And Gillespie said he would never give assurances to any club. Just found it funny Cameron being there.

24 Jun 2026 17:19:17
He was there because he does a Saturday football show on STV radio.

24 Jun 2026 20:23:40
I like Cameron, at least he always gives you his honest opinion and he's not scared to call anything he feels needs calling out.

Hi EHL, not sure anyone went England?
Spot the connection๐Ÿ‘€

60 years ago my dad took me to Hampden for my first Scotland international, a pre-World Cup friendly against Brazil. We'd just arrived when Jim Baxter arrowed a pass to Celtic's Stevie Chalmers, who galloped off to the the Brazil goal and thumped the ball into it. Jings!
Brazil equalised about 15 minutes later, and the score stayed at 1-1 until the end of the match.

John Greig and Ron McKinnon were the other two Rangers players in the team, but the player I remember most was Billy Bremner, who clattered Pele at every opportunity.
1-1: I'll take that tonight.

Fingers crossed, Don.
1960 was a bit before my time, but here's hoping in 2026 we can replicate that result.

24 Jun 2026 21:14:31
Was at that game, Don, and remember one of Brazil's coaching team going round Hampden, chucking oranges into the crowd. Pele was kicked out of the World Cup when it started.

Less said about last night's result the better.
There's a picture here of Pele complaining to Ron McKinnon about the fouling he was taking from the Scottish players at the 1966 match.

If you look closely you'll see Billy Bremner in the background, examining the latest piece of Pele's calf that he's carved off.

Coops, I have messaged an old friend of mine on Sainsbury's re stocking Stiegl following Angus's comments last night. He has recently retired from their purchasing operations and can't guarantee a quick result if any but he will give it a go for a fellow Bear.

Jardine, can you get him to get the price lower as well. Let him know there are 2 fellow Gers fans who are asking. ๐Ÿ˜‰

24 Jun 2026 06:33:44
Nope not for me. Had his time with us moved on long ago injury prone
Don't know how far Ross has came on down south but wasn't the best footballer to begin with.
Has heart but that's it

I am not sure about him but the injury prone element isn't right. He hasn't been injured since 2024. If we aren't going to sign players with that as a criteria then not sure who we would sign.

24 Jun 2026 10:51:34
Blue, so you really don't know much about him is what you're saying, mate. He has definitely improved as a player. He had Crystal Palace interested in paying upwards of 10m last season, club trained, plays a variety of positions. I can only see McCrorie as a very handy player in our squad.

24 Jun 2026 13:30:16
I think McCrorie will pleasantly surprise a few people.

24 Jun 2026 20:00:28
Was getting bigged up down there, only seen him twice in games over last two years and was great in both games, fans seemed to love him which is usually the best sign to look for.

23 Jun 2026 23:04:01
Well England showing their true colours tonight.

Not a chance in heck they're winning the tournament

A mediocre squad full of over sized egos

Penalty against them or not? Thoughts.

24 Jun 2026 10:53:49
Fork, I think FIFA have told referees to be more lenient with contact, and I actually like that. The most frustrating thing in a game is players throwing themselves to the ground to win a foul, break up play and frustrate. You can see in this WC when they don't get out, they bounce back to their feet.

I hope it is brought into our league for the start of next season.
So, with the new directive, I don't think there was enough for it to be a pen. Although there was more than the McGinn and McTominay. The difference was the sort of lunge made it look worse, but contact wasn't huge.

24 Jun 2026 12:51:26
Definite penalty.

24 Jun 2026 14:24:04
Tbh, I thought it was a pen, Angus.

24 Jun 2026 15:20:33
Should Bellingham have been red carded for covering his mouth?

24 Jun 2026 17:24:02
Booked for the challenge and also the kerfuffle at half time, aye, he should have walked.

24 Jun 2026 17:24:35
Sorry, he should've been for both.

23 Jun 2026 21:22:20
I'll go Brazil since they're most successful country.

From my 30 years of knowledge as I'm 40yo

Taffarel, Edmilson, Gilberto Silva, Marquinhos, Denilson, Romario, Neymar, Marcelo, Lucio.

Some serious names left out there, yet I can't argue with any of your selections. I'm the same era as you and some of the teams have been incredible to watch.

24 Jun 2026 11:34:46
I would swap your midfield 2 for Dunga and Leonardo, and Romario for Pele, mate. So many to choose from though lol.

24 Jun 2026 15:38:40
I just can't pick Pele as I've never seen him play so it would be false.

However, he was initially the 9 with Romario out.

Lucio was very close ahead of Gabriel.

24 Jun 2026 16:43:56
Lucio's a great shout, Stevie, completely forgot about him as well.
