Last game today of another season we will all be glad to see finish! Just wondering if whatever John, I think, was alluding to is still going to happen after the game. Sure someone said things were in already in the pipeline for after Falkirk.
Personally I hope it starts "by mutual consent", then the debates will start all over again on who the new manager should be. Scott Parker might not be a bad shout.

How can we go from a club in crisis, to improving drastically, then back to a club in CRISIS? Or were we always a club in crisis and we just papered over some cracks.

I think we just need to get back to basics, never mind all these formations and tactics, playing people out of position. We need a proper manager playing 4.4.2, get the ball forward, 2 strikers creating a partnership. You don't get striker partnerships anymore like McCoist & Hateley, Shearer & Sutton, Yorke & Cole.

Gazza, I think we just papered over some of the cracks from what a few on here, itk, said re conditioning, gaps in squad etc. It would actually have been better if we had managed to just improve slightly the gap in points when Rohl took over. It was managing to get into a position which challenged for the title which has caused all this fallout.

Yeah, we have a severe lack of diversity in our squad. Fitness levels are chronic, and over 50% of the players have been told they are not required beyond this season.
Couple that with an extremely poor support framework beyond the core coaching team, an inexperienced core coaching team, and a group of players without any real leadership, and you get what we're seeing.

We papered over the cracks. One of the worst group of players, either technically or attitude-wise. Happy to take applause when things go well, but down tools when they aren't. With absolutely no leadership. Can Rohl change that with his own group? I hope so.

I've just read EHL's article on the pitfalls of the short term strategies that we have used and how this has hampered us. Thank you EHL.
Coupled with other contributors' posts about the state of the training ground and youth facilities and lack of national development pathways, it's clear to me that investment in the training facilities and coaching set up, including the broader set up of one-to-one coaching, nutritionists and a sports psychologist, is vital to re-establish the club as an elite force over and above wise player trading.
My reading of the current state of affairs is we appear to have a 5-star exterior and a 3-star interior in terms of our facilities.
I re-affirm that Beale and Martin aside, we have had good managers/head coaches.
I think that the structures and set up around them are what has hampered them and the team. Rohl needs a couple of good number 2s who can help him with his in-game changes and day-to-day running of the first team. This also needs to be replicated down the development teams so that we have pathways for coaching and backroom staff too.
My hope is that the new owner is aware of this and that work has begun in these areas, otherwise I fear it will be a while yet of chasing the league until April before another cliff fall.
I'm quite a positive person and every wall starts with a brick. With new owners now firmly in place let's hope we've started our wall!

Strange that its been sweep sweep and media silence when it comes to referees getting abuse from a certain club but now its reported in all media outlets when it involves someone not related to the plastic paddies.

It's wrong that John Beaton's personal details have been shared. It should never come to that. It's been going on for years though. Celtic have a group called North Curve Ultras, who take pictures of police officers and have shared their personal details online. It's shocking.

Stewarty, you need to have a serious look in the mirror at yourself if you think this is acceptable for any reason. This whitabootery is all that is wrong with Scottish football, and as much as I love Rangers as a team and club, this makes me realise how much I hate elements of the club's fans.
Sorry if that is too strong for some, but a disgrace that any referee gets this type of personal targeting and abuse for a decision.
Whether it was right or wrong, it was made with what they saw at the time and all this conspiracy crap which goes on leads to this point. We need to be better than this and need to call out anything which can lead to this in future. I would rather never win another trophy than see another human being hurt over a game of football.

Strom, it's never been widely reported. I've been highlighting that it's totally disgusting that any referee should get abuse. McInnes came out and the SFA are condemning him. Yet nothing when that other mob made a doc about referees, or it was brought up at their annual board meeting, or the wee digs from former players, etc.

Storms correct. Christ, Ally McCoist highlighted the trouble Beaton had previously, Beaton was famously the target of death threats and a police escort for him and his family after the December 2018 Old Firm derby. It was widely known.

Anyone who tries to paint this as acceptable because they did it is wrong and it leads to the issues continuing to happen. So please criticise their braindead element, but I want us to be equally, if not more, critical of our own.

Angus, it's not whitabootery. That mob have been getting away with targeting referees for decades, ex players, board members, fans, YouTube doc fanning hatred, yet nothing from SFA and very little media coverage.
I'm sure at one point the referees went on strike. Maybe if more action had been taken then we wouldn't be at this point. Where idiots, fans from any club, think it acceptable to abuse referees.

Angus, we certainly don't want to be like them but what they are doing is definitely working against the refs. Just before the Old Firm, Martin O'Neill out with the "I hope VAR decisions don't ruin the game" comments.
What happens? They benefit from 2 in the Old Firm, then the decision against Motherwell.
This crap has been going on for too long, and it's ruined a fairytale season for Hearts, likely because refs are scared to upset Celtic.

There's no place for it, and I don't want anyone who does rubbish like this and calls them a 'Rangers fan' anywhere near my beautiful club.
If we see it, we call it out. Maybe then, the decent section of the fan base will get access to season tickets after a long wait on the list.

Stewarty, the strike in 2010 was because referees thought that the SFA wasn't doing enough to protect them from criticism from all football clubs, and that could lead to increasing fears for their personal safety. So, every club, not just Celtic.
If you really think that Martin O'Neill saying he doesn't want VAR to ruin the game is intimidation, then I just don't know. He is right, we don't want VAR to need to get involved. Every manager makes comments in the press about VAR and referees.
Will McInnes's comments midweek not be considered the same? I don't see any difference anyway.
We aren't losing leagues because of referees, we are losing them as we are just not good enough. Just a question, when we were winning during the 80s, 90s and 00s, were these referees not biased for Celtic and their managers not?
But, we will just need to disagree that putting out a ref's personal address, which could lead to his kids being harmed, isn't a great look for our club.

No one should have their personal details published like that or be threatened in any way for doing their job. It's a real shame it's come to that.
I think incompetence lends itself well to conspiracy.
Quite simply, the SFA are not fit for purpose across nearly all aspects of our game, including standard of referees via their 'Referees Department'.
I look at the EPL refereeing and transparency with VAR audio with envy.
They are not perfect, but seem to get it right far more than we do. How many mea culpa have we heard up here weeks later after review, when points have been dropped?
The standard of refereeing in this country is poor.
I'd like to see PGMOL oversee all aspects of our refereeing next season. We're not up to the job in this country.

Clubs' views about ref governance and referees being taken up with the SFA is one thing.
Leaking a person's address was malicious, despicable and premeditated.
You know exactly what will happen and what could happen.
Too many fans on all sides have the psychotic element in their fan base.
Everything in their lives revolves round the club.
I love my club. They are special to me, but I have a life other than Rangers.
People come first, and that includes Beaton and his family.
I pray nothing happens to any of them.
We, as a fan base, need to call this out and not be scared to do so.

Off the field, great to finally have a financially stable club, the board have put up plenty of money to back both the head coaches we've had this season and they've been let down badly by the under-achieving playing staff.
