Is Ryan Jack on his way out? It doesn't seem as though Gio rates him.

One sub appearance against Livi and then subbed off after a dreadful performance against Union which cost him his place v Kilmarnock.

Thus why Davis, who many feel the club have stood by signing a new deal, was preferred before Jack against Kilmarnock.

Gio wants rid of injury prone players.

Its seems that Lundstram, Kamara and Davis are all ahead of Jack for the central midfield positions. I have to say that I agree.

I don't think Jack would be a big loss if he were to move on.

Many feel that he is the first name on the team sheet. Maybe in seasons past but I honestly think that Gio sees Jack as a squad player at best.

Good servant but there is no room for sentiment in football.

In Gio we trust.

1.) 10 Aug 2022 19:47:04
You agree with yourself?

2.) 10 Aug 2022 19:58:34
Unbelievable, Coldo, sorry Jeff?.

3.) 10 Aug 2022 20:15:06
Jeff, just ignore tattie head and dk, always negative with them, no one else is aloud an opinion.

I hear what your saying about Ryan jack, Jeff. He's not been the same player since his last big injury, never looks like he's moving freely, and you are right he will struggle to get a game with lundstram, Lawrence, kamara, Davis ahead of him as it would seem. I like Ryan jack and I'm guessing he will play on Saturday vs st John, if he doesn't get any minutes then I guess that would clarify your point. Still a good squad player to have about. Shame about his injuries.

4.) 10 Aug 2022 20:15:32
Jeff seriously you are daft. Jack has injury issues that's all he came in last season when we were playing poor and drove the whole team on to better form. your off your rocker sorry but that's madness talking.

5.) 10 Aug 2022 20:17:11
Jacko at his best starts in our starting 11 all day long for me ?.

6.) 10 Aug 2022 20:23:33
If Jack can get match sharp and stay fit he has his place he’s way off the pace he needs some mins in his legs can see him coming on 70 mins played similar to alfrado till match sharp.

7.) 10 Aug 2022 20:38:33
Coops the problem is when was last time Jack was at his best You can’t keep paying a guy that’s constantly injured this goes for roofe and helander also.

MPH surely the bold coldo couldn’t have made another return.

8.) 10 Aug 2022 20:58:30
Jack never came in and drove us he had one decent game in the cup final other than that he’s been well of his usual level sadly.

9.) 10 Aug 2022 21:00:09
People calling him of his rocket for pointing out jack has been below par? Well it’s true and he’s never fit. Think his time is coming to a end. Lundstram has took his position and made it his own.

10.) 10 Aug 2022 21:03:23
Jacko has been struggling for fitness now since February last year. His return earlier this spring suggests he simply isn't the same player he was before. He doesn't cover the grass like he did, Tav is far more exposed than he used to be when Jacko was in, and Rangers concede goals now with him in the side, which we didn't use to. Reports on here he's to be offered a new deal seem very odd to me.

11.) 10 Aug 2022 21:15:15
Ryan Jack has played a seasons worth of games in the last season, with around 1/ 3 of being decent performances IMO.

12.) 10 Aug 2022 21:44:31
Jack was outstanding against Dortmund over their.

13.) 10 Aug 2022 21:55:48
For me anyway it's about game management regarding jacko ?Most definitely i wouldn't be thinking about getting shot of him, absolutely no chance as he's a very capable midfielder who can turn games in our favour ?A fit ryan jack plays in our biggest games for me!

14.) 10 Aug 2022 22:01:20
Jack no longer up for it. He will be lucky to get 15 starts. Only injuries to other will see a run.

Not the player he was shame.

15.) 10 Aug 2022 22:24:25
Bs jack had many games where he helped us change tactically and was main reason behind lundstrum being able to change his form.

16.) 10 Aug 2022 22:26:22
guys a mainstay of team one season and your trying to drive him out next season after 2 league games and a couple of European matches . ? I get the injury stuff is frustrating but he did play enough last season not anywhere near as bad as roofe or helander injury wise.

17.) 10 Aug 2022 22:29:30
If jack continues to be out injured for most of this season then fair enough. Time to move on but give the guy a chance season barely even started . ?.

18.) 10 Aug 2022 22:38:41
Jack involved in 22 out of 66 games,
9 in league
9 in Europe
3 Scottish cup
1 league cup

Majority he did not play 90 minutes.

19.) 10 Aug 2022 22:57:36
My post should read above he has played less than a season over the last two, apologies.

20.) 10 Aug 2022 23:00:56
Jack is a quality player. No way gio would want him out. Aye he had a poor performance against union but so did the rest of the team not just jacko.
Jack leaving would def be a huge loss, but he's going nowhere so don't need to speak about it.

21.) 11 Aug 2022 00:10:16
Unfortunately he will never be the ryan jack of 2 or 3 seasons ago. Injuries have took the toll and for me he doesn't play anymore if everyone is fit, let alone be first on teamsheets like some say.

22.) 11 Aug 2022 03:01:33
Ok John26 so Morelos missed the last 5 months or so should he be moved out? We have not had sufficient time to call if Lawrence Tillman rabbi are going to do ok signs look good but things can change rapidly and I'd rather keep a guy like jack or arfield around until these guys establish themselves.

23.) 11 Aug 2022 05:12:23
Gdog surely if you're saying were to be true regarding jacko playing 15 games a season is it not better having a terrific midfielder who can still contribute and matter and change games in your favour ?I most definitely think so and i'll say here and now jacko will be given a new deal because he's still very important for rangers ?.

24.) 11 Aug 2022 07:13:47
So we want rid Ramsey helander roofe Souttar but we keep Jack.
650 k a year and can’t has not played 15x 90 minutes in nearly three years.

25.) 11 Aug 2022 07:58:44
Jack is our best midfielder. He has come through hell since last February. I think he at least deserves a chance to prove he can still do it.

26.) 11 Aug 2022 08:29:43
Jack will start tomorrow against St Johnstone.

27.) 11 Aug 2022 08:59:17
I love Jack, however I don't think he's the kind of personality or player that can 'manage' an injury.

His game play is so physical that I can't see anything other than more niggly injuries on the horizon.

Hopefully I'm proved wrong though.

28.) 11 Aug 2022 09:15:14
I am with John on this. Too early in the season to conclude he isn't the same player he was but we can't afford to carry someone who is going to miss so many games.

As posted above, he seems to get different treatment to other injury prone players like Roofe, Helander, Souttar (who is only five minutes in the door)

Good player when fit but not irreplaceable and would rather have someone we know will be available more often than not.

29.) 11 Aug 2022 09:17:23
A fully match fit Ryan Jack would be in the team every week. The problem at present is that he does not look close to match fitness.

30.) 11 Aug 2022 12:04:53
We can only play 11 men so some are out of the team for a while and then they get back in, that's the way it works . It doesn`t mean that anybody who is left out for a game or two are heading out . Look at Davis and Wright they had long spells last season where they didn`t play . We need a squad not just a team.

31.) 11 Aug 2022 16:44:03
Did we win those 22 games?

32.) 11 Aug 2022 19:43:09
Helander was injury prone when we got him and himself made mutterings of wanting to go back to Sweden Ramsey only ever showed flashes and wasn't a rangers player was on loan only. never said I wanted rid of souttar just he needs to learn as he was made a mug of by livi defender. Honestly think Ramsey was never going to do much for us and couldn't understand all the crazy reaction when he signed not played consistently well in years.

33.) 11 Aug 2022 22:27:43
Completely with you on this one John, Ryan Jack is a good player but hasn’t been at it for a full season since the season before 55, he was a bit part player or injured most of the 55 season as well.

34.) 12 Aug 2022 12:20:46
Only time will tell whether Ryan Jack can put his injury woes behind him. Let's hope so. I personally wouldn't compare him with either Helander or Roofe. With Roofe I just think it is more psychological and Helander just seems to be really unlucky with injuries. In an ideal world we would get both these guys off our wage bill, get some money for them in transfer fees and use the money to bring in a first team starter.

35.) 12 Aug 2022 17:40:55
Jeff I apologize for calling you daft knee jerk on my part and wrong sorry.

Cringe! You do know you are an absolute throbber, don't you, coldo?!

2.) 24 Aug 2022 10:57:14
The snide post from Jeff who alleges he backs Alf, now on my ignore list.

3.) 24 Aug 2022 11:11:56
maybe explains a lot LOL!

4.) 24 Aug 2022 11:17:01
Some people seem to be enjoying this situation with Morelos, sad really, any genuine rangers fan wants to see Morelos playing.

5.) 24 Aug 2022 11:25:40
Choose a 4 letter word beginning with T and ending in T with an A and W in the middle.

Clue - It's not Coldo cause that's got 5 letters.

6.) 24 Aug 2022 11:34:14
Can't believe you did that Jeff or whoever you are. Your on the wrong site mate. Dobber!

7.) 24 Aug 2022 11:59:30
Jeff pure clown of a man.

8.) 24 Aug 2022 12:24:49
Embarrassing Coldo ?.

9.) 24 Aug 2022 12:29:30
Absolute ? end of a guy.

10.) 24 Aug 2022 12:42:07
Poor choice. Just go away please.

11.) 24 Aug 2022 13:06:52
Poor post Jeff.

12.) 24 Aug 2022 19:04:09
It's just a joke. Some folk need to calm down.

23 Aug 2022 17:51:30
If we fail to qualify for the champions league there will no doubt be an autopsy to see where the finger of blame lies.

For me our defence has to shoulder the biggest part. Goldson was shocking against PSV at ibrox and displayed the same inept defensive mistakes that cost us the EL Final. If Goldson does his job properly and clears the ball then win and extra time is irrelevant. Again if Goldson does his job last week the we take a two goal lead to Eindhoven.

Don't get me wrong it doesn't help when he doesn't have a settled partner but as a mainstay and the vice captain he has to show more organisation and improve concentration at the back, especially in these big games.

Now Morelos antics don't come at the best of time but if your hopes were on him to be the hero in Eindhoven then we probably had very little hope in the first place. Contrary to that, Gio's removal of an underperforming, disinterested Morelos may well be the catalyst our team needs.

I wouldn't lay the blame at Morelos door for a champions league exit as I think most of us who are realistic knew that his lack of fitness and poor attitude would mean he would have little impact on this game anyway. However why could such an important player, according to some, not motivate himself and work hard so that he could help the team?

Our important players like Kent Colak Lawerence Tillman will pick up the weight left by Morelos. After all big games require big players.

Life is good lads, in Gio we trust.

Jeff Sterling

1.) 23 Aug 2022 18:06:22
I’m told agents at play, the goalposts have moved several times last three weeks.

2.) 23 Aug 2022 18:08:51
Didn’t Kent miss a 2 yard sitter in the EL final in the last minute of extra time.
But I suppose your Fan Boy infatuation has deleted that from your mind.
Always happy to keep you re-informed Coldo??.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 18:14:35
Morelos is our biggest player in Europe.

4.) 23 Aug 2022 18:19:36
Maybe psv just a better team if we go out? But saying that we missed out on champions league by not building from position of strength in the league last year. League this year is priority so anything else is a bonus. All I care about is league.

5.) 23 aug 2022 18:27:44
if, and its a big if, we go into europa then we will need a settled defence, i wasn't enamoured with connor resigning, still ain't, but he's still here and he's always fit, we need to find a suitable partnership for him to return to form.

6.) 23 Aug 2022 18:36:44
PSV we have Goldson sands king, Tom.

7.) 23 Aug 2022 18:44:23
Mph he did. Although Var would have ruled the ball out of play anyway i think.

8.) 23 Aug 2022 18:56:11
So do we still think buff will sign a new deal with rangers ?.

9.) 23 aug 2022 19:09:16
not ideal john, i’m sure gio envisaged some form of settled defence by now,

we have suffered some bad luck recently, but in time of hardship great warriors are born.
step forward tom lawrence, £50 last goal.

10.) 23 Aug 2022 19:17:37
Paul the ball wasn’t out tho.

11.) 23 Aug 2022 20:04:19
Give it a rest blaming Goldson for the Europa final if others did there job the cross wouldn’t have been put in therefore Goldson doesn’t need to stick a leg out.

12.) 23 Aug 2022 20:22:48
Morelos has had last offer taken off the table. Things off field are now a major concern for the club.

23 Aug 2022 14:31:25
So Morelos responds by posting on instagram that he will return to battle. How many will swallow this?

Jeff Sterling

1.) 23 Aug 2022 15:19:57
At least it’s positive… if we had blanked him the last time he wouldn’t be rangers top European goal scorer.
Not long since people were saying gio was getting more out of him than SG did .
I think he might come good again.

2.) 23 Aug 2022 15:34:43
Agree Molsgoals, loads more to come from Morelos, still our best player imo.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 16:27:07
Has he posted on Instagram when he intends signing his new Contract? If not, then I'm with you, Jeff.

22 Aug 2022 22:15:48
So the dust hasn't settled on Morelos and rightly so.

He has the most red cards in our history. Stats don't always tell the full story but even for the most diehard of stat lovers its very hard to a spin on that just to suit your narrative.

He has regularly let us down, costing us big games with his petulance.

He returns to pre season overweight and unfit every year.

Gerrard, Boyd and Gough have all commented on his weight with Gerrard calling out his attitude when Morelos wanted to leave.

Some fans have been called blinkered for contiually making excuses for Morelos, for example he has a slow metabolism, its his genetic make up or he doesn't have an attitude problem he plays with an edge. There was even the new role excuse for lack of goals even though Gerrard publicly said this was due to poor form and never mentioned a new role.

Yip Gio got him firing again but will there come a point when those so called blinkered fans have had enough and call it out what most fans have known for a while, some of us for years.

How many are still adamant Morelos is a £20mil player or deserves to be one of the clubs highest paid players?

At least we have another striker who is fit, level headed, focused and more importantly scoring goals.

Colak softens the blow.

Jeff Sterling

1.) 22 Aug 2022 23:31:30
We can all downplay or exaggerate depending on what suits. For me it's all about performances, if you are playing well overall then I'll give you slack. Certain times we have had no option but to back him. For me he's a good player and we are better for having him playing whether starting or from bench.

I like Colak but he did also have a slap out in the PSV game so I hope we don't all write him off if he gets a silly red at some point.

2.) 22 Aug 2022 23:44:59
Think it is time he moved on
to many discussions over one player and it’s not always good discussions
He needs replaced and wee need a change.

3.) 22 Aug 2022 23:55:27
Hopefully signs a new deal, he is Rangers best striker, Colak is doing very well just now but Morelos is a far better cf in my eyes.

4.) 23 Aug 2022 03:08:14
You do realize he wasnt ment to be back untill end of next month most likely reason he is unfit.

5.) 23 Aug 2022 04:59:46
GVB, morelos and colak are 2 different types of strikers mate.
For me colak is a better/ more natural finisher than morelos, who plays in the penalty box, whereas alfie can hold the ball up, link play and gets us up the park, not to mention he scores goals for us and totally bullies defenders ?If alfie had the composure of roofe, especially on one on one situations,
he would honestly be a £30million + striker and wouldn't still be at rangers ?.

6.) 23 Aug 2022 06:09:54
Most red cards in our history? Surely Bud Johnston must be up there lol!
What's the numbers?

7.) 23 Aug 2022 06:43:22
Never change Coldo.
I see your Fan Boy infatuation of a Kent is still holding firm with no criticism of him. ?.

8.) 23 Aug 2022 07:17:08
bar morelos 8 bud 6.
bud had a career total 22.

9.) 23 Aug 2022 08:36:10
Yes Alphie is carrying a few extra pounds but he is not just coming back from end of season he’s been injured for nearly six months, the club stated he’d be out till mid Sept but has got back a month early so he needs time to get back to full fitness, yes it was a petulant little boy I saw on Sun but I know a fully fit Morelos is a huge asset I know he has had 8 reds far to many Jack (signed about same time ) has had 5 but not a mention of any, it’s Alphie first in nearly three years and he was never going to go through his career without another red so I’m willing to sit back take a deep breath and hope he signs a new contract.

10.) 23 aug 2022 09:33:58
christensen you do realise if he was brought back that means he is fit,

11.) 23 Aug 2022 10:57:16
Coldo i guess you don't go to the games. when Morelos name is mentioned on the team sheet he gets the loudest cheer, when he comes on or off the pitch he gets the loudest audiation. Not bad for someone who as you mentioned isn't wanted at the club. Yes i totally agree Saturday was just stupid from him but in the live chat you actually said that you were glad he got red carded come on man what kind of fan is glad your players get redcarded.

12.) 23 Aug 2022 11:01:24
Well according to some on here TT he's not fit?

13 Aug 2022 18:55:20
Excellent performance throughout. I Was particularly pleased with how direct we were and how quickly we moved the ball. I have always thought that a big flaw in our game, especially under Gerrard, was how laboured we were in attack but you can see how Gio wants to play and with his own players we are starting to see some nice slick fast attacking football. When we really gel I think we will a joy to watch.

I thought Matondo was testiment to how direct we were, he really grew into the game. He'll be one to watch.

Tillman, pay Bayern the cash now.

Nice to see Jack contribute 90mins, do him the world of good, thus allowed Lundstram a deserved break for Tuesday. I thought Jack did well, we need our squad players to contribute. I think its very important as its a long season.

I said in the live chat it would be nice to see one of our holding mids replaced with our more attacking players as it was a great chance to boost the goal difference and boy I wasn't wrong. What an impact from Arfield and Lawerence.

Again though delighted for Arfield, what a top pro and big Colak just has that poachers instinct and habit of being where it matters. Could a be a key signing I feel.

On to Tuesday, Kent will be back after a deserved rest. I said the other day that an open game will suit us and we definately have the players to exploit teams in an open game.

Enjoy the weather Lads and let's see if Killie can do us a wee favour tomorrow .

Jeff Sterling

1.) 13 Aug 2022 19:45:43
Good post coldo, though it could be argued that everyone is potentially a squad player in Gio's eyes. Wholesale changes for almost every game depending on all kinds of factors. Good to see Glen Kamara getting a wee cameo to keep his hand in ?.

2.) 13 Aug 2022 21:40:28
Great to see Gio clarify he won’t play Morelos and Colak as a two, and he has never played two up top in his managerial career.

3.) 14 Aug 2022 06:28:54
Good point well made, John ?.

So Gio gives Morelos game time to help him get fit and in shape to help the team but Morelos poor attitude and lack of willingness to get fit is Gio's fault. That has to be the best excuse yet. Its all Gio's fault storm.
