just a point to the many who say Tel Butcher is next manager, i'd much prefer B Davies, as we missed a wonderful chance there, nut Tel would be an improvement surely, however having read his autobiography, his wife begged him to leave the goldfish bowl and hatred of the old firm when he was a player, just a thought, but the ginger one from the east doesn't exactly show that hatred has dissipated in any way? would big Tel wanna come back?

tommyblue

1.) The Lennon obsession again! What has Lennon got to do with who you appoint as manager?

2.) Just go back 2 weeks at Berwick with your hatred quote, your statement yet again is to blame everyone else for an owner and a manager who need each other to survive, therein lies your problem, nothing to do with anyone from the East.

3.) The ginger one from the east. He would be the man sent bullets and bombs, run off a motorway with a child in the car at high speed, dragged out the car at traffic lights and beaten up, followed home from a night out and beaten unconcious, had his walls daubed by death threats, had death threats phoned in for playing for HIS country, been advised there is a serious threat to his life, and I am sure I have missed a few and if I am right you are suggesting he might be sectarian. What team did the perpretraters of these crimes support. I am sure like most fans of any club including your own they are disgusted by these acts and people like yourself who then turn it around to blame the wee ginger one

rangobango

4.) To the above post well said my friend, and to the original post start thinking for yourself mate and not the bile that you have been steeped since you were probably a youngster.
My dad was Catholic and my mum Protestant, no sectarianism, bigotry ever allowed in my family mate.

Dont know anything bout David Somers but his name seems familiar to me, anyone have any real knowledge of the guy?
Ed maybe you could help?

tommyblue

{Ed039's Note - Very experienced and by all accounts succesful in his field)

1.) RIFC appoint
Independent Chairman, Mr David Somers. Mr Somers has no beneficial Share interest in RIFC.

Insight Investment Institutional Fund owns 3. 3% of RIFC.

Guess who's the head of said fund!.

2.) Paddy, they are not listed as owning more than 3% in rangers

Mr Somers is currently a Non Executive Director of ACE Europe Life, part of the ACE Group of insurance and reinsurance companies; Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit & Risk Committee of Europe Arab Bank; Independent Trustee & Chairman of the Investment Sub Committee at Fujitsu Technologies International Pension Plan and, Chairman of the Investment Committee at TCF Investment Managers Ltd.

JG

3.) Just read his club statesman seems he has been to ibrox games as a supporter he has also been to big european nights at ibrox mmm now where did I read that before

4.) 08 Nov 2013 06:48:41
His work history is staggering, I don't believe he would sully that background, but I may be wrong,
hope not because he seems to be just wot we need rite need
Tommyblue

5.) Mm according to the DR rag has links to Whyte and Green so no surprise there then

6.) 08 Nov 2013 12:35:54
I think if you studied every inch of a very successful businessman and CEO of many companys from all of his career you will find links to hundreds of other businessmen etc. , And many companys who have come and gone, I really believe he is a good thing, Cue the tedious snide comments
Tommyblue

7.) If you read the details of the rather tenious link that the rag has written, you could take the same view on numerous individuals, they are absolutely determined to come up with anything that can detract.

8.) Tommy, he has been put in place by the club. Would you trust any of those pulling the strings? Nothing snide there, sooner we clear them all out the better, new regime in place. doubt it will be as simple as that though I am afraid. Still has a bit to run yet.

9.) First of all we are all bears and comments not meant to be snide. until we get clarity of blue pitch and magarita holdings I will not trust anyone that as much as sent a xmas card to Whyte or Green to be on the board and untill they prove to the faithful they are genuine regardless of their business prowess I will be very wary.

10.) I am amazed at how many of you seem to jump on bandwagon of everyone put forward by this shower of chancers

11.) N10 exactly mate lots of us want current board out so ide imagine he will be leaving with his muckers I also think anybody this lot try to bring in will get thumbs down if yae fly with the craws yae will get shot wae the craws

12.) 11 Nov 2013 08:45:38
@9 We are not all Bears m8, you should be well aware of that on here,
and @10, Nobody I have seen has "jumped on the bandwagon" think before you post m8, I never jumped on any bandwagon, I simply said he was an impressive businessman, Tommyblue

i sincerely hope the DR has got it right today, if dave King is going to return then in my opinion we have turned a corner, we need him desperstely, I have been banging on about him for 2 yrs now, but I really believe he is the man, a true blue gers fan, successful businessman, a man who disputed the s/african govts tax bill and to all end won, anfd remember it was a dispute, we are aqll entitled to dispute a bill we don't agree with, let's hope guys that the KIng is returning to guide the club back to the top,
tommyblue

tommyblue

1.) Lets hope he does come back in and the supporters get behind him. He knows the club well, and what it takes to get back on track. He also knows that we are not just a business, but a well loved football club.

2.) He claimed his earnings from 1990-2001 were 80,000 Rand per year, he claimed even his golf clubs and watch were owned by his parent company. And ultimately gives the SA govt £44m in settlement. How did he "to all ends win"?

3.) Let's hope the DR is talking more sense then the s** today, they are saying samaras is a signing target for barca. Haha.

4.) Put £20m into Rangers and earned £15m back in the same year.

Admitted 41 tax evasion charges as part of settlement with tax man. Judge wasn't exactly complimentary on his reliability as a witness.

Is that what we want as a director never mind a chief executive?

5.) The DR is Jabba spin to improve morale. If it is 100% true KJ would have got the article.
It's designed to nudge King into doing it, agenda driven reporting rather than news driven.

6.) God help us if the choice is between Easedale or King

7.) @6) you're right. In whose universe actually is King or SDM not spivs also? I mean come on think about it.

King cannot walk in and honour green's contracts he gave away for catering merchandise etc. He would be ridiculed. King needs an admin situation to pick up all shares via CVA and wipe out all contracts, debt and any unknown surprises.

08 Oct 2013 09:15:05
Let us all hope and pray that Mr King involves himself again and takes his rightful place on the board, no nonsense about fraud, no charges to face, money paid, all £45 million, always was set aside to pay if he lost his dispute with the SARs, I know people who hate us will come on and try and denigrate the man, but real Gers fans should, remember the cash he fed into our club and how much we enjoyed the fruits?
Tommyblue

tommyblue

1.) I agree tommyblue, not to happy that he was invovled in a dispute over taxes in sa but from a rangers point of view the man has in the past put his "own money" in and lost it and seems willing to put more in if the deal is right for him, which is understandable, as far as I can see he has no other agenda other than his love of rangers, not like others we have seen recently operating at ibrox!

2.) Totally agree tommyblue and the sooner the better. I also hope he can recruit Brian Kennedy with Souness as director of football then the future will be bright.

3.) How about looking for someone who can put money in and not lose it or take even more out. Is there no Investors out there who can A invest money B Give the club a fianacial grounding to work from which can see the club for the first time in decades stand on it's own two feet and finally C does not have a dubiousfraudulant or corrupt background?

4.) It's not an investment unless you can get cash back plus interest above inflation plus costs. Does trifc promise that to attract "investment"?

5.) @3, there is a fairly large % of guys with real cash that have dubious pasts at best.

6.) @4) your right it's not "investment" it's once again a charitable donation. Give away millions with no hope of returns. That's how it works.

7.) @6 many millions has DD invested wjth little chance of a return?

8.) @7 does Desmond not take about 5m a year from them

9.) 09 Oct 2013 21:52:17
@1 listen m8 DK was entitled as me and you to dispute a tax bill, its not our place to comment on his business unless it affects us surely,
And some people have became angels overnight when it comes to Rangers, if someone can show me a self made millionaire who hasn't bent, broke the rules I wouldn't believe them, but this forum has an unnatural amount of totally crime free cherubs, wno are quite happy throwing mud at other people, its disturbing really, because some of them stop typing and actually believe what they say,, then roll a joint or smoke their blak market baccy, makes me laff,

28 Sep 2013 01:04:52
Ive been racked with guilt about this statement for days now, but here goes,
If Rangers fand applaud and clap Ian Black tomorrow then we have really reached rock bottom lads, and anything Mr McCoist says to alleviate blacks position is simply telling us we mean nothing, i'm sorry but I simply don't think Goughy or Bf or Tel or Griegy especially, would eber even contemplate such support, Please Union Bears, this is not any other player for Rangers, this is a guy who laughed on our pitch when we slaughterd him after he nearly crippled our star player, he smirked as jela lay in crutches, came to Ibrox and tried everything in his power to wind us up and belittle the great Gers, fxxk him, destroy Allys bubble, send Black far away from our club, he means nothing to us, he is a hearts fan (allegedly), he proved to us once and for all he didn't care about our club, he is one of the main reasons my loyalty to Ally McCoist has gone and will never return, Ian Black is a cancer in our club, a man no other Gers manager would have signed, Now the UB sign nonsense about no surrender and this interloper, and he slaps our badge and the imbeciles scream their delight, while he goes home to check his coupon, have we lost our identity completely?
Tommyblue

tommyblue

1.) Doiuf was an animal aswell but got accepted by most rangers fans for winding Celtic players up.

2.) It seems to me that you are trying yet again to have a pop at the manager but using black as your reason for doing so. does anyone know if any other player is betting and betting against their team but getting someone else to place their bet? my answer would be they don't know and the reason blacks case came to light was he stupidly had a phone account however it wasnt deemed important enough to flag up when he was at hearts and ict. BT

3.) The bet was an accumulator for £5. Not an excuse just a fact. He knows he has done wrong. I have done worse things. So don't cheer or clap for the lads utter stupidity. Just go along and give RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB
100% support. that's all I ask.
OCRSC

4.) 2 good points gers fans forget this man black was hated by us long be4 he signed I for 1 will never accept him he is a disgrace an shd have been fired FACT

KJA

5.) Don't see the point of booing Black today. Also think your wrong to say no other Rangers manager would have signed him. I remember the early eighties when we signed some woeful players who in my opinion weren't as good as Black. The cancer reference is very extreme and really weakens the point your trying to make. Quite a few other players have had a go at Rangers or the players that have ended up signing for us e. g. Gazza and Mo Johnston yet this wasn't held against them when they joined.

6.) Fans are right to have an opinion and voice it, however booing a player when he has pulled on a Rangers top is too far. Mccoist got it in the eighties and look what he done as a player.
Black done wrong, let's move on and support the whole team. PB

7.) 28 Sep 2013 11:57:33
Well said Tommy! Looks like some of the younger bears don't know that we once wouldn't have tolerated the likes of Black. And nobody can tell me me Jock Wallace wouldn't have any problem with Black because my dad knew him and he would have shown Black the door ASAP. I won't repeat my dad's actual take on it :)

8.) @7 would agree. Jock Wallace would have taken him by the scruff of the neck and chucked him onto the Edmiston road. Those days are gone now and you'll find Managers will defend their players to the hilt. Seem to remember Alex Ferguson defending Roy Keane after that disgraceful assault on the Man City player which ended this career

9.) What a nonsense of a post another ally brasher - sick of it, concentrate on supporting the club. 5-0 today
Al

10.) Do you have a link to Fergie defending Roy Keane? If you read the full story it was actually an injury to the guys other leg that ended his career.

11.) He bet against his own team. End of argument.

Gbear

12.) @10 do you have a link saying it was an injury to his other leg that caused him to retire?

13.) @8 & @10 actually you are both right and wrong. Fergie did actually defend Keane regarding the tackle and actually said that Keane had no case to answer after he commented in his book that he deliberately fouled Haagland. So yes he did defend him however the tackle didn't end his career as he played on after the incident and did have problems with his other knee which eventually decided his fate. I do however get the point post 8 makes where managers never criticise their players these days and that methods used years ago just don't happen now. @ 10 I am a bit surprised you didn't mention that it was a bad tackle rather than just have a go @ 8 when the point was quite valid

14.) N8 I agree jock wallace would have gave him black yes black eyes lol

Soz for skipping away from the path chaps, but if there are any snooker fans out there, Does anyone else have a bad feeling bout the 12 yr ban handed out to Stephen lee today after John Higgens was filmed and exposed arranging to fix a match and accepting payment, indeed asking that payment was made in a certain way (to buy him a house so no payment reached his account)? please before celtic fans who frequent Rangers sites jump up in arms, It stinks to high heavens, he was filmed ffs, and actually flew to russia to attend the meeting, but he was world champion, lee wasnt so is put out of the game, fxxxn rotten Tommyblue

tommyblue

1.) Agree completely Tommy I've never been a big fan of Stephen but I do feel sorry for him being hammered without sufficent evidence. Saying that these guys make good money & IF they are fixing matches then he has got what he deserves I put my hard earned money on at the bookies for a CHANCE to win more when these guys do this it shows no respect too the fans at all & without them they wouldn't be getting paid to play.

Larky Bear

2.) Did Higgins actually through any matches or ven frames, though? If not, he's not guily of what Lee has been found guilty of. Seems to be two different cases so might be the reason for two different punishments.

3.) Re 3) did u see the film of him making deals, behave.

4.) Cheats of any sort should be hammered - no matter what their reputation or status

Pro sport has fans - and punters - who invest emotionally and financially in the product.
Anything less than total honesty and transparency undermines support for, and confidence in, the sport.

Lee's treatment is a huge line in the sand

Blacks treatment is a weeks holiday without pay.

.

5.) @5 great post- I wish I was able to make such a concise point with few words.

6.) @5 while it was wrong what Black did I feel you can't use the word cheating when referring to him. If he had actually tried to influence the game to help his bet then yes it's cheating and he should have received a long ban. However there is no question that he did this and in actual fact scored which helped make his bet a losing one. Not on there to defend him but its not as black and white to say he cheated

7.) @5, Agree but when you get people /lawyers arguing the case you also will get variances, e. g. on other site we have a post saying J. Higgins was never actually done for throwing matches so that means it ain't so bad as S Lee. As regards I Black I am convinced what appears a lenient ban is simply the worry of the explosion of others it could cause.

It is my understanding that S Gardner refused an offer of around a 200k, this would have been paid even if he had to leave in a few weeks,, some of the questions asked included, Do I have the authority to stop the extortionate wage and utility bills leaving the club, the answer was no, he wouldn't be allowed to do his job, apparently, he didn't want to take another fortune out of the club without a contract, and he didn't like what the job entailed, he is a big Gers fan

We have read the same sentences from you before pal, quite a few times in fact, and again you use the immortal phrase "YOU All", how do you know that?. is DD not a sugar daddy,? Tell me how many Rangers fans have you spoken to who ALL WANT a sugar daddy?, I suspect none, you just felt you had to rewrite your old post because something positive might have happened today at Ibrox, I suspect you don't like that sort of thing,
