Have a mate who knows Nakhi Wells and whilst speaking to him last night he was trying to convince him in a move to Rangers, would defo take a punt for him, he's fast skilful and seems like a decent striker.

03 Jul 2016 21:48:14
In an Ideal World, we would sign Mariappa, Robson-Kanu / Ings, would be more than happy to take on any of these players at the club, hopefully warbs can go through with at least one of the deals.

03 Jul 2016 23:15:35
Still think the Mariappa deal will go through. Took ages for the Kranjcar deal. Think this one will happen and the defence is sorted.

As for a striker, we definitely need at least one permanent striker. Hopefully it'll be someone not mentioned in the media, these type of deals are always exciting.

Kanu's junk scores one decent goal at an international tournament and the hype is hysterical. He wasn't even born in wales and was an English international until 2010. Easy to look good when on the other wing you have a world class player in Bale and behind you you've got a premier league veteran like Ramsey. Wales are showing to be a great team, although having some great individuals, and Kanu isn't one of the great individuals he is just playing his part in the system and leading to success. Not that we could afford him with the inflation the hype has caused anyway. Mariappa is for me the perfect signing but the more time goes on I feel we are keeping the American boy on trial in case we don't get him. Kranjcar deal took ages because he was waiting for his contract to expire. Mariappa can sign anytime and down to how MW likes doing business would have been completed as soon as possible/ by now hence why I don't think we will get him.

03 Jul 2016 23:26:26
We are not dealing in an ideal world anymore due to financial restraints at the club. No way on earth we can afford any of the above.

04 Jul 2016 12:10:29
I have been slated for this on many pages. But mariappa deal will not happen unless we up our wage offer to him. We have a mutual friend and i have seen text from him. Believe this or not gents i have no reason to lie. would be great addition for us as we really struggle at the back. So heres hopin king digs deep but until then its a no go.

Barton starts training tomorrow?

03 Jul 2016 23:04:14
you asking or telling mate?

03 Jul 2016 18:54:46
A with the squad away in the US is Joey Barton training at the moment at Auchinhowie with the B team!

04 Jul 2016 05:50:21
Joey has been banned from America since 2011 for criticising their immigration laws.

04 Jul 2016 06:39:08
Teddy . Why the need to sugarcoat barton. Everybody knows he couldn't get a visa because he did time for assault. stop ripping the pish out of fellow fans. some of the younger ones believe everything on these pages and would argue all day about it.

03 Jul 2016 14:35:16
Seems amazing how good Warburton and co are at keeping everything quiet right up until a signing is made.

No manager with any credibility likes to speculate but it's surprising how Rangers aren't being linked with this player and the next. Has been quiet for the past while concerning a striker. Hopefully the calm before the big announcement.

03 Jul 2016 17:35:38
I agree Thorn go are the days of Aly telling you everything before it happened think Mark Warburton has learnt since last year with that midfielder that sprinted to parked from Hibs to sit on there bench!

03 Jul 2016 17:58:13
Even with the Michael O Halloran transfer. A day before being completed and the media asked him "What squad number will MOH wear", tongue in cheek of course, but Warburton just smiled and walked out at the end of the press conference and said "That was a curveball".

That mob ruined a young promising player's career in order to get one over on their rivals who were in a league below them at the time. What a bunch eh. Go to any lengths, full of spite and bile.

We'll get them this season and it'll be the greatest day in the club's history when we reach 55. Warburton will be 2 and 0 with Rodgers and Ronny out thanks to his magic hat.

03 Jul 2016 18:15:16
Thorn76

You can't blame them for ruining his career. Think you will find no one forced him to go there and he did so of his own free will.

03 Jul 2016 18:34:36
I agree with you Biffo316 to an extent.

He must've been given some assurances about his role at the club though. You can imagine how hard it would be to sell a move to Celtic when trying to persuade someone who grew up a die-hard Bear. Money yes, but he wants what every player wants, time on the pitch, which be didn't get.

Imagine this, we pay you more than you even want or need but you'll sit on the bench all year, if that. Would never have said yes.

03 Jul 2016 20:41:22
I wouldn't say Celtic ruined Scott Allen's career. Scott Allen was well aware that Delia had embarked on a bizarre policy of signing anybody that played vaguely in the middle of the park and that there was a huge possibility that he wouldn't get his chance while at Rangers he would have likely been a regular.

He went for the bigger money though so his fault. He's made his own bed so he can lie in it.

Anyway he's only been there half a season and could likely get his agent to find him another club if he felt inclined.

03 Jul 2016 23:05:11
Thorn76 and naz. the young lad is in slovakia just now playing friendlys against euro opposition vying for a place in the team for cl qualification earning more than we would give him. will be playing in a prestigious tournament against english, spanish and italian champions. yes it does sound like his career has been ruined. he could maybe be in the usa with us playing a low division mls team and looking forward to the early rounds of league cup. time to take off the blue specs and realise he may just have made a good move for himself.

I think so far it's been a bad move for him as he has hardly featured and Celtic still haven't got rid of any of their midfield players. Rodgers has come out in the papers and talked up Brown, Johansen, Rogic and Roberts. He also has the new lad from Norway, Christie and Bitton. Added to that he is trying to re sign Forrest and is willing to give Commons a chance then I don't think Allens chances look too great.

04 Jul 2016 05:54:26
Biffo he hasn't done his chances any harm then linking up with young christie to score against sturm gratz but time will tell. rodgers is a different type to delia.

04 Jul 2016 08:39:00
To play against to quality English, Spanish and Italian champions they will first have to qualify for the League stages! That is a major ask, even for Rogers, based on previous campaigns!

As for Scott Allan, Rogers might see something in him that Delia missed. There again perhaps the boy's heart isn't in it playing in front of the unwashed. Only time will tell whether this was a bad move for him or not.

04 Jul 2016 09:28:12
Tom42.they are playing in a tourney with these champions prior to Cl. so wrong. will play these teams regardless of qualification for cl.

03 Jul 2016 11:00:54
Has Andy Murdoch travelled to the US training camp?

03 Jul 2016 12:52:28
Pretty sure he did not. List of players showed Hardie, Walsh, Thomson but no Murdoch. Hope he isn't being pushed out the door have mentioned before that I rate him and letting him go would be a mistake just like letting McCormack go turned out to be. We have released a few promising players over the years who have gone on to become real assets, I think Murdoch is cut from the same cloth and people seem to have forgotten all about him.

03 Jul 2016 13:40:22
Murdoch hasn't showed any were near as much mccormack did. Mw and weir see him a lot more than we do. So if he gets released then I trust there judgement.

03 Jul 2016 13:48:06
Miby Murdoch doesn't want to be here anymore because lack of playing time.

03 Jul 2016 14:01:48
I trust warburton to make the right call on any players at rangers, he sees them day in day out, so there for it's his call to make, but Young Murdoch did look like a very good young player, maybe he's injured at the minute.

03 Jul 2016 20:16:58
I think he showed promise, in the lower leagues, maybe that was his level.

03 Jul 2016 09:51:32
I see three leaders of the fans groups have stepped down, I'm not against them but as this site proves our opinions as fans differ greatly at times but on here it is mainly light hearted. Over the years though when I have heard statements from leaders and representatives of the so called fans groups I'm normally of the opinion no I don't think that and they don't represent me. They remind me of union leaders and other political wannabes who pedal their own agendas for their own gain or self promotion for a sense of power. Do we need these people? Do they get paid in any? I genuinely don't know I would like to know what others think but all I do know comes from reading their statements which have never amalgamated my thoughts behind theirs. Also when we were in crisis which was quite often there was a lot of money raised, where does that go? What will be done with it? And now that we have a more trust board whom I may say speak more of things that represent me than any of the fans groups, can we not put the money to the club to make up for loss of revenue from the shirt deals and Europe? But also I am in the dark over said money so would also like to meet from anyone on here as I believe I have had better answers on here than from the leaders of the fans groups.

03 Jul 2016 10:07:24
Meet should have read hear, bloody auto correct.

03 Jul 2016 20:35:55
According to the Sunday Mail Brian Donohoe "is concerned Rangers First do not have a register of members, approved minutes, a constitution, chairman or office bearers. "

I'm no expert on this kind of thing but a bank account like this with £700,000 and no constitution etc etc strikes me as more than a little odd.

My pal submitted a few questions to Dave King about this and what was happening to the RFF money, to which he contributed a 3 figure sum to.

No reply.

03 Jul 2016 10:27:58
rangers first is turning out to be what i feared jobs for the boys and and creation of little empires.

03 Jul 2016 03:11:11
Really hope big American dude cuts the grade and proves his fitness and wins a deal.

We need a guy like this with big physical presence and who can play out from the back.

Him crooks and hill at the back is what we need and that can give us the solid fondation for us to do well this season and win 55! Mw knows best!

03 Jul 2016 10:06:45
Agreed, but we also need pace and good decision making abilities at the back. I'm sure, if he has the right qualities, we'll take him on.

Looking forward to seeing the boys play this season, very sure we are going in the right direction - on all fronts.

03 Jul 2016 14:06:12
Totally agree, he looks the part, I suppose it depends on how his physical stature is, I don't think he's played much football for a while.

02 Jul 2016 21:34:46
Anyone know if Crooks will miss start of season with his injury? Also Joey missing this key part of pre season, suspect he will be our 60 min sub man this season.

03 Jul 2016 01:32:57
Think it's likely Crooks will miss the start of the season as he is still recovering from an injury. As for Barton I don't think he is the type of player who wouldn't be happy being a 60 min man.

03 Jul 2016 09:28:42
Barton will be fit, he looks after himself. Crooks and Kranjcar are not in full training but will be there or thereabouts by the league kick-off.

03 Jul 2016 09:35:50
I have to disagree mate. I can't see a player of Barton's quality only playing for 30 minutes each week. I would assume that if he stays fit and plays well he will be a mainstay in that team. Only my opinion though.

03 Jul 2016 14:09:58
That's a whopper, Barton will be one of the first names on the team sheet. I don't know how long crooks will be injured but hopefully he is fit for August.

03 Jul 2016 10:32:22
Cheers lads I meant that maybe joey will be the one coming off after 60mins more often than not to ensure he can play every game but maybe not.
