McLeish gave a lot away in his comments on TV, expect Garner up front next week and Wilson at the back.

Fd

1.) 14 Feb 2017 07:30:32
Garner and Miller upfront. midfield 4 of Toral, Halliday, Hyndman and McKay. Defence: Wallace Hill, Senderos and Hodson. Foderingham in goal
Expect his side to be more organised and not as wreckless in posession i. e. No fannying about in front of your own goal. Goodbye Wes Beckenbauer. Hello Wes Foderingham.

2.) 14 Feb 2017 10:23:00
Halliday and senderos a bloody hope not

3.) 14 Feb 2017 11:03:41
Wilaon is a certainty

4.) 14 Feb 2017 11:33:25
as we are talking formations. i think we would be well suited to a 4-4-2.

foderingham

hodson hill Wilson Wallace

tavenier toral Hyndman McKay

garner/ waghorn miller

I really don't rate holt and halliday isn't good enough.

With this set up you can rotate in windass for toral and forrester on the wing for Tavenier.

its shocking we have found ourselves in this position, warburton should have fixed the defence as a priority and his midfield buys this season were a disaster.

On another note, Mcliesh till the end of the season for me. i'd like to hold off and see if Norwich fail to get promoted because I think they might let Alex Neil go then. he's a good option for us.

5.) 14 Feb 2017 11:49:58
If it is Eck I think he will play 5 3 2 with Wallace and Tav as wingbacks Wilson Kiernan and Hill in the centre Halliday McKay and Hyndman or Windass in midfield with garner miller or o'halleron up front making us difficult to breakdown but quick on the attack

6.) 14 Feb 2017 11:31:58
Halliday?

7.) 14 Feb 2017 11:40:14
Would go with that except move Toral inside and play Tav on right side of midfield he has played well in last two games and is a threat Halliday for me was very poor again on Sun

8.) 14 Feb 2017 12:36:09
We play Halliday because he is the only player we have who can play, admittedly very poorly, the defensive midfielder role. You need that link in a team between the defence and the midfield. It's not ideal but need to be practical.

9.) 14 Feb 2017 14:20:50
I've heard others say this as well, give Danny Wilson a shot in the defensive midfield role.

28 Jan 2017 18:27:50
Anybody know how Crooks has been getting on during loan at Scunthorpe?

Fd

1.) 28 Jan 2017 18:54:01
He came on for the last 5mins today against Port Vale

2.) 28 Jan 2017 19:21:00
Yeah they've had 2 games since he went and he got the last 5 minutes of both. To be fair they are on a good run so don't think he was ever going to walk into the team. hope he starts getting more minutes tho

3.) 28 Jan 2017 22:10:23
We could be doing with the guy getting good game time until the end of the season and stepping into Andy Halliday's role next year. Halliday was awful today. Gave the ball away far too cheaply on too many occasions. Crooks when fit looks comfortable on the ball and has the presence to hold that area off the pitch

4.) 28 Jan 2017 23:34:27
I agree, for a big unit he does look comfortable on the ball. Sure MW will have specified that Scunthorpe need to guarantee game time and development. Still believe he was thrown under a bus in the Tynecastle match and together with Dodoo has suffered as a result.

5.) 29 Jan 2017 15:17:33
Well said rosscoh1872, we looked really good today but Halliday was terrible again, Hyndman was the star of the show, toral was off the pace but I think he'll cum good, but the sooner rossiter is back the better, Halliday is a big bluenose, but he should be on the terraces not on the park, he's a liability

6.) 29 Jan 2017 15:29:34
Guys i honestly don't think matt crooks will b back at rangers! I think he'll be for the off in the summer. Imho we won't see crooks in a rangers shirt again!

7.) 30 Jan 2017 17:44:22
supercoop your right again mate he won't player for us and he looked to have a worse first touch than flo did when he was here.
wish everyone would get off of hallidays back I mean for god sake first its McKay who was a fans favourite then was getting pelters off of thwas a waste of a gersay and championship level at best.
then tav who is probably the most improved since arriving.
now it is hallidays turn to take abuse off of the fans who can't support without having a pop at sum1.

halliday is getting played out of his position and when he does play in an attacking sense he looks very good with very good awareness

10 Jan 2017 20:16:16
Any news on Jon Toral, thought deal would be agreed by now.

Fd

1.) 10 Jan 2017 20:32:00
He got a flight up tonight, should be finalised tomorrow afternoon.

2.) 10 Jan 2017 21:23:07
He returned to arsenal from grenada so i'd imagine only matter of time now

3.) 10 Jan 2017 21:24:33
Arrived in glasgow tonight deal should be done tomo

4.) 11 Jan 2017 09:47:10
Having medical today and should sign after that. I'd like to see Toral, Hyndman and Bates all play in Sunday's friendly.

03 Jan 2017 10:46:42
If the comments reportedly made by the former manager of Lincoln City are accurate, I hope we will not be shy making our views known to his current employer, with whom many of us spend a great deal of money.

Fd

1.) 03 Jan 2017 11:13:59
who, and what comments did he make.

2.) 03 Jan 2017 11:50:09
Ed, any idea what the guys on about?

{Ed001's Note - not a clue mate. Had me confused.}

3.) 03 Jan 2017 11:50:58
Ok I give up!

4.) 03 Jan 2017 11:58:03
Dont know how to post on main page here, i seen someone post about lafferty guy i know facebook me this morning and fitted his gas mains today in thorntonhall. don't know why he's up could be for us with all the rumours.

5.) 03 Jan 2017 12:11:54
Sutton. but which comments.

You don't really take him seriously do you? The guy is a walking parody.

6.) 03 Jan 2017 15:19:22
@fd - I've no issue with the comments, I'd be cheering if an ex Rangers player said something similar against Celtic .
On a side note did anyone catch his petted lip before the Sheep v Jambo game? He was sticking up for Cathro about never having played the game and Michael Stewart said to him ' you'll be able to confirm that not every good player makes a decent manager '! His face was priceless.

7.) 03 Jan 2017 15:24:02
Honestly guys. Is it not about time rangers gave up this silly mentality of everyone hates us and just move on. I know a lot of fans who don't have sky or bt yet can't even listen to the game on BBC radio scotland. If you keep wanting to boycott everything then it shall soon be that we won't be able tm see rangers anywhere. TV coverage is a massive part of brining sponsorship in.

8.) 03 Jan 2017 14:52:35
This vile bigot's comments are all over the Daily Rhebel's website where he is calling for Celtic to 'show no mercy' and 'finish Rangers off forever'. This from a so-called TV pundit who is supposed to show objectivity in his comments. With BT we have nobody defending us or even attempting to challenge this crazed bully's comments as one of our former captains is merely a nodding dog for Sutton. Here's one of his comments:
“The money they’ve accumulated from the Champions League, and with the chance to add to it next season by getting there again, this is the time finish them off. You don’t let them off again. "
And BT give this hate-filled bigot a platform to spew his foul slabbering to a huge audience.

{Ed001's Note - sorry what is vile or bigoted about that? You have completely lost me there.....}

9.) 03 Jan 2017 17:29:14
seriously mate have you been reading any news about rangers on the sites and the papers, its bordering on hysteria and ridicule, its not about boycotting anything, everything said about us is sheer negativity.

10.) 03 Jan 2017 17:44:31
I don't think Sutton is the man everyone is waiting to get the go ahead from to drop the axe on us, he is an ex Celtic player turned big mouth pundit nothing more.

Who cares.

{Ed001's Note - well said. That is all he is so why people care I don't understand. Same goes for every pundit, they are irrelevant.}

11.) 03 Jan 2017 20:59:53
Mind you, big Sutton is usually right when he speaks! lol HH.

12.) 03 Jan 2017 23:14:36
Why should we bother what he says I only want to listen to what we say we will be back and when that happens we won't hear from them what goes around comes around it will take a little time but once it happens I for one will enjoy it.

13.) 04 Jan 2017 12:22:34
Aye bob like when he said dembele was a horrible signing after 2 games.

14.) 05 Jan 2017 09:54:55
I am more interested in what we do than what he says! These outbursts are what keeps him in a job!
Perhaps we should e more concerned about what King said and what he has failed so far to deliver on!

17 Jul 2016 19:17:21
Think its a month now since the Copa America and Marriapa's last game for Jamaica. His contract was not renewed by his club and I not heard anything about him figuring with any other club side. If he saw match yesterday on TV and the Gers defence, he would have seen the opportunity that could await him. I have a sneaky feeling he could yet end up at Ibrox. Believe he came thru that Watford academy and will be some sort of bond with MW (although maybe Brenda too! )

Fd

1.) 17 Jul 2016 19:28:16
After yesterday's defensive display, really hope this happens!

2.) 17 Jul 2016 20:05:23
if he wasnt happy enough to come after 1st signing talks then i don't want him at all, its an honour to be a player for our club cash shouldn't be the be all and end all.

{Ed041's Note - Sadly it plays a big part now.

3.) 17 Jul 2016 21:16:52
When was the last dominant no nonsense centre half we had? Amoruso. gough weir? Warbs doing a wonderful job but needs to sort out centre half position. yesterday again showed our frailties in defence. Other than that squaday looks really strong.

4.) 17 Jul 2016 22:23:52
Cuellar, Bougherra.

5.) 17 Jul 2016 22:48:13
The problem as stated is neither of them is a leader, there is very little communication between them and neither of them tell each other to get in position like a weir, gough or amoroso would.
That's what's missing
Ricksen, Hutton, Stevie smith in his youth, Porrini, Numan etc all used to go forward but they had leaders behind them in these guys.

6.) 18 Jul 2016 09:52:19
Totally agree Northger. A decent team wuda been 2 up on us on Saturday. Hopefully warbs sorts it soon. Other than that we r doing real well. I think rossiter will be an absolute steal and along with barton will b bossing the mid. We play wonderful stuff at times albeit we sometimes try and walk the ball in the net. Looking forward to new season massively.

7.) 18 Jul 2016 08:18:45
I see there's not a lot of bears out there happy with our defence me either
I do think hill will take 1 of the CB positions he's a leader just hope he's got the legs.

But there's still a few weeks to go to the league starts and I'm confident we will get the right CB in as we are all in agreement that's a position that needs sorted ASAP
The Jamaican has still to find a club so it could still be us hope so but mcp will have other targets if it means spending money I'm sure we will have a defence sorted by 6th of August.

8.) 18 Jul 2016 10:32:24
I think people need to cut Kiernan some slack here. He was out injured for the America trip and in his first game back. Clean sheet. He is constantly left open by his defensive RB partner and Halliday as we all know, is not a CDM. We are an extremely attacking side, but the moment we put in an ACTUAL CDM i believe we will see the best of our defense.

9.) 18 Jul 2016 11:36:10
I think Wilson and kiernan get criticised most of the time deservedly so at times but what I will say is for the position they play they are still relatively young and still have a lot of learning to do, they both might grow into it, but i really agree they are both easily out jumped at set pieces, and in the premiership worries me, it was easy to spot Motherwells tactics were to sit back and hit us on the counter attack, but if they had better forwards they could have been two or three goals up before tav scored, looking forward to see how clint hill performs tomorrow.

10.) 18 Jul 2016 12:18:00
Wee McDonald bossed RK on Saturday and there is much better than him waiting this season. Do feel some sympathy for RK but don't believe is battle ready for what awaits.

11.) 18 Jul 2016 15:07:49
I think Rab and Danny are solid defenders who do a decent job under the circumstances. Two world class defenders would struggle to man a back line by themselves. For me, our week link is Tav. Never a defender. Rab is left all too often to cover RB and this stretches the CHs and leaves the defence open like an Amsterdam hooker. Don't get me wrong, CHs are by no means perfect. They need to work on set pieces and communication but MW asks a lot of them and I don't think two new cracking CHs would make any difference. It's our style of play. As long as our attackers are doing their job and scoring more than the opposition, I for one will be happy.

12.) 18 Jul 2016 17:05:55
How can Wilson lack experience mate?
He's played for Liverpool, hearts and Rangers, twice, more experience than many, played for Scotland, played in CL, no, he's just crap.

13.) 18 Jul 2016 18:06:44
Northger most of us older guys would prefer a big tamm forsyth type player, the big guy didn't pussy foot about, heavy but fair tackling defender, oh for another big tam, never be seen again at our place.

14.) 18 Jul 2016 19:10:42
Danny Wilson in his first spell with us looked outstanding even as a raw teenager in spl and CL. It is sorely evident that Sir Davie gave him the leadership/ assurance he required. As I think Northger said. they do not communicate at all and neither do they take ownership. We need a no nonsense man like Bomber Graham Roberts gough or butcher. I don't doubt MW is doing his best to rectify situation. Is mariappa of that ilk? Anyone shed any light?

15.) 18 Jul 2016 23:59:17
My honest opinion is that Wilson is a lot better than keirnan, I wanted big rob to b the answer to our commanding cb issues but I'm loathed to believe he's even as good as mcgregor and is actually pulling Wilson down to his level now, Wilson has critics I know but the simple facts r he is a better defender, passers and is even more dominant than keirnan, my opinion of coursr.

Believe Ross County game showed that Senderos should be in the starting 11 from now on. At this level his pedegree stood out and he looked very committed. The reports of Rob Kiernan being disrespected by supporters, if true, are disgraceful. The lad has tried hard but has been struggling as long as I can recall, both this season and this. For me Senderos should now get a run.

Fd

1.) 06 Feb 2017 22:16:27
Yes you might think am crackers but al tell you this senderos will be a rock for us and he will score at parkhead ., he is more of a leader than hill and when I watch him the more game time he gets and a run of games the better he will be, and maybe just maybe drag taveneir out and play hodson and play Danny Wilson as a defender midfielder and I reckon Wilson will be playing that role this Sunday. Here's hoping

2.) 07 Feb 2017 13:02:54
Wilson might actually e a good call to fill in for DM
He can defend and has a good range of passes on him.

Halliday just isn't a DM at all

but 442 is the answer for me

dodoo needs to start IMO

3.) 08 Feb 2017 13:33:42
ivlark, think your suggestion of Wilson in the DM role has merit if he is fit and mobile enough, certainly worth considering. Dodoo should definately be getting game time, either from the start or regularly off the bench. I would like to see 442

Fod
Tav
Senderos
Hill
Wallace
Hyndman
Toral
Wilson
Mckay
Miller
Dodoo

03 Feb 2017 15:46:50
Guys as painful as it is we now need to focus on winning next game, making second place our own, and going on cup run.

Fd

1.) 03 Feb 2017 16:24:42
dont think it will happen unless he makes drastic changes and he won't because he thinks he is right all of the time

2.) 03 Feb 2017 17:03:36
We'll go on a good cup run until we're drawn against hearts, sheep or dhims away then we're doomed.

3.) 03 Feb 2017 20:42:28
You can almost see the team for Saturday with Halliday and Kiernan still in position. It defies belief and is exactly what will destroy what is left of Warburton's credibility.

01 Feb 2017 21:56:42
Okay so we got cuffed tonight and as is to expedted we are sore and cursing. Looking forward to hearing MW's reaction but for me we got the team and the tactics wrong and also need to applaud determination and fight of Hearts.

Looks like we learned nothing from the Nov 30 defeat and December victory over them. Against Hearts we need to play Plan B and not always passing thru the midfield. Know that Garner is missing but this Hearts team was playing together for the first time and were there for beating. Very disappointing MW.

Fd

25 Jan 2017 22:17:22
Just noticed Hardie scored for Raith against Hearts tonight coming off the bench.

Fd

1.) 25 Jan 2017 22:36:14
looked good for us under staurt mcccall to just pity lad not got his chance under Warburton.

2.) 26 Jan 2017 00:31:07
Hes struggled badly for goals this season while out on loan I honestly can't see him making the grade

3.) 26 Jan 2017 00:31:07
Hes struggled badly for goals this season while out on loan I honestly can't see him making the grade

4.) 26 Jan 2017 05:56:27
To be fair he struggled for goals for St Mirren who have been awful. He will get more chances with Raith.

5.) 26 Jan 2017 15:06:49
hardie isn't the answer as we have strikers that struggle to score here already don't want another one

21 Jan 2017 19:41:35
Lads, Mark McGee's post match comments, get ready for battle at Fir Park next week!

"I'm speechless, I've not spent a lot of time talking to the players in there because I've got nothing to say to them - I'm lost for words. I can't believe what I saw in the last ten minutes of the game"

Fd

1.) 21 Jan 2017 20:04:30
Massive over exaggeration when describing the last goal as a ridiculous one to lose. Thought Rangers deserved to win so don't know why he reacted like that.

2.) 21 Jan 2017 21:11:00
McGee's reaction today is the funniest thing I've seen all season
I was very angry with our performance today - No shots on taget for 80 mins against a team like that is very very poor
McGee's reaction made me feel a lot better though

3.) 21 Jan 2017 21:11:45
We need a big striker simple as that. well done Kenny but he drops deep alot. think we should try McKay out right hand side as well. he would get more joy with his crosses on his favoured foot

4.) 21 Jan 2017 22:36:25
McGhee hates us, that is pretty obvious and for me the feeling is mutual. If Waghorn, Windass and Hyndman had been on from the start I am pretty sure it would have been all over long before half time.

Windass showed significantly more strength in driving us forward and that is no disrespect to Toral who had a decent first game and Waghorn was immense when he came off the bench, which again is no disrespect to MOH who put in a decent shift. As for Hyndman he is a class player and did more in the short time he was on the park than Holt did for the previous two thirds of the game.

At the end a good result but we are poor defensively and need a captain that can lead by example and drive the team forward when we are struggling.

5.) 22 Jan 2017 20:42:47
Seemingly ok for his teams to lose 9 and 7 to the mhanks but not to lose 2-1 in a game they didn't deserve anything from. Bitter, bitter man

Appalling performance today. Neither Halliday or Kiernan should have started the match. The goal now is to secure second place and a siege mentality is required to have any chance. Get McLeish, Walter and Rae around the place this week for goodness sake and put longer term plans on hold. Anybody know why Toral and Senderos not included in squad today?

Agree Fraser52. I am looking forward to seeing how they line up and play tomorrow against Morton. The players must have been negatively impacted by the actions of the management team and hope tomorrow we all rise to the occasion.
