What's everyone's thoughts about Beale not having a player up top for a counter attack on opposition corner kicks. I don't like and would prefer a player up the park. P. S. them 2 penalties were a joke yesterday.

Agree Sima, was screaming yesterday for Matondo to stay up near halfway line for ball clearing. Gives the opposition to think about. .

It seems to be the way it's going at the moment with a lot of teams packing thier own box at set pieces. Probably an analytics thing with technology dictating the best thing to do.
Thought our penalty yesterday was a stonewaller, you can't pull a jersey in the box with VAR. Pet hate of mine and should always be a penalty.

Sima I would definitely put a fast player just in our half, Morton isn't a penalty, but the Rangers one was, the referee had no option after var told him, you can't grab a man jerseys went attacking the ball, he made an arse of the Morton one tho, broadfoot caught dessers foot then stood on the ball, watched it back a few times, no blue glasses on here my honest opinion on both.

Beale about I agree it wasn't a oenalty, where I disagree is when you say the ref has no option, a couple of times last season the ref in epl matches went and looked at the monitor and backed his own decision not to give the penalty.
Our refs are spineless. The camera from behind the goal that showed dessers and the defender running towards the box clearly showed there was no foul.

Beale, take the blue tints aff, none of them were pens. if they gave the one we got on a consistent basis there would be 10 pens a game mate. we would be absolutely fuming if that was given against us on 3rd september.

Interesting the Scottish Beeb report after the game, they made a big thing about our penalty being given after a long VAR review, never mentioned that their penalty was reviewed by VAR at all.

I'd like us to hit the Norwegian/ Swedish leagues and stay as far away from the English championship as possible. Get our scouts in South America instead of Stoke city and the likes. I think Beale over estimates the English 2nd tier.
