As I stated couple of weeks back kenny McLean will be announced this week, I still don't know why we are going to pay a fee for a 33 year old who isn't better than what we have .

Slipper

1.) 24 Jun 2024 20:22:38
If that the cause is simply because he’s Scottish. He know the league and he will qualify as a home grown player for euro criteria…. Also he was the POTY last season and is very early injured…. We need experience we can’t have a team full of 19/ 20 year old. There needs to be a few old heads to guild them when times get tough….

2.) 24 Jun 2024 20:39:40
Don't agree with this one. 33 and will have absolutely no sell on value.

3.) 24 Jun 2024 20:40:53
Him. and barron fit european quota.

4.) 24 Jun 2024 20:47:32
I'd not mind McLean if we get him for a decent fee and would he bring more than lunstrum? I'd say yes he would so when many have asked about experience he'd do a job imo also he's rarely injured.

5.) 24 jun 2024 20:50:54
better all round player than most of what we have, pity at norwich, we’re mcdowal and cantwelll weren’t, very experienced and bluenose, why not, good man to have on your side.

6.) 24 Jun 2024 21:04:51
Let’s try win the league with players what no one has heard of for a sell on! We need players who know the league and know Rangers.

7.) 24 Jun 2024 21:07:29
I just hope if he does sign he brings in the experience and quality Arfield done.

8.) 24 Jun 2024 21:18:18
Id take him for sure. Good head to have around. But I just can't see us spending £ms to get him, which presumably it would require.

9.) 24 Jun 2024 21:23:33
Slipper, he's just had the best season of his career, reborn in a new position, played 50 games at 31/ 32, fits the HG quota and is a diehard rangers fan.

I wonder why we're signing him?

10.) 24 Jun 2024 21:46:42
Tj think av already explained to you in my last post my reasons for not wanting to spend the money on him . Everybody has there own opinion and mines is he’s not good enough to improve us . am not buying the Norwich best player cause there gash . New position? Were we going to play him? I would say only midfield and that’s always been his natural position.

11.) 24 Jun 2024 21:47:15
I'm underwhelmed by this tbh.

12.) 24 Jun 2024 22:07:18
Deadpan@TheRef and that avatar makes it better??.

13.) 24 Jun 2024 22:08:35
Whats the new position/ role he was playing in?
If he was free i don't think many would argue but he's not. "Rarely injured" watch this space.

14.) 24 Jun 2024 22:29:17
I’m sorry but he’s worse than a man down.

15.) 24 Jun 2024 22:37:04
Same guys that wanted to spend 6m on Shankland… don’t want McLean because of sell on value! ??.

16.) 24 Jun 2024 22:54:57
He's early injured what does that mean?

17.) 24 Jun 2024 22:57:04
POTY for your club is a bit different from POTY in the league.

18.) 25 Jun 2024 01:41:33
Andymc you got it spot on, he will be signed for when the tough times arrive, as they surely will. He has leadership qualities and is a diehard, like others before him who were not blessed with super skills but he will run through walls for us and lead by example. He's one for me.

19.) 25 Jun 2024 03:11:30
I don't get why we would bin Jack (The right thing to do) and then buy an older and injured player just to keep the quota.

20.) 25 Jun 2024 07:06:46
It's all good and well Kenny McLean helping with the Scottish quota for Europe but if he's the type of homegrown talent we're looking to sign, we won't be in Europe very long.

21.) 25 Jun 2024 07:14:30
Slipper scotty arfield a higher quality midfielder to kenny mclean mate and different midfield positions, as arfield was more of an attacking midfielder, who'd score goals by making those clever, direct runs beyond the striker ?He was a superb player for us ???.

22.) 25 Jun 2024 07:37:39
Novo injured player?

23.) 25 Jun 2024 08:19:28
Novo how many games did Jack play compared to Kenny this year? Talking nonsense pal.

24.) 25 Jun 2024 11:27:06
doubt it wiuld be announced this week he’ll probablg have a short vacation this week and Rangers wouldn't announce a signing on a weekend.

25.) 25 Jun 2024 12:13:07
Always liked McLean but cannot see us spending much on him, be stupid at his age, is there a possibility of player trading, Hagi, Lawrence, or Dowell being involved, they have a new manager as well so this could linger all summer if any truth in it but can’t see it happening on a straight transfer.

26.) 25 Jun 2024 13:01:36
God help us signing a donkey like McLean, if we want to spend millions on a Scottish midfielder then buy Miller or if its just we need more Scots then buy Shankland. McLean is 33 and he`s no Steve Davis . We need better than him.

12 Jun 2024 22:22:23
The boy Nathaniel Adjei looks a unit anybody else seen this? Is this a genuine interest?

Slipper

1.) 12 Jun 2024 22:32:42
Yes. The club were really keen on him in January before he joined Lorient.

He had a loan with obligation to buy with Lorient with the condition that Lorient survived relegation which they didn't. They have exclusivity on him until 15th June but they can't afford to buy him.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 22:39:40
Not heard his name, big lad o. o. c soon, CH at Lorient was on loan at Hammarby 21, don't know if we're looking tbh.

3.) 12 Jun 2024 22:51:48
I really hope there is some substance to this one he looks a beast. I was disappointed when there was apparent interest in the January window and it didn't materialize.

4.) 12 Jun 2024 22:59:09
Sorry from Hamnarby.

5.) 12 Jun 2024 23:56:49
Fork, looks like this guy has a couple more years in his contract at Hammarby and they're looking for c€6m for him per some tweets. Not sure where that would leave us.

6.) 13 Jun 2024 06:00:53
Sorry yo jimbo was looking at the loan contract period, I'm a Diddy lol?.

05 Jun 2024 19:52:55
Supposedly working on kenny McLean deal . Hope this isn't true he's not an improvement on lundstrum and jack ?.

Slipper

1.) 05 Jun 2024 20:16:34
He'll be an instant improvement on Jack, because he'll be fit, and able to play.

2.) 05 Jun 2024 20:18:06
He is as physically robust averaged 43 games per season over 13 years, I would say that's an improvement on RJ, Availability is a top priority. Lunnys goal return 1 per 17 games, KM 1 per 9 games. 39 international caps and 2 goals. He is 2 years older though so I would say 2 good seasons in his legs. If the fee was reasonable I don't see any reason why not.

3.) 05 Jun 2024 20:40:10
Don't underestimate Mclean. He was voted player of the year for a decent Norwich side after playing
in every league game so he's certainly an improvement on Jack. I would take him in a heartbeat.

4.) 05 Jun 2024 20:45:01
Wouldn’t be surprised, actually wouldn’t be surprised if he’s captain next season if we don’t sign McNair. He’s an experienced international, plays midfield, and is a Rangers man. Maybe not the greatest player but I’d like to see him at Ibrox, he will certainly play for the badge.

5.) 05 Jun 2024 20:50:38
Upgrade on Jack all day long. Can play more than 2 games in a row without missing 6 months. Player of the year for his club the season gone. Not a first time starter every week perhaps but then not all our players can be young lads. Could be a Davo type character and a leader on and off the park.

6.) 05 Jun 2024 21:03:15
Between him and Laim Kelly I’m really struggling to understand our transfer strategy. It’s obviously very early in the window so no need to panic but Jesus, this has been a tough start to the window. I think Shankland would honestly top me right now.

7.) 05 Jun 2024 21:10:10
Not sure how an attacking midfielder compares to 2 defensive ones.

8.) 05 Jun 2024 21:11:42
We need a squad .
Free
Scottish
Rangers man
Plenty experience

Gets my vote so long as his wages are fair.

9.) 05 Jun 2024 21:26:59
32 years old with 2 years left to run so will probably take 3/ 4m to get him but us he an improvement on what we've let go.

10.) 05 Jun 2024 21:28:38
A step back if this goes through.

11.) 05 Jun 2024 21:49:40
We all know Jack was a crock but he was a decent player at best . We need better … he wouldn’t play before raskin and diomande. When I watched him the other week he was t playing attacking midfield he was more in the holding role same as jack and lundstrum.
Norwich best player last season but cannot compare Norwich to us. He’s bang average.

12.) 05 Jun 2024 21:50:41
4th official already reported hours ago that there is nothing in this. How factual that is I'm unsure but he's usually reliable from what I've seen.

13.) 05 Jun 2024 22:01:29
Walter a free? He’s got 2 years on his contract he’s going to cost 2/ 3 million.

14.) 05 Jun 2024 22:02:07
Dado, the window isn’t even open yet and already you’ve got your Christmas tree down ?.

15.) 05 Jun 2024 22:03:48
Slipper you quite clearly don't watch the championship. He was absolutely outstanding last season and would be a major upgrade. Easily Norwich's top 2 players, along with sara.

16.) 05 Jun 2024 22:05:42
Hes better than lindstram and fitter than jack.

17.) 05 Jun 2024 22:21:20
If we are targeting young foreign players we will need some experience added to the squad. McLean if a free would be a great addition.

18.) 05 Jun 2024 22:23:18
Tj a do watch the championship and Norwich we’re struggling to make the play offs, leeds destroyed them and if that’s the standard we are looking to sign as a first team player and he will be because of the fee then we are going wrong direction . the boy Barron would be a better option for a Scottish player. Glen kamara was in a better leeds team and he ended up not at the standard to help us win more leagues .
It wouldn’t surprise me seeing Jack more in the euros than KM.

19.) 05 Jun 2024 22:53:44
I don’t care what anyone says! This lad would do a job for us and add experience and quality in to what is a young midfield as things stand.

I’m still pretty annoyed we haven’t signed Barron yet as well though! That’ll be another opportunity missed if we don’t get him!

20.) 05 Jun 2024 23:05:08
McLean is a big NO for me, rather take a gamble on a young kid than McLean, backwards step.

21.) 05 Jun 2024 23:12:34
Thank goodness he is a rangers man otherwise it would be a no. Only reason.

22.) 05 Jun 2024 23:53:39
Be far better with S Armstrong.

23.) 06 Jun 2024 00:06:00
Posted this last week about McLean coming I’m told it’s happening already in talks with us Norwich will not be hard to deal with apparently.

24.) 06 Jun 2024 01:32:49
Slipper you saying Jack was only ever a decent player? In his prime he was a great midfielder for us.

25.) 06 Jun 2024 05:13:57
Him and Kelly are too also help with the Scottish quota n could do worse McLean would do a job, knows what we are about experience for any young players, n somdy that's also played in Scotland.

26.) 06 Jun 2024 07:36:59
Pauly. great? Really? Raise your expectations! Some greats posts here with McLean stats. Never realised how good he was for Norwich and has changed my opinion on him as a potential signing.

27.) 06 Jun 2024 08:08:54
David he isn’t an attacking midfielder he is a CM that can play DM or AM but he ain’t got good stats for a AM.

He isn’t the required standard and slower than me.

28.) 06 Jun 2024 09:44:13
Howwazthat aye Jack was a great player for us in his prime, certainly better than 'decent' how is that a mad statement?

29.) 06 Jun 2024 09:46:30
Slipper,

McLean was absolutely excellent for Norwich this season, ended up their captain and PoTY.

Also played 50 odd games.

Not his fault the Norwich manager was useless.

If we go down your route with a team of children we will have a season like Chelsea.

30.) 06 Jun 2024 11:20:29
Tj you honestly think he would be a starter? We have midfield experience in there nobody is saying a team of kids but we can do better than paying 2/ 3 million for a 32 year old who in my opinion isn’t any better than guys we have released. As someone says if he wasn’t a rangers fan he wouldn’t be considered. Comparing a POTY at Norwich to us is ludicrous.

Put it another way would he get in the dark sides midfield? We need to improve our squad with not throwing money away. On about team of kids Lennon Miller is 17 and running the show at Motherwell that’s players we should be encouraging to play for us.

31.) 06 Jun 2024 11:48:39
Loves the club and would be a decent addition.

32.) 06 Jun 2024 12:51:33
I'd say good at best Paul. A few decent games but never a real run of dominant form for me. Lucky to play alongside Davis at his peak - now there's a great.

05 Sep 2023 10:49:35
Kevin Muscat early 7/ 2 favourite to replace Beale . do we think this is a possible indication the rumour below could possibly be true about the 500k release clause?

Slipper

1.) 05 Sep 2023 11:29:00
Whoever takes over they won't need to do much to do a better job than Beale. A tailors dummy with a mole stuck on it would do a better job than him.

2.) 05 Sep 2023 11:31:16
Slipper I think the players are part of the issue as well Alfredo is better than what we brought in Kent has never been replaced we sold colak and fashion who were better than what we brought in I think this transfer window has been a disaster I think Danilo will be good if he ever gets game time under Beale but lammers and dessers are not good enough to be at rangers imo.

3.) 05 Sep 2023 11:36:36
Fiver for me on Gattuso and another fiver on Potter . Did Muscot replace Pogglycostou?

4.) 05 Sep 2023 11:51:23
RFC … I don’t think Beale is capable of getting the best out the players, I thought seeing Matondo early in the pre season he was possibly going to improve but Sunday tells you he shouldn’t be at ibrox! This proves in SG time it was him that run the show regardless what was said about Beale because the team then grafted for each other and played to the best of their ability. I was 100 percent behind Beale but for a rangers team to show that attitude on Sunday it’s got to be down to the negative manager tactics and starting 11 it’s not the first mistakes have been made with his selections.

5.) 05 Sep 2023 11:56:05
Would welcome Muscat or Potter. Would love Gattuso.

6.) 05 Sep 2023 11:58:30
@ rfc22

I actually think Lammers and Dessers can play
I wouldn’t completely say they are disasters.

7.) 05 Sep 2023 12:00:20
Muscat (correction) . I said that if the bookies get interested it begins and Mick is in bother and no way back .

8.) 05 Sep 2023 12:09:42
Day 2 of why Beale is still in a job and the board are questioning Vars decisions. Does that mean he still has their backing and now they are making excuses for his failings as a manager. Surely not.

9.) 05 Sep 2023 12:12:46
It’s the bookies doing this that is causing the rumours in my opinion. I don’t want him as manager anymore never wanted him.

Don’t know much about what muscat has done.

Potter I would take if it could be done.

Gattuso can someone tell me what he has done as a manager.

10.) 05 Sep 2023 12:14:47
DAVIE I agree think the bookies get wind of things and start the betting, seen some reports there has been contact already with muscats reps … could just be wild rumours but definitely think Beale is on a risky nail . rangers are a club with integrity and usually give the managers a chance but Beale wasn’t hesitant leaving with SG so our board should be ruthless for the sake of the club . It’s turned out the wrong appointment and need to move on quickly.

11.) 05 Sep 2023 12:22:11
You couldn’t be more wrong, Davie, these managerial odds are a well known farce. If you dropped £50 on Scott Brown being the next Rangers manager his odds would improve. It doesn’t take a lot of money to influence that market.

12.) 05 Sep 2023 12:23:07
GMS yes I would be happy with Gattuso and his wife would like it too, no compen required and no messing with him or you're out.

Lammers is not a winger he's 6'3" and good in the air, Danilo beside him would work so would Roofe.

Sima and Dessers not good enough.

13.) 05 Sep 2023 12:34:21
Lets go for Muscat because he`s Australian and that's flavour of the month at the moment . God save us from another experiment in charge, hopefully this is just another wild rumour. As for Gattuso, hot head player who is now a hot head manager, has done nothing as a manager but always seems to cause a ruck wherever he goes . Don`t think we can afford Potter but there has to be better managers available that Muscat and Gattuso.

14.) 05 Sep 2023 12:36:20
Previous posters have indicated that it's very unlikely he will be sacked. I wouldn't be surprised if he get till the cup final if he isn't put out before that. If he can find the league form we showed last 6 months of the season we will be fine but so far this season it looks to be a dud.

15.) 05 Sep 2023 12:36:27
I had high hopes this board would be a lot more ruthless than the last passive lot, but I fear they'll do the exact same as last time and only act when it's too late.
If Beale is allowed to continue then we are done for. Stick an incompetent fool in charge of anything and it will only end in disaster.

16.) 05 Sep 2023 12:39:15
Verdant nope I'm right, got successful bookie as a close friend and no mug, this is something they see and get involved in . A bet on Brown by mentally unstable person would not change the odds that's a ridiculous thing to say, if you think a bet like that would influence any other halfwit gambler you need your head wobbled.

They have more than a sniff of what's going on and it's going to increase across the business. Beale is in bother bet on that mate.

17.) 05 Sep 2023 12:47:15
wslgers We could afford Potter and Reid and Billy is worth sounding out provisionally . Gattuso and Muscat would be an improvement on Beale and his pals that's it really, just possibles I would have a wee punt on for sport.

18.) 05 Sep 2023 12:49:08
Muscat and gattuso are not what we need. Potter or knusten are what the club needs.

19.) 05 Sep 2023 12:59:08
Gattuso managed

AC Milan
Napoli
Valencia

So you saying our next managers had had to have won something storm

Why don't you suggest some names.

20.) 05 Sep 2023 13:03:24
A bit unfair slipper there is definitely some skill in players we've signed just Beale chop and change not getting best out of them . needs to settle on a starting 11 this rotation stuff is bull why do smaller teams like us and others copy the likes of Barcelona Madrid city when they can rotate because Thier back up players are at 50million level minimum ??

We should be playing our strongest 11 every week until injury or player needs a rest or the team loses

Team that wins plays following week it's simple 5hats how you get consistency and how you get players to know each others game.

Oh and here's a though maybe we should try playing players in right positions for once ?.

21.) 05 Sep 2023 13:12:30
Davie as much as I'd like to see gattuso and him do well his record is really poor and always seems to fall out of work within a short time

Muscat a better bet Australian title and took ages mid table team and won league with them Japan.

22.) 05 Sep 2023 13:14:37
Old blue eyes I'm affraid they are too worried about people like Barry Ferguson spouting you can't sack a guy 4 games into a season?

Rather than looking at it he's been in job a year and we look worse and he's totally unprepared or has a clear plan or tactic.

23.) 05 Sep 2023 13:29:35
Aye Gattuso has conned 3 major clubs according to some people, he won't have learned anything at all apparently either. Long shot yes but Beale wasn't even a shot it was a wild guess by somebody, if he's of use then Gerrard would want him . he doesn't .

Gattuso might not respect know nothing club owners or fools and of course that's a problem but if he was that bad then 2 major clubs would not have taken a chance after the first one, wee punt that's all don't mind losing a fiver .

24.) 05 Sep 2023 13:38:08
Potter is a NO go, £30 million in bank and will walk into an EPL team once the sacking start, Muscat looks a good shout and would suit both parties, highly thought of not sure of what type of football he plays but winning the Japanese league is a harder job than winning this one, was happy with Beale but not going for it in first half on Sunday was criminal ??.

25.) 05 Sep 2023 13:38:59
I accept the current non football men ties and blazers would not fancy Gattuso but stranger things have happened like that Pedro guy whoever he was and Beale who had done nothing in club management.

26.) 05 Sep 2023 13:42:15
Surely Beale needs to stay until Jan at least - a new manager is unlikely to win the league as it’ll not be his players and he needs to get up to speed with the league - moving beale now is madness - also gattuso loved him as a player but has he not been gash as a manager so far and muscat may not work just because flange did - I think it all sounds a bit hasty - I know they also had chances but Lammers has to score matondo could have scored and dessers goal imo could have stood - if we won 2-1 would there be this backlash against beale - I’m for him staying until Jan ??????.

27.) 05 Sep 2023 13:49:06
And knowledge of cheaper transfer markets could maybe find some jem's like Ange did ?.

28.) 05 Sep 2023 14:31:13
The Olympiacos, Killie and Morton games were enough for me, chaotic and quite the range of knowing nothing and learning nothing. Then things just got worse and that was almost impossible.

This was a guy hoping to keep PSV down to 5 with 5 mins to go it was dreadful.

Also a guy who puts no importance in to left sided players being able to use a left foot, it's like some kind of weird crab like tactic, as is the lack of support and balance on both flanks . So we have a left winger/ roadrunner who couldn't hit a bison on the arse with a banjo and now a left back who may well have had his boots on the wrong feet it was that ridiculous.

29.) 05 Sep 2023 15:56:50
Gofor I asked what has he done as a manager he was poor in every job you mentioned and you have also mentioned further up he has a poor record ? you just trying to have a go at me for the sake of it and it’s embarrassing and I have mentioned managers obviously reading isn’t your strongest point ?.

30.) 05 Sep 2023 20:42:43
“ Killie and Morton games were enough for me, chaotic and quite the range of knowing nothing and learning nothing. ”

Rangers played a 4-3-3 against Kilmarnock with two box to box midfielders and lost 1-0. Shortly after that Celtic went to Rugby Park and okayed the EXACT SAME SYSTEM and got beat 1-0. How is that for learning nothing? Celtic had the benefit of seeing our match and how it went against this new look Kilmarnock side and still made the same errors.

Also, don't Kilmarnock deserve a lot of credit for just playing well to get those results? They deserved their victory over Celtic too they are well drilled and it looks like some of their new signings might have some quality.

31.) 05 Sep 2023 16:56:43
Is this the same Kevin Muscat that went into a derby other week too of the table against 2nd bottom yokohama fc and got scudded 4-1 and who now sit 2 points off the top with 8 games left? Very staunch. I'm absolutely embarrassed by the comments I've seen on here and on twitter. No surrender eh.

32.) 06 Sep 2023 04:52:23
Muscat LMFAO, are you all serious, if that is who we are bridging in, just hand the league and cup to celtic now.

How about the manager from Bodo, or even better bring GIO back, seeing we missed the chance to get Gerrard back in, seeing the board member who forced him out is long gone.

33.) 06 Sep 2023 13:28:14
VerdantAbyss, Rangers went to Kilmarnock and played 2 box to box midfielders in a midfield three? Who would that be out of Raskin, Lundstram and Dowell? We left our attacking midfielder Cantwell sitting on the bench. As for Celtic they always play that way so with their record against the wee clubs why would they change . If some of Kilmarnocks new signing look like quality which of them would get a game for us? As I recall the MOTM against us was Lewis Mayo who we just sold to them for £250,000. What they had was the right attitude, organisation and a game plan all instilled in them by a rubbish manager and all missing from our side who have a super coach . Says it all really.

34.) 06 Sep 2023 15:54:08
Ross County went to Killie too, well run club for a village team aye, one guy does put his money where his mouth is without guarantees he won't lose it .

But of course they learned something before going, possibly Killie are garbage managed by a hoofball exponent.

Roos County are in Dingwall to save you googling .

There are gonks on here who just want to argue on top of giving it "I love Ange and I miss him"

23 Aug 2023 20:22:33
First time post here, been told earlier Jesse Lingard a target for Beale? Might be just a rumour just putting it out there.

Slipper

1.) 23 Aug 2023 21:22:12
I heard on TalkSport that he's close to returning to West Ham.

2.) 23 Aug 2023 21:23:35
Another whopper.

Defo a whopper the wages he's on the only thing he's looking for is who can pay him the most.

More interested in tiktok and inventing goal celebrations than knocking down.

And before ye start, Cantwell enjoys a tiktok and what not but his effort is 2nd to none.

Don’t get this signing, he’s going to cost min 2 million and offer nothing different to what we have.
