These transfer dealings are beginning to be embarrassing, is he coming or isn’t he? It proves one - we are skint.

12 Jun 2024 17:55:16
Why does it prove that carrick? Do you not think we will spend same as last season? 20 mill ish?

12 Jun 2024 18:36:35
I don't think it proves anything like us being skint. I think we are being used by agents to get their players better money or different leagues. Many moving parts to a transfer, 2 sometimes more clubs, agents, the player themself plus any outside influences family friends etc. I would rather get players who are interested in being part of this rebuild.

The transfer window isn’t even open yet but it’s proves we’re skint. Jog on ya bampot.

We're skint carrick ? aye whatever pal ?.

Patience Carrick. I am happy with our transfer strategy so far. Different markets and buying young hungry players. Not everyone will hit the ground running but cannot be worse than watching what we have this season ?.

12 Jun 2024 19:13:13
Jesus Christ what is wrong with people ? transfer window not even open yet and we are skint ?.

Watch out for the doom-mongers.

Paul your point is valid but we wasted a lot of transfer money on players not worth that amount, we’re now going to sell at a loss after one season. Of course I want to be wrong about the club being skint, but the vibes aren’t good?

Some fans aren’t realists. If we over spend and waste money they complain. When the club is being prudent and looking for player investment for a greater return in the future they are using a correct model. Ok if they are successful either model the negative will be a constant rotation of players. I have read that the English clubs are now looking at young Scottish players at the academies and therefore the clubs will lose out i. e. we will potentially need to back fill with players from abroad in late teens and early twenties. The draw from EPL will always attract the young academy players. They would need to be exceptional to be part of the First team, and we don’t have a good record of promoting the youth. Personally I think many fans would put too much stress and expectation on the young players. There haven’t been many in the last 10 years who have made it and become regulars.

Don’t think we are skint Carrick but merely trying to be frugal in the transfer market.
If we get it right these players might have a decent sell on value in the future.
Too many players have left Rangers for Zilch last season and this transfer window which is not good enough.
A balance between youth and experience would be great to put a successful team on the park, and meet our player trading model.
