Told this afternoon that Tavernier and Goldson has both been told any suitable offers and they will be sold, Rangers are supposedly lowering our wage budget.

If my stars info is accurate then I would hazard a guess that they are no longer in the managers plans going forward so if they did stay they wouldn’t be regular starters. if that’s the case it would be expensive to have them sitting about. Unless the manager wants to play Russian roulette.

Goldson and Tav are on nearly 70k between them a bit more or less give or take as I can’t be exact. It’s to much money per week for all the mistakes and lack of trophies.
I wish them the best in the world if they move but times are changing, somebody in the SPL shouldn’t really be on that wage never mind 2 guys that haven’t been great.
Although as much as I agree that there time is up, we need to be getting in better replacements with potential on less money, easier said than done. If we get new players for those 2 positions are they going to be fit as much as Tav and Connor were- that’s the only part of this that I think we might miss them game availability. Tav I remember way fonder than Connor tbh.

Why would the club contact 0ayers and tell them they will be sold, when no bids have been made, and the players are contracted for next season?
If no bids are made how are the guys to feel after being told to leave by the club? Seems amateurish.

Rangers three main scorers last season were Desers, Sima, and Tavernier. We’ve already lost Suma. People want Dessers and Tavernier gone too. We would have no goal threat. I highly doubt that is what will happen. The board is more pragmatic.
Once we sign these free scoring wingers who can get 30+ goals and assists each season then conversations about Tavernier can be had. Until then, we need our captain.

Players just wouldn’t sign for us. People mention things like pay as you play contracts, or low wages with all performance related add-ons, but how often do you hear about a player agreeing to this? Almost never. Players want a guaranteed income and the best wage they can get.
Scotland is a backwater of football. One way we can motivate players from other countries to come here and play football is more money. We certainly can’t sell them on the weather.
