Onyewu currently discussing contract opportunities with MW. Club are impressed with him - it'll be short term with an extension in contract.

I hope he doesn't get a contract he's 34 years old and brings no value it's not like a maldini or a cannavaro over the hill with experience at top level lately.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 02:04:16
Bobby 72 get a grip what cause he 34 he adds no value! Mmmmmm david wier ring a bell kenny Miller? The guy was an american international has bags of experiance which is what we missed badly him and hill will do damage in scotland no problem. They will give leadership and pressense which we lacked badly last year. Am more than happy with him and if mw likes who can argue with that another free signing canny wack it now just a striker and selik are getting pumped off us lol 55 and counting!

3.) 05 Jul 2016 02:08:51
Can see Warbs offering the big American a 6 month contract, he looks solid and if anyone can get the best out a player its our Manager.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 06:02:44
Ironic you mention Maldini considering the guy played at the heart of defence for what team. AC Milan! The guys a monster! Great signing!

5.) 05 Jul 2016 06:25:05
Really do get a good feeling about this guy, he's played for some decent teams and now with him and Hill as our CB's Wilson and Kiernan can only develop and fight for the jersey. Can also see Warbs maybe rotating! Hill with Kiernan then Wilson with Onyewu, Hill and Wilson are both lefty's me thinks. All we need now are two out and out strikers and I think Warbs will hit the loan market for them instead of buying a player with the little money we have. Can't see too many strikers out of contract at the level we want and age is a bigger factor.

6.) 05 Jul 2016 06:38:56
We have a manager who has us playing the best football we have played in years, who brought in player that if we were honest we had never of heard of who amazed us all yet whenever he wants to look at or bring someone in people on here know better. Maybe we shouldn't offer him a new deal maybe we should get someone off of here. Trust the gaffer he is there for a reason.

7.) 05 Jul 2016 08:40:21
Sorry bobby72,totally disagree with you where onyewu is concerned, the guys have gave you more than enough other examples to chew over,34 years old is not extremely old for a centre half anyway, if his fitness is fine he'll have at least 3/ 4 good years left in him, this guy was a class act and our manager is brilliant at getting players back to what they were, too many people continually doubt on here.

8.) 05 Jul 2016 10:48:27
If the gaffer likes him that'll do for me. does anyone know What kind of deal six months with an option?

9.) 05 Jul 2016 11:33:19
Hasn't the guy got about 70 caps for the USA? I know they aren't the best but he's still someone they seen as a mainstay at international level.

He might not have played when at Milan but he obviously done something to earn that move.

As said above I really think Hill will partner Kiernan and this guy will partner Wilson to help both of them develop further their knowledge of the game, been proven in the past Wilson is a far better player with a solid experienced CB next to him.

10.) 05 Jul 2016 11:43:47
the guys will be the fittest guy in our squad bobby72 have u seen him he is a big solid defender with no body fat at all and if warbs wants him ill take him.
I was dubious at first till I researched him guy looks like he will do fine.

ANDY1872 I hope you are wrong with the rotating the defence its okay to do that with midfield we should be sticking with the best partnership in defence though so they know each others style of play.

11.) 05 Jul 2016 11:29:31
I understand where you're coming from warbs but this big American dude hasn't played much in 14 months I hope if we do sign him on a short term deal that I am proven wrong but I have my doubts.

12.) 05 Jul 2016 11:53:57
how old was Big Marv when he came?

13.) 05 Jul 2016 12:01:30
David Weir was 37 when he signed for us. was he over the hill ana? I'd take any CB to replace Wilson.

14.) 05 Jul 2016 12:28:51
Onyewu (if he signs) and hill will be the first choice partnership next season.

15.) 05 Jul 2016 17:05:46
M3LVO replying to your post . Kenny Miller played for Derby and made 30 appearances for them then signed with Rangers in 2008-2011 made 81 appearances. Then signed for Vancouver and made xxxx many appearances my point is onyewu hasn't played at top level since Charlton athletic back in 2015 he made 3 appearances for them . And at 34 now I believe he's a high risk especially with dembele and Roberts in the Celtic team can onyewu keep the legs ticking over? I don't doubt mark warburton or his signings but I think he should re consider this . And I'd like to highlight the fact I made in my earlier statement that onyewu HAS NOT PLAYED AT TOP LEVEL LATELY . I appreciate your views and comments .

I like the look of this guy, got a good feeling also.

Favourites as well as celtic to sign Danny Graham out of contract in the summer, can see it happening but don't know whether we'll end up doing it.

YungCammy

1.) 31 May 2016 22:16:20
Hope he goes to celtic.

2.) 31 May 2016 22:25:59
Don't want him. Greg Stewart would be a better option.

3.) 01 Jun 2016 06:47:38
Don't particularly want Danny Graham but to suggest Greg Stewart is a better option is just Ridiculous if he was that good he'd be playing in the premier league or championship too.

4.) 01 Jun 2016 09:08:33
If Graham comes to Scotland it will be Celtic given his links to Rogers but surely with our backroom staff we can find a much superior player for the striker role although I have a feeling that the Warburton plan will be to play with attacking midfield players that can score goals. Personally I would like us to sign a proven goalscorer that is recommended by McParland or by Laudrup, Mols or Amoruso.

5.) 01 Jun 2016 09:43:36
I think he will be Selik Bound. not sure he is the cental striker that we need.

See that Selik also favourits for Fletcher, they could well end up with Griff, Fletch and Graham next year, that is no a bad strike force, but Magic Hat will have better tricks up his sleeve am sure of it!

Fletcher definitely not going to Celtic. I heard from a family member of Fletcher he is either Bournemouth or West Brom bound.

8.) 01 Jun 2016 12:29:32
Celtic can have Graham and Fletcher in my opinion. Fletcher has an awful scoring record every where he's been since leaving hibs and Graham is getting on a bit and isn't a mobile striker that will work hard.

9.) 01 Jun 2016 16:53:03
Fletcher is as good as a fathers day card for an orphan, his goal ratio is absolutely dire, Grahams exactly the same albeit a better player who is good at holding up ball.
Grifiths is decent but Boyd managed similar goalscoring feat in SPFL that included Both old firm teams, Hibs and St Mirren so Griffiths has had 12 games against inferior sides and we all know what happened to Boyd.
Griffiths was focal point of a 1 man strike force and I guarantee he won't score more than 30 if even close next season.
I for 1 don't fear that 3 as a strike force.
Anyway Warbs has already assembled a great squad last season and the midfielders he has added so far to add to that are class. Once he completes defence, adds a winger and another Striker and possible GK we will have great chance to win title.
Leicester won league with no European football, Liverpool almost the same so I think it might be a blessing in disguise that we can fully concentrate on bringing our title back. 🔴⚪️🔵🏆.

Mark Warburton confirms Rangers are close to signing two new players - Can't remember what site I seen it on but it was part of an interview. Didn't release who it was. These aren't crooks/ windass. Possibly Barton and Krancjar?

YungCammy

1.) 19 May 2016 08:30:17
Well i'd hope it wasnt Crooks and Windass otherwise someones dropped the ball big time.

2.) 19 May 2016 09:48:44
Does Crooks exist?
He never seems to get a game when ASey are on TV.

{Ed001's Note - isn't he injured?}

3.) 19 May 2016 11:05:09
Crooks is injured.

4.) 19 May 2016 11:36:39
Yes been injured since March. Played pretty much every game for AS beforehand. Mostly centre mid.

5.) 19 May 2016 11:49:32
Deeb crooks just had surgery on his ankle and all went well but might not be ready for preseason.

Rarely fit (aka always injured)
Never scores, need a goalscorer not a decoy
Was decent back in the day but now he's gash.

Wouldn't take either 3.

Not sure about the guy that puts in the most tackles near enough every season and gives 100%? Nah I'm not sure either. He'd be a good signing for us.

Yeah he's out of contract. He wouldn't come up here and spend time if he wasn't the slightest interested, I think he's hoping that Rangers get Europa League and that'll fully attract him. Regardless I think he's making a fair choice. He's also taking a pay cut too.
