I am certainly not a fan of the current regime, nor the management abilities of The Artist Formerly known as SuperAlly. The result and performance against Raith were unacceptable. However, as there are cup semi tickets available I have just bought two and will be driving up from Surrey on Friday night / Saturday morning. Forgive me, I don'5am mean to sound sound high and mighty as this is only my second game of the season (I watch all the others on Sky /BT and RTV). However, with all our financial troubles and the awful football, I just feel the TEAM needs our support more than ever. Please, fellow Bears, let's pack out Ibrox and support the club we have all loved since we were small children. Who knows when we will next be in a cup semi? Maybe we need to re-set our expectations and accept the days of our divine right to success might be a while in coming back. I remember being at the 1983 SFA cup final against Aberdeen. I was 10 years old and was crying after we lost 1-0 AET. I remember after Aberdeen had lifted the trophy, Hampden was still full of Bears demanding that the team return to the pitch whilst belting out "we love you Rangers, we do". This was during JG's tenure as manager and these are the fans that I choose to believe in. We might get schooled by McNamara's kids on Saturday, but for me that is not really the point.

notahappybear

1.) The fans haven't been found wanting over the last 3 years - just the manager.
What a difference a day makes same venue utterly different game. Derek McInnes team showing great organisation, great movement, great link up play between two excellent strikers. One ahead they maybe and having hit the post twice but Hibs are still in the game.
Very decent football match- seems a lifetime away.

2.) 07 Apr 2014 21:32:54
I said before that Derek McInnes was ten times the manager Ally was.

I was wrong, he's at least 20 times better.

And I doubt he'd be on a karaoke machine belting out a song the same night if Dundee United or by some miracle Rangers beat his team in the Cup final.

3.) Op. and there lies the problem. as long as we blindly follow regardless of the dross served up then the 3 amigos and the half wits that run the club will do nothing. I had the same feeling last year. it was purely out of defiance I trudged along to ibrox to watch games knowing I wasn't going to enjoy it. yes we have enjoyed past glories but we are in a totally different place right now and maybe that's what the half wits need is an empty ibrox to get the message to get out and take ally and the other 2 with them. I have watched rangers for 38 years and I don't think I have seen a worse team and manager as this.

4.) N3 as well as agreement with you post ime I also wonder how ally can be so confident he doesn't fear for his job my own take on it is he knows if he was sacked he could tell us the full story about the missing millions thus causing megga revolt against the board and that's his reason for the confidence

5.) I am 65 have watched rangers scince I was ten never hhav I witnessed football being served up like this there has been times where it maybe was not the best but it was always exciting and full of passion and the players stuck rigidly to club rules no one would have dare asked for money o attend supporters functions or bet against the club there were no places in teams for the managers favourites the whole thing revolved around the club not the players inthose days it was all for one and one for all now starting wi macoist its acase of one for oneself or f ujack I am all right that is the fundemental that's wrong at ibrox now and unless we can get someone in as a manager who has some sort of standards it will just roll on wi ally cotinuing to say he is not in fear of his job

6.) The problem isn't only with the manager but also the standard of player that he ahs brought in. These guys have been relying on last minute goals, penalties to win ties in the 2nd division so it should be no surprise they ran out of ideas on Sunday. The problem is, Rovers are one of the poorest teams in that league and next season there will be Hearts and maybe HibsDundeeHamilton as well as a resurgent Falkirk side, QOS doing well and Livingston coming along nicely under John McGlynn. The players at Rangers just now will struggle against these teams, be under no illusion and this is further compounded by the fact the club is still losing £600k a month, that needs to be addressed before a single player is brought in. Forget all this DK nonsense, the existing people won't dilute their shareholding to let him in so it is the current board who will have to struggle through the mire to try and bring some semblance of a club out the other end. The pain is only going to get worse and I fully expect Rangers not to win or even be promoted next season.

I don't think that many of you on here will agree, but I thought last night's performance was much better than most of what I have witnessed this year. On far too many occasions, particularly at Ibrox, we have appeared to be really nervous when we have the ball. Against Rovers we kept the ball for long periods of time and did not look for the long ball up to Daly at every opportunity. I accept that we did not do that much with the ball and we are in desperate need of a creative figure in the middle of the park, but it was definitely a start. If we want to see a Rangers team play an attractive passing game, then they need to be comfortable on the ball and be able to retain possession for long periods of time. We also need width if we are to break down the teams who play with 11 men behind the ball and the quality of crossing was better last night. I know he is not a favourite on here, but Foster is a far better option than Faure at RB. My best case scenario is that McCoist is receiving a real education in the lower leagues ( a la Fergie at East Stirling), and that the squad will grow in confidence so that even if we can't compete with Celtic we can put out an attractive passing side that people will want to go and watch every week. I know there is a long, long way to go but despite what Walker, McCann or McNamara said, I enjoyed watching a Rangers team pass the ball to each other. It's not Barcelona or even Rangers under Advocaat, but does anyone remember how truly awful we were in the CL under Smith in the 90s (including 92/3)?

notahappybear

1.) Totally disagree, we passed the ball about with a terrible end product, 4 guys on here could pass the ball about like last nite, Albion rovers never pressed us all night, I found the whole game very boring, the referee could've blew for full time after 76 mins, nothing happened.

2.) Tell you what. go on YouTube and watch our champions league run in 92/93 and you will see what kind of team we were then. I think you might be surprised. but just in case you haven't a laptop I'll summarise for you. a team who could control the ball n one touch, a team who were all quick, well miby not Scott Nesbit, a team who were hard, a team who were powerfull, a team who swatted Leeds to one side, and a team who were cheated out of the cup final. wee rethink on your post I think!

3.) The great man in the sky could learn ally tactics every one nows to beat packed defences is down flanks or some one running at defences and drawing players to them and as for holding the ball last night no disrespect to rovers they had there shot at the title in the first game last night

4.) Sorry poster, we can all have opinions on how the team performs but it must be obvious that we don't perform as a unit. Not only that the standard of our play is poor.
We have some good players not being utilised correctly. We also have some potential in the younger players on the books that any decent manager/coach would have introduced before now.
Unfortunately, we are stuck with McCoist and unless we can sort out the playing system, the sale of season tickets will fall, not because of the board, but due to the standard of our play.
Over the years, when the team was playing poorly we did not go every week and chose our games to suit circumstances. McCoist has been very fortunate that we Rangers fans have shown such loyalty but unless he extracts the digit, season ticket sales will fall no matter what happens off the field.

5.) I have been saying that for a while macoist is a bigger threat to rangers than the board at the present time because every game is the same mince mince and more mince and every one I know are not thinking of the planned boycott plain and simple they are not going to renew ther tickets and if we get humped in cup it will be ten times worse

6.) Would be every surprised if season ticket sales for next season are lower than this season.

7.) Why's that johncass, season tickets are expected to raise, if ally is still manager season tickets will be down, football is an entertainment and we ain't getting value for money.

8.) And so the price should rise, as we know the championship, will be harder, with better teams than we have played in league 1&2. If someone is willing to pay for a season ticket for league 1&2, then I think they will continue that in the championship. We will soon see

I have been an Ally apologist for some time. I truly believed that the way we were playing was the quality of opposition, the way these part-time teams raise their game, the pitches, the weather and the permanent state of flux in our boardroom. However, I have watched all our games since Forfar at Ibrox on RTV and was up for the Dunfermline cup game in Feb, and this is just heartbreaking. I was wondering if the Union Bears play requests. I would pay handsomely for a reprisal of an old eighties classic. it goes. Ally get tae F£@, Ally, Ally, get tae f£?@.

notahappybear

1.) Rank rotten

2.) I was actually hoping we would get beat in the end as it might have been the final nail in Ally's coffin, John Greig got the bullet for less. He should go before he leaves a stain on our memories of him

3.) Wishing your own team would be beat shame on you!. No Rangers fans should ever utter the nonsense you just came out with. Disgusting comment.

4.) @2 I am not an Ally fan and want him out however I could never wish a defeat even if it got rid of him. Hate it when we lose no matter who beats us.

5.) 11 Mar 2014 22:30:12
Makes u wonder if those words were said for his own agenda? i'm shocked jig hasn't said sumthing by now. And as for walter basically handing him the job. Did he never notice the guy hasn't a clue?

Perhaps for some light relief, fellow Bears could share their worst result/ performance that they remember. I know we have a lot more serious things to debate but the current situation is just about too much to bear. I was not born until 73 so I don't remember the infamous Jock Wallace / Berwick Rangers cup game. The two that stick in my mind are losing 3-0 away to Chesterfield in the Anglo-Scots cup in 81 and also getting beat 2-1 by Clydebank the week after Souness had been announced as player/manager. I have not checked any stats, these are from memory so apologies if the mind is playing tricks.

notahappybear

{Ed039's Note - Moravciks old firm debut, the game was a beam back at Ibrox, we were torn apart)

1.) I'm only 22 & I have been at Ibrox for a few bad defeats especially In the cups last season & Malmo & the Maribor draw the year before was bad. Also the day Samaras scored a double in the 2nd half was my 1st old firm In 2011 that hurt but the worst was when I had my 1st season ticket & Ivan Sproule scored 3 goals in 27minutes right infront of my eyes in the broomloan end that was like 3 swift kicks too the nuts and a punch in the belly for good measure!

2.) Losing to Stirling Albion when they were bottom of the 3rd division last year was terrible but I honestly believe today was the worst I've ever felt watching rangers, ally should be handing his notice in, dean shiels should give his wage packet away to charity he was embarrassing today.

3.) Rangers 0 - Hamilton accies 1 Scottish cup 3rd round 1987 or there abouts

Wallace and Nash are directors of GARRION securities. It is one of about half a dozen companies who have a registered office at Ibrox. Wallace replaced Green last May and Nash has just replaced Stockbridge. I searched company heck. co. uk to source this info. They are all covering there tracks pretty carefully. There are no new or unknown links between Wallace and Green or Green and Whyte.

notahappybear

1.) Wtf do the so called journalist in Scotland actaully do? Copy and pate spoon fed propaganda?

2.) We will probably never mind out who is involved with who but we must give wallace and nash the help they need if and only if they turn out to be duds then they would be due any comments about there ability the bit I don't understand is who is making the appointments because crichton and summers appear to be there just to make up the numbers and are not football people and appear dis functionable and everything appears to be left to run things hiself

3.) Op think you better look again

05/03/2014 New Board Member Mr P. T. Nash appointed
18/02/2014 New Board Member Mr I. G. Wallace appointed
18/02/2014 Mr B. Stockbridge has left the board
26/10/2013 Annual Returns
04/10/2013 Mr C. A. Green has left the board

as above Wallace was appointed this year after stockbridge was removed and nash has just been appointed

I don't get it anymore, we wanted rid of green, he was removed from the board of RIFC and subsequently all subsidiary companies

we wanted rid of stockbridge, he was removed from the board of RIFC and subsequently all subsidiary companies including TRFC

If Wallace is our CEO, why should he not be appointed to our subsidiary companies as well?

This must be some conspiracy that is going on as it appears every businessman in the UK is involved in it

JG

4.) JG You are correct sir, my apologies. The fact remains that there is no new story or revelations here. Straightforward, standard business practice.

5.) @ op, was that info on an official site? wallace was only appointed in october, if memory serves me correctly.

6.) Jg, why do we need these subsiduary companies?

can they not be brought under the rangers umbrella, so that any profits will go to rangers?

will the directors be drawing a salary, bonuses, and share of the profits from the subsiduaries?

7.) Subsiduaries allows someone to hide payments into these subs, as they will generally not provide thier own accounts.

So RIFC pays them x and that's all we know. Its a way of hiding money transfers etc etc

As ever JG reading the latest PR statement, and seeking to suggest all fine.

But we seeing a well worked plan to take money from dodgy sources ( cash into imrans mums bank account when the sender is unknown! ), spin up lots of subsiduaries, fall behind in accounts delivery, remove all board members - so none of original left. meaning hard to apportion blame.

Contrast this with McCann - where all debts paid money invested, and 5 years later leaves with £30m (3x investment) and company left in solid state.

JG tries to suggest we are not as stable and secure as they were 20 years ago. but it just does not add up.

SPIN is to hide facts.

Is Wallace in control - or a puppet?

Is there any costs savings we fans can see. nope. why not, if no chance of other admin then there must be significant cost savings and new income arriving. does not look like it when emergency loans required as 30% APR.

8.) Hughphl - good question

I think it is tax related but don't quote me

I would need to defer to our city of London posters on that

regarding trading profits, or losses, I took it from the year end accounts that it included income and expenditure from those subsidiaries

JG

9.) All the money from the IPO is 'lent' to TRFC Ltd. They then have to pay Garrion and other subsidiaries for services so the money makes its way up the structure and back into RIFC accounts. It is then lent back to TRFC and the total debt increases even though the same money has been lent on more than one occassion.

{Ed039's Note - If it was dirty money that would be a way to launder money)

10.) We must get these shrewed asset stripping con men out of our club

11.) N2 charles green is making the apointments imo and if mr wallace and his new sidekick make an ass of things it could maybe be the end of rangers fc end off

"Wee Barry" a legend?. GTF. I seem to remember Walter Smith showing him the exit door after he embarrassed and let down our once proud institution. Oh and I don't remember him rushing to pay back the £1m EBT. but perhaps I am missing something. Always seemed to me like a player who thought he was better than he actually was. In the late 1990s both Steven Gerrard and BF looked like they had promising careers ahead. Only one of them ever fulfilled their dreaded "potential".

Extra time and penalties methinks! Total rubbish from both teams. Lots of niggles, too many free kicks and absolutely no football. A dreadful advert for RFC and scottish football as a whole.

I am not even sure we will beat Raith Rovers on BBC Sheep tomorrow afternoon. I notice we only sold 20,000 semi final tickets yesterday. I wonder if that's an indication of how many season tickets that we will sell for the championship next year?

I agree that the football is dire. I find myself hoping that we are just getting dragged down to the level of the other teams in this division and that this "safety first" percentage football will be magically transformed into slick one touch passing football when we play on "proper" pitches. However, the displays at Ibrox would contradict this. At home, on many occasions we have seemed even more timid, nervous and
sometimes downright clueless. I have no idea why Dundee Utd are making such a fuss about coming to Ibrox, as I fear a real hammering. None of the youth or the fringe players look any more talented or hungry than the usual suspects. Like so many Bears, I would dearly love to see a young, homegrown Rangers team, successfully playing attractive, possession football. I had hoped that was going to be the ethos of "the journey". All I can say is that I do think McCoist was a unifying figure from Feb 2012 and I am grateful. It would appear that we are stuck with him and his back room staff, but at least we still have a football club. The current squad should be more than capable of winning the Championship and we are back at the top table after only three seasons. Imagine, if you were a Leeds, Pompey or Luton fan, this would be some kind of nirvana. I am glad that this forum exists. It allows us to share, ideas, opinions and information and allows us Bears to let off steam, be critical of the Board, the Team and the tactics (or lack of). However, we as a club were guilty of massive arrogance in the not too distant past, if we can learn anything, then please let it be humility. I don't care whether you agree with DK or SOS or the current board, or that would rather see McInnes or Davies in charge. I just hope we, collectively are truly worth the epithet of "greatest supporters in the world" and continue to support The Famous Glasgow Rangers.

Rovers fielded a virtual reserve side which included two trialists. I am not offering excuses it's just a fact.
