Figures close to the takeover parties were at the game last night. And what an incredible eventual outcome!

Talk is that there's reasonably advanced diligence being done on increasing capacity by 10k or so without the need to close the stadium. Would impact the Broomloan and Copland stands and potentially the corners. From a source involved in the discussions.

May or may not come to pass but the work is being actively investigated.

Ibrox, good post. The takeover can't happen soon enough.

I would expect without doubt, increasing capacity will be entertained. The club have costed various options which will have been one of the appeals to the takeover.

In fairness the board have set the club up well for this takeover, putting aside the terrible mistakes with the team / player purchase and poor management of managers.

They have frustrated out of me, but will be lauded when this goes through. Let's face facts we would be extinct otherwise.

Great to see. Just need to keep momentum going through this period of diligence. Cavanagh is a heavy hitter by all accounts. Seeing this deal done would be a once in an era opportunity given some of the charlatans we've had to encounter.

Ibrox, totally agree. All so far looks really promising. I was reading something on the BBC (which are never wrong?) the deal should be completed in may.
John, what's your thoughts on this takeover and the people involved?

Call is the Ibrox Pepsi Stadium for 10 years and make it 80,000.

Removing the screen and filling in the corners would be the best option to start with IMO…. Do one each summer from the end of next season to keep the disruption down….

Great post Ibrox4me, new ownership group hopeful that capacity can be increased to 65,000 most likely reduced to 63,000 on derby and European games.

I love it if true they are looking at stafium options but if we are truly thinking long term i'd suggest we have to go bigger than another 10k especially of waiting list is 15k there are many many more people who are no longer on the waiting list that gave up hope of a season ticket also with europe format now appearing to mean a certain amount of games every year we should be looking bigger

Europe cletic aberdeen gamea can certainly draw a bigger crowd than 65k

Nobody should struggle to buy a season ticket if you want one you should be able to buy and people are more likely to keep ticket once they've got it i feel clubs lack of seats and waiting list is puting people off.

We need atmosphere back at ibrox was pretty poor last night up until the penalties.

Forever rangers. You're points are fair and correct,
The building of the extra seats must also be with the output financially to the club.
There is also limitations to what we can add and where. We can't go any lower than we are with the pitch, so we have 2 corners, we'd still need to leave space for emergency services I believe? Soo ok that limits corners, the staircases are also a problem. There is potential for extra tier on the go van stand I believe but overall there is only so much we can do to the existing stadium. Otherwise we'd have to build a new stadium and develop ibrox into housing in similar way to what Arsenal done, so
Etching I wouldn't be against. Although I expect most would be and I also see those points.

21.) 14 Mar 2025
14 Mar 2025 22:21:45
Hope capacity can be increased, would also like to see a bit of improvement outside the stadium as well, when you see what Man Utd proposing outside stadium, although in a different League we need to be pushing kind of same ideas for fan engagement and increased revenue streams.

22.) 15 Mar 2025
15 Mar 2025 06:48:54
So the money to improve the stadium comes from where? Do the profits from more seats go into the squad or into investors hands? To me I don't see what this can bring but debt.

15 Mar 2025 07:28:30
Stevie g i totally understand all that but i do think we have a responsibility to future fans as well if we waste money for these upgrades for short term instead of saving to rebuild stadium long term.
I love going to ibrox but my view is it will have to come down and be rebuilt at some point people are too precious about stadium being left as is but to them i'd say stadium we hace now is not same one our grandfathers had it changed so why can't it change again.

We keep hearing this long term vision long term planning nonsense from club then we go do same stupid stuff over and over

Cerny contract just like sima and tilman

Letting cnatwell go for 500k when we paid 1.5 or so paying fees instead of waiting

Letting players run down deals

Poor planning of stadium upgrades

Ferguson in to test the integrity of squad really! So a temp 3month manager making decisions for the longer term future of players that spunds smart not!

I just think we owe it to a lot of the younger fans to build the future Rangers and not keep looking to the past if we increase 10k we just pass Celtic but then they have plans to go to 80k or 110k which again leaves us behind in revenue and nothing changes.

We as fans might be better taking the hit so future fans get a strong Rangers and a future proof new build ibrox.

Ferguson mccannlooked to future took a lot of stick from us and his own fans but he was ultimately the reason they are where they are now.

We need someone of the same single minded nature.

Forever, no club can stop players running down their contracts.

25.) 15 Mar 2025
15 Mar 2025 08:57:05
Increasing attendance to around 60,000 and renaming right will bring in a very good revenue stream. Agree that board have set us to be in good place for take over but agree with Forever, we need to change tact regarding selling players. If a player has a good season, we increase their contract and wait for the next season to sell, then we supposedly over inflate selling price. It happens on here all the time. I get individuals thinking but if you can get double or treble on an investment after one year I sell.

Take Igamane. If someone offers 7 million that's 4 fold on what we paid. With add ons and percentages of sales it may end up a tidy sum. Let them take the risk for his next stage of development. For a winning team every player can't be developmental.

26.) 15 Mar 2025
15 Mar 2025 09:21:08
Because we signed Igamane for 1.7m we'll sell for 7m, not really interested in much he cost us, that would be nothing short of madness selling him for that fee, but it won't happen anyway.

27.) 15 Mar 2025
15 Mar 2025 09:37:51
Forever, I can't argue with any of what u have said mate. Good poster ??.

Iganame currently not showing he's worth more than 7m my star.

29.) 15 Mar 2025

Should consider reducing the seating in the main stand. Seat are packed against the row in front tighter than Ryanair.

30.) 15 Mar 2025
15 Mar 2025 10:34:58
Colonel you can see many qualities he has right now mate, lads on started playing professional football, selling him for 7m is madness, maybe been off it lately but he's a player.
