Does anyone have any concerns about the style of football we play under MB.

Not sure I see a dramatic change from GVB
Maybe once he has a full pre season with the new squad we will see a significant change.

We still seemed to do things very slowly, our reactions to danger developing was also a concern.

Big few months for Michael, player recruitment and style of play must be significantly better than the last 6 months or else the vultures will start circling.

The changes for me are blatant. However he's stated many times he's not going to be able to implement his preferred style of play until he gets to the summer.

It’s hard to change tactics when the personnel remains the same. I think Beale has been forced to make tactics to fit the players rather than get players to fit his tactics. I wish we played with more width and had wingers who actually want to go and beat a man. We’re so indirect it’s unbelievable and when the whole front 3 are playing narrow and with another 3 midfielders behind them it just sucks up all the space and makes it easy to play against.

I don’t have concerns about Beales style of play, I have concerns about the players. Need better quality and motivated players and the style will be better as a result.

The football is really bad and has been for while now do I expect this to change after summer no will be surprised if it does.
We are going go with same defence next season so will be same old mistakes defence needs ripped up and changed completely.

Yes there hasn’t been any change from the majority of games we have played apart from hearts and Hibs away it’s been slow ponderous and boring.

KSB, the football has been terrible for 3 years? During which time we won a league, had brilliant results in Europe culminating in a European final just under a year ago and won a Scottish cup. Ok so we all know this season has been a car crash bit but much just saying it’s been terrible for 3 years. It also has to be considered that sometimes watching our games in the spfl is dull / boring due to 10 of the other 11 opponents sitting with 11 men in their own box not wanting to play football. No real coincidence that some of our best performances this year (away to hearts and Hibs spring to mind) occurred when the opposition actually tried to come out and play against us. Sometimes our build up looks slow because the opposition don’t even engage until we are 10 yards away from their box, so we end up moving the ball around the other (empty) 70% of the pitch trying to move their defence and looking for an opportunity to create space.

Gonna be hard to judge until has own team but if the reaction to the thousand pass goal the other week is anything to go by its going to be same slow pass backwards football.

I thought Saturdays game took boredom to a new level it’s a slow build up pass pass pass with nothing to show for it, the he skates Morelos I agree he’s been poor all season but there is a few in that team need to look in the mirror, I hope he gets the backing for this transfer window because he is going to need it.

Our play is ponderous but I hope the changes he makes will show big improvements because imo zMB has to be within 3 points of celtic by Jan 24 or will be out of a job.

Absolutely.

We seen an uplift in the general morale/ attitude of the team when he arrived - however we seem to be completely flat again.

In terms of style of play, I'm not a fan of our new system.

Additionally, I've been concerned that we've not seen any real improvement in players 'individually', concerned by his substitutions and concerned by his interviews.

Lol, other than that it's all rosey.

Our biggest issue for some time is we have too many players in forward areas that are happy to just stand still. I understand we have low block against us but tbh we just look very lazy and that could stem back to pre season which most know was poor!

I for one will let MB get his team and pre season before making any judgements.

Doesn't take a genius to work out most of our defenders will still be there next year so same players will make mistakes and keep costing us games plain and simple.
A guess we will find out soon enough what happens when season kicks off again.

Dreadful to so slow and boring. can't blame other teams sitting in, it up to MB to come up with tactics to over come this but I doubt he has this ability, if we are to delieve he was brains behind SG things are not going to change anytime soon.

Not sure it’s the overall style of play that’s the issue. There was a stat mentioned in the commentary during the cup semi final that was very enlightening. Since Ange has come in at Celtic, overall between the two teams Rangers have had more shots, more crosses into the box and more touches in the oppositions boxes than Celtic have, yet they have outscored us by far.

It’s the clinical nature of their front 3 in particular that’s the big difference, and the non clinical nature of ours, hence why Beale probably stated he’d never known a team to be as wasteful in front of goals as us at the weekend. We create chances, just don’t take them.

When you look at the stats of our forwards, it’s not great reading. Top goal scorer in fact is Tav, however of our forwards it’s - Colak 13, Morelos 12, Tillman 10, Sakala 8. (Kent by the way is 3, with an overall conversation rate of 6%! Which is just embarrassing). Hopefully next season, with what is likely to be a completely new front 3 in most games, that will improve. Time will tell.
