Yet again we have a manager that is unwilling to change the game before it's too late. Rather than changing it to try and win the game we are waiting on other teams. He is being reactive rather than proactive.

I know Steven Davis keeps being mentioned some fans all for it and some not so much. But I think more importantly it's that type of player the fans are crying out for and not specifically Davis.

what I've been saying for ages . and branded a celtic supporter for it. warburton and gerrard are the same.

2.) 29 Oct 2018 14:23:52
Warburton and Gerrard are the same? Have a word with yourself mate! I agree he should’ve made a change on 60/ 65 mins when they started seeing more of the ball but to compare him with the Warburton is laughable!

3.) 29 Oct 2018 17:38:00
Gerrard and Warburton are night and day from each other in stature and the direction the team is heading in.

4.) 29 Oct 2018 19:44:58
Makes you despair sometimes eh? Comparing Warburton to Gerrard! Fair enough, I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

5.) 29 Oct 2018 20:01:58
ffs we are top of europa league and 2 points behind the puddle drinkers in the spl got to give the guy time remember we had both our strikers out yesterday.

6.) 30 Oct 2018 14:54:36
Lol amazing lose to sheep an all the gerrard head hunters come out to play get a grip pedro etc was still there we would be bottom 2 just now

running scared of gerrard
Oh ye your runnung scared of gerrard
Running scared of gerrard
Oh ye your running scared of gerrard.

7.) 31 Oct 2018 12:11:51
Peri has a better away record than SG in the league so did murty.

I ain’t saying get rid but people aren’t allowed to criticise SG because he was a great footballer.

Hate to say it think the managers time is up lol. Why oh why are we selling/ loaning good players. We have learned nothing from the last season we need to play 4-4-2 against teams who sit really deep with 11 men behind the ball especially when they have no pace to counter attack against us. He had £8 million worth of strikers on the bench. Helander is just too slow and will struggle at times even though he is a good reader of the game. And playing 2 holding midfielders in Jack and kamara is not necessary when they play so negative. I would have Greg docherty in front of kamara all day long.

1.) 18 Aug 2020 01:25:28
He will see the season out, can't see him being removed. Just got to hope he switches up tactics and players.

2.) 18 Aug 2020 01:51:24
Don't think 442 is the fix.

3.) 18 Aug 2020 06:56:20
I would go 352 instead of 442 as a 442 would maybe stifle barasic and (Tav) getting forward as much as they do.

4.) 18 Aug 2020 07:41:17
I’d go 352 also Good all round formation

High defence line - pressing opposition and wingbacks support the attack

And the benefit of having two up top instead of 1 or And possibly having the attacking midfielder in the middle could push up to give the 3 up front

The formation allows to press the opposition that we usually do anyway but right now Morelos up too on his own and comes back to midfield to pick the ball up which is hopeless as wee seen on Sunday

Maybe I’m talking rubbish and I should stick to playing fifa 😂😂😂🤣.

5.) 18 Aug 2020 07:51:43
Who are we selling/ loaning? that's going to improve 1st 11?

6.) 18 Aug 2020 08:04:31
Creative midfielder who can split a defence open one way or another

God knows who though

Will wait and see who we manage to get in.

7.) 18 Aug 2020 08:39:16
I blame this Football Manager game. Everybody seems to be an expert on tactics now. If SG chucks it we will be in good hands with all the experts on here.

8.) 18 Aug 2020 09:31:01
Totally agree Jaws, I can't believe the reaction on here since Sunday, thank God we're not Barcelona.

9.) 18 Aug 2020 10:03:45
Jaws couldn't agree more. 1 Draw at a notoriously hard away fixture and people want the manager gone haha. Laughable 'support'. I was as disappointed on sunday as anyone but surely when you take a step back you move on and look to the next game. New signings need to bed in, however i do agree we can't be giving them 20 mins here and there and expecting them to change our fortunes.

10.) 18 Aug 2020 10:21:52
Don’t need to play footballs manager to know that 4 3 3 is not working same tactics every game and same tactics that has not won us any trophies when are we going to learn it needs to change.

11.) 18 Aug 2020 11:11:34
I said two year ago that 433 is not working and that we should be playing two up top. 👍.

12.) 18 Aug 2020 11:33:49
Coldo, you still need to get the ball to your 2 up top. are you really saying start playing the long ball over the top?

13.) 18 Aug 2020 11:45:18
we pass to them to hold it up, we cross it in to them or we go long to them in behind. Geesa don't you know how to play football? Trying to play it through a back 10 to one ST hasn't been working for a few year now🙈👍.

14.) 18 Aug 2020 12:15:23
Exactly Coldo. It doesn't need to be pretty, just effective.
Against Livi before Itten came on we put a few decent crosses in but the 2 Livi CDs were all over it. Tav put a good cross into the box into an area where a second striker should have been either waiting or running into.
As it is we are not getting the ball into dangerous enough areas when teams play the low blow because we are too slow and our pass and movement in the Livi game was awful.
Best way to get the ball into the danger area is either long ball or in from the wings and then if need be be first to the second ball.

15.) 18 Aug 2020 13:03:00
Spot on JC, its not rocket science. 👍.

16.) 18 Aug 2020 13:06:42
Surely the way to get through a back 10 would be to play through it? 🤔
Is 2 strikers better than 3 forwards? 🤔
Morelos holds the ball up and harasses CB as good as anyone
We didn't play well enough against livi, it wasn't because we were playing 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, or even your answer to everything 4-4-2 coldo! 😉.

17.) 18 Aug 2020 13:47:12
we played over 20 minutes against livi with a 442 and played worse in my eyes.

18.) 18 Aug 2020 17:21:38
But we couldn't play through them on Sunday mrgrumpy so surely we should have went over them or at least set up and tried to. No point continuing to do something that isn't working as I think we can all agree we could see after 20 mins what was happening.

19.) 18 Aug 2020 18:08:56
Kent, Morelos, hagi didn't turn up.
I think it was more poor individual performances that was to blame.

20.) 18 Aug 2020 19:56:30
I agree re poor individual performance I’d also add arfield kamara jack to your three.

02 Apr 2020 19:48:22
I know this is the worst of times but firstly I can't believe how selfish some of these football players have been still accepting a full wage. I include all clubs in this
Secondly I hope the backroom staff at ibrox are still working behind the scenes working out who stays and who goes. And are working on potential transfers and scouting talent. Something we have struggled with badly. I hope guys like docherty and both mccrories come back.

CambuslangGer

1.) 03 Apr 2020 16:20:51
I understand where your coming from cambusger but I'm not so sure they are being selfish.
They are just getting paid what their contract states their weekly pay packet is.
It's the same for me to be honest with my job at the moment.
And I wouldn't look at myself as being selfish.
Then again, my pay packet is nowhere near what theirs is right enough. 🔴⚪🔵.

2.) 03 Apr 2020 19:10:32
Not the players fault. What about the billionaire owners putting there hand in there pockets? Like mike ashley?

3.) 03 Apr 2020 21:56:52
If you know nothing about what they earn, what they’re doing to help and if they have been asked to do something, then you have no right to say how selfish they have been, none at all, what have you been giving, and how do you know they haven’t?

06 Mar 2020 21:07:21
We missed our chance to start again when we crumbled to build a sustainable team of young hungry players by the time we got to the spl.
Instead we are spending out with our means instead of moulding and helping good young players I. e mccrorie. Docherty mebude. Gilmour. Instead of farming them out on loan or losing them completely. Gerrard should have been able to develop and mould docherty and McCrorie into fine midfielders. What player have we actually bought and then sold for any decent profit in the last 5 to 10 yes.

CambuslangGer

1.) 06 Mar 2020 21:28:13
Agree'd Cambuslang .

Only thing is Stevie is an experiment that is failing time and time again .

I now personally don't believe he will ever learn and become a professional manager.

He can kiss goodbye to his dream of being the Liverpool manager any time soon.

2.) 06 Mar 2020 22:13:37
Utter nonsense. If that was the case the lower teams who rely on younger players coming through and the cast offs from the top teams would be successful. Its just not he case. Man utd were the only example in the last 3 decades that this could be possible. The youngsters are just not good enough. Both had plenty of chances let's just accept they are not good enough. I will admit we need some player in and the best we can afford - big, technical, hard hitting winners. let's give up this fine margin football and just smash teams with shear strength and power.

3.) 06 Mar 2020 22:38:43
CambuslangGer - wise and honest words my friend.

4.) 07 Mar 2020 00:39:07
Blue Billy nobody is saying play a full team of kids. How can these youngsters ever get better if they aren't allowed to play and grow. That's why the national team and the whole of Scottish football is in this mess. Prime example john fleck the next Wayne Rooney 10 years ago let go by rangers with no first team opportunities and now look Sheffield United player of the year in the epl. Lewis Ferguson let go because he's too 'small'. We don't give lads a chance that's why they are scared to even go and beat a man. lack confidence. I would love nothing more than to go and knockout Leverkusen or at the very least give it a good bloody go.

5.) 07 Mar 2020 01:14:50
Tjbb, it never done us any harm before 2012 mate, why not.

6.) 07 Mar 2020 01:30:16
Actually reflecting on what you say I agree with your 2nd post in particular. Young players need key development in senior football from the age of 15/ 16 if they don't get it then that stalls their development and they don't make it to full pro. Unfortunately the Scottish leagues are not the best environment for some youngsters to develop because of the physicality as you say because of size. don't mind who plays for Rangers as long as we are winning would love Haliday to be a Laudrup but we can't have it all.

7.) 07 Mar 2020 08:30:20
I think you have to look at how long it's took Fleck to get to the EPL before using him as an example and the club's he played for. 👍.

06 Mar 2020 19:03:36
Just seen gerrards press conference. Sometimes players need 'protection' no they need a reality check. They are living every rangers fan dream and getting paid handsomely for it. Always players need this players need that. No they need to get it out there and show a bit of passion. Ojo send him back just now he is taking up young persons spot on the bench.
Morelos sit on the bench until you grow up. Tavernier do the first decent thing you have done as captain and hand it over to someone who deserves it. Or better still Gerrard grow a set and take it off him. If tavernier is captain next year if think we just might need to do walking away.

CambuslangGer

1.) 06 Mar 2020 20:11:58
Perfect entitled to your opinion CambuslangGer, but where i personally disagree with you wholeheartedly pal is when you say we might just need to do walking away, no chance pal because i most certainly WON'T be walking away! I support my club through thick and thin, simple as that, but everyone is different on their views on rangers. Boy and man i go everywhere supporting the club i adore, for 40 odd years now, just following on from my late dad, god rest his soul and both my late grandfather's god bless them! I was born to follow my club and until my last breath, i'll continue following the glasgow rangers, simple as that!

2.) 06 Mar 2020 20:18:29
Who deserves to be captain then?
Because not one player who has played post Dubai has stepped up at any time during this period of underperformance and dragged the team out of the mire.
They've all been as bad as each other. 👍.

3.) 06 Mar 2020 20:51:03
Steven Gerrard Loyal

We know you love the club and as far as I can tell you support the manager no matter what, fair play

But can I ask where do we go from her pal?

We can support the team all day long, But tell me this if the players don’t support the club, what are the fans supposed to do keep paying hard earned money to watch players not play to there highest standard for the club?

Now from what I see you keep coming on and having a go on folk who don’t want maybe the manger to stay or players to keep there spots
And call them out for not being the true blue nose that you think everyone should be and following in your footsteps
Again fair play that’s your opinion

But as a loyal Rangers fan, you obviously want success like the rest of us, so tell me when will it be time to change?

If the manager can’t get players playing, what’s the usual outcome, correct me if I’m wrong but usually it’s the manger that goes first is it not especially when it’s a collective problem it’s not just one player it’s the lot of them every game in the domestic league there dropping there form

Surely if manager can’t fix that he would have to go would he not?

And can you also answer, if he stays how do you think he will be able to change our fortunes in finally winning some silverware?

And thirdly at what cost to the club do we keep funding him to try get it right, I don’t even know if the club can actually afford to find him anything come the summer, do you know different?

When players down tools and have a mindset that any pressure on them they can’t handle
For a fan you say for as long as yourself and I’m up there on the 40 years btw
Have you ever heard a Rangers captain come out with those comments before, I haven’t?
Ryan Kent on his comments also

I appreciate your support for the club, but I also appreciate everyone else’s opinions on reasons above Incl tactics etc

Right now something is wrong and I’m actually really worried where the club is going and what financial stability we’re going to have going forward
He’s spent a lot and brought in 30 odd players and so far we have nothing to show for it
And right now it’s looking more likely a lot of players could end up leaving for buttons again
We need to be making profit Europe money included going forward with Dave king stepping aside

Where is our club going?

Listen we’re all fans with opinions
One opinion doesn’t out way another

Everyone of us wants success it doesn’t happen overnight granted but spending lots of money being so far behind in league and getting beat from the clubs foot of the table doesn’t bode well.

4.) 06 Mar 2020 21:00:55
Stig have you no run out of ink yet? 🤣😂.

5.) 06 Mar 2020 21:12:11
@Kazmania82

Had to refill tonight mate 😂😂

Listen I’m not having a go at anybody
I wish we had more transparency with finances, Dave king situation etc etc
Maybe it will all come clearer come summer
Nobody even knows if gerrard will still be here to be honest
He might be told the club can’t afford another big kitty and he might think to himself well in that case I’m off

Really can’t see many clubs spending big bucks on any of them right now which is a disgrace on our players part for dropping there performances so low clubs might think twice 🙄.

6.) 06 Mar 2020 21:26:53
Thestigno1.Its every bear out there's decision, to do as they feel is correct for them, in the way they support rangers pal. You're correct everyone is different and entitled to do as they wish. All i'm stating is walking away ain't for me and never will be. I'll continue supporting my club because it will turn believe me, as that's what happens, ie. cycles etc. I always stated mate, that i'd give steven gerrard at least 3 years at this and that's what i'll do. I still think gerrard will get us where we'd all like rangers to be!

7.) 06 Mar 2020 21:42:02
SGL Well said sir.

8.) 07 Mar 2020 01:29:08
S. g l. i'm still for gerrard staying with us .

9.) 07 Mar 2020 02:37:39
It the question is how is he going to do that
With this bunch of players?

Or is it with a new set of players, how much money you think he needs to get it right on his 3rd season
How many players would you keep from current batch. And how many you think he needs to bring in

Right now for me it’s looking like he needs a good deal of money and atleast half a dozen signings and then needs to get them playing together

Tav
Helander
Goldson
Kamberi - he might be sent back to hibs
Kamarra
Defoe - probably will be here but I’d rather he wasn’t to old now in my opinion
Davis - again not got time on his side I’d prefer he went
Katic
JJ - will probably be away but never really got his chance
Andy Halliday
Flanagan
Morelos

I believe most of them will be away or most of them should be away

But who we going to get in - he’s brought in 30 players and pretty much majority haven’t been able to handle the pressure playing g for our club

How does he sort out his recruitment and get players in wee need and then get them to win a league or cup in his 3rd season.

27 Jan 2020 21:34:51
Potential curve ball here.
What about Jason Cummings
Dont think he ever got a fair crack at Ibrox. Not quite the physicality of morelos but a wee pest nonetheless could even play out wide as well.

CambuslangGer

1.) 27 Jan 2020 22:10:53
Nope 100% not good enough. Already failed at peterborough forest luton. Scored goals for hibs in championship. And was poor at us.

2.) 27 Jan 2020 22:20:44
Cambuslang - I posted with the same suggestion the other day and was shot down. My thinking is he'd be a good back-up.

3.) 27 Jan 2020 22:32:01
Not a chance ever .

Jyf well considering just 1 of these players earn more than a few of our wages put together. They could easily forfeit there wages for a couple of weeks 1 they could possibly help the club or donate it to charity.
And for what am I trying to do I am wondering how am gona pay my mortgage. 👍.

Maybe the players can forfeit their wages for a few weeks to cover the cost of the season tickets then since they seem to be doing nothing else.
