Not a chance it’ll be £7m, that’s just nonsense paper talk and has changed from even yesterday when one report said that Cremonese would be ‘looking to recoup as much of the £6m figure that they paid for him as they can’. But as has been pointed out, he’s a year older and the club has just been relegated so are no longer a ‘Serria A’ club. I’d reckon if we are actually in for him that we won’t be offering more than £4m tops and that would probably be enough to get him.

How does this make sense in terms of our player trading model? Weaker going to spend £7m on a 28 year and never get that money back. Even if he has a good season with us he’ll be 29 next summer, having already been to Holland and Italy. If a big money move was going to happen for him it would’ve occurred earlier in his career.
He’s a good player but £7m is hard to justify. Rangers should be buying young talent with a view to developing these players and selling them on at a profit. The only way teams like Rangers and Celtic can sustain in small leagues is regular European football and having a successful player trading model. Spending big money on this guy doesn’t make sense from a business perspective. Held need to give us a sensational 4 years to justify that money.
I can’t help but feel Rangers would be better buying potential. The 20 year old striker from Croatia we were linked with, and/ or Luis Palma, seem much better suited for a big money buy.

I do agree with Verdant but it's worth considering that we could potentially sign 3 strikers in this window if Colak leaves. If Beale goes out and signs 3 young strikers and they fail to hit the ground running he comes under fire for not signing 1st team ready players. As I've said before though if we can get Dessers for around the 3 million mark and then sign a few younger strikers it buys them time to gain experience as Dessers takes on the main role.

On olunga his numbers good last couple years but wonder if he's someone chasing the money seems to bounce about Asian and African countries after small stints in Europe seems a bit aimless career wise.

In order for a player trading model to work Rangers need to be earning money from the buying and selling of player. Losing Morelos and Kent for free, and spending £7m for a 28 year old striker, isn’t the way. We’ll end up spending more money than we earn this summer.
As I said before, if we spend that amount of money on a 28 year old he MUST give us 4 quality years in order to justify that spend as we won’t make money on him. Spending that type of money should only happen if a player has sell on potential, or is of a quality we cannot normally obtain.

Beale, he may score more than Raskin but only has 13 goals in 93 games for LA, and his scoring attempts on target compared to shots off target is pretty bad, with 51 out of 169 on target. If we are signing this boy its not for his goal contribution, so hopefully we will be looking at more players for up front.

It looks like we are getting a player that is really starting to show potential and could become a huge asset for us.

Still Blue, He didn't convert 50 odd. He got 51 out of 169 on target, so that's over 100 that were off target. He converted 13 out of 51 into goals, which is a decent stat, but that's a lot of misses.
As I said, I'm not suggesting he's a bad player, but he doesn't look like the ruthless goal scorer who is going to change our shots compared to goals issue that we had all season.

Cifuentes is not a ball winner does his bit like everyone else but that's not his main attribute quick diagonals from deep boot footed gets you on the attack quick.
I disagree in that I don't think he will score a lot but he is more than capable of scoring.
For me cifuentes takes the lundstrum role.

From everything i have seen I don't think we will really use proper wide attackers. Can see 3-5-2 or 4-3-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 with inside forwards but definitely more flexibility next season.

Beale I know what he is I've seen him play a few times can do a bit of everything has mellowed a bit as he's got older doesn't fling himself around as much as he used to but definitely will still do more than lundstrum great passing range and can get out of tight situations with ball control.
He can be moved around pitch but think in Scotland could attack a bit more and in Europe can sit back and pick out counter passes for quick players up front
