hi fellow bears

I agree, I like hearing about the youth team but sometimes struggle to find how the game went and who scored. I'd like to have all the stats.

06 Dec 2016 16:35:30
hey fellow bears at last the young lads are getting a few results together glad to see it i wasnt impressed before but they are coming along nicely another game tomorrow night against dundee i think c'mon the youngsters and hardie with a hat trick!

briangersfan

1.) 06 Dec 2016 16:55:08
As in Hardie that's on loan at St Mirren just now?

2.) 06 Dec 2016 17:09:58
yeh spot on what a good result against Warburton needs a goalscorer
And hardie certainly looks like one he shouldn't be on loan he is good enough to be in This team and also Warburton wants a creative midfielder
I suggest he looks no further than Liam Burt if these young players do not get game time soon some will end up leaving.

3.) 06 Dec 2016 19:06:04
yes rutherglenbear hardie didn't play the other day so he played for the under 20s instead.

4.) 07 Dec 2016 13:32:21
And this is why MW doesn't change the formation. If we were to call on Hardie or Burt, they would know exactly what there role in the team would be. Will be a couple years before we start seeing elite level talents but we are on the right track finally after how long? 15 years?

22 Nov 2016 17:41:48
hi fellow bears is there anywhere where we can get live text commentary for the under 20's for tonights game v partick? kick off 18:00.

Hi fellow bears after I was slated on here for my concerns over our youth team development I still cannot understand how being 2nd bottom of the league is a positive place to be and that shows that the development is now being run correctly?, we do nothing but criticize our team for being 3rd in the premiership sack the manager Tec but the under 20,s 2nd bottom Is being run correctly? Sorry all but I'm lost on that one?

1.) 14 Nov 2016 11:35:40
Most of our youth players are out on loan, u20's is now made up by 16 and 17 year olds.

2.) 14 Nov 2016 11:50:48
It's just another example of the shambles that is currently our club. Warburton is doing nothing to build anything yet some people on here argue otherwise without producing any clear evidence.

3.) 14 Nov 2016 12:19:17
eat a snickers lads. Warburton is having to revamp a youth system that has been in disarray since it was built.

4.) 14 Nov 2016 12:27:28
Harsh reality. think of the second part of you're name. King came on board promising money warbuton seen what £1,9million if that. We have no money to develop our youth our team or stadium. we are being F*uKeD over buy a fat geordy. all you fans that claimed warbuton was our savour last season and called him the magic hat. Get a grip the guy has no money as his exspossel but still the team is doing ok. This was always going to be a hard task at hand and a harder league. maybe we should get religated again and you all might be happy that we are wining again. We are never going to be that team again so deal with it and move on. Warbuton can only do what he is doing, yeah change the formation and the players. Yeah he's made bad judgment in players I. E Barton. but the end of the day we are a team and a team that's going to fight. yeah Celtic miles better that's because they have had 4 years to save money and being in better players and play champions league football where the money is. we played Ladbrokes cup. so get a grip and just back out TEAM and harsh reality that's the reality of it off!

{Ed001's Note - Ashley is not a Geordie mate.}

5.) 14 Nov 2016 12:34:20
I understand they are young and some are out on loan where even there they are struggling to get a game I'm just not sure that going backwards is seen as a positive? Is it perhaps the days of pulling on a blue shirt doesn't matter anymore? if it carries on they won't want to better of else where they may get some success or recognition.

6.) 14 Nov 2016 12:33:46
Well a fat English guy! Haha.

7.) 14 Nov 2016 13:38:08
there is always a teething process when sum1 changes a system #briangersfan.
the best of our youth is loaned out or moved up a level which is hard for them but will make them better in the long run.
lots of german teams operate in this way and they have great development over there.
the way we had it didn't work and to be honest results in the youth don't make a difference to the first team so aren't as important more focus on the stars of the youth teams and their development is better for our future.

8.) 14 Nov 2016 13:48:51
understand both points of view - IF we were beginning to see some progress either in the First team or the youngsters.
Personal opinion is - get them winning from early age and get them used to that culture.
At the moment they are being told results don't matter, your only learning! and as for the U20's out on loan, god help us, 20 mins here 40 mins there, on subs bench (or not), where is their development?

9.) 14 Nov 2016 14:20:04
My personal opinion in the young bring up billy gilmour and slap £50m on him. If Celtic can with dembele why can we? Gilmour young and will develop more. my personal opinion. Considering there is, Bayern, Barcelona, PSG Real Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U, Man City swansesse, even Celtic. lots more too follow. Let the wee guy play slap a big tag on him, if he wants to leave then fair enough.

10.) 14 Nov 2016 15:32:01
Can't just say we'll sell him for £50M, the kid's only 15 years old! I'm hoping we hold onto him and he manages to break through to the first team in the next 2 or 3 years, THEN we could discuss his value. For now though, I for one think our youth programme has only improved since the change in management and ownership.

11.) 14 Nov 2016 16:26:25
Hopefully the boy will stay in Scotland and be developed but you are about to see the draw of big money as he approaches his sixteenth birthday and can sign for anyone it would appear lots of fat cheque books will be waved in this lads face. It maybe with all the troubles at ibrox the boy fancies more money at a stable club or he might see it as a opportunity to get first team promotion quicker with your lack of money to fund transfers.

12.) 14 Nov 2016 21:41:22
I would have hill and ohalloran in there.

13.) 16 Nov 2016 16:29:08
super ally? eh? youth team talk!

02 Nov 2016 14:50:05
hey all i seemed to be missing something here? everyone is talking about our young players and throwing crazy values on some yet since ian durrant has gone the under 20s have gone into a steady decline? i know we have an average age of 17 but where is the development there? losing every game? this cannot be good for the youngsters moral? we lost 1-0 to dunfermiline yesterday? not a mention anywhere? has rangers lost interest in them? seriously what is going on with them? it is kind of worrying seeing our youngsters spiraling downwards. maybe i'm missing something somewhere? can anyone throw some light on this worrying situation?

briangersfan

1.) 02 Nov 2016 15:07:32
Our under 20's are made up of 17 year olds, our best under 20's players are out on loan. Durrant had our best players at his disposal, currently we do not.

2.) 02 Nov 2016 15:26:21
Youth development at Rangers is now being run correctly! Emphasis is on each players development and on team shape and philosophy.
A player of say 16 who can control a game or score at ease is no longer held back at his age group to have that year group win all there games. Now that 16 year old will be fast tracked to the u20s where he will develop quicker and test himself more. This is to the detriment of results, however, very much a gain to the whole club.
If a player can't be moved to a set up that fits him within Murray park he will be moved to a loan environment that does.

3.) 02 Nov 2016 15:32:02
Warburton has recently said that he wants to push the young players more by playing them in more advanced age groups. He said its more important to keep them playing at a higher level than they should be and the only thing that matters is that the players get the right development and not the results of the youth leagues. One of the first things Warburton did when he arrived was work on revamping the youth set up so I think he sees it as a priority for Rangers to develop their own players rather than spend big bucks every window as rangers simply can't afford to do it. He starred out working in youth systems at Watford so hopefully he knows what he's doing.

4.) 02 Nov 2016 19:29:40
I hope we at least sign some good young scottish players though like gauld, fraser or Spittal.

5.) 03 Nov 2016 00:02:26
Yeah seems like we are pushing our youngsters, we have some of our under 16 moving up playing against under 19 and so on. I think that we will. see the benefits in poss the nxt 2-4 yrs. I definetly think that we will see the odd debut in low key games in 2yrs BUT this is why we need to stick with Warbs and not go down the same route of other clubs as it doesn't really fix problems as we have seen, Also we ARE 2nd it is just the performances that we are scrutinizing and rightly so BUT time Bears we must giv him time. If we not only get Europe but qualify for groups then Warbs will have delivered. I cannot wait to see what King provides Warbs to take on such a challenge.

not sure i agree thorn when the lad oduwa was playing well at the beginning of the season we would score 3/ 5 a game he was direct into the box hence waghorns penalty goal count. ok premier league may be better? but i think a good zouple of loan deals won't do us any harm also it keeps us in touch with english and european clubs who are starting to take a vit more notice of where we are going and what we are trying to do? yes i have my doubts about the youth team but will wait and see we all have to be patient.

agree with you james stirling! if our forwards were scoring in accordance with our possesion % then our defence wouldn't be as exposed . similar to celtic they concede but score more. simple really.

billy b what is it about the way the board are turning things around that you don't agree with? as far as i can see they have done a huge turnaround in a very very short time? and still have a huge job to do . dave king is by no means a foolish man, he will succeed and is succeeding. as anyone can see this . oh he hasn't spent all his money to bring instant success c'mon that will never happen and rightly so . funds will come when the leeches are rid of make no mistake . mr king won't give anything of his to fund these parasites why would he?
