Clement looking for 10 million. 4 years at 2.5m a year. Big decision for the board but could be the best 10 million spent for years. Not sure what contract muscat looking for?

Harthill loyal

1.) 13 Oct 2023 21:10:46
Hope part of that salary if correct is incentive based. which is fair enough. means if he earns that we are successful.

2.) 13 Oct 2023 22:52:44
Not a chance are we paying a manager 2.5m a year.

3.) 14 Oct 2023 05:09:32
Packages for both have been agreed in principle it's just the question of who no manager will have a contract with a massive wage we simply can't afford to pay that much we have to be responsible and not leave us exposed to having to pay off such a huge amount of money.

4.) 14 Oct 2023 06:56:41
Nice to know this kind of detail gets out b4 any announcement?
Maybe makes those in the frame think about the integrity of those negotiating (both sides)

5.) 14 Oct 2023 08:00:42
Paying him that much is an investment and he could easily make it back. If he gets a tune out of any of the underperforming players and their value increases he’s basically paid for himself.

6.) 14 Oct 2023 08:13:25
Big dado we have paid last three £2 million plus bonuses.

7.) 14 Oct 2023 09:54:50
2.5 is not much compared to our last managers in respect that they had very little experience to justify high wage Clement actually has a track record and only right he is worth a bit more.

8.) 14 Oct 2023 10:51:20
Without a good manager you win nothing. For success 2.5 year well worth it as trophies and euro runs bring more money in and if he has an eye for a player then money to be made in the future with player sales. It’s an investment. We can afford 2.5m a year ??????.

9.) 14 Oct 2023 11:53:52
If indeed it's Clement.

10.) 14 Oct 2023 13:14:22
How would anyone know the details of what money the candidates are asking for? If it was true and Rangers weren`t prepared to pay it, they would have moved on and not be considering Clement as a possible. That said, the right guy would be worth it and pay it back to the club by success that brings financial rewards from Europe, improved sponsorship and increasing value of players. One great manager is more valuable to the club than one great player.

11.) 14 Oct 2023 21:53:31
To get the best you need to pay the money, same in terms of signing new players. The quality of players signed in the past few seasons has been totally underwhelming. The Board worryingly will probably go with Muscat on a hope and a prayers, most likely giving consideration to the comments of the exCeltic Boss. Let's see what next week brings.

Guys at game today saying 2m from bassey sale and danilo now looks like being a goer.

Harthill loyal

1.) 22 Jul 2023 18:07:17
No money from Bassey sale, 100%.

2.) 22 Jul 2023 18:14:29
That 10% clause is based on Ajax making a profit on his sale they aren't making any profit as of now but I don't know if that would include if Fulham sell on.

3.) 22 Jul 2023 18:19:16
Could be, was on the bench today and still scored a screamer.

4.) 22 Jul 2023 18:23:40
I don't see why this supposed 2m (never been confirmed) we are meant to be getting from the Bassey sale (he's still not been sold) would make any difference?! If Rangers are refusing to budge because of our valuation of the player, then an extra 2m in the coffers won't change anything. If it was all down to having some extra money to spend, J Bennett, and the other directors, would have found the money to buy the boy.
I believe this is just a case of fans putting 2 and 2 together and making 5, again!

5.) 22 Jul 2023 18:34:59
Bassey was an out out defender, very quick and physical - he could get up and down the park however passing and interplay was not his strengths so for Ajax players past and present to criticise him for that is an indication they did not do their pre signing assessment properly.

6.) 22 Jul 2023 18:48:52
daily rebel, no money for bassey, here endeth the discussion.

7.) 22 Jul 2023 21:43:38
The we did get it/ didn't get saga re: Bassey sell on clause is irrelevant now. The main deal was when we sold him to Ajax for £19m or whatever it was last summer. Getting extra would be nice business but let's move on.

8.) 22 Jul 2023 22:54:00
Both Sky and Romano state that a 10% fee is included in the sale. I for one, will belive what both day before those 'apparent' in the know social media fans.

9.) 22 Jul 2023 23:25:33
Hope Bassey gets a move to the EPL, would be great to see him play again.

10.) 23 Jul 2023 09:32:36
Not getting a penny unless Ajax make a profit so anything above £19.2 million.

11.) 23 Jul 2023 10:09:30
Maybe we should be concentrating on developing our own youth sales rather than wondering what Ajax are going to do ?

Just a thought.

12.) 23 Jul 2023 11:31:01
correct rangers will get zero from the sale of bassey back to the premiership, Ajax bulked him up too much hence the reduction in his pace, trim him down a bit and he will be going for 40 mill in a season or 2, thanks to GIO spotting that he is not a LB but rather a LCB is what saw his value skyrocket from around 400k to 20 mill in less than 12 months, which had nothing to do with ross wilson.
It was Gerrard and Beale that knew of Bassey and identified him as backup for Barisic, Bassey has been the best CB we have had in the last decade, all wilson done was finalised the deal by getting the board to agree to pay the 250k development fee leciester were legally entitled too, not long after that we picked up basseys succesor as LB in the leicester youth team and that lad is Johnly Yfeko, who is already showing serious talent.

Better performance yesterday although hibs were poor. Hearts were even worse today. I honestly think no other teams are going to best us or them. I think we need to beat them 3 times now to win the league.

Harthill loyal

1.) 22 Oct 2023 20:42:33
Totally agree with you Harthill loyal this is the poorest looking season ever with the exception of the sheep against us I don’t know who they don’t fancy,
In the pub today with Hibs Hearts supporters, Hibs need to get rid of the old ones especially Marshall and Hanlon as for the Hearts Naismith jacket is on a very shoogly nail.

12 Oct 2023 18:20:12
The longer this drags on the worse I feel. What happens if we don't get either clements or muscat. Is there another candidate?

Harthill loyal

1.) 12 Oct 2023 18:57:16
Yes. Billy Davies.

2.) 12 Oct 2023 19:08:13
S. O. S. For Murty. ??.

3.) 12 Oct 2023 19:16:05
Its not dragging on, its two weeks since we sacked Beale and the recruitment process is being done professionally. Look what happened the last time when we didn`t do our homework and were hoodwinked by a cockney wideboy .

4.) 12 Oct 2023 19:18:38
We will get 1 of the 2. Remember it’s a multi million pound contract and one manager has to go to a country he’s probably never been to and the other has to cross the world. It’s not going to happen quickly.

5.) 12 Oct 2023 19:22:06
Lenny lol.

6.) 12 Oct 2023 19:32:29
Big mcleish.

7.) 12 Oct 2023 19:47:10
There is a serious third name. With a fourth name rejecting a job offer yesterday.

8.) 12 Oct 2023 19:58:56
Do you know who rejected the job John ? Who is your preferred choice ?

9.) 12 Oct 2023 20:05:00
John227, always appreciate your info sir, wouldn't surprise me one little bit if there is someone we haven't heard of yet.

10.) 12 Oct 2023 20:08:28
Sevilla have appointed Diego Alonso till the end of the season, and Glasner was linked with them.
John have these names been posted on this site?

11.) 12 Oct 2023 20:11:51
John was clement the person that knocked it back? And who is the 3rd name glasner?

12.) 12 Oct 2023 20:20:48
Who are they then john?

13.) 12 Oct 2023 20:21:54
I'm puzzled we're making job offers to a few managers ?I would have thought we would make an offer only to our chosen candidate ?.

14.) 12 Oct 2023 20:24:44
C'mon John, you can't tease us like this on a rumours site, give us names sir? To hell with anyone who questions you, you have a lot more backers on here than detractors.

15.) 12 Oct 2023 20:28:19
What job offer was rejected John227 was it part of the back room? Coaches job?
or DOF?

16.) 12 Oct 2023 20:52:23
He said a 4th person rejected a job offer yesterday, not an offer from us, an offer from another club, meaning he is still available.

17.) 12 Oct 2023 20:54:28
Sir Walter there is no guarantee our chosen targets accept.

18.) 12 Oct 2023 21:36:47
Wslgers4ever- as previously posted it could have been Glasner.

19.) 12 Oct 2023 22:33:39
Please let Gallardo be in the mix.

20.) 13 Oct 2023 08:08:47
I'll say again folks, trust the Board until you have a reason not to do so, up until now, they've done very well in my book.

21.) 13 Oct 2023 09:21:30
Storm, no it was Jansen, he was the clear number one, we made three attempts

The job offer was manager.

22.) 13 Oct 2023 09:23:04
Walter who all have we made offers too. Up until yesterday I’m told only Jansen was offered a job.

08 Oct 2023 12:46:47
What a shame for the young lad. Not having much luck on injury front. Hope young mccausland can shine 2nd half. Still lack of urgency for me especially against 10.

07 Oct 2023 17:13:24
2 guys from Japan league named wenger no one had heard of. Another called postegouglo no one had heard of. But muscat already not good enough for us. Wow I don't get some on here.

Harthill loyal

1.) 07 Oct 2023 17:37:32
Well Muscat went to Belgium and flopped?‍♂️.

2.) 07 Oct 2023 17:43:17
Correct Harthilll loyal ? There's just no pleasing some mate ?.

3.) 07 Oct 2023 17:45:56
Doesn't mean he'd flop at rangers MPH does it ?Muscat has won things in 2 different countries and plays a good brand of football ?.

4.) 07 Oct 2023 17:49:01
Pep guardiola heaping praise on kevin muscat and he reckons he'd be a very good appointment for us ?
Both neil mccann and our 9 in a row hero ian ferguson saying muscat is the correct appointment, if we can get him of course ?.

5.) 07 Oct 2023 17:54:03
Muscat needs to come in now and use the international break to scope the squad out and assemble his backrooom staff .

6.) 07 Oct 2023 18:04:48
I’m happy with Muscat or Clement. The more I hear about Muscat the more I like him. People should watch the video the rangers review just put up. My issue with him is how hard it’ll be to implement a high press and fast football with an aging defence and Lundstram and Jack in midfield.

7.) 07 Oct 2023 18:09:17
I'll back whoever we get but just hope they get here soon and have balls to shake things up. If dessers continues to play and Tav and goldson etc remain untouchable then we're doomed regardless of who we hire. Not saying Tav and goldson aren't the best options but on form they don't deserve automatic selection. Not seen enough of sterling to say if he can command full back shirt.

8.) 07 Oct 2023 18:12:09
Every manager we’ve ever had will have some big name player, or a manager, bigging them up. It standard.

Is Muscat a member of the city group? I know GVB and Ange were involved so some extent prior to coming to Scotland.

9.) 07 Oct 2023 18:25:48
The next manager will not succeed with this group of players. There needs to be another clear out. The question is do we have the money?

10.) 07 Oct 2023 18:29:43
Yes Muscat is something to do with the City Group . I don’t know what it entails .

11.) 07 Oct 2023 18:36:56
Yes Muscat is verdant.

Coops pep ain’t going to say bad things about a manager that works in same company.

We ain’t going to be able to appoint a manager that hasn’t flopped somewhere unless it’s his 1st job and we can’t take another rookie manager.

12.) 07 Oct 2023 19:14:01
Can’t see Muscat leaving before end of J-League. In a title race, Asian CL and the Japanese Cup. If it’s him we want, will be December. Maybe it’s not him of course.

13.) 07 Oct 2023 19:17:50
If it’s going to be Muscat I can see us possibly ending up with a few Japanese players in January as he knows that League as did Ange. I hated admitting it when they were giving us a hiding but some of those Japanese players are quality. They never stop giving 110 percent right to the final whistle. That’s what we need in our team regardless of where they come from. We need players who won’t give up.

14.) 07 Oct 2023 19:36:35
Azul, the Japanese players bring a high tempo and energy with incredible workrate and professionalism and of course skill ?.

15.) 07 Oct 2023 20:07:52
Azul, I think Big Ange will be getting the pick of any decent talent from the J league as the EPL will be a bigger attraction plus it will allow Spurs to tap into the fan base in Asia, the Spurs chairman is known for keeping a lid on his wallet and that market will be cheaper than Europe.

16.) 07 Oct 2023 20:33:10
Muscat may have a few gems of his own that might be willing to follow him, who knows? That’s if it’s even Muscat who gets the job. Have to wait and see what happens. I’m just glad who ever it’s going to be it’s not FL.

17.) 07 Oct 2023 21:44:42
Ange didn’t buy a single jap for spurs.

18.) 07 Oct 2023 21:52:21
Well apparently Moore had and recommended him but fell on deaf ears . allegedly.

19.) 07 Oct 2023 21:53:28
Another rookie manager good to see people taking my points on board and making it Thier own ??.

20.) 07 Oct 2023 21:54:51
Brummie no offense 5o j-league but think Ange will be aiming higher with the support from board after his decent start and fan backing cause if it goes pearshaped because of poor backing spurs fans will go mental.

Some posts on here the last few days. Why on this earth do people want to get 70 year old dinosaurs like warnock sourness alardice. There has got to be experience manager out there with fast attacking football ideas.

Harthill loyal

1.) 02 Oct 2023 20:02:27
Who do you want yourself as our new manager Harthilll loyal ?.

2.) 02 Oct 2023 20:40:51
Coops I don't get paid to scout managers but want someone with attacking ideas. Look at brighton fulham not top 6 teams but play attacking football and pleasing on the eye. Young lad at ipswich i really like but would job be to big for him. ?

3.) 02 Oct 2023 22:43:16
It’s 2023, Souness Allardyce Warnock are all from a different era we need to move forward not backwards.

There are coaches out there that play attractive winning football my own preference is the Red Star manager, he’s bold and a winner.

Sourness was able to go and buy englands best players. So no chance this is anything like the souness era.

Forgetting goals for and against. We have played them at home and also aberdeen at home while they have been away to us and aberdeen away. Should never be 7 points behind at this stage.

Can't be any worse storm. I still think midfield is lacking pace and vision. Maybe push raskin a bit further forward and see if he can create instead of sideway or backwards football.
