I was told yesterday that the Murty situation was his own doing. He was told by Mark Allen that they were close with Steven Gerrard as the new manager and Murty spat the dummy, not good news before an old firm game but he had to be told as the media were about to expose it. Looking back and his pre match interview before Celtic seems to make sense. He asked Robertson for a meeting to discuss his views and air his grievance etc and at that point he was relieved of his duties. Rangers had every intention of allowing him the last three games but due to how Graeme was and the performances and the internal fighting of Wallace and Miller it was deemed to be in everyone's interests that he be let go. This was from a Celtic daft friend who works closely with a number of people in the operations side of hospitality at Ibrox. Let's get behind Gerrard.

1.) 04 May 2018 11:07:10
Press conference 1500 from ibrox

2.) 04 May 2018 11:22:14
Murty was a truly awful appointment. And not the kind of character I want at Ibrox. He can frankly leave now - I think he's toxic. Don't want him near the kids now.

3.) 04 May 2018 11:35:23
That’s a little harsh.

4.) 04 May 2018 12:11:04
Agree Southend. Poor statement. Guy tried his best. Some people need to take a look at theirselves.

5.) 04 May 2018 12:55:17
Sure, give me a mirror and I'll look at myself. And stand by my opinion even further. Fed up of our fans handwringing.

6.) 04 May 2018 14:05:13
rfcrb I wasn't murtys biggest fan but "toxic"? Get a grip.

7.) 04 May 2018 14:28:18
rfcrb1872 are you saying you do not think the young academy teams hae improved in recent times and that Murty has not done well there.

I can feel your pain over recent weeks and he does hold some responsibility but at least he stepped up and had a go!

8.) 04 May 2018 15:31:06
Bluegenius: yes they have - under Kirkwood. Look at Murty's results with them then look at how Kirkwood has done this year and tell me they're not in better hands now.

9.) 04 May 2018 16:29:20
And to think People actually wanted murty as permanent manager only 4 weeks ago what a joke that is 😂

10.) 04 May 2018 16:31:18
Just to back up the guys point, under Murty at the start of the season the youth were pumped 5-1 by Leicester city. Kirkwood with the same players won 6-0.

11.) 04 May 2018 16:51:56
rfcrb1872 - I believe that a lot of their current success is due to things laid down by Murty. That is not to discredit Kirkwood who is also good.

I just think that Murty is not of the level to manage the first team and that specifically has worked out as a negative for both club and player, however not why he was employed for. We should credit him for what he was supposed to do and let him get on with it if he can. I guess those within the club will know if this is possible.
The more quality youth coaches we have the better for the club.

12.) 04 May 2018 22:20:04

Yes there were a few on here wanting him as Manager including the self proclaimed expert Supercooper. Remember though he knows more about Rangers than any of us.

19 Jan 2018 18:33:18
Heard from my seat mate at Ibrox and he was told club are looking at allowing Niko a free, his request was not to have his contract paid up as his other half wants to return to the USA, this will allow him to find a club for the start of the new MLS season. Also in Portuguese press Bruno looking for a move back home as he will have limited game time and Cardoso could be away by end of next week. Just need shot of Dalcio now if all this is true, seems believable let's all hope.

1.) 19 Jan 2018 18:56:29
Hope dalcio gets more of a chance

2.) 19 Jan 2018 19:01:12
As long as candies stay . with th right men in the box his crosses would be very handy

3.) 19 Jan 2018 19:25:01
Itslian team want alves

4.) 19 Jan 2018 21:30:28
Dalcio can be sent back if we want, Murty has been trying him in WB position so maybe he sees something in him that can be useful.
Alves linked with bottom club in Serie A, think we will keep Cardoso If Bruno goes so we have Wilson, Martin as senior CB and Bates and Cardoso 3/ 4th choice and hopefully send Aiden Wilson on loan so we have plenty of cover.

Niko and Rossiter are both on around £14k per week and as much as I want both to be a success I think £25-30k in frees up wages could be spend better.
If anyone fancies either (especially Niko) i'd release on a free

5.) 19 Jan 2018 22:51:49
Kranjcar wasn't playing in the MLS. he was playing in the 3rd division (National Soccer League) . So doubt he's getting a move to the MLS.
We always get players into the pool before sweeping the deadwood out. Interesting to see who we can shift. Hodson, Dalcio, Alves and Herrera for me please.
We need another full back, but I don't think we have been linked to anyone in this window.

6.) 19 Jan 2018 23:15:15
Get rid of Niko and rossiter ASAP. Both have been garbage. Too much wages for no return.

7.) 20 Jan 2018 00:17:50
I’d give Rossiter till the summer and assess it then. The young lad is highly thought of down south. I’d try and get shot of Hodson, Herrera, Niko, Cardoso and Alves in this window if poss.

8.) 20 Jan 2018 07:16:55
Everytime I've saw Rossiter he's looked good. I'd give him till the summer see if he can get clear of injuries.

9.) 20 Jan 2018 09:09:36
Id play one of the youngsters over niko any day. Its ashame on him but he has no pace or stamina at all.

10.) 20 Jan 2018 09:42:56
Niko when he played in the English premier league was a good player, his legs have gone no though. Just show's how bad breadman and his transfer policy was. Rossiter can't be on £14k a week surely?

11.) 20 Jan 2018 10:34:38
Closer to 10k I think blueberry

Heard from my season ticket holder fellow bear who sits next to me tonight. Not sure who his source is but he always seems to be accurate. He said the guys are looking at 4 more depending on departures, Fwd, Winger, Defender plus maybe A FB. All dependant on

1.) 11 Jul 2018 06:25:30
Is your source a ‘die hard’ fan?

{Ed001's Note - disappointing there is no Gruber in the list.}

05 Oct 2017 09:40:27
I seen in the gallery of training pics Miller was involved in first team training yesterday.

10 Jul 2017 12:57:21
Can anyone tell me if the overpaid useless gets have been back in training since last weeks shambles? I have seen nothing from the club since Dorrans, no update on pre-season plans or pics of them back in training or anything. the silence is deafening. Wish someone would just tell us what now to prepare for next season.

1.) 10 Jul 2017 13:30:23
Would it make any difference to you? Your post is so negative that I'm not sure I could be bothered updating you

05 Jul 2017 09:41:13
I have a burning desire to really let rip at the situation after last night but I am trying desperately to be supportive in the horrific aftermath of last nights result.

First of all the result was an absolute shocker, no excuses what so ever in getting humiliated by a part time team.

We seriously need to address the lack of creativity in the final third, and more importantly in the wide areas, none of the players I have seen seem to be able to run and beat a man and deliver a final ball that ends in a clear cut opportunity.

We need to stop playing players out of position - play miller as a CF or bench him for someone else, this pigeon holing players in to a formation is stupid and didn't work for the bread man and won't work now. If you must have him in with other players change the formation to accommodate them in the correct positions.

Wallace should also do the right thing and hand back the captaincy - as he is no way captain material. We need a boss on the park and he seems scared to get opinionated at other members of the team. Gough, McCall, Amo, Barry, McCulloch, to name a few would not of stood for that, during the game last night.

I can't help but think we missed a trick in not bringing Barry in to the coaching setup, we need someone to galvanise the players on what it means to be at Rangers and someone who has been there through the good and bad times. I like JJ a lot and would have thought that brining in both him and Barry would have been a better solution - just my opinion.

Last a friend of mine - who always seems to know things before it happens (he says due to his work) but he told me that McKay was due to start last week but informed Ped that he didn't want to play and that he wanted to leave ASAP - hence why he was sent to the U20 to train. This disrupted plans for the game. ( bit would have made no difference - probably)

Now a month to go before the first game and we need fixtures ASAP otherwise its going to be a tough start to the campaign. I am hoping that there is something to look forward to for the first home game of the season.

1.) 05 Jul 2017 13:44:21
Detmcclane1988, good post agree with all you say with exception of Barry as a coach. Sorry he may have the club at heart but he is not and never will be a coach.

Declan John has been injured and was close to a return, but his family have not settled in Scotland, and therefore he asked Rangers to facilitate in helping him move closer to his friends and family in Wales. He was not frozen out or sold to balance books, but we did get 800k for him plus addon's and a sell on % for a player we managed to get on a free in December after an initial loan period, plus Windass cost us 90k and sold for the same add on's and 2.5m, for a player that could not be consistent enough to be a real asset.

Klopp signed gin on A long term deal last year but feels that Liverpool so not his grade anytime soon and needs 3 season of first team football to be even close to be considered. I was on a stag 2 weeks ago with guys who know the family and boy and that was what he has been told. This was all before rangers interest, they were saying he will go on loan with an option to buy somewhere but they believed Liverpool will insist on a % of next sale or a buy back clause. Just passing on as I was asking about Wilson and we got on to Kent and at that time there was no discussion of us.

I also heard things depend on the European run and player departures. Fod, Wallace, Hodson and possibly Haliday.

The rumours at the hospitality last week were that they have two lists, one list based on European run and the other without.

Scours have been in Sweden, Norway, Croatia and Poland looking at players recently, Allen and Gerrard will be the only ones k who know what players and positions.

It wasn't clear that celtic had the option to but the lad from PSG. We will have some control of the player does well and they don't want him next summer we will have first dibs like celtic did with the French lad.

How bad is the candyman, what does he have to do to get dropped. He is a great player up until the final third. All teams know stop Kent and make them use Candelias as he isn't going to hurt anymore, fill off effort with little end product, for the amount of time he spend in those areas he should have a huge amount of assists.

Look on here everyone talks about how great players are on YouTube. I remember last season everyone raving about Pena, Herrera and Cardoso and stating wow these guys are amazing and going to rip it up in Scotland, if the back of YouTube videos. Also Aaron Neneme from city everyone was going nuts for and all were horrific. Now Katic and barasic are looking very good in this team and a great market for us, trust in the scouts and we will be good, going by YouTube is false.

been saying this at Ibrox for all of last season, but I was shot down everytime by others who love the fact he works really hard. Sorry but good players are praised for ability and what they do and not for working hard, as good players make working hard look easy.

He would have been closer to the first team in the last 12 months if it wasn't for a bad foot/ ankle problem that needed an operation that ruled him out for 6 to 8 months, he only returned towards the end of March start of April if I recall. High hopes for him though.
