Messi could sign for us and there would be still some fans saying he's not Rangers class. I'd take Scott McTominey in a minute if we could get him, but doubt we could.
And no, I'm not comparing Messi to McTominey - just saying how some of our fans have delusions of grandeur when it comes to the standard of players we're capable of attracting now.

Think some people only watch EPL top 6 teams and imagine us playing there. Next it will be Fodens missed a few for City so couldn't play for us. Some need to lower their expectations. McTominey would be brilliant here but not going to happen anyway. Think the Tom Davies shout is more likely tho no idea if anything in it. Someone who hasn't quite hit the heights expected of him but still quality there. Still young and Move could reignite his career if Beale gets best put of him again.

If we are in the hunt for a new manager, a manager full of passion fight and desire we should seriously consider Duncan ferguson. Worked as a number 2 at Everton and learned a lot alongside top coaches. less of a gamble than gerrard.
