So after watching that 2nd half horror show, it is clear that goldson is the one that holds the defence together and organises everything but after his injury it leaves us with massive problems with the cb position, in my opinion it was a huge mistake letting both Katic and balogun go as we took a gamble on soutar simple due to his injury record, so what I'm asking is who would we say is at fault for this position we find ourselves in? Is it gio, Wilson the board? Surely they must have seen that there was a chance of something like this cropping up? As helander is constantly injured, Davies is just starting to get upto speed with his fitness, soutar in the medical room more often than the physio and now goldson out for what is being presumed as months, should we have brought in another cb or should we have kept one of either katic or balogun? As going with only Davies and King as our only 2 fit centre half's is a huge worry.

Davies being acessed for injury also. Could have just king only centee half available at weekend.

2.) 13 Oct 2022 13:34:59
Didn't Goldson play in the defeats ( and full 90 minutes ) to Celtic, Ajax, Napoli and Liverpool?

3.) 13 Oct 2022 13:44:08
Said at the time it was a mistake letting Balogun go and we should have offered him a new contract.

4.) 13 Oct 2022 14:22:23
Exactly MPH I can’t believe that because what happened last night people now think Goldson is maldini ? it was also his own fault he got injured as he didn’t deal with the ball 1st time and then had to stretch to try and recover his mistake.

5.) 13 Oct 2022 15:44:16
Storm I'm not saying goldson is Maldini, but he is clearly OUR best cb, so what we have going into the next few games is the lad King who has a lot of potential but still fairly untried over a number of games which he is now going to get (that could be a good thing) and Davies who someone else has stated is also potentially carrying an injury, then there is sands so why have we found ourselves in this position? Cause I for one would have kept one of either balogun or Katic, preferably balogun but we are left in this situation which has been created by either the board and Wilson or the manager or a combination of all of them and I personally find that unacceptable to be left in this position as I think the recruitment has been extremely poor.

6.) 13 Oct 2022 15:49:21
storm i hit the agree button by mistake, your post is utter garbage, a man injures himself trying to win a ball and you slag him off you should be ashamed of yourself, no heart in your chest it must be a brick. and by the way i won't answer any more of your posts so you can bog off.

7.) 13 oct 2022 16:28:08
it doesn’t matter what people might or might not think

goldson was the senior man in a defence trying to hold liverpool and their stars out

it was a massive loss.

8.) 13 Oct 2022 17:48:34
Blaming goldson for getting injured and slagging him when the score was respectful until he left the park.

9.) 13 Oct 2022 18:13:19
It was his own fault tho do you want me to lie if he dealt with the ball 1st time like a good defender should he wouldn’t have been injured that is not an opinion that is FACT.

I ain’t saying he ain’t our best defender but last night would still have happened even if he stayed on the pitch.

10.) 13 Oct 2022 20:15:23
When he was on the pitch it was 1-1 I'm not saying we wouldn't have been beaten but I'd hazard a guess it wouldn't have been 7 as soon as the game restarted in the second half the defence was all over the place something it wasn't when goldson was on the pitch and organising the defence, surely you can see that, that isn't a coincidence.

Well that was a game of two half's first half we just couldn't break them down and the defending fir their goal was horrendous, for me and its only my opinion I'd have the lad sands in before souttar not only on todays performance but I'm not a fan of souttar at all I think we let better go in balogun, but arfield made a huge difference with the timing of his runs and the lad tillman looks a decent player, but we kept going and got two good goals onwards and upwards from here.

Forever I hope shutter doesn't cost us in future games, he looks out of depth just now.

2.) 30 Jul 2022 14:37:28
I actually agree about sands today bit i think Souttar will be good in games at Ibrox when teams sitting in, he is really good at carrying the ball out of defence and creating overloads by breaking through the lines.

3.) 30 Jul 2022 14:46:01
I know it's a tad early for Tillman and I'm not putting him in same bracket. But can any of the old guard remember when Laudrup first arrived? He was laying balls off and sliding passes to no one for a while, until the rest of the team caught on.
Saw a bit of that today, I thought.

4.) 30 Jul 2022 14:54:47
Souttar is right footed and gone from the right side of a back 3 at Hearts to left centre back. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now and time to adjust but that is not an infinite amount of time. Sands in his natural position fitted the system better. Davies will be a natural fit for left centre back. If Souttar ends up as back up to Goldson he'll struggle for game time. On a different note and on first impressions only Malik Tilman has some future!

5.) 30 Jul 2022 15:00:16
It's difficult as we set up with two wide players to stretch them and create space for Kamara and Lawrence to move in to - however as soon as they scored they camped out and left virtually no space anywhere.

Thought the change in system at half time and the change in players were spot on.

It's going to take Souttar time to adjust from playing central in a 3 to being LCB in 2. although, I assume with the money spent on Davies that he'll fill that role when fit.

6.) 30 Jul 2022 15:01:58
Like I said I've never been a big fan of him but I hope he proves me wrong but going on today's showing he is far from ready to be starting every week for rangers it's only the first game so hopefully it's just match sharpness and it's just first game nerves from him as he can't continue to play like that.

7.) 30 Jul 2022 15:21:03
Jesus guys, he’s a right centre half playing left centre half while Daves gets up to speed, how about a little support while he settles. He’ll do well if the boo boys stay clear.

8.) 30 Jul 2022 15:52:03
Exactly Dado. For heaven's sake give the lad a break.

I'm unsure what way to look at it is it a case of the manager isn't the right guy for the job or is it that players aren't playing for the manager or is it just both those things? For me the players need to take as much responsibility for the way things are going as the manager is, because they are being paid big wages to go out there and give their all for that jersey, are we seeing them do that? NO, it's clear certain players aren't interested and I get that it is the manager that takes the fall if the team isn't performing but no matter who the manager is if the players don't do what they are paid to and that is go out and try to win every single time they step foot on the pitch because they don't like the manager, then what chance do managers have? Also the fact that our board don't want to part with much money for players, unless they are for development or seem to have a history of injuries and pick them up for peanuts, what can the manager do? There are a good few players that need to go before the manager for me.

Villa being my English team I hope he does well I wasn't very happy with him at first not because he left us as it was always going to happen at some point but by the way he left, so when he went to villa I was a bit unsure of how I felt about it but now I just hope he does well as what he did for rangers is what he should be remembered for.
