Ross Stewart is coming a free agent i'd happily bring him back to Rangers

RangersBob, On his game Stewart is different class. His problem is injuries. See he's picked up a knock with the Scotland squad.
06 Jun 2026 12:57:05
I agree. My star ๐ Ross Stewart is a good striker, but has injury issues. ๐ค I definitely would sign him if he didn't have these injury issues, and he's a Rangers supporter into the bargain. ๐๐ฌ๐ง
06 Jun 2026 13:07:18
Decent striker, but we have better at present. Also, we need to keep away from players with injury problems; we have been caught out so many times.
06 Jun 2026 14:17:09
2 injury prone, just not worth the risk.
06 Jun 2026 19:43:42
At a free, it's not really a risk, and if he is a Rangers supporter he wouldn't be hard to deal with, and will give that little extra effort that some wouldn't.
06 Jun 2026 03:23:50
Can anyone remind me of the other deals ITK posters have mentioned as being done and dusted I think either John or EHL maybe Aph mentioned that a few free agents were tied up. Can anyone refresh the memory was there positions mentioned and maybe even the leagues they were coming from?
Also one for discussion. Memorable or favourite transfer windows? Worsts got to be Jerome Rothen. A memorable one for me was 2004/2005 I remember the Rangers news having a photo of about 6 or 8 players Alex Rae, my namesake, kygriakos Prso novo. Great buisness done that season on a budget. Think big eck was playing Championship manager taking more of his boys tips!

I remember that 2004 one. Was away on holiday, before internet, and could only get a Record every few days and seeing we had signed about 8 lads in a few days.
2000 was also amazing, sure it was Caniggia, Loverkrands, Ricksen, Flo. All the chat was Hartson coming, then Ronald De Boer snuck in from nowhere.

Stevie G, I realise everyone is entitled to their opinions in general, mate, and of course in this instance regarding our new away kit launch. ๐ค
So here's my opinion regarding this subject, ie. I actually like our new white/cream whatever away jersey and it is plain, traditional and tidy and that's my preference on Rangers kits, and with our new Rangers home jersey which will come out in due course, that's an absolute belter imo and very retro, which again I like. ๐
The fallout by some of our supporters regarding this new away kit is over the top for me.
What a hulabaloo has been created over a football kit. ๐ฒ It's only a football kit, and the most important thing is our famous scrolled badge is on it, and it's how our team play in any kit is the most important thing for me. ๐ค For any supporter who doesn't like it, just don't buy it. Pretty simple I would have thought. ๐ค I do realise on everything Rangers and in life in general you will never please everyone, but honestly some of our supporters are just never happy and moan about absolutely everything. ๐ค
06 Jun 2026 06:29:21
It's the players who will be wearing it who I'm more interested in.
06 Jun 2026 07:06:14
People will have their say on it, me, think it's mince tbh, regardless of who thinks otherwise, it's how they play that matters.
06 Jun 2026 07:12:14
I'm not a fan of it at all.
06 Jun 2026 08:08:02
Have to say I'm not 100% sold on it but as long as it's not green and has our badge on it I'll buy it. ๐
06 Jun 2026 08:09:44
Fork, what's your thoughts on our new Rangers home jersey, mate, if you don't mind me asking. ๐ค
06 Jun 2026 08:35:03
Like it, it's kind of retro, like the pinstripe Coops. ๐
06 Jun 2026 09:29:28
In my opinion, as long as players perform in new strip. Missed a chance to create a cracker that would have generated a handsome sum. Certainly, going by option, this top won't be a best seller.
06 Jun 2026 10:19:11
You are right SWS, people won't buy it if they don't like it. So the club will make less money off it. Now and again there's a nice one, but mostly rubbish imo. You see all these concept tops, and they look great, and fans love them. The home pin stripe one looks a cracker, though. ๐
06 Jun 2026 10:22:20
Sir Walter, you are absolutely spot on. What a load of over-the-top nonsense by some about the away kit. It's a football strip at the end of the day. What matters is what the team does on the park and that we get back to winning titles and trophies.
I couldn't care less it the players ran out stark boll***ed naked, as long as they win! Hope all my fellow bears are well.
06 Jun 2026 11:31:08
Nicer away or 3rd kits make more money, it's very, very simple. Tops that aren't well received generate less, and people will not be scrambling to get them or going all out. Heard a few of my mates' sons saying they don't even want it. Now that's a first for me, kids / teens not wanting a top, that truly should be alarm bells.
I'll not be buying it, that's for sure. I usually buy them every year for the last 30 years, but with season tickets and home strip I'm doing more than enough so zero guilt.
06 Jun 2026 12:06:04
For a T-shirt looking top, 85 quid is crazy. Over 100 Dollars if yer in America, thanks to tarrif and shipping.
06 Jun 2026 13:19:33
Liked our 2008 UEFA Cup Final strip.

Brilliant start for Scotland, two early goals in what could be a goal difference shoot out against Belgium.

Hope you aren't watching it on Alba, as the picture seems to be cutting in and out. All 69000 Gaelic speakers must be watching all at same time. ๐
05 Jun 2026 18:28:40
Hahaha, I sure was, Angus.
Weir masterclass to make it 4.
Another couple will do me nicely.
05 Jun 2026 18:50:19
6 now, but Cuthbert looks like her knee has gone in that tackle. Hopefully not ACL, but it looks bad from what was a nothing tackle as well. Result great, but tinged if she is out for a while.
05 Jun 2026 19:46:51
Yeah, absolutely gutted for her.
05 Jun 2026 20:12:04
Was watching my brother on Alba for the playoffs and Craigan was still more annoying than the Gaelic speaking commentator. ๐
05 Jun 2026 20:16:07
Belgium 2-0 at HT. If Luxembourg can keep it down to 3 or 4, that's a great position to be in. 6-0 tonight was a massive result.
05 Jun 2026 21:36:35
No such luck, Cooper. 4 goals ahead going into the last game is massive though.
06 Jun 2026 00:43:09
My 11 yr old daughter plays EHL, and you seem to be great for into in to the women's game. Trouble is, she plays in mixed ages due to lack of participation in the local area, and really wants to stick with the local team.
I feel this hampers her development. She plays in midfield and performs brilliantly playing against girls at similar ages. Struggles with the physicality when playing older girls.
Just ranting, I suppose, but if she was a boy, there would be much more scope to play against specific age groups.
On a plus note, I'm delighted girls football is developing so well. I have been very impressed by the standards at times and the coaching. Would just be more beneficial for her to be playing U12s instead of U14s, I suppose.
06 Jun 2026 08:16:50
R1M2, It's a common issue in both boys and girls - a lot of clubs are struggling with numbers and a lot of people are having to travel more and more to keep their kids involved.
I could rant about the issue with age banding all day long - it's such a deterrent for technically gifted player.
06 Jun 2026 09:47:50
EHL, I think I understand where you are coming from, but do players not develop more physically if they play in the age band above them, or at least need to use their technique to bring parity?
I am thinking about Rice, where it has been said that he is physically behind, so how does that happen if we 'force' kids to play in higher age groups?
I am not disagreeing with you for one minute here, just don't really understand.
06 Jun 2026 11:33:22
My brother coached Bailey for years, raved about the boy / young man, needs to play and needed to play last year or two, no good to him or the club wasting away, very poorly handled with the club in my opinion.
06 Jun 2026 13:02:13
Angus, that depends entirely on whether they are at a biological stage where physical development is actually possible.
The clearest example of this, following our discussion earlier this week, is a player like Pedri. He possesses immense natural talent, which he was able to master because bio-banding allowed him to compete against players of a similar physical stature.
Under a strict chronological age system, his natural ability might have been completely overwhelmed by physically superior peers, potentially stunting his footballing growth.
Conversely, players who enjoy an early physical advantage often become over-reliant on their strength or speed.
Because they can dominate on athleticism alone, they fail to develop the essential technical attributes required to survive once the physical playing field levels out at the U21 to U23 levels.
In terms of Rice, his development temporarily stalled because he was technically gifted enough to coast through games, meaning he desperately needed to be stretched at the U21 and U23 levels to build his physical capacity.
Jumping straight from U19 football to the first team proved to be too massive a physical leap. This sudden intensity deficit is precisely why he suffered repetitive injuries and managed so few first-team minutes.

It has been suggested that Leeds and Rangers come closer regarding players. How about Jack Harrison? Can play left wing or attacking midfield. Has been on loan at Fiorentina last season. I think he would be an asset if we can afford the wages.

05 Jun 2026 17:46:48
Yeah, Leeds chairman hinted at it.
05 Jun 2026 18:47:28
Wouldn't mind taking Gnoto or Tanaka.
05 Jun 2026 19:19:02
Tanaka would be an outstanding capture but unfortunately I don't think it's likely to happen. I'll be delighted if it did.
05 Jun 2026 20:04:43
Yeah, I don't see it either. Had a look at their squad and struggled to see anyone we take from them. Piroe would have made sense before Shankland, but don't see it now.
05 Jun 2026 20:12:54
Tanaka would be top, maybe a couple that would seem out of reach just now could become possible if they make a few big signings this summer.
05 Jun 2026 20:19:28
Tananka gets a lot of game time, no chance we get him.
06 Jun 2026 00:34:24
Who would Leeds want from us??
Quid pro quo, presumably??
06 Jun 2026 06:25:14
Ayrshire mate, would you have taken Piroe before Shankland. ๐ค
06 Jun 2026 07:22:33
I'd rather we walked our own path.
06 Jun 2026 08:15:06
Like you, Fork, as much as possible, let's have our own pathway to our first team and develop our own players as much as humanly possible, through our own youth academy. ๐ค Nothing better than seeing your own talent coming all the way through, and hopefully, with the proper coaching/scouting etc this can be achieved much more, going forward. ๐
06 Jun 2026 09:49:52
But is it a partial solution to our kids not having that path due to no under 21/23 football. Could we use that element to our benefit. So we get some of their older age group players and our 19 year olds are loaned to play in their younger age groups.
tbh, I don't see us getting their first team squad to come. In the same way, I don't think we will give our stars to them.
06 Jun 2026 10:26:33
If we were offered 20m for Chermiti, surely makes sense to sell and use the money to fund a lot of this summer's signings, even try and get in Piroe.
05 Jun 2026 15:48:52
Could Young Curtis Mybe play Right Back / wing.?
Agree1

05 Jun 2026 17:47:11
Nope, better out wide or in 10.
06 Jun 2026 06:27:57
Totally agree with Storm. ๐ Curtis is really good in the attacking third, so definitely for me he plays as our wide left or as a no.10, and I think 10 is his best position from what I've seen of him. ๐ค In saying that, the young man is very capable of coming inside off the wide left anyway. ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง
06 Jun 2026 07:25:40
If he gets to play there, it means Moore can go elsewhere for development by someone else and not at Curtis' expense. Boy needs to be a starter.
