Ehl you keep mentioning three in midfield but seem to forget that we have clawed ourselves back into the title race playing two in central midfield and two up top. Chermiti flourishes with two up top. Why would you want to undo all that hard work and success to revert back to a system that has failed us season after season?

22 Apr 2026 12:25:09
And that is why Danny Rohl said 4-3-3 Boyne. 🀣

Take a day off.

22 Apr 2026 12:26:09
Boyne, I keep mentioning it as it's my option.

I'd also argue that we started clawing our way back into the title race the moment Rohl took over, during which he's probably played more games with 3 midfielders than he has 2.

Lastly, without getting too caught up in the details, just because we start two strikers doesn't mean we play two up top.

22 Apr 2026 12:30:06
Correct, Ehl, but Coldo has been obsessed with 4-4-2 for the past 6 years.

22 Apr 2026 12:38:20
I have to agree with EHL here. Miovski was playing behind Chermiti against Falkir, even the manager said it was 433.

22 Apr 2026 13:17:14
What they said. β¬†οΈπŸ‘

22 Apr 2026 13:56:46
Not today though. πŸ‘

22 Apr 2026 11:54:56
Stevie I just don't think that Dio has performed consistently enough. A big reason why Rohl went and bought Chukwuani. Dio never seemed to control the midfield, he was never any good at breaking the lines or the holding position. He has now quite rightly and thankfully lost his place in the team. I don't think anyone would disagree that we are a much better team without Dio in it.

I try not compare what other teams paid for players because other teams can get it wrong and over pay just like Celtic did with Engles. Lennon Miller is a far better player than Dio and would have been a great addition to our team as he was already up to speed with our game.

I just don't see how we can demand a figure of Β£8m for a player who lost his place in our team and his national squad and has been inconsistent throughout his Rangers career. I hope we do get that kind of money but I would be stunned if we did. I just hope we can get our money back. We have lost an absolute fortune on duds over the last few years. We don't want to spend Β£7m on Skov but expect to sell Dio for Β£8m. It just doesn't make any sense. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅.

Diomande is one of the most technically gifted players in our team. Easily worth 8-10 million euros.

22 Apr 2026 11:10:26
Well that puts an end to one debate 🀣

James Tavernier thank you for your commitment to Glasgow Rangers.

Thank you for your service and I wish you the very best in your future whatever you decide.

Let's win 56 secure your legacy as a multiple title winning captain πŸ’™.

22 Apr 2026 11:51:19
That's the correct decision. Now let's go win the title and we can give him the proper send off as the legend he should be remembered as.

22 Apr 2026 12:00:10
Amazing signing for us, hopefully leaves on a high.
He took some stick at times, but was our best player in a poor team when we came back up.
On our 55 season and Euro runs, he was superb.

22 Apr 2026 12:03:04
Club Legend!

22 Apr 2026 12:29:50
Is it time for Tav to move on, are his best days behind him? Definitely- has he cost us goals and games over the 10 years he's been here and should have won more trophies? Absolutely- but for 250k to walk away with roughly 300 goal contributions from full back, far outweighing the bad stuff, to stopping that lot doing the 10, to being top scorer in a run to a European final that none of us will ever forget whilst hardly ever being injured and representing the club with class and dignity at all times and picking up a couple of cups along the way he has been an absolute steal and he should go with all our best wishes, all this serial loser stuff is nonsense, he's been part of a club that has struggled to sort itself out since 2012 and any failures to win more trophies in that time lie at many other people's doors before James Tavernier.

22 Apr 2026 12:40:01
As one of James Tavernier's biggest fans I thank this guy from the bottom of my heart, as a Rangers supporter. πŸ‘πŸ‘ Tav undoubtedly has records at Rangers and within British football that will never be broken. πŸ‘Œ His loyal committment to Glasgow Rangers is there for all to see and definitely deserves a testimonial. πŸ€” In my 50 years of going to watch Rangers, Tav has to be one of the biggest bargains ever at a mere 200k from Wigan in 2015. πŸ‘Œ I thank this guy for all the memories and wish him nothing but the best, to wherever he now continues his career, beyond this season.

πŸ™ I've often stated on here that we wouldn't have been anywhere near the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt if it wasn't for Tav. πŸ€” What an outstanding tournament he had. πŸ‘Œ So I hope we all get the chance to say goodbye and proper send of in his testimonial game. πŸ™ Tav will always be ingrained in Rangers, always welcome back and part of our Rangers family forever. πŸ‘πŸ‘ πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ All the very best, Tav. πŸ‘ πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ We'll miss you. ☹️

22 Apr 2026 10:56:56
Tavernier announced he is leaving at end of the season. Hopefully goes with another league medal.
Considering his transfer fee has done well for club but think time us right for change.

Top scoring defender in the history of Scottish football. He has served the club well, but we now move on. Tav, whether some will like this or not, will always be remembered as a club legend.

22 Apr 2026 11:40:21
Tav is the all time highest scoring defender in British football, Dtb.

22 Apr 2026 09:46:09
Karl Hein would be a good option.

I know his loan has not worked out due to not being able to dislodge Mio Bachhaus but that is no embarrassment.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Apr 2026 11:01:45
Just had a quick look on him, GK for Arsenal.

22 Apr 2026 11:07:28
Yes Strom, over 40 caps for Estonia, a lot of potential in the boy, unfortunately Bachhaus is an unbelievable goalkeeper, so he has not had too many games.

21 Apr 2026 23:03:19
Stevie, What makes you think that we will get Β£8-10m for Diomande when he warms our bench? If he was an Β£8-10m player then would be 100% a starter for us and would be in the Ivory Coast squad. I hope we do get that kind of money but in my opinion I highly doubt it. We are a better team without that Β£8-10m player in it. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅.

Agree5 Disagree0

21 Apr 2026 23:25:32
It's a fair question bro, I think he's an Β£8m player easily if u look at players like Lennon Miller going for up to Β£6m or we Celtic paying Β£11m for Engels, I'd say Dio is a better mf player than Engels.

What's your thoughts on that?

I just think a club of day 4-10th in France would all be looking at him and Β£8m is a fair price these days, he's young, he's very good on the ball although lacks concentration at times and I think his fault is he's not got up with pace of our game here.

France, Germany, Holland, Belgium all would suit him and I think Β£8m is a reasonable valuation mate. Maybe not 10.

21 Apr 2026 23:38:16
Bernardo Β£6m as well.

Go down south, and it's youth players going for millions. He's n international with a helluva lot of euro experience, and if he wins the league here that be 2 titles in 2 countries if I'm correct if not sorry.

21 Apr 2026 23:43:01
Sorry I've checked n I'm wrong.

22 Apr 2026 01:05:01
If Skov Olsen is worth Β£7m then Diomande is absolutely worth Β£10m+. Diomonde is a better player. In fact, I'm surprised we haven't tried Diomande at Rw since he is a left-footed attacking player. The Rangers players start out wide, but drift into the space normally occupied by number 10s, which Diomande is. We did this with Aribo occasionally, and it worked out great.

22 Apr 2026 01:12:51
Rohl Doo played left attack in a 3 at his last club a good few times, and left of mf 3, and he looked a more of an attack threat in videos fi have a look.

I would say that he's been a disappointment of a signing due to how good he looked at his last club.

I thought he'd be a better version of Kamara, but Kamara prob better than him.

He's still worth Β£8m easy.

22 Apr 2026 02:14:46
Diomande is suited to certain games when we need to retain the ball. As someone has said, maybe he's playing out of position and should be in a more attacking role, but to me his strength lies when you're under pressure in matches, and he will buy fouls and can take the ball in tight spaces.

22 Apr 2026 05:54:46
So Boyne, how much do you think Dio is worth mate. πŸ€”

22 Apr 2026 06:55:50
Dio will be worth what any club wishes to pay for him πŸ€” - so let's hope, if he is for sale, then we start and continue getting top dollar for our players as we have acted like a fire sale company in the past and given players away for buttons - he is a 24 year old International with good experience and a lot of football in front of him, so his price should reflect that.

22 Apr 2026 08:17:33
Personally, I like Dio and think he could be worth that, but until we start winning things, we won't get those kind of fees. Celtic have been able to cash in because of success.

22 Apr 2026 09:22:37
Dio has been 'warming' the bench as he suffered a dislocated shoulder early in March and is struggling with the recovery.

The issue he is facing is that he originally injured the shoulder in January, and continued to try and play through it - which resulted in significant weakening and further damage, which has made the recovery process much more difficult.

Personally, I'm hoping that this injury and the injury to Barron is the reason that Rohl's tweaked the balance in midfield, and as those two come back into the fold, we'll see us going back to having three in the midfield.

22 Apr 2026 10:57:08
Dio is a good player. I don't think he is entirely suited to Scottish game, but he is a lot better than what some give him credit for.

Boyne fans can have any valuation the like on players as it's their own opinion.

Is this Coldo? As he, I think this is his 1st post that hasn't mentioned 2 up top.

21 Apr 2026 18:24:38
J7st reading more on the Tav contract we have an unreliable Sterling and Aarons will be away so would offering him a 1 tear deal as backup not be more beneficial for the club? Look at Aarons we thought he'd be a player but it hasn't worked out so any signing is a gamble

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2026 18:55:46
No thanks, if we sign a new right back, which should be 100% a priority, then we can manage Sterling's minutes. No point then paying big money to have Tav sitting on a bench every week. He's got a great legacy and been a terrific servant, but it's time to look to the future.

21 Apr 2026 19:01:19
He should not be offered any new contract whatsoever. He's well past it now and should have been sold 3 years ago.
Great servant with a great record, but he needs to move on to pastures new.

21 Apr 2026 19:11:21
We keep hearing offer Tav reduced terms on new contract. Will he accept reduced terms, plus reduced game time.
He will probably get more at Championship team.

21 Apr 2026 19:19:11
James Tavernier is still the best RB Rangers have. I'll be stunned if Rangers don't offer him a new contract.

Rangers could spend Β£4m on a top rated full-back from Europe and he could turn out to be a complete dud like Yilmaz. We could loan a big money player from England, as we did with Aarons, who turned out to be another dud.

James Tavernier should only leave when we have better in the door.

That won't be easy. Sterling is a good player, but what good is that talent if he's sitting in the stands injured? If Sterling can't get fit, I doubt he'll have a future with us.

The best option, in my opinion, is to keep James Tavernier with a view to signing another RB. That way we go into next season with two players for that position. (I'm not including Sterling giving his injury issues).

21 Apr 2026 19:34:36
Tav is never injured and always makes himself available.

21 Apr 2026 19:46:57
He needs to go, plain and simple, and thank him for the years he has been here.

Rohl With Cheese, him being the best rb, is not a good look for us as a team, as we have failed to get a right back in.

Arrons was a gamble, said at the time, and it didn't work.

21 Apr 2026 20:10:11
Rohl, just look at the impact Rommens has had. We should be aiming to bring in someone like him for the right. His time is up.

21 Apr 2026 20:13:49
Yilmaz was not a bad player, he just couldn't handle the physical side of our game and was always injured.

In no way, shape or form should Tav be here next year, he is well past it. Great servant, but he hasn't won enough and I for one am sick of his "we will learn from this" post match bs.

Plus, let's be honest, I don't want his influence still being exerted over the squad, I'd rather we move forward with a new captain for our new regime.

21 Apr 2026 20:47:56
Every single signing is a gamble, Storm. Hence the importance of keeping a hold of James Tavernier until we have better in the door - which won't be easy.

Also, I'd just like to point out to BlueJim that the Yilmaz signing was a complete disaster. Rangers lost out financially, and the player himself sat in the stands for years before going home.

You say he was "always injured". Do you know who is never injured and puts in the highest amount of outfield appearances almost every year? James Tavernier. What an asset that is.

21 Apr 2026 21:18:33
If we can win the title this year, Tav will lift it. Then off he goes with all our best wishes. Please don't be speaking extra year contracts.

21 Apr 2026 21:57:35
Tavernier should have been replaced with a permanent transfer last summer. We can't rely on Sterling. I only hope we can now, but we can't be dependent on him. Sign a rb for the first team, and Sterling can play anywhere in defence.

I wanted Tavernier out a while ago, but on a big reduction on wages maybe 10k 12k max, give him another year. He's not happy with that salary, fair enough he can move on. Yes, he is getting on, but he still has our best goal contributions this season.

21 Apr 2026 23:28:02
I'll never understand why we haven't tried him at rw with Sterling behind him. Or even at right cm of a 3.

22 Apr 2026 01:01:36
Although he has had his critics and I've been one of them recently, I don't think many would argue that he hasn't been a great servant in the majority of the time he has been with us, especially for the fee paid.

However, even when we have had truly great players in the past, when it is time for them to move on, then we have to accept no player is bigger than the club.

I genuinely trust that Danny Rohl and our current scouting network could find another gem to fill the RB slot who is equally as good as Rommens with Sterling as a more than decent back up, fitness issues notwithstanding.

22 Apr 2026 01:16:40
I don't think the fans can argue either way. If he stays as back up and experience, it's not a bad thing.
If he goes, it's a sign of moving forward as a club.

I'd keep him, but wouldn't be sad if he left.

I do wonder how his testimonial would turn out in terms of attendance, btw, I hope it wasn't a bad one for him.

Maybe give tickets to season tickets cheap.

22 Apr 2026 06:02:16
I'm surprised there's been no word by now regarding a testimonial for Tav Stevie G. 😲 He's almost completed 11 seasons at Rangers. πŸ€” It always used to be 10 years service and the player received a testimonial. This must have changed. πŸ€”

22 Apr 2026 07:31:29
How was Yilmaz a dud, explain. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

22 Apr 2026 09:13:40
A testimonial for Tav. He been overpaid for quite a while now, yea scored a lot of goals, penalies, free kicks, but he has probably cost as many he scored. Time to leave, please just leave.

22 Apr 2026 09:16:48
Sterling shouldn't be kept as a back up. He is on a fortune. He was brought in as a replacement for Tav and couldn't stay fit. If he is unreliable then why just keep him as back up.

22 Apr 2026 10:59:08
Rohl with cheese, that is not the reason to keep Tav. Just because every signing is a gamble, things like that are what makes clubs stand still. It's utter tosh, mate. He is away now anyway, and the correct decision by the club. His legs went 2 seasons ago.

22 Apr 2026 11:00:46
Stevie, we have tried him at right wing and he was like a fish out of water. He isn't good enough to play right wing or right mid, that's why he hasn't played in either much.

22 Apr 2026 11:43:12
Stevie yes that's worth trying, the RB shift is too much.

22 Apr 2026 14:15:58
Storm, I don't remember him ever playing rw mate.

Other than maybe 5 mins to try win a goal at the end of games.
