04 Jun 2026 21:39:14
Received a wee teaser email from Rangers 8a.m tomoro. π

Oops. π³π€£
04 Jun 2026 21:50:57
So it's on for tomorrow right enough. π
04 Jun 2026 22:35:22
See the kit looks more like a training top.
04 Jun 2026 22:39:24
The more I see it, the worse it gets. Worst top in years imo. Hopefully the home is better.
05 Jun 2026 06:19:55
I haven't seen this away jersey you're talking about, Peterpanloyal, but the new Rangers home jersey I've seen with the white thin pinstripes is a cracker imo. ππ€π¬π§
05 Jun 2026 08:04:50
I've now seen the away jersey, and I honestly quite like it. π Not a lot to the design, but it's a nice plain, clean design for me, and you can't go wrong with a white jersey. π I prefer our new home jersey, as I think it's an absolute belter, but I do quite like this white away jersey. π π¬π§
05 Jun 2026 09:34:19
Just saw the white kit, and I know a lot don't like it, but for me it's a cracker.
04 Jun 2026 19:26:48
I thought Dan Neil was well down list of targets does that mean we've missed out on some sig ificant ones?

04 Jun 2026 20:19:05
I would say do, definitely Silas Anderson for sure. Depends if we are banking on Neil as a 6 or box to box 8. We are likely to need to replace Raskin and Diomande, possibly Barron. I'm hoping we sign Watt.
04 Jun 2026 20:53:48
Goram, yes we have missed 3/4 so far.
04 Jun 2026 21:57:18
Missing Champions League will have taken a big hit on targets, sadly.
05 Jun 2026 06:02:51
The consequences of a failed league campaign.
05 Jun 2026 06:23:01
John, who do you reckon are the 3 or 4 players we've missed out on, mate? π€ I was always led to believe that Dan Neil, since the January transfer window, was always one of Danny Rohl's/Dan Purdy's preferred midfield options, mate. π€
05 Jun 2026 07:13:55
Tell u at end of window as said before Neil was not a target, Dahl and Doehki were top two.
05 Jun 2026 08:31:02
Why was Niel at our training base in January? Why has he been at games? Why would Doehki be replacing a cm? Think this says he was a target, John.
05 Jun 2026 09:33:46
I think if we sell Raskin or Diomande, we might move for a bigger money type player at cm.
05 Jun 2026 15:38:03
See if every year we miss out on top targets and end up with 4th and 5th choice signings. Is it really surprising we are constantly rebuilding?
04 Jun 2026 18:36:43
Hi lads/lassies. don't know if people will remember but I mentioned I was getting an eye operation for pterygium, I had the op this morning, home now, a lot of people said once I got the anaesthetic I wouldn't feel a thing, and you were all absolutely correct. its now that it's a bit sore, but the surgeon said it would be like broken glass in my eye for next week or so (he's not wrong) was just coming on to say thanks to everyone who put my mind at ease regarding the operation as I was totally bricking it until I came on here to seek advice.
onto the recovery now, patched up eye for a wee while, month off work (plenty World Cup matches to keep me occupied). thanks again people π.

Good stuff. Sun glasses indoors helps re bright ligtsv56.
04 Jun 2026 19:17:36
Good to hear your op is done and you're on the mend. Probably easier to watch Scotland with one eye covered. I usually do it behind spread fingers. Hope you don't mind the wee bit of humour.
04 Jun 2026 19:42:34
Glad to hear you're ok and back home, Goingfor56. Onwards and forwards!
04 Jun 2026 20:06:55
Gd stuff, 56, hope alls well bud. π
04 Jun 2026 20:15:20
Cheers guys, and no, not at all JFM, welcome the humour. π
04 Jun 2026 20:15:30
Goingfor56, wish you a speedy recovery.
04 Jun 2026 20:22:00
Glad to hear you are back on the mend and it didn't turn out to be as bad as you thought.
JFM, he definitely has an eye on you (sorry GF56). I did have another joke but it wasn't a patch on this one. I'm here all week. π
04 Jun 2026 20:26:56
Excellent Goingfor56.
04 Jun 2026 20:55:53
While you are visually impaired briefly, you can see what it must be like for Collum and Beaton lol
04 Jun 2026 21:58:08
Glad it went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

04 Jun 2026 22:51:58
Good news 56! From my own recent surgical experience, the benefits far outweigh the worry. I'm so glad you are on the road to recovery.
05 Jun 2026 05:24:32
Hope you make a speedy recovery, bud, and just be thankful we had no more Rangers games to watch, or that might've buggered the other one, lol
Anyways, as John stated, sunglasses inside, and let's hope Scotland give us more than 3 games.
05 Jun 2026 09:42:44
Going for, take advantage of your recuperation. Maybe just maybe you might just fancy the missus again. Well, at least until you get the patch off lol.
05 Jun 2026 11:29:44
Goingfor56, speedy recovery. π¦πΊπ¬π§
05 Jun 2026 12:38:07
Great stuff, Going for.
Hopefully a quick recovery mate. π
05 Jun 2026 16:09:35
Great news that it all went well, Going. Everybody naturally gets very fearful when it's anything to do with their eyes.
All the best for your recovery, bud. Enjoy you wee enforced break.
05 Jun 2026 16:46:49
Cheers for all the best wishes etc, guys, much appreciated. Recover now, then get set to get the left eye done at start of next year. π

Just a quick question for EHL or anyone else with knowledge on this topic
You discussed Findlay Curtis being developed into a more central role (also a deeper role if I'm not mistaken) and that it was advised he get experience outwide to aid in his development. This is of course not unusual to my understanding, similar has happened with Myles Lewis-SKelly at Arsenal and Foden at Man City (with Pep also indicating he wanted to get him into a more CM role than CAM).
My main question is what differentiates these players from those who immediately see first team minutes in their intended position, like a Lennon Miller, Gavi, pedri etc. how do some players step right into their 'true position' and others don't. Also what differentiates players being developed out wide and then coming central to career wide players.
Hopefully that question makes sense and any insight is much appreciated.

Great question and one that sits right at the heart of player development philosophy versus profile-driven pathwaying.
At a high level, whether a young player begins in a wider, more creative position before progressing centrally, or is integrated centrally from the outset, is typically shaped by a blend of development philosophy, individual attributes, and system needs.
Players who start wide often exhibit strong dribbling ability, flair, 1v1 creativity, and natural attacking instincts. These qualities provide an excellent foundation for progression into more central roles over time, particularly as No.10s or advanced midfielders, once their tactical awareness and decision-making mature.
In contrast, players who are placed centrally early tend to demonstrate high levels of scanning, positional discipline, and composure under pressure. They are usually more comfortable operating "around the ball", linking play and managing tempo, rather than simply playing "on it" in isolated moments.
One factor that is often overlooked is physical development, particularly the impact of biological maturity in youth football. Early developers, who may have a physical advantage in duels and contact situations, are often trusted in central roles earlier.
Meanwhile, late developers are more frequently positioned in wider or higher areas, where there is generally less immediate physical pressure.
This is a really interesting aspect of player development, and one I'm particularly passionate about. The examples of Pedri and Gavi are great ones. Both developed within the Spanish system, where bio-banding approaches are more commonly used, as opposed to the age-banded structures typically seen in Scotland. This allows players to develop their technical and cognitive qualities without becoming overly reliant on physical advantages, which can have a significant long-term impact on their progression.
Hope that answers it.
04 Jun 2026 18:03:58
Brilliant question, Dio, same for the answer, EHL. ππ
04 Jun 2026 18:23:21
Bravo guys! Interesting reading, what the page should be more about. π
04 Jun 2026 18:58:51
Cheers, EHL! Very informative.
I always find these kinds of things very intriguing.
If I may also ask (if you have knowledge of this). Of our current crop of youngsters coming through e.g. (McCallion, Glasgow, Lawson, Smith, Scally). Which do you feel will be developed in their natural positions and which do you feel will be moved elsewhere (like Curtis)?
04 Jun 2026 19:18:05
Dio,
Scally, I think, has a chance at left back.
Dawson, I think, has a chance as a striker.
The others, I'm not sure, will make a dent in the first team.
04 Jun 2026 21:09:28
Interesting, EHL.
Do you reckon that's based off of the player's potential or the player pathway?
I really liked Lawson, Scally, and McCallion in their short debuts.
04 Jun 2026 21:49:26
Absolutely bang on the money EHL and explained perfectly ππ»
04 Jun 2026 22:15:24
Glasgow and Owen I think will and like the look of how Rankin is developing.

Last time steel was held up by something in the Middle East. Is this going to be the same?
04 Jun 2026 18:42:51
I think buying a couple pots off paint will be easy, ba had plenty the other day.
04 Jun 2026 20:14:44
Unfortunately. Not all the work needed at Ibrox and the training ground is glamorous. The Main Stand works are required for reasons beyond appearances, and the Copland balustrades are a legacy item from the cantilever project. There are also other works being carried out that weren't mentioned in the statement.
There is some painting and general freshening up going on as well, but it's across a range of areas that need improvement, not just the hospitality spaces. I also wouldn't really describe most of it as refurbishment work - it's largely routine maintenance, upkeep and addressing items that need attention.
04 Jun 2026 14:53:02
I've not exactly been following Raskin for Belgium, does anyone think he'll be a starter, or is there players before him. Him having a good world cup could really benefit us. I don't think he'll be short of suitors, but a really good world cup could bring a bit of a bidding between clubs.

04 Jun 2026 15:20:08
I think he's a starter for Belgium BB4. He has established himself in their midfield. Good luck to him, it increases his value the better Belgium do.
04 Jun 2026 15:24:54
I'm pretty sure he is a regular now, BoyBlue.
Previously it was between him and Axel Witsel, who is now pushing 37 and in the squad.
He started in the recent win against Croatia before being replaced by Witsel after 80 minutes.
So I would expect him to play more than he doesn't.
He seems to fit right into the role expected of him for the National team.
A good WC, like you say, and I expect plenty to be after him.
I like him. And I would have built the team around him a couple of years ago, but feel the Rangers midfield is needing a freshen up and overhaul.
04 Jun 2026 15:44:21
He played 80 minutes for Croatia the other night, so it's a fair guess he'll start.
04 Jun 2026 15:51:41
Yes, Raskin, it's a starter. Has taken Witsel's place.
04 Jun 2026 16:05:54
Cheers lads. Mph, I like him as well, but feel he's gone a bit stagnant at Rangers, either that, or he maybe needs better around him. If he's playing 80 mins v Croatia he's definitely a starter.
04 Jun 2026 16:24:25
Him, Tielemans and Kdb, I think. π¬π§
04 Jun 2026 16:59:56
Not too shabby, Super Ally. π
04 Jun 2026 17:24:17
He's that good, he played 80 mins for Croatia too, De Boer. π€£π€£

There's always excitement Davie, from my part anyway. Absolutely love all the rumours, going and having a look at potential signings, it's something most enjoy, I would think.
04 Jun 2026 15:26:58
I think we've had our fingers burned that often with some who were going to stroll it that there is always a wee bit of apprehension until they have the scarf above the head and I'll all in.
Miss Aph, posting for all those names he brings to the forum.
04 Jun 2026 15:27:48
Boy Blue, excited also. First time since 2012, I think we have everything to succeed on and off the park. I know 55, but think if transfers are correct we could go on and do really well domestically and in Europe.
04 Jun 2026 16:09:22
I agree, things off the park look to be improving, but we have a lot of changes to make, that's the problem, unfortunately. We need 5 defenders just to fill the holes from last year, before we even get to replacing those who are not cutting it.
04 Jun 2026 17:03:22
Love Euro nights, Davie. Also really important to the club financially, but we really need a title, mate. Yeah, much more stable for first time in a long time.
