Just had a stroll around The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, close to 100 degrees today. Still haunted by that final in 2022. So close. Maybe 1 day 🔴⚪️💙

Still haven't been able to watch it back, mate, but regardless, what an experience it was.
09 Jun 2026 16:51:37
Me either, Will. Went to watch it a couple of times, but just cant.
09 Jun 2026 17:06:06
I'm the same. Just couldn't stomach it.
09 Jun 2026 17:34:22
It didn't happen as far as I'm concerned.
09 Jun 2026 17:52:32
Me neither. Deleted recording few weeks back, Still have flashbacks to this day of what could have been.
09 Jun 2026 19:01:16
Think their goal could have been avoided and the chance for Kent gives me nightmares.
09 Jun 2026 19:57:59
Agree, Gents, 3rd time lucky! Just got to do the hard part, and reach a final. Seville is a fantastic city. Redders, thou. Looking forward to getting home to my dogs and a week lazing about the house. It's to be 25/26 next week in Essex, and that's bearable for me. Any hotter and I'd rather sit in the shade.
09 Jun 2026 14:47:11
So who all would be happy to see bron used as a make weight for Ferguson.

09 Jun 2026 15:32:54
I don't see Barron as a long term starter, but love his attitude as it's what we need throughout the squad. I'm one who said we should have had Ferguson at the 2/3m stage of his career.
I'm unsure (due to lack of watching him) how good he really is? He doesn't stand out to me whenever he's been in a Scotland shirt, etc.
From the leadership standpoint he's the perfect signing.
09 Jun 2026 15:36:53
What's Ferguson like after his knee injury? Are Neil and Charles good enough? Don't know too much about them?
09 Jun 2026 16:09:58
I wouldn't be against it, John, if it made sense financially, ie not just giving Barron away for pennies to make it happen, as long as he had genuine value in the deal.
His association place in squad for homegrown will be filled by new arrivals.
We need club homegrown players in. Would like McCrorie or Patterson next.
Encouraging to see possible deals getting done prior to preseason. I think next week will be the busy week, window opens Monday and Gers back in training on the Friday.
09 Jun 2026 16:19:03
John, I wouldn't be opposed to this, if the fee in addition to Barron is reasonable. Barron is a good squad player, but we need better in our first 11 imho. Given the number of games we play in a season, he could still get plenty of game time, but I don't see him as a starter in the big games.
Anytime I saw Ferguson play last season, he never really stood out, but he does a lot of the dirty work, and he's meant to be a good figure in the dressing room, and a potential captain, so could be a good deal.
09 Jun 2026 16:36:13
I'm not overly fussed about Lewis Ferguson.
09 Jun 2026 16:42:56
I'm not overly fussed about Barron or Ferguson.
09 Jun 2026 16:50:26
If what you say is true about Ferguson, Der Hammer, that he's only good for dirty work & good vibes, then in no way should be spending 10 million plus Barron (Barron already does the dirty work).
If Bologna are happy for him to leave & take Barron, is Ferguson what everyone thinks he is?
09 Jun 2026 17:06:54
I'd definitely be keeping Barron.
09 Jun 2026 17:18:45
I really like Barron, but if it gets us Ferguson, then that's a massive upgrade.
09 Jun 2026 17:55:41
Like a few I'm not overly excited by this. I quite like Barron. I think there's a lot he can develop with the right coaching etc.
Haven't seen too much of Ferguson, mostly when he's played for Scotland. More about his desire, hunger and connection to the club. Price has to be right.
09 Jun 2026 18:25:58
It really depends on what valuation is put on Barron as the makeweight.
If it's only EUR5m I'd rather give them the money and keep him. I think he's going to be a right good player.
If it's the deal maker, then I'd reluctantly do it, yea.
09 Jun 2026 19:18:36
Wouldn't be against it, John, to be honest, as I think Ferguson potentially offers more to the team.
Connor has never let us down, but just don't think he will be a first team regular. Also, as has previously been mentioned on here, he does have a desire to play in Italy.
Having lived in Italy for quite some time, I think he would be suited to Serie A.
Only concern I have is why are Bologna looking to offload Ferguson, who was their player of the season prior to his injury. Also, none of the reported Italian teams who were chasing him are now showing any interest, maybe an injury concern, but that's just speculation on my list.
09 Jun 2026 13:31:11
Not Rangers related, however as a huge fan of Italian football, thought I'd drop a note on some exceptionally talented footballers to look out for at the World Cup.
Obvious 2 are
Kenan Yildiz (Juventus, Turkey, 21):Creative attacker who is who is an absolute joy to watch
Nico Paz (Como, Argentina, 21): Modern attacking midfielder who is my favourite player to watch at the moment
Others to keep an eye on;
Ange‑Yoan Bonny (Inter, Ivory Coast, 22): Powerful forward with strong hold‑up play
Anass Salah‑Eddine Diao (Como, Senegal, 20): Has the potential to be the complete midfielder - which is unusual nowadays
Luka Sučić (Inter, Croatia, 22): Technically gifted deep-lying midfielder capable of controlling tempo - has been compared to Modric.
Koni De Winter (Milan, Belgium, 21): An all action defender, reminds me a lot of Bassey.

You've done your homework there, Ehl, A++.
Will be sure to look out for them, mate.
{Ed001's Note - Chelsea are desperately trying to sign Paz.}
09 Jun 2026 13:55:24
Hi Ehl.
I know Italy never qualified, but is it true their youth system has gone to pot?
My eldest said the top teams are struggling to bring any young Italian talent through.
And what are the reasons, in your opinion?
09 Jun 2026 13:57:18
He's a joy to watch, and certainly a talented lad. I think if he goes to Chelsea, he will probably ruin himself. Sadly, Chelsea seems like a very toxic club.
09 Jun 2026 13:57:42
Yildiz is a cracking player and deserves a move away from Juve imo.
Paz will be Madrid or Barcelona bound soon as this lad is special.
Bony needs to move from Inter imo as feel he is being stunted as he could be one hell of a striker.
Can't say much on the others as not seen them play much.
09 Jun 2026 13:58:29
Sucic is an outstanding player, as is Paz. Paz was bought for 6 million euros! Unbelievable!
Sucic and Paz on their current trajectory will be household names globally. Serie A is fantastic, fond of it myself. Not long finished the book, Calcio, by John Foot. So many Italian clubs founded by Brits.
09 Jun 2026 14:11:19
Real Madrid have first refusal to buy Paz back and apparently Mourinho has told them to bring him back now as he's a big part of his plans.
09 Jun 2026 14:32:48
Yildiz is exceptional. For the money Chelsea spent on Gittens and Garnacho it's beggars belief why they didn't just sign him instead.
09 Jun 2026 14:38:10
Chelsea have become specialists in blowing money on garbage. I think the tide has turned there now. I think Alonso will do a job there.
09 Jun 2026 14:45:35
Italian specialists from club media explaiayes blame the influx of players who hampered development of their youth.
09 Jun 2026 15:01:18
I hope Real activate Paz buyback clause, with him, Guler, Endrick, Huijsen, etc., they've got a spine for many years to come if nurtured correctly.
09 Jun 2026 15:11:06
Ger88 apparently Huijsen surplus to requirements.
Mastantuono will be loaned out too.
09 Jun 2026 16:44:13
Aue, I read Mastantuono will be loaned for game time. Never knew about Huijsen, just read that Raul Ascensio could leave. I wouldn't be letting both those young cbs go. With Alaba away and Militaos injury record, signing Konate on a free makes sense.
09 Jun 2026 18:27:32
Ger88, it's all just hearsay really atm isn't it.
Mourinho likes to have top defenders so will likely want 2 new cb's that, along with Olise, he's going to need to sell some players to finance his spree which is always very high on n cost.
08 Jun 2026 21:12:22
That time of year again when you're watching videos of linked players, French wingers, ex Sunderland players, Swedish defenders. Wonder how many will actually be signed.

I've gone a stage farther to kill the boredom. Looking through the OOC players on Transfermkt, and knowing Rohl will know the German scene pretty well. Looking at the stats of Filip Bilbija, 26 yr old AM, who played a huge part in Paderborn's promotion, also scoring against Wolfsburg in the play off.
17 goals last season from midfield, even in Bundesliga 2, is not to be sniffed at.
09 Jun 2026 14:19:33
Fabregas has done an outstanding job with Paz over the last couple of years. As Iron says, remarkable value for the fee.

His funfair is next monkey.
I'll get my coat.

People who use predictive text are aunts.
Get my coat while you're there, Lincoln.
09 Jun 2026 10:33:40
Athole, I got a birthday cake done for an elderly aunt and it didn't look quite as expected, but I got a slice done quickly.

I'm watching to get a look at the NI keeper. He looks really comfortable starting attacks with his feet.
08 Jun 2026 21:34:47
France have some squad, but great assist by Shea Charles to Kelly.
09 Jun 2026 13:08:52
I've thought for a while NI had some decent young players. Liked the look of Spencer at right back, who I thought was on loan at Motherwell a couple of seasons ago (could be wrong though), and Shea Charles looks a real talent. Not sure about the keeper though, yeah, some of his passes were good, but he did play some really poor ones as well as all keepers do, but he just does not look like an imposing keeper.
He's young and he'll fill out a bit, but I would be worried if he were our first choice keeper next season. The whole team's attitude and work rate were top class.
08 Jun 2026 18:18:41
We all know how important and an honour it is to be the captain of Glasgow Rangers 👌So for a gauge on here to who we'd possibly want as our new captain i'd like to ask the ED to run a poll on this subject for me 🤔 Imagine we did definitely sign lewis Ferguson and dan neil my poll would be ie."Who would you prefer to be the new Rangers captain", lewis Ferguson, lawrence shankland, dan neil or another 🤔As always ED, very much obliged 👍cheers mate 👍

Not sure someone like Neil should be in the leadership group, never mind captain.
Don't know what he's done in his career to gain the respect of a new dressing room?
Reminds me of Dowell being in the last group.
08 Jun 2026 19:53:13
I don't like strikers as captain. So if we do sign Ferguson I would have him but I don't think we will sign him.
Neil was captain of Sunderland, I think the year they came up from Championship mph, but I don't think he should be captain either.
08 Jun 2026 20:01:30
MPH, would you not say captaining a team when you're 22/23 years old and gaining promotion to the Premier League is quite impressive for a young player? Does that not demonstrate leadership qualities? Would I have him as captain? Probably not, but it can't hurt to have leaders in the leadership group, surely?
08 Jun 2026 20:03:08
Rommens. 👍
08 Jun 2026 20:05:38
We are not getting Ferguson, so seems pointless, and doubt very much it will be either of the other 2, so has to be another.
08 Jun 2026 20:17:21
Tav, captain from League One.
08 Jun 2026 20:19:31
U part of the recruitment team, Slim Jim.
08 Jun 2026 20:21:06
Slim, not sure if you answered before.
What makes you think we're definitely not getting Ferguson?
I know you've been constant in your opinion he won't be coming?
08 Jun 2026 20:43:40
My point being, Tav123.
That if I lol at him in the leadership group, he present inspire me.
Now if he was good enough to have stayed captain and played in the EPL I dread of being loaned to a Championship club then he could see that point of view.
Just my opinion on him.
08 Jun 2026 21:21:16
Rommens has all the qualities to be a Rangers captain, and if not, Shankland must surely be under consideration, but it will become clearer when we know who is staying at Rangers.
08 Jun 2026 21:47:22
Stig, a person I played with many moons ago and we still chat, is very friendly with his agent, and although there is nothing on where he might go, it is not to Scotland at this time.
08 Jun 2026 23:09:46
Mph, Rangers are never getting 24 years old cm's that can't play in the EPL. Really don't know what kinda players you must be wanting, because that will never happen, and hadn't happened for decades.
09 Jun 2026 05:42:48
I don't believe for one minute Lewis Ferguson will come here so he won't be getting my vote on this one.
09 Jun 2026 08:22:26
It has to be the one who will play the most games with the least injuries.
09 Jun 2026 08:54:10
Be better having a poll. When we know who our players are!.🙈
09 Jun 2026 09:47:01
Bluebalou - imo needs to be the one with the best leadership skills. 🤔👍
09 Jun 2026 10:13:04
We've got some wanting a 24-year-old signed that is currently playing in the EPL, when we've got players signing for us, hoping one day they can eventually play in the best league in the World.
Thinking we'll sign a 24-year-old that is currently playing in the EPL, is right up there, something that has never happened since the 1980's.
09 Jun 2026 10:24:16
We currently have a 26 year old playing for one of the top International teams and will leave to play in one of the top 5 leagues.
We are keen on a 27 year old who plays for one of the top Italian sides.
So not sure what point you are trying to make in correlation to a 24 year old Championship player, MyStar.
09 Jun 2026 10:38:23
Think we missed Lewis when he was at the Accies or mibbees when he was actually at Rangers as a youth, but he's not coming back any time soon.
09 Jun 2026 13:53:23
Looks like the Forum agrees with me - 4% for Dan Neil. 😎
09 Jun 2026 14:04:29
Strange though, they have voted for someone that we have no idea if we're even in for.
09 Jun 2026 15:01:17
