Daily star reporting Gerrard has agreed and McAllister no2.

1.) 02 May 2018 00:27:18
Would love Mcallister as no. 2. Great football brain.

25 Apr 2018 15:48:01
I see oddschecker have removed the page for 'Next Permanent Rangers manager', does this mean some people know very well that its done?

1.) 25 Apr 2018 16:35:50
Strikes me that with all the transfer targets being leaked to the media the new manager must have been appointed as he must be approving them. We just have to wait for the announcement.

2.) 25 Apr 2018 17:20:14
@tom vallance firstly its not a manager we are after, the DoF dictates that therefore any signings now and in the future will be on the authority of mark allen.

secondly mark allen is the reason we are signing these guys now regardless of who our new HEAD COACH will be.

genuinely wish people on here would acknowledge and understand the way the club is being ran now

3.) 25 Apr 2018 17:36:37
Its all being leaked for one reason only = season ticket sales!

4.) 25 Apr 2018 17:49:14
Future signings won't be on the authority of mark allan. rabc10000
He stated when he took the job that the final decisions on signings will be decided by the manager. Mark allen will identify targets and put them forward to the manager, who will then decide if he wants them or not.

5.) 25 Apr 2018 17:55:03
Betting back up for next manager with some firms. The betting now show Neil Warnock now joint favourite with some firms.

6.) 25 Apr 2018 18:28:47
Spot on Honda am quiet sure there is a manager in place and not announced to give murty some respect till the end of the season what a don't agree with is rangers don't tell there paying fans what's the plans of the club 4 weeks till first payment and if fans don't get any news on the situation by then well that will be utterly out of order buy Dave king that's just the same as paying for your shopping at Asda before seeing what is on the shelfs

7.) 25 Apr 2018 18:45:47
exactly honda

people on here bit confused about DoF role

he does not ‘dictate’ anything and decisions aren’t made solely on his ’authority’

his remit is to identify signings for board and head coach who are resp for making final decision

as for head coach himself, DoF will deliver a list of suitable candidates and board will decide.

8.) 25 Apr 2018 19:10:10
Trevor no7 as u posted that's exactly what I was meaning and more so with your last paragraph, the new head coach ultimately will have a say who he signs providing it's a name off a list. Pretty sure that's why a lot of British based managers rarely work abroad as they are not used to working under a DoF where they ultimately don't really have the final say

9.) 25 Apr 2018 20:06:53
“They ultimately will have a say” but “they ultimately don’t really have the final say” sounds like the opposite of what Trev said! As Trev says I think some people are confused.

10.) 25 Apr 2018 20:10:13
skyhi bet still showing SG at 1/ 2 with NW as 2nd fav at 13/ 8

11.) 25 Apr 2018 21:04:35
A lot of criticism about the appointment of Steven Gerrard possibly becoming Rangers manager because of inexperience at management! Got to laugh Graham Souness didn't have much experience in management and he didn’t do to badly at Rangers. Gerrard is a massive name in world football and I’m sure W would attract a lot of quality players to Rangers which for a start can only be a good thing👍🏼👍🏼🇬🇧

12.) 25 Apr 2018 21:39:37
Gerrard may be able to attract players but they still want to be paid and Rangers can't afford big wages. Gerrard is never coming to Rangers in the first place and do Rangers want to risk an unproven manager? don't think so

13.) 25 Apr 2018 21:42:13
28/ 1 get on Padrew people!

14.) 25 Apr 2018 23:05:58
Johnnymac at the last count, Stevie G was worth an estimated £60m personally with companies he owns worth another £30m. I don't think somehow that money would be an issue if we were giving him a platform for a few years to prove he's ready for the Liverpool job - a bit like Souness, actually, who was also an unproven manager. As was Walter. As was Struth. As was Wilton and even Greig. It's not always experience that's important, it's more often the calibre of the man, as we have proved often in our illustrious history.

15.) 25 Apr 2018 23:42:22
There a few Differences between Souness and Gerrard appointments- we had money back then, Souness was naturally always going to be a manager, he wasn’t in the worst period of rangers history where every year seems to have further disappointment and more unknown answers and embarrassment. Gerrard would be an awful appointment, management just isn’t the same anymore

16.) 25 Apr 2018 23:59:07
Hondaintegra, correct.

17.) 26 Apr 2018 12:03:51
So we’ve got Mark Allen to thank for bringing that rat McGregor back?

18.) 26 Apr 2018 14:45:48
Well said Burnbank. Same people on here who don't want gerrard want arteta.
Mcgregor also improves our team, if we don't improve we won't win league

19.) 26 Apr 2018 16:31:26
How long will it take for the Rangers board to learn from past mistakes. We first had Paul Le Guen, then Pedro. How many more mistakes. Steven Gerrard was a great Player, but has not managed a football team. How many of the Board have ever played football. Playing for a team and managing a team are two very different things. Rangers could end up the laughing stock of Scottish football.

20.) 26 Apr 2018 20:41:20
Any managers a gamble. Players are the bigger signing this summer. Put Pep into our team as manager and we are still average. Put better players in under murty and we get better so. Gerrard brings game knowledge and great attitude. i'd welcome it if he can bring in a few good players or at least influence the DoF's signings

04 Jan 2018 17:31:32
Dodoo recalled from Charlton according to Evening Times

1.) 05 Jan 2018 01:06:19
He's been recalled because he isn't playing much, same as Halliday. No poing in loaning a player to sit on the bench

07 Jun 2017 16:02:41
Does anyone happen to have any rumours regarding who has been told to leave?

1.) 07 Jun 2017 17:03:06
Not a rumour but i would assume Kiernan, Crooks, Windass, Halliday, Garner, Waghorn, Forrester, McKay, O'Halloran and one of the right backs will be away if anyone will take them.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 17:13:30
i would be disappointed if Baz left. i think pedro could raise his game and he will be a much better player surrounded by a better quality squad. Crooks was never given a chance so i suspect the manager might want to have a look at him over pre-season. Agree with the rest.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 17:38:36
I agree with you TheJerseyLoyal. I think Barrie could be a really useful player. He is a young player and as everyone is saying on here, he was playing in a club full of duds last year. These new signings coming in could make him raise his game. Everyone should get off the kids back!

4.) 07 Jun 2017 18:47:48
hodson, waghorn, forrester, keirnan, crooks, halliday, o'hallaran.
Mackay up in the air waiting to see how he works in the summer and what replacements will come

5.) 07 Jun 2017 20:29:01
What about joe dogdoo he is terrible has to leave surly

22 Apr 2017 14:35:57

17 Jul 2016 13:59:40
Anyone notice how Kiernan was at fault for every Motherwell chance in the first half? Always two yards behind his man.

1.) 17 Jul 2016 14:14:20
Much prefer Wilson to Kiernan, I just don't rate Kiernan at all. Wilson I still think could actually be our best defender, with the right partner beside him. His tackling and passing has a bit class about them, he just needs somebody who can read the game in beside him to keep him right because technically there's not much better than him in Scottish Football. I know I'll get slated for saying that, but it is my opinion. And Liverpool don't pay £2m for a 17 year old for nothing.

2.) 17 Jul 2016 14:35:34
nope taverner was at fault a lot more.

3.) 17 Jul 2016 15:00:27
I thought Tav defended well yday to be fair. I would rather have attacking FB's who ship the odd goal anyway. Better to watch and they create more than lose. No way Tav cost us 15+ last season. It's essential to the passing game we play, when the bus has been parked like yesterday and all of last season Tav and Wallace were the extra bit of quality in attack that won us so many games imo.

4.) 17 Jul 2016 15:40:35
There was little cover in midfield, Halliday ran about like a blindman and the sooner Barton and Rossiter are in the team the better.

5.) 17 Jul 2016 16:09:53
Tom42 the blind man that cleared from the line early on? the blind man as you call him could be the blind man that saved us from defeat, imagine he never cleared the goal line, totally different scoreline for sure.

6.) 17 Jul 2016 17:48:43
Part him and part bad tactics. Lost count of how many times I heard commentator say "bad defending from rangers".

Need to tighten up as Motherwell did have good chances from simple crosses and punts up park.

Hopefully that's something that we will work on, along with moving ball bit quicker. But for a first game some thought we would lose, I thought it was a decent start - they could of scored but we could also have got a few more.

7.) 17 Jul 2016 18:57:19
Always been pro Wilson myself. Feel as if people forget he was injured and forced to play at the start of last season and looked it. Looks a lot more solid now and can definitely pass the ball.

8.) 17 Jul 2016 18:58:24
Got the result we needed yesterday so the Warburton bandwagon is back on the road. Early doors but some very familiar patterns to last season; would have benefitted from an out and out striker, the defence kept it interesting right up until Waghorn got the second in the 91st minute and Wes proved to be a good shot stopper but hesitant when the ball is in the air. A bit disappointing to be reliving the shortcomings of last season but lots of positives to consider too. Wag and Tav still got it and combined well, Windass and MOH looked direct and full of pace and menace, good to see Harry back in action, ( not his best performance but some nice touches) and Niko looked pure quality. And look who we still have to bring in. The defence is where we need the most reassurance! It will be interesting to see what Gilks brings to the party and see if we feel any more confident - I certainly expect him to dominate the box and deal with the high/ crossballs better than Wes. As for our much criticised centre backs - in time I am sure Joey will offer better cover and this is bound to help. Clint could prove to be better than both our regulars. I still think Danny Wilson is a footballer, much more so than Keirnan who looks to be the week link based on decision making and technical execution. Hopefully this is an area we will further strengthen. Know I will get peters for this but just for the craic, anyone think Charlie Mulgrew could do a job? I have always rated him; good, solid and reliable, good touch on the ball, good in the air and always seems to be able to raise his game. Would be great to help Brenda make another poor decision. Anyways, can't wait to see who the last few additions will be and then 55, we're coming for you!

9.) 17 Jul 2016 19:00:54
But recbob hits the nail on the head I always felt that Wilson had class about him all forgetting he actually came through our academy as well is he not a childhood rangers fan? and he made us a few million in a transfer as well I don't know why the guy was getting stick I felt the weakness in defence was always right sided and have said so on many occasions (Kiernan and Tav can't play together)

11 May 2016 14:25:45
Stephen Thompson quits the SPFL board in a rage at 'DISPROPORTIONATE PUNISHMENT' haha. Also I hear we're looking at an Indian player called Karma.

1.) 11 May 2016 14:40:21
Haha very good gram!

2.) 11 May 2016 14:45:26
When u look beyond the headlines. They basically got no punishment. They got 3 points deducted which makes no difference as there relegated anyway. And there fine half the amount was suspended. So you wonder what Thompson is moaning about.

3.) 11 May 2016 14:57:21
a 3 point deduction made by the SFA, to a team that is already relegated, just sums the Muppets up! what is actually the point of it! Doc them when it matters not when it totally irrelevant, actually embarrassing.

4.) 11 May 2016 15:16:41
I heard the points are to be deducted next season so they would start on minus 3 points.

5.) 11 May 2016 15:37:18
No this season's total.

6.) 11 May 2016 15:43:55
Have Dundee been docked 3 points?
Could someone shed some light on this matter as I ain't got a clue about anything they have done.

7.) 11 May 2016 15:50:29
Sorry chaps, disregard my previous post as I have just read that the 3 points are deducted now, what a pointless punishment to an already relegated team, sfa numptys again!

8.) 11 May 2016 17:03:46
Utterly pointless deducting a relegated team 3 points as someone said sums up the people who run our game.

9.) 11 May 2016 14:47:03
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy- as ye sow, so shall ye reap!

23 Apr 2016 22:03:18
Don't know if anyone noticed but who was the one alloa player who refused to join the guard of honour and instead warmed up in the line?

1.) 24 Apr 2016 11:20:14
Michael Duffy on loan from Celtic, no surprise there.

2.) 24 Apr 2016 12:29:26
Theirs no rules or procedures that say he has to, it's his prerogative.

3.) 24 Apr 2016 17:25:52
Well at least he'll be able to tell his grandweans how much he made an a##e of himself when he grows up. "let your grandad tell about the time when he stood as part of a guard of honour live on tv and, unlike his team mates who showed professionalism and respect to a better team, chose not applaud just so as all his wee pals at the time would see him as a hero. Sure, they've gone on to win many, many more titles since then and are, according to EUFA, SFA and the Lawlords the same Rangers, your grandad and his wee pals know different".

4.) 24 Apr 2016 17:51:19
@ Hugh Jarse i agree i would be disappointed if rangers players did not have the class to form a guard of honor and congratulate another team. who ever it may be were to be league champions or we shared a final with.

5.) 24 Apr 2016 18:19:51
Pathetic really isn't it, oh well he's found his level, not good enough for Alloa.
Hibs are the same, no class. That's what happens when you get Celtic players on loan, the class just falls right out your Club. Hibs are full of them, that's why the are serial losers😂.

6.) 24 Apr 2016 19:24:56
Rangers players gave hearts a guard of honour last year, that's the class of them.

14 Apr 2016 12:52:09
Can anyone tell me what the travel advice advice is likely to be for sunday? I've never been to Hampden but assuming there will be specific paths you must follow due to segregation? I been waiting for it on the official site but nothing so far.

1.) 14 Apr 2016 13:34:52
Aye gram, if you see a sea of green and white, stay clear and you'll be fine!

2.) 14 Apr 2016 14:26:13
If you plan on getting the train out to hampden from the center then rangers supporters should get of at the mount florida stop.

3.) 14 Apr 2016 20:45:22
Gram avoid Prospecthill Road and Aitkenhead Road and use Cathcart Road from the city centre. Worst place to come from is the Rutherglen area as you are better heading up to Kings Park Avenue. There are great Rangers pubs in Rutherglen but your best bet for a pint after the game would be the 116 or 20 clubs or the bowling clubs, if you are heading that way.

08 Apr 2016 12:36:55
just got my semi-final ticket today but never been to Hampden before - anyone have an opinion on the front row behind the goal? what's the view like?

1.) 08 Apr 2016 13:18:01
you feel like you are far away from the pitch because of the daft running track behind the goals. Mind you If the gers score on the goal your sitting behind it won't be to bad aha!

2.) 08 Apr 2016 13:38:22
The view in the first few rows is very poor- too far away due to running track and angle isn't great, but to be honest I think with the exception of the main stand out its a terrible stadium no matter where you sit.

3.) 08 Apr 2016 15:32:48
well, sounds like I may have drawn a short straw but still will be amazing to be there.

4.) 08 Apr 2016 16:09:03
Hampdem is crap, after the commonwealth games it should have been kept as a running track, when they rebuilt Hamden they killed it for atmosphere, I know it's changed days from the old hampden but they have ruined it, plus the pitch is a joke buts that's a whole new story.

I absolutely agree that gerrard is a huge gamble, but it could be either stupidity or genius. Perhaps our youth will start to flourish in the first team next season with gerrard having come through youth himself and currently doing well with liverpools under 18's

It shocks me the amount of support on this site for a work experience manager to take permanent charge of a situation which clearly needs a top manager. Every performance has been frustrating and difficult to watch and there is no reason at all to think murty will be in charge next season
