We will never compete as a force in world football again. When a mid table championship side's newest signing is worth more than our whole club, no amount of youth development can bring us back to where we once were.

1.) 28 Dec 2017 13:12:27
Things change. 10 years ago - who would have thought we'd be where we are. It'll come back. Cheer up.

2.) 28 Dec 2017 13:11:01
Of course not, but there is a workable model that we can set up and take advantage of. You only need to look at the other side of the city to see it bearing fruit.

3.) 28 Dec 2017 17:56:04
I agree teams will be looking for young british footballers after brexit work permit restrictions. If we can develop them at ibrox and sell them down south could turn a profit

28 Dec 2017 06:06:48
I have just got home from a party with a few ex players that have been home for Xmas and heard it from them that the feeling between them and the majority of ex player is they wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole. We don’t have the money to attract quality British or European player so let’s just forget they days. They are gone. And will never be back so please stop yer carry on on this site. Talkin about how yous have been season ticket holders since it was a shilling a year to watch the bears. one thing dictates football now and it’s not what u all think! It’s entertainment. Not money. That comes as a bi product. The reason rangers are skint is because no one wants to watch us. Scottish football is not a saleable product so we have nothing. So forget the past forget the present and forget the future. That’s all gone. We only exist in Scotland now so just enjoy the game. Enjoy the day out to ibrox. STOP GREETIN AT THE PLAYERS because THE ain't GAZZA COISTY OR LAUDRUP. that time has gone so let’s win what’s in front of us. Not what’s behind us!

1.) 28 Dec 2017 06:44:15
Had a few too many shandys I think

2.) 28 Dec 2017 08:59:22
Go back to the party and have a hair of the dog!

3.) 28 Dec 2017 09:07:59
His core message is sound though

. unfortunately

4.) 28 Dec 2017 09:27:42
The reason we are skint is purely down to the mismanagement of our club from top to bottom. When we got demoted to the third tier is gave us the chance to build a young exciting team instead we persist a policy of signing overrated over the hill has beens with limited technical ability or speed which was reflected in the truest woeful performances we had to endure against lower league opposition and these players we finally exposed once we reached the championship. Yet we still didn’t learn our lessons with alves, Miller new deal, Barton, krankjaer but to name a few who offer rangers no value going forward. Sorry for going on a rant but my father up until recently coached an u17’s premierlegue team for more than 7years and he kept saying to me that rangers don’t put enough emphasis on youth development in homegrown players and their network in general falls way short of other premier clubs.
When was the last time we brought through a descent young talented striker, midfielder (hard working or creative) or a winger etc? This farce will continue until someone comes in who understands the true value of this great club and is prepared to put everything into it. Look across the city yes it’s painful but their strategy is a successful one and not difficult if you recruit the right personnel. Their is young talent out there like John mcginn and Louis moult who we could have got 6-12 months ago for little over £1m and would have offered more quality than anything we currently have and would have been sellable assets for sure.
This dross we are watching will continue until mr king and his pals hand over the reins to someone who is fully committed to getting this great club back to where it should be!

5.) 28 Dec 2017 09:55:42
Sorry but the mismanagement you speak of as we were coming up through the leagues was down to the crooks running us at the time. Young players need experience to help them through games. Since King and co. have been in charge we have made great strides in terms of youth which is now starting to bear fruit with McCrorie Barjo etc. Also Scotland in general hasn't produced much quality for a long while. What superstars has your father produced for us (Scotland)?

6.) 28 Dec 2017 10:01:38
Unfortunately, elements of the doom and gloom post are true, but as Ronnie says, you can create a model that works, even in Scotland.

It starts at the top with vision, then a manager, recruitment and youth development.

We missed a trick years ago to build a youthful team, but it can start at any time.

As a fan, I can forgive some poor results along the way if you can see the bigger picture.

7.) 28 Dec 2017 10:13:39
Bigmarv you’re clearly missing the point!

8.) 28 Dec 2017 10:14:52
its true we are skint that's a fact. but to make matters worse the five years that we were in the wilderness the other mob were guaranteed to win the league and of course get millions from european football while having to spend very little on players as the competition in Scotland was so weak,
The situation we are in now is that they have mega millions in the bank and they only need to buy the odd quality player to add to their squad and that keeps us at arms length. so really unless someone comes along with a very large cheque and buys the club and has the money to attract some quality players the situation will stay the same, sad but true in my opinion

9.) 28 Dec 2017 11:14:17
Not trying to start an argument Ronnie but I don't think I'm missing your point. When in 3rd tier I agree we had a great opportunity to blood youngsters. That failure was down to McCoist and Green etc. When we failed to get out of the championship King's board employed a manager with a youth development background. In less than 3 years we have sold an excellent young prospect to Chelsea we have the 2 first team players I mentioned plus more knocking on the door (Beerman, Bates etc. ) . A young team needs at least half a dozen experienced players to guide them through games or they will win nothing. Barton (spectacularly), Krancjar, and Alves (so far) have been failures but on paper were good signings which personally without the benefit of hindsight I would make again. Miller has been past it for a while but his experience and professionalism have been invaluable for our young players. Which point did I miss?

10.) 28 Dec 2017 13:03:10
you must believe anything anybody tells you because they are expected players doesn't make it true starstruck

11.) 28 Dec 2017 13:04:17
Think you will find we are skint is because we spend more than we take in and have always done that especially in the Murray era. Simple as

Been away for a while bears n bearettes. Just thot I’d drop in and and remind everyone here tomorrow night has been a long time coming but it here. So let’s thank the players and staff for working so hard to bring us back to health. A long road ahead of us yet. That is true but the road travelled has been longer. 💙.

1.) 20 Sep 2018 12:12:32
Didnt need reminded mate.

2.) 20 Sep 2018 12:22:54
welcome back huistra and well said sir and as you can see the dhims are still here lurking in the backround disagreeing with. everything. sad really.

3.) 20 Sep 2018 16:01:48
Score draw me thinks . Going to be tough but nothing to lose . I'd settle for a good performance and narrow defeat, not really used to thinking that but given how far we've come so quickly I'd take it.

09 Mar 2018 19:53:48
Morelos ties up till 2021. Great sign of intent from us. Very impressed. Well done to the teddy bears. Back to the top we go. Like Iv said to all my Celtic supporting friends. It’s swings and roundabouts and our time is comin back again.

1.) 09 Mar 2018 20:23:05
Superb news, our striker fredo morelos has signed a new improved 3 year deal, with rangers! Its a win win for both club and player! For morelos its an improved deal from his 7k a week, to around x3 times that a week! For rangers it gets us more in a transfer fee, when we eventually cash in and sell morelos! Whether its this summer or next, rangers will command and get big money for morelos! let's enjoy 'EL BUFFALO'while he's still here, playing for 'THE FAMOUS'! Make yourself a massive hero fredo, by scoring against 'THEM' on sunday! Brilliant news for us!

04 Mar 2018 10:14:57
Feels great to get upon a Sunday with a cup tie against a lower league team and actually be looking forward to it for once. Anyone feeling the same today? I’m going for 3-0 rangers. I think a clean sheet today is the most important part of a winning score line.

1.) 04 Mar 2018 10:29:54
4-1 with morelos and windass to score

2.) 04 Mar 2018 10:49:35
Don't care what the score is as long as it's a win and no one gets injured

3.) 04 Mar 2018 10:49:49
Would like to see a clean sheet. I'm going for 3-0

4.) 04 Mar 2018 11:19:15
A win will do for me. Think if we play the way we have could be a few. Get cummings starting. He needs game time.

5.) 04 Mar 2018 11:19:46
I’ll go 3-1, Tav, Cummings double!

6.) 04 Mar 2018 11:40:52
Huistra2. Totally agree. Was thinking the same myself, the first time I've not been nervous before a game for a long time, just looking forward to us destroying the opposition. I will accept 1-0 but expect 4-0.Teams may try to nullify Windass or Fredo so would like to see Candias or the Doc get on the score sheet. I said at the very start of the season to win the league the winner normally has a min of 85 goals. That means you need 2 players banging them in (windass/ fredo) and everyone else contributing to achieve that total. that's one of the most important changes that's keeping us near the top that we didn't have before. Unless the Falkirk keeper has grown another set of arms he will be cross eyed by the end of the game with the ball flying past him.

7.) 04 Mar 2018 11:52:19
Defo get Cummings 90 minutes today. he needs a run out. Let's see what he can do either upfront wi fredo or instead of. If they r paired together and do well gives GM another option next weekend. A good win today will set us up nicely. FIRB

8.) 04 Mar 2018 11:55:51
Cummings is big game player and needs to be considered for next week, especially if Murphy isn’t fit!

9.) 04 Mar 2018 12:16:03
Has to start cummings and let him have some game time. Hopefully get his confidence and match pace up before old firm. Would love him to score winner in old firm.

10.) 04 Mar 2018 15:45:36
Fancy 5-0 but any win and no injuries will do me.

11.) 04 Mar 2018 15:47:46
Got to expect a clean sheet today and a comfortable win.

20 Feb 2018 16:05:34
Right fellow bears. With an exciting run in ahead was just wanderin who folk think is our player of the year so far. Prob not alone here but for me it’s got to be tav.

1.) 20 Feb 2018 16:57:40
Tav without doubt best rb in the country by a long way

2.) 20 Feb 2018 17:42:28
Totally in agreement with you guys! Rangers player of the year is james tavernier! Then josh windass second!

3.) 20 Feb 2018 17:55:56
It's between tav and candieas for me.

4.) 20 Feb 2018 17:55:33
Tav or candieas for me both have been excellent this season

5.) 20 Feb 2018 20:00:32
Candy ass for me. Works his socks off. Most assists in league. Has brought tav on due to helping him on right wing with defensive duties. Although tav and windass both been really good.

6.) 20 Feb 2018 20:48:50
Only for injury, young McCrorie was a serious contender.
Canddias promising still.
But Tav has to edge it.

7.) 20 Feb 2018 21:47:21
I'd say tav but candidas has been very good and has helped in bringing tavs game on a lot with his work rate the pair of them down the right are excellent.

8.) 20 Feb 2018 21:48:30
I do remember when the majority of fans used to slate tav tho and say that hodson was better 😂 What a joke that was always used to hate that.

9.) 20 Feb 2018 22:15:10
Tav absolutely no doubt

10.) 20 Feb 2018 22:50:55
Candieas has been class and I love how much it means to him, tav has been class as well but only reason i'm edging to candieas is because I think his game has brought on tavs.

11.) 21 Feb 2018 10:05:06
Morelas clear player of the year followed by Tav

12.) 21 Feb 2018 11:17:11
15goals and 8 assists from midfield by Feb and josh hardly evens get a mention for P.O.T.Y.

that incl big goals away to hibs aberdeen and hearts

i agree with most that tav gets my vote but josh must be in with a shout espesh if he keeps up this scoring streak

cannot understate hie huge sat is chance to get lead down to 6pts and put some pressure on timmy

id bite yer hand off for a scrappy 1-0 right now

13.) 21 Feb 2018 11:32:15
It'd be Morelos for me. His goals and taking passes from our defence (allowing us to move through the lines when midfielders are marked) have completely changed our game for the better.

14.) 21 Feb 2018 12:50:52
Tav or Candieas. However if windass keeps performing as he is he will join them in there

26 Jan 2018 17:45:50
Wilson can jog
Martin and Mcrorie should be our cbs. Remember that’s where Mcrorie came in and shine at first. His understudy is Bates and martins is alves/ Cardoso. Wilson is no loss.

1.) 26 Jan 2018 19:00:38
Alves is Pepe and carvaliho understudy at Portugal not Russel Martins lol

2.) 26 Jan 2018 20:56:43
Martin would walk into the Portugal squad. Lol

Good point mate but he’s injured and will obviously need to work to get fit and back in the team and if Martin is playin well and keeping clean sheets when he does get fit he will be an understudy until such times as he can dislodge Martin or his partner. A return to fitness does not and should not secure him or anyone else an automatic place . so aye. Understudy. 😉

3.) 26 Jan 2018 21:44:17
Martin had a good game against the sheep. Doesn't mean he's Richard Gough. I hope he does well and I think throughout the rest of the season all our players will have to make a contribution

4.) 26 Jan 2018 23:36:29
Am no martins biggest fan just what Av seen with Scotland, but hope he proves me wrong.

Aimlessly following on. Jesus joanie. For one we are all aimlessly following on. That’s why we get our wee thumbs going on this site. I’m just pointing out to our man Neptune that the men behind the science at ibrox are tryin there level best to improve our club. That is a fact. why wouldn’t they. It’s the naivety in some of these posts that made me bite. The folk comin on here sayin the board are sitting with their fingers up the a&#e driving our club into the ground probably couldn’t run a minoj. So I put this to you alyernawsbaws stop the greetin and start living the real world and aimlessly follow on. You might find you’ll actually enjoy it again.

Sheeplike? What in God’s name does that mean. Because I understand how a club in our position in this financial climate works and you can’t get your head around the fact that we can’t throw any more money away because the papers say we should makes me like a sheep. Do you mean docile and a bit fluffy or are you saying I’m an Aberdeen fan. I’m sorry if I don’t get what you mean but I do think you should start worrying less about the board and more about the way you articulate yourself (that means how ye act n that know? ) . Sheeplike. 🤷‍♂️

Poseidon I think you’ve been under water too long.
Why should the club tell the fans the ins and outs of a million pound plus investment as it’s happening. Stop reading the dross spouted by leeches trying to sell papers. They will create a multitude of different scenarios so that tomorrow’s paper sells the same as yesterday’s. The two club have came to a deal that suits both. The only time the public will or should know the details of that buisness transaction is when it’s done. Which is exactly what happened. Your belly is rumbling because you think it should have been done this way or that. But that was fed to you mate. If there was no media input and it came out that he has signed on the terms he has you would say that it was a good bit of buisness handled well. My point. The crap you read is not what’s actually going on. Don’t believe the spin ma man. It’s all tom kite!

P. s welcome to the gers Jamie Murphy.

Der-goalie I don’t understand your comment there! I’m sure that no one that knows you would ever say that you were not a rangers man! So why isn’t DM. You are sayin you don’t know why he is bein made out to be a rangers man because he only worked for the club for 5 years of his career? Surly what makes us all rangers men is our love for the club. Do you know DM personally to be able to say he is not a fan? I’m sure what make a rangers man is a person that grew up supporting our club regardless of their occupation. Why does actually working for our club for 5 years disqualify him as a rangers man in your eyes mate? How many years did u work at ibrox?

He’s had our best two results against them barring the cup semi in 5 years. At castle gray skull to boot. Credit where credit is due mate. Cum on

That’s a tough one. But realistically as the league is not in our hands (even if we beat them twice we are relying on other results) I would say the semi and gives us a great chance of our first top flight silverware in too long mate. 55 will keep for one more year. The rangers are coming my man.

Totally understand your point but I think the continuity in the team helps the boys gel quickly and that has been the most Impressive think murty has achieved. getting the 11 playing very well in large spells together. If the same formation can beat Ayr and Celtic there’s no need to upset that harmony I reckon.
