Just watched the Raskin water gate footage again. I'd like them to show it another 10-15 seconds back. The Aberdeen fan had a coke cup in his hand that he then threw at Raskin after the water was sprayed.
I'd like to see if he threw liquid first at Raskin that emptied that cup. Unlikely to have been water or coke. More likely he threw [urine] at the players?

JFM reports are now saying he did. However imo players need to rise above that and not react. report it to authorities and let them deal with the idiot if he did it. the incident was recorded on camera so hopefully now Aberdeen can deal with him accordingly.
hopefully Raskin gets same 'punishment' as Cerny in getting a stern warning. I remember Halldiay not that long ago being sent off for making a hand gesture to opposition fans and getting banned.
this is what I understand to be our standards, i. e. that players act in a way the club expects either on or off the field.
so yes the fan was wrong and an a@se but Raskin needs to learn to not react, which is difficult I understand. but hopefully Raskin gets censured and the fan gets a match day ban for a few years.
13 Jan 2026 14:38:53
I agree he shouldn't react Angus but it is not as easy as that. It could simply be a reflex action. Your body reacts when under threat and sometimes it cannot be controlled.
Its a fight or flight reflex, we all have it. Typical press only showing the bit that they choose.
Barely a thing said about our players getting pelted both after the first goal and after the disallowed goal. Fernandes clearly struck on the head. I don't see that clip all over the press. Maybe he should react differently,"can't say I wouldn't respond if attacked.
13 Jan 2026 15:49:15
JFM you are correct in what you say but if you look at the available video Raskin comes back out of the tunnel with the top off his water bottle and throws it so itTransfer Rumour Watchan instant reaction. I am not having a go at him as I can understand how difficult it is but fans always talk about standards and that Raskin is captain material so I guess I just expect better.
re the coin throwing until the clubs are held totally responsible for what happens inside their stadium then nothing will improve. Imagine if a club got their whole stand closed down for this how quickly clubs would act; if it was the away fans then they would lose seats at their home ground. they would make sure their stewards were doing more, the police were taking action and they would actually look at their cctv. same for us granted and we are as bad at times.
13 Jan 2026 18:20:16
Yes we are Angus, only difference i see is that when it happens with Rangers fans (which i call out every time) the press are all over it.
You are some man Angus if you could let someone toss something on, you and walk away.
I know i couldn't.
He's lucky Raskin is as small as he is as he could've got much worse if Raskin could've reached him.
12 Jan 2026 22:41:16
I have read all the arguments for signing best players from domestic rivals.
I would argue that January is not the window for this.
For as much as these players have caused us issues they have caused Celtic a lot more problems.
We need our domestic rivals maintaining the ability to take points off our title rivals.
Agree7
13 Jan 2026 07:26:07
Totally agree although could buy and loan back for rear of season in prep for guys going out of door end of season.
13 Jan 2026 07:53:45
Its a bit like a catch 22 Aphelion, on one had we want to stregthen to give ourselves a better chance but at the same time we don't want to give our rivals a better chance by weakening opponents. Although I do like a couple of the Motherwell lads and I think that they would be very good additions.
13 Jan 2026 09:37:53
It's one thing performing freely for Motherwell in front of 7000 fans who don't to expect every week β¦.
Moving to Rangers in January in a title race with expectations for you to make a difference in front of 50000 plus is night and day β¦
PRESSURE off the scale β¦
The summer with a full pre season would be my preference.
13 Jan 2026 10:07:40
Lmao, how do these players perform when playing against old firm. Exact same. Don't see your point. It's not like they haven't played in big stadiums.
13 Jan 2026 10:11:17
LMAC that would be my concern and I agree entirely.
13 Jan 2026 10:51:53
It's more of a concern with players coming in on big wages and they don't perform, as we seen this will Ramsey on loan.
13 Jan 2026 10:52:08
davie, but they are playing without the expectation of winning. I saw the way the Motherwell fans were when they were drawing last time we played. they are more than happy with a draw against us whereas that is the end of the world for our fans. different mentality as a club including the fans.
12 Jan 2026 20:35:57
Guys I was listening to the phone in earlier, Scott fry was getting praised and deservedly so. Got me thinking about the last time that we were actually a threat from set pieces and I can't really remember, maybe during Gerard's tenure?. Anyway I think it shows that our coaching in all aspects over the last few years has been sub par. The difference since Rohl came in and brought his own team of staff has been remarkable.
I'm sure some staff have been retained but I'm sure you get my point. Are we finally getting competent people in important roles? If Rohl and his team can get these players playing with the attitude, fight and mentality we have seen recently, just think how good we could be next season after a couple of windows when Rohl gets his own players in.
Agree3
12 Jan 2026 20:45:43
BPB according to Rangers Review we scored 38 form set pieces between 2021-23 (2 seasons with 21 in 22/23) but in 2 seasons since then only 17. we have 11 so far this season so well on our way.
25% of goals in the league came from set pieces last year and we were bottom of the table.
13 Jan 2026 11:33:06
It's something we needed to address, both offensively and defensively. We didn't score enough and lost far too many. The difference now is clear for all to see, we vary deliveries into the box (and let other players take set pieces) - defensively we are better organised and win more second phase balls.
Some teams now even have throw-in coaches, which is a step too far for me.
13 Jan 2026 12:50:01
Definitely helps when you have players that are good in the air. Under Gerrard we had Goldson, helander, katic and even Morelos all good in the air and a threat from corners last two seasons we lost that. Now we have big Manny.
13 Jan 2026 13:55:08
Big Papa Bear, you're correct about Scott Fry, he deserves all the praise he's been getting.
How classy from Danny Rohl to thank Kevin Thelwell for bringing Fry to Rangers - what a gent our manager is.
12 Jan 2026 13:20:14
I see Per Mertesacker is to step down as Academy manager at Arsenal.
I would love for him to take over as Academy director but I imagine that something huge will come his way.
Agree0
12 Jan 2026 17:07:02
Do we even have an academy?
They don't play in any league and if they are anywhere decent they head straight down south?
12 Jan 2026 17:19:43
We do but the club will be restructuring the academy in the near future.
12 Jan 2026 17:35:11
This sounds like prima nocta, are you trying to breed us out Aph. π.
12 Jan 2026 17:55:20
Shota if it benefits Rangers then yes π.
12 Jan 2026 18:07:58
if Aph had his way we would be playing in the Atlantic league.
12 Jan 2026 18:42:16
Something needs to happen for us and others for getting b team in the league.
12 Jan 2026 19:33:43
True blue yes if I had my way Rangers would play in a league with vastly improved finances that outperforms the SPFL in every metric.
But I don't see how that is relevant or why there is the need in renewing old arguments.
12 Jan 2026 19:49:35
Aphe that is true about old arguments but it is also true that we need to have a more diverse senior management structure than restricting them to Scandinavians and Germans. similarly with players and coaching staff.
this is the only way to benefit from new ideas. I understand that you are putting forward individuals who you see would benefit the club and realising they won't all happen but still feel we need that diversity just in case.
12 Jan 2026 20:20:57
Of course we do Angus, I only mentioned someone of an Elite level that is all.
As I have always said my suggestions will always be loaded towards people and nations that I have knowledge of.
I rely on other posters bringing other names to the table.
12 Jan 2026 20:23:29
As I said I am fully behind Gillespie even though I know very little.
I don't want Rangers to restrict themselves at all but I want Rangers to get the best talent we can afford.
It makes a great difference from the persistent disappointment coming from England.
Thelwell being the latest.
12 Jan 2026 20:49:01
Aphe as I say I know you are mentioning names purely from your experience and sphere of knowledge.
as we don't have that structure for an academy or youth/b team structure really in place currently then whoever we get would need to be able to put in place and develop a new structure.
whilst granted also trying to untie the one arm from behind his back that the SFA seem to insist on.
12 Jan 2026 20:53:19
I don't necessarily agree that diversity is a strength. Why does the senior management structure have to be diverse? Competence is the only factor not nationality.
12 Jan 2026 21:47:24
Angus I agree, that is why I would prefer we get an Elite Level operator to set up that structure.
Embracing nations we have not in the past could open up a lot of new relationships and pathways.
12 Jan 2026 22:09:20
BPB they would be competent but you outdent just be seeking people out with 1 nationality or background otherwise you have a small brain pool to get ideas from. they will all be competent but it is getting the right blend of competencies to move forward in the right direction.
13 Jan 2026 07:00:45
I'm sorry Angus but I completely disagree. Diversity does not guarentee "a larger brain pool to get ideas from". Only experience and competence and those with that a greater knowledge and understanding of the Scottish game would generate fruitful ideas. I would also argue that Diversity within our playing and coaching staff has been prominent over the last few years and has been very unsuccessful.
I do agree that having the right blend of competencies is pivotal to move forward but ensuring a varied range of nationality should not be a factor nor a criteria when recruiting.
13 Jan 2026 09:29:18
BPB i agree, we should employ based on skills and competencies necessary to be successful in Scotland and Europe, being diverse doesn't mean we can't do that.
13 Jan 2026 10:21:24
You are right Geesadodothat but diversity should not form part of the essential criteria when recruiting.
13 Jan 2026 12:53:17
Think Angus is more meaning we widen the pool of people we look at rather than we must hire a certain amount of a, b and c.
13 Jan 2026 13:14:26
of course widening the pool you fish in gives a greater number of people to consider hiring. in Scotland/Norway/Sweden or any country you name there will be a finite number of people with the required competencies. they will have only experienced potentially the situation they oversee in that country. so by looking all over you get more people who have those required competencies and will have experience in different countries.
so the diversity I am talking about doesn't mean not hiring the right person for the job it just means giving yourself a wider selection of candidates. this isn't about weighting selection in preference of someone based on gender, sexual preference or nationality but of looking at all who are competent.
13 Jan 2026 14:33:47
Rangers academy team play in a league, it's the b team who don't play in a league.
13 Jan 2026 16:44:53
12 Jan 2026 19:49:35 Angus Post
We need to have a more diverse senior management structure than restricting them to Scandinavians and Germans. similarly with players and coaching staff.
Sorry Angus but if you read the statement you made it certainly implied that nationality should be a criteria because you said we should not restrict them to Scandinavians and Germans which are nationalities, which is what I disagreed with. Perhaps you did not explain yourself properly to begin with. I do agree that we should cast our net far and wide.
13 Jan 2026 18:26:04
BPB I think it was just my original explanation which is why I went further in my latest post. My original was in response to Aphe putting forward just the names of those nationalities as all of our senior management group. I understand he does that as these are the names he knows but feel we need to look far and wide to get the right people.
however again if every Scandi or German we employ for the Academy has huge experience across several countries/clubs I would reconsider. but again what say do I actually have in it π.
12 Jan 2026 13:05:53
Jim Gillespie announced by Rangers as some1 prior mentioned him.
Agree0
12 Jan 2026 12:37:45
This is in no way an attack on the lad Olson, but having watched some of his highlights videos he doesn't impress me very much. His crossing looks very poor and according to his most recent stats he doesn't score many goals or provide that many assists.
Is there better out there we could try and get for the same kind of money perhaps.
Maybe some more enlightened posters on here could give a better insight into this player.
Agree1
12 Jan 2026 13:16:33
I've not saw enough of him on a regular basis consistently to give any opinion on him CMac but I assume those raving about him have so by that standard he must ok? Better than what we have?
12 Jan 2026 13:31:09
Cmac, I honestly think he's very similar to Gassama, so would expect the same reaction to him after about handful of games - i. e. greedy, lazy, empty jersey, coward.
12 Jan 2026 13:43:16
He has a 1 in 4 ratio for national team.
Not sure on club football.
I'd have rather we got cerny but I'll be all behind the guy if we get him.
12 Jan 2026 13:53:48
Outstanding player, again as EHL says he is a winger so will get what every winger gets.
Cerny was never an option. He was never interested in signing permanently.
I honestly believe Andreas to be better, has not played much at Wolfsburg but neither did Cerny.
Goals and assists in Denmark and Belgium just seem to be getting ignored because of not getting the game time in Germany.
Yet some fans want the likes of Elijah Just. It is bewildering.
12 Jan 2026 14:47:20
Just sign Maswanhise he'd be on a low wage for us, Andreas is on double our biggest earner, why I believe it media speculation after seeing what he earns, plus we know Maswanhise is good for goal contributions in our league, some said he done nothing last season, he scored 5 and 3 assists in 8 games, scored 10 this season, I would have to look for his assists.
12 Jan 2026 15:03:38
Think if you look at his career there's a bit of a theme. Plays well in Denmark, goes to a better league and struggles, moves then to Belgium and plays well before then moving to a better league in Germany and struggling again. Maybe a move to a league like ours is what can get him going again, last time he played for one of the best teams in a country he had a goal or assist every 1.5 games.
I think he'd be a real statement signing, I like him and have wanted Rangers to sign him both times he was linked.
12 Jan 2026 16:29:17
My star I believe he is currently paid around 45 thousand pounds a week.
12 Jan 2026 16:48:29
Star where are you getting those figures for Maswanhise from? he played 27 times in league last season scoring 5 and 3 assists. 16 were from the start and 11 as sub. so his figures last year weren't hugely successful. If you use Skov Olsen in Belgium for 1st half of the season started 14 sub 5 with 8 goals and 4 assists. moved to Wolfsburg scoring 1 in 4 starts. his season this year has been a bit stop/start with a few injury niggles.
but did better last year in half a season than Maswanhise in a league which contains Genk (9th in league) and Brugge (2nd in league) who both beat us.
so if Maswanhise did well IYO then I would argue Skov Larsen did better.
12 Jan 2026 17:13:47
Angus only had a quick look last week mate, he's doing very well this season.
I had another look Aphelion 90k including bonuses.
12 Jan 2026 17:18:58
Angus would u sign Olsen for β¬2m loan fee then β¬7 in summer on 4 year deal. That's Β£9m plus 35k a week for 4 years is another Β£1.8m a year so 7.2m all in all over 16m for 4 years in Scotland?
12 Jan 2026 17:46:55
Yer selling him well Stevie, I'd want 30 goals a season and for him to walk on water and turn Bucky into cognac for that kind of money.
12 Jan 2026 18:09:28
Stevie. firstly I never believe any of the figures coming out. However if the club think that level of player at that price and wages is the way to go then I support that. he has performed excellently at the two leagues where he has played that are similar to ours. He hasn't at two teams who were/are mid/bottom of the table so perhaps he is better when his team are on top and on the front foot; or this level of league may be his level and he excels in that environment. haven't watched enough of him to tell and I suspect the majority saying yes or no haven't either.
however we want to improve the team and the first real signing of note the club are linked with and it is being derided.
re Maswanhise yes I would imagine he would be cheaper in wages and fee but how would he cope playing for us as it is a different proposition to Motherwell. 23 and hasn't played for any other club apart from Leicester u21s. is that odd when clubs down south are singing the OF 16 year olds. doesn't make him a bad player but a risk as well.
Oh and that is making the assumption Motherwell would be willing to sell him to us and to us for a cheap price. what happens if they start asking Β£6M like Hibs are for Bowie; which deal looks better now?
so I enjoy the factual parts of these discussions but let the club decide who to sign. sorry long winded but just me π.
12 Jan 2026 19:00:17
Angus good reply mate cheers
I'd like both, maybe sign the Motherwell boy and leave him till summer if that's possible.
12 Jan 2026 19:51:37
cheers Stevie but just as well I am not a scout with that level of indecision π.
12 Jan 2026 20:05:17
Fair point Angus if the prices were the same then there'd be no real argument. Olsen all day long but likelyhood is Maswanhise will be a far cheaper alternative allowing us to strengthen more areas.
12 Jan 2026 20:50:46
Kaiser I would imagine that he would be cheaper. However I was putting that point forward given Hibs valuation of Bowie as they obviously don't want to sell but if they do it will be for a good price. so where Motherwell are at the moment would make me think that they would hold the same opinion on their lad.
12 Jan 2026 08:34:06
I said it last week about the fight now in our team, last night on countless occasions their were 2 or 3 players pressing the Aberdeen player with the ball, it was all over the park. fighting spirit and hard work wins games and Danny Danny Rohl has certainly brought that back to us, great to see. Roll up the sleeves and dig in.
Agree5
12 Jan 2026 10:13:54
Davie - the pressing all over the park was very impressive. Hunting in packs. The lads look fitter as well. DR in no rush to sub anyone off either.
12 Jan 2026 07:38:36
What a feeling it is watching Rangers and expecting to win. For too long I've hoped we win or I've only expected us to try and put in a shift. While I except we won't win every game, I go into games expecting 3 points.
It's the same with corners and free kicks around the box, I honestly have a small expectation that we'll score from them. For years I hated us getting a corner as we were never really a threat.
Signings are another thing getting me excited again. Now I don't expect us to get them all but it appears we're being linked with the correct calibre of player again which is great to see.
It's a real shame we need to wait a fortnight for a league match, i'd take one a day just now.

12 Jan 2026 01:13:58
Just watched the game back, can't decide if Souttar or Diomande was MOTM, couple of players not rated by some.
Agree0
12 Jan 2026 07:16:22
You highly rate Moore, MyStar.
Who was rank rotten until the last 10 minutes.
Does that mean he is no longer rated?
I like Diomande.
But we need better than Souttar at the back, IMHO.
12 Jan 2026 07:56:38
Some change in that defence since Rohl took charge.
The set piece coach could be our best signing this season.
What a job he's doing!
12 Jan 2026 09:11:52
MPH I don't think Moore is a LW. He's not fast enough much better playing in the 10.
12 Jan 2026 10:02:18
Mph so I don't rate Moore highly after yesterday? make sense mate because none in that post.
12 Jan 2026 10:06:07
Mph read you post back mate, that was just waffling about nothing.
12 Jan 2026 11:24:54
I'm only saying who i believe was MOTM yesterday, yes mph i rate Moore very highly.
12 Jan 2026 11:31:08
He was pants yesterday until he went more central last 10 mins.
12 Jan 2026 13:39:10
Would like to see Moore played behind the striker, I've gave Diomande a bit of stick on here but the last few weeks he's making me eat my words, keep up the good work Dioπ.
12 Jan 2026 13:44:37
Beale Diomande was MOTM for me mate.
Perhaps he's feeling his position under threat eith new arrival and rumours of more.
12 Jan 2026 14:20:06
Between him and Souttar for me Stevie, Souttar never put a foot wrong in that game and organised our defence mate.
12 Jan 2026 17:20:34
If he could improve his aerial ability in defence from crosses and set pieces mate I'd be all for him but that's where he fails for me and we lose a lot of goals due to this a season.
12 Jan 2026 18:44:23
I know what you think about him mate, I just hold him in higher regard than you.
12 Jan 2026 19:57:44
I rarely him as a very good defender mate but if we're to get better I think we need 2 new centre backs
Maybe that will push him to improve time will tell.
