Sky Sports have said that Rangers are one of three clubs interested in Motherwell centre back Ben Heneghan.

The two other clubs interested are Reading and Cardiff.

Would this be a good signing?

1.) 10 May 2017 17:43:38
No not at all

2.) 10 May 2017 18:41:20
Are you daft a centre half in a team that's fighting relegation let me think don't think so

3.) 10 May 2017 21:43:12
Andy

Are you saying they are no good defenders in any team I. The world that there team is fighting relegation?
That is one of the worst statements I have ever heard in my life

4.) 10 May 2017 22:48:55
Sorry andy but you can't blame one guy for a poor season. Anyway remember watching him at ibrox in the scottish cup game we won 2-1 and was not impressed

5.) 11 May 2017 08:03:32
Not impressed by this at all if this is the quality we are targeting them may as well give up now

6.) 11 May 2017 09:52:22
A number of my mates are motherwell fans and when I told them this rumour they laughed and said "take him! ". They don't rate him at all and imo this would be a really poor signing. Would rather Liam Lindsay.

7.) 11 May 2017 12:00:21
This is clearly just the agent trying to drum up interest

8.) 11 May 2017 13:31:25
Motherwell manager states no bids have come in although they are a selling club. He played well against us recently! Other than that not seen much of him but read this morning few english clubs interested in Lindsay, Charlton and Bolton I think. Would also rather we signed him!

9.) 11 May 2017 13:40:02
When Rob Kairnan could walk in to there back four i don't think he's 1 we should be watching

10.) 11 May 2017 16:17:05
id take him personally

11.) 13 May 2017 00:22:10
Ben Heneghan is a great defender and with the correct partner would make our defence strong

12.) 12 May 2017 19:41:03
Bears players like Heneghan may come BUT will be part of a swap deal! I really hope we do not give 500k as we do not have the resources (financially) BUT we do have excess players SO if players like MOH Kiernan can be used as part of a Transfer then yeah so MOH plus 100k for Heneghan or just MOH I dunno but may be only way ti get rid if these players

13.) 12 May 2017 22:52:19
If Well stay up could we not try and offload Moh Kiernan or Forrester as part if a deal for Moult we would prob have to pay the player X amount in loss of wages could maybe try same thing for Boyce. Thoughts Bears think this is one way of getting shot of the deadwood at Ibrox.

Andy Murdoch has left Rangers and is now a free agent! He looked a good player to me but obviously Warburton wasn't a fan.

1.) 31 Aug 2016 16:51:40
Said on here a number of weeks ago himand Crawford weren't good enough and would be surplus to requirements.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 16:52:50
Had his moments, but if your being honest he wasn't that much of a special player. at 21 he was still being chucked out on loan, He should be sniffing about the first team at 21. waste of a wage in my eyes.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 19:19:59
He had promise a couple of seasons ago, but never kicked on from that. Crawford, Aird also need to move off the wage bill after their current loans.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 20:22:08
Can't understand why you would say that about Murdoch young boy done well for us every time he played agree with Crawford but think your talking nonsense about Murdoch mw didn't give him a chance can't understand why boy didn't even get one game to prove himself instead wasting money on 37 year old has been still puzzles me how we haven't signed a quality CB he knew we needed one all his contacts in England and we end up with hill and senderos boy would be better at Blackpool beach #donkeys.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 20:45:21
Just like Ross McCormack, Kane hemmings etc aye?

Lad was never given a chance to develop in first team. Just hope you guys are right and this one doesn't come back to haunt us and make our development staff look like they've not got a clue.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 21:21:26
Aird murdoch and crawford suffered under Coisty and our crawl back to the top tier. All went back the way. Thought Murdoch was a big talent and Aird is doing well in MLS. i'd bring him back in a heartbeat. who covers waldo if he gets injured or suspended.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 23:13:36
Agree on Aird, not sure about Murdoch but would agree that he and just about every other half decent young player went backwards at a rate of naughts under McCoist and McDowall.

8.) 01 Sep 2016 00:23:48
I watched Aird last week on sky he had a cracking game, thot Murdoch looked good when he played u want to talk about wage thief's rossw have a look at your big pal keirnan that u can't see past right up there with the worst players I've ever saw in a rangers strip.

9.) 01 Sep 2016 02:02:56
These boys were just decent against Alloa and Annan etc and were never going to make it to the very top. Good luck to them all wherever they find their level, but none of those mentioned here were the future of Rangers. McKay, who is better than them all, needs to up his game to stay in the team, and Thompson, who I've seen and rate highly, is out on loan and he'd be in front of Murdoch.

10.) 01 Sep 2016 08:43:10
They were decent against Annan and Alloa because that's the league we were in at the time. Started off well but coisty eventually preferred has beens and never will bes. likes of Daly Shields Clarke Law Jig Moshni Boydy Foster etc and the young boys were shunted off on loan or to the bench. Climb back up leagues should have been making of these boys. but Mccoist wasnt long in losing faith in them. and wasting millions in process. Like i previously said Aird is performing at a higher level than SPL at the moment and don't understand why we won't bring him back.

11.) 01 Sep 2016 14:42:45
ross mccormack was never ever going to get a game ahead of the likes of boyd and prso, just because they would get a game now doesn't mean they would have at the time.

12.) 03 Sep 2016 12:11:02
I have mixed feelings regarding Murdoch and would have liked to see him given some game time by Warburton however I assume that there were good reasons why this did not happen. I fully agree that our young players went backwards at a great rate of knots under McCoist and McDowall and I will never understand Smith's rational behind bringing this guy to Rangers.

Most of the players that McCoist brought to the Club were donkeys and expensive ones at that but even the guys that he signed, for example Shiels, that were very good at their previous clubs, were poor under McCoist so there has to be concerns there.

Three seasons lost, but given how poor Smith was at bringing on youngsters I am not sure that it was anything other than what we could have anticipated!

Lets look forward now, not backwards because, with the exception of Advocaat, I doubt that any of our managers over the past forty years have had much credibility for bringing in and developing youngsters!

I personally want to stick by Warburton but I'm curious. Who would you bring in to replace him?

FraserM14

1.) 25 Sep 2016 15:56:44
Tommy wright but stick with warbs for now.

2.) 25 Sep 2016 16:07:02
He's to stubborn, everyone can read him like a book,433 and sixty min subs nothing will change.

3.) 25 Sep 2016 16:07:15
Sir walter ;-)

4.) 25 Sep 2016 16:12:23
We need money for development; not a new Manager. King where are you.

5.) 25 Sep 2016 17:29:34
Tommy Wright?! Was that a serious post?

6.) 25 Sep 2016 17:35:58
Alex mcleish.

7.) 25 Sep 2016 17:51:25
I actually thought we played ok today. Of course I don't like losing no gers fan does but sacking warbs isn't the answer I honestly think looking at the bigger picture he can sort team out and we can push on next season. This season was always going to be too early for us.

8.) 25 Sep 2016 18:02:55
A year n a half to sort that pish out jaws the guys not got it in him all well n good having principles but we can't win games be fair even the games we won we were lucky to win.

9.) 26 Sep 2016 16:22:11
Yes Sir Walter and Alex Ferguson
That would wet the appetite
And maybe get some investment from someone with some real cash to spend.

25 Sep 2016 15:20:19
Surely that defeat can't be blamed on Warburton. Players switched off after half-time and overall poor finishing from us. We can take a lot of positives from that game and the players will be hungry to win next week. I know it's frustrating but we all have to back the manager. Everything will work out!

FraserM14

1.) 25 Sep 2016 15:31:40
Of course it can be blamed on warburton. He picks the team and sets the tactics.
Every time we step on the park we know we need at least 2 goals to win due to dodgy CB's that couldn't keep weans oot a close. Who signed them?

Warbs out his depth.

2.) 25 Sep 2016 15:38:23
What do you mean "the players will be hunger to win the next game"?

Clearly they weren't hunger after Celtic defeat?

How many "next games" should they have - this is Gkasgow Rangers not Berwick!

3.) 25 Sep 2016 15:56:34
Excuses excuse excuses, we are NOT learning. Now out top 6 a week ahead of my prediction 2 weeks ago.

4.) 25 Sep 2016 16:14:09
Dodgy Centre backs you mentioned both had a good game today, tav was rotten for the first caught ball watching and not marking his runner, second was a free kick that shouldn't have been, once again not clinical enough and also too often backwards passes and sideways passing instead of trying to go forward. mckay wasteful with too many passes, but showed when he does take on the man (Waghorn chance) then chances do come, would like to see dodoo get a run out for all garner puts himself about all pretty wasteful, and his first touch isn't the best.

5.) 25 Sep 2016 17:09:08
@MRB123 - totally agree mate as I also thought CBs played well today. The problem today was not our CBs, it was the manager's ineptitude to get a midfielder to cover Tav when he bombs forward.

Before a ball was kicked I pointed out that our team had to defend balls into the box from set pieces and they did that well. I also pointed out that Warburton should be concerned with the Aberdeen wingers pushing onto our FBs but he stuck to his plan A (once again) and did not counter that threat.

6.) 25 Sep 2016 17:42:56
I agree BossHogg, but the team as a whole has the responsibility to cover the wing backs when they decide to make these runs, i'm not defending warburton just saying that as a team there needs to be someone vocal who organizes the team in certain situations . You think back to Fergusons Gough's Weirs etc they would have the tactical awareness and the vocal confidence to do this, something or someone we lack at present.

He would be a good signing but we already have Lee Wallace and Beerman for the left back position so I can't see us going after him.
