Is he on his way

Might be something. or maybe he ain't getting paid to do it ?.

1.) 20 May 2025 19:15:25
2 private planes arrive into Glasgow

1 from Milan
1 from Oslo

Could be interviews, training ground ect.

2.) 20 May 2025 19:28:51
No private jets from Milan or Oslo at glasgow. I'm no shift just now . Only one from northolt.

3.) 20 May 2025 19:36:33
These land tomorrow at 10 then 1

Unusual for Milan private plane.

4.) 20 May 2025 19:37:14
Glasgow has lots of private flights.

5.) 20 May 2025 19:59:18
I will be very surprised if Gerrard is our next manager, I've been repeatedly told not a chance, but if that happens am more interested in the men he brings with him because he ain't got a clue tactics wise.

6.) 20 May 2025 20:11:12
Wednesday arrivals.

7.) 20 May 2025 20:15:49
Asking about in here negri see if anyone's got Info mate.

8.) 20 May 2025 20:23:52
? steven gerrard doesn't have a clue tactics wise, seen it all now.

Aye cause we seen first hand that it was Beale that was the mastermind behind it all didn't we.

Let me ask this, Was Walter Smith a mastermind tactician, or was his strength getting the best out of his players through good man management? There's more to being an old firm manager than tactics.

9.) 20 May 2025 20:43:16
So you think he has a clue Scotty lol good for you that must be the reason he keeps jobs mate, clueless on that side of the game him being truthful he tells you that himself.

10.) 20 May 2025 20:44:38
Unusual milan flight.

11.) 20 May 2025 20:54:49
Scotty let's not compare the late great Walter smith with any manager we've seen since him!

12.) 20 May 2025 21:05:07
Gerrard and Smith shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence Scotty, can't believe you done that ?, Smith learned from one of the best Scottish managers ever in Jim Mclean.
Smith didn't have a clue about tactics we're never making that final in Manchester, just can't believe I've seen that.

13.) 20 May 2025 21:09:58
Milan plane is someone from Italy arriving hasn't been in Glasgow

Ancelotti agent?

14.) 20 May 2025 21:11:59
A don't think anyone knows

Andy halliday let slip

These proven Italian journalist wouldn't make this up so something is seriously on the cards for ancelotti.

15.) 20 May 2025 21:47:20
Doubleteam Gerrard and Ancelotti ?.

16.) 20 May 2025 22:00:35
Fork that's a different story I'm liking that.

17.) 20 May 2025 22:22:18
? now let's not pretend I said SG was better, but there are different styles of managers and a believe the type of qualities Walter had are akin to the style of manager that Gerrard is.

If posted this before but we really can't judge Gerrard for now winning anything the first season or so he came in the door. We were one game away the season before from finishing 4th in the league. Infact probably like 60 mins away before we game back and drew 5 each with hibs.

If you look at the points total each season he was here it improved each season until we won the league, and then he left us 6 points ahead. We lost the league by 4 points that season and so there was a 10 point swing from then until end of season after he left.

Since we got back to top flight I haven't enjoyed watching Rangers more under any manager than SG - I'll be glad when he's back and I can tell you that other mob won't be.

18.) 20 May 2025 22:27:22
Negri9, Ancelotti changed to David Villa's agency DV7 GROUP 1 week ago.

19.) 20 May 2025 23:19:39
He's had to pull out as he has an appointment in Glasgow to get his hair cut.

Anyone know anything about the rumour that we, along with Hibs and Dundee UTD are being investigated by HMRC for what would appear to be tax fraud?

Ayebrox

1.) 20 Feb 2025 08:39:12
I'd heard that Dundee United were being investigated for misuse of a Technology Development loophole.

Haven't heard anything about us though.

2.) 20 Feb 2025 08:45:00
Not tax fraud no however Rangers did receive tax credit that was used for research and development over the course of 4 years from 2017 to 2021 and received £748,000 from it however Rangers and hibs have submitted it in there accounts used it all by the books for the appropriate reasons only Dundee United haven't and now have to pay it back to HMRC so no Rangers haven't committed tax fraud.

3.) 20 Feb 2025 08:47:28
The government give tax credits for research and development. 28 sports teams have claimed £13million under that scheme, including Chelsea and Notts Forest as well as cricket and rugby teams reportedly.

However HMRC now saying that the grants should only be for science and technology and that these advancements benefit the greater community and not only the company with the claim. They have reportedly asked Hibs and Dundee Utd to repay those sums but haven't until now asked Rangers.

so not tax fraud. we will have R and D but it seems it may not meet the criteria to claim for these tax credits.

4.) 20 Feb 2025 09:04:27
Appears to be uncovered as part of the same investigation.

5.) 20 Feb 2025 10:18:55
Really hope this does come back to hit us. But seriously have we not learned anything from trying to exploit questionable loopholes?

6.) 20 Feb 2025 12:24:20
It's not a questionable loophole, it's just HMRC doing what they always do and moving the goal posts.

7.) 20 Feb 2025 13:43:38
Kaiser I think that this is a viable tax credit scheme in football where they would show they advanced a technological aspect of a process, say injury management, or scouting players using technology or science. I think the issue is showing that it advances it across the entire field rather than just to benefit the club. It may be that part that all of the clubs would struggle to show evidence of. just guesswork form what I have read about the R and D tax credit scheme though.

8.) 20 Feb 2025 14:39:49
I think this may come back on us. HMRC don't move goal posts - which is why when you come up with an ingenious scheme to get round paying tax you are supposed to run it past them first. Otherwise it can come back and bite you.

Tax law is one of the few areas of law that is retrospective. The HMRC doesn't move the goal posts the avoider failed to work out where they were.

I'm hoping we haven't done anything wrong but our record is not good - at least the bill will be a lot smaller than last time if we are.

9.) 20 Feb 2025 14:45:46
Various spiv tax advisers have been promoting iffy R&D tax claims to just about any company that will let them. It's been rife for the last few years and isn't restricted to football clubs. In a nutshell, they've claimed money back from HMRC on the basis of really tenuous claims that normal business expenditure qualities as 'research'. Different cases will have different merits, but while HMRC have been light touch on this for a while, they're now cracking down on it and investigating claims that look spurious.

From a passing exposure to this in football i'd guess the majority of claims were spurious and clubs will need to pay at least some (maybe most) of the money back. Our total exposure seems to be circa £750k, so not earth shattering, but embarrassing given our history.

Some background here (relevant as ZLX advised Dundee United (and if guess others) per reports.

10.) 20 Feb 2025 16:09:31
We've not diddled the HMRC it's a genuine scheme that multiple clubs have accessed, it's for R&D and must be used accordingly, if it isn't it has to be paid back, and as someone stated earlier, John maybe? Unsure, it was in the accounts as used for it's intended purpose.

The lad that threw the bottle at Sinisalo has been jailed.

Apparently he was identified by his distinctive white teeth. Don't know what that says about the rest of us ?.

05 Jun 2025 09:07:53
Took a wee break from here because of the excitement/ hype/ break from reality that some had around the takeover. and whilst I have hope that this all works out, I am also a realist.

This is a project. We have a new manager. He's maybe not who we would pick ourselves but our club picked him and he picked us. He's a prospect with some experience, more so than BF so he gets the respect and time to do the job until he doesn't.

That's is all.

Ayebrox

30 May 2025 23:04:20
I am very, very, very cautiously optimistic about the take-over. The reasons?

1. I expect teams to raise their prices now that we've got 'money' .

2. These things take time possibly one season maybe more. Don't be shocked if you hear the words 'building' 'transitioning' 'developing' etc coming out of our new coaches mouth if we drop points in the first five league games

3. Look at Man Utd.

I hope those things aren't true. But I'm not holding my breath. Been through too much over the past decade+

Be nice if I'm wrong though ?.

Ayebrox

1.) 31 May 2025 00:57:18
We have always had money mate we have just been very bad at spending it.

2.) 31 May 2025 02:10:35
Dont think your arument holds tbh
1.Just nonsense
2. Time will e required but no excuses will be given if we fail
3. Man Utd, EPL teams make money just being in the league so investment is not required just need to remain in the PL, SPL - no prize money in the SPL and no chance of relegation so to make money investment required to succeed in EL or CL differnt model with lower risk and garunteed returns. The differnce is you only need a modest investment to win the SPL in comaparisson to the Eng PL to get to the champions league for profitable returns.

3.) 31 May 2025 06:39:16
All I'm saying is wait and see. Rather than getting overexcited about the new owners. 20 million is small change in this age. It's 2 maybe 3 players and we're only spending part of that on the playing squad.

24 Apr 2025 08:50:39
With Thelwell writing a book about 3-5-2 formation does anyone think we'll adopt it.

Not sure it would work with our wing backs!

Ayebrox

1.) 24 Apr 2025 09:33:45
IMO, formation should always be the managers decision.

2.) 24 Apr 2025 09:41:51
The book that's been referenced was written 20 years ago - think football has moved on a lot since then.

3.) 24 Apr 2025 12:25:22
Maybe if he was taking over as coach but he's not . Tavs getting a bit past it now, recovery wise, but it actually does suit him, Jefte and Yilmaz who are far more attacked minded than defensive, Both Jefte and Yilmaz have played as the wide man further forward this season but they both would have to be taught how to cross a ball. Their delivery makes me miss Barisic.

4.) 24 Apr 2025 12:58:00
Mark, I would go the opposite and say the club should have an identity/ style/ formation and hire a manager that has proven to work in that structure. Makes for easier transitions when new manager comes in.

5.) 24 Apr 2025 14:02:25
3-5-2 is still the best formation if you have the correct players and tactics.

6.) 24 Apr 2025 16:05:16
100% blue 89.

7.) 24 Apr 2025 17:19:41
Blue, decent point, well made.

20 Apr 2025 08:13:21
I very much doubt we could win next season. Even if we have new owners we will still need to transition and that will take at least a year, challenge the next and hopefully win a cup. League possibly in 3rd year.

Ayebrox

1.) 20 Apr 2025 10:16:26
Ayebrox not sure that would be the case and using Ange at Celtic as an example of why that isn't always the case. players we buy would need to adapt straight away for it to happen but is possible.

2.) 20 Apr 2025 10:32:25
I've always said it - things can change very quickly in football. As you say Angus, Ange is a prime example.

3.) 20 Apr 2025 10:34:51
It's possible Angus but all the boy is saying is it's unlikely which it probably is but we should always go into the new season with the aim of winning the title.

4.) 20 Apr 2025 10:45:34
Seeker, spot on.
The summer Ange took over Celtic were in such as mess we seemed certain to win the league again, and we all know what happened.

5.) 20 Apr 2025 11:30:26
I know a lot don't agree, but 4 starters and probably the same again in terms of squad depth and I think we can genuinely challenge.

Difficulty is going to be moving players on to free up the wages.

I will say that I think Champions League will be out of reach this season, and same could potentially be said for Europa if we don't get things done quickly.

6.) 20 Apr 2025 12:01:33
I'm one of those EHL, as you know (in an open debate rather than arsey kind of way) .

I think we need 5 starters in the back 4 and GK position before even looking at the midfield forward if we're going to challenge over the course of a season :D

Out of interest, what 4 starters do you think we need?

If I could only choose 4, it would probably be CBx2, CF and RW (in that order) .

I don't think that's enough. We could maybe get by with Kelly in goal but the fullbacks are very week for me (unless Kasa comes back as he looked decent at RB) and we've not got much in wide areas that's our own either. Raskin if we hold onto him is fine as a 6 but I've never seen the hype over a season with Dio. Decent player, but too hot and cold.

7.) 20 Apr 2025 12:21:21
GDog, I think we need starters on GK, LCB, CDM and RW.

With squad depth added to RB, LB, LW and ST.

I'd be really happy if we started next season with -

GK: New Number 1 / Kelly

LB: Jefte / New Back Up

LCB: New Starter / Nsiala

RCB: Souttar / Fernandes

RB: Kasa / New Back Up

CDM: New Starter / Barron

LCM: Dio / Bajrami

RCM: Raskin / Cameron

LW: Cortes / New Back Up

ST: Iga / New Back Up

RW: New Starter / McAusland

There's still players in there I think we need better, however I think this is realistic for one window and would leave us much stronger.

8.) 20 Apr 2025 13:14:17
We surely can put together a squad in the summer, under who a good manager who are capable of beating the rest of the teams in this league so that the OF games are crucial. Even with a poor squad we've beaten them twice this season, its all about consistency .

9.) 20 Apr 2025 14:13:18
If we go into next season with a back up list of Kelly bajrami and mccausland and Cortes and Jefte starting we'd be as well letting them lift 2 title flags on the first day instead of one.

Cortes may come good but he needs to start as back up.
Jefte has never once impressed.

Mccausland. Enough said.

10.) 20 Apr 2025 16:11:56
The ne manager will decide who is back up and who isn't Stevie.

I'd tend to agree with EHL. Neither we nor them have made 'marquee' signings. Nygren is a good bit of business. If I was to invest in a players I'd go for their signings over ours so far - apart from Doohan.

I've always reckoned this will be a 3-5 year project and am not expecting titles for the first 3 - although I'd love to be proven wrong ?.
