Listening to a couple of Hearts fans with connections to management Shankland's head is wasted and wants a move, putting 2+2 together doudbtfull for tomorrow is he on his way to Rangers.

1.) 28 Aug 2024 20:58:29
We won’t be in for a striker unless Danilo or dessers move.

2.) 28 Aug 2024 21:06:02
I think with all the speculation around us signing him in the January window he must of thought it would have been a certainty we would come in for him this summer.

3.) 28 Aug 2024 21:12:18
No he isn’t.

4.) 28 Aug 2024 21:17:49
No way, but I hope the other Shankland, David Shankland Watson from Killie, might be.

5.) 28 Aug 2024 21:20:06
Personally can’t see it. I get the feeling with Shankland if it was to be then it would be done by now.

6.) 28 Aug 2024 21:26:41
I’d still like Shankland, problem is I don’t see us carrying four forwards and with dessers in good form where does Shankland fit in?

He has played as a second forward or number 10 for hearts but don’t see him suiting that role in our team he would need to be the number 9. I also think there are other areas of the pitch that are a priority and not sure we have any interest. Plus you have to give Danilo and Igamane game time. Be shocked if it happened.

I feel for the guy as I think he deserved his dream move last summer or definitely in January window but now it makes less sense for where we are.

7.) 28 Aug 2024 21:32:27
If Cantwell and Wright leave Shankland would be a good replacement either as striker or number 10 as he has been playing with Hearts with Dessers as striker.

8.) 28 Aug 2024 21:37:57
Sadly we aren’t in for a striker because the manager board and majority of fans now feel that Dessers is going to fire us to the league title and be the best forward in Scottish football this season. ??.

9.) 28 Aug 2024 21:47:38
Why would we be wanting Shankland signed unless for a place on the bench, not a chance does he get in the team ahead of our goal machine Dessers?.

10.) 28 Aug 2024 21:48:02
Take him for free next year.

11.) 28 Aug 2024 21:53:34
Guys we don't have 3/ 4 m for shankland or anyone it appears look at our dealings we seem to be scrambling all over for loans with or without options to buy. Have we seriously made a bid for any player? Iv seen posted on here we've bid 5m for Rhamani or 7m for whittsker and unless we get a major surprise in the next 2 days those figures will have been shown to have never been available. It's a sad reality especially with our biggest rivals spending over 20m on 2 players but as a club we don't have 5 6 or 7m to buy anyone so talk of signing any player with significant value is pointless. I hope I'm wrong but nothing this window tells me I am.

12.) 28 Aug 2024 21:59:59
It's not happening. We bought Danilo for 6m euros . and stuck with him.

13.) 28 Aug 2024 22:59:49
Shankland cannot do the job Dessers is asked to do but neither can Danilo, so is the guy fed up with Gorgie getting battered and himself no hitting the target this season? Maybe worried about relegation?

14.) 28 Aug 2024 23:17:26
Yip would sign him on a pre in January offer them 500k to get him early.

15.) 28 Aug 2024 23:26:12
Shankland is never a number 10 ?.

16.) 29 Aug 2024 02:19:40
There’s young talent in our own league we should be concentrating on. Shankland is a good finisher abut he doesn’t have the work rate or anymore to his game that is better than Dessers. If Dessers finds a bit of composure he could really hit a purple patch….

17.) 29 Aug 2024 02:27:45
Honestly this nonsense needs to stop, I've said it long enough there is absolutely no way shankland would start up front for us as a first pick it's simply not happening, had this dispute with a good friend many times and to simplify it it's like Kenny miller and Boyd, Boyd would score goals for fun in a pair, miller lead the line better, hence why he played as a loan striker in every single game over Boyd, there is absolutely not a hope in hell under our formation are we signing shankland to lead the line, to even suggest shankland is capable of playing a loan striker in our current formation is beyond absurd, yes he will take chances better than dessers at times but dessers is by far the better all round striker, I'd absolutely love a front two I've said many times on here it annoys me greatly we don't play two up front at Ibrox, if that was the case yes I'd be all for it but no way on earth we are giving hearts that type of money for a guy who would simply not be a starter, I'm honestly dumbfounded how long this nonsense topic has continued under our current formation.

18.) 29 Aug 2024 04:53:15
Just because hearts play him as a 10 doesn’t make him a 10 . He deserved his dream move
No he doesn’t.

I am glad we ain’t signing him.

19.) 29 Aug 2024 06:03:46
Can we give the shankland posts a rest man.

20.) 29 Aug 2024 06:21:21
Pile of ? every couple of days about him, to be sarcastic" not rangers class" whatever the f that is, going by some, most, if not all aren't either, madhouse in here at times. Stirring the pot further, big CD9 far better now.

21.) 29 Aug 2024 06:29:07
Lucky we didn't splash dead money on shankland, he has been dire this season, he belongs where he is in a bang average jam tarts side.

Dessers, Danilo, Igamane will be our 3 until december.

Unless we sign any new attackers, looking unlikely.

Our 2 potential attack line ups are

Lawrence, Matondo, Cerny, Dessers

Or

Dowell / Hagi / Igamane?, Jefte, Danilo, Cortes.

Line up 1 has more experience.
Line up 2 has more potential.

22.) 29 Aug 2024 10:09:43
Shankland would probably not start but would yous not take him next season on a free or in January with a small fee? Would be a good 2nd or 3rd choice striker.

23.) 29 Aug 2024 11:10:10
Looking at him recently, a chorus of 'who ate all the pies might be appropriate '
We need to do better lads, his goalscoring so far this year is up there with the other hero, TAV!

24.) 29 Aug 2024 12:16:53
Falkirk fans ripped it right out of him as did Motherwell punters, though some Ayr fans still sob about losing him but they are well fixed for his type now .

What a difference a week makes, last Sunday Andy Dunn was shouting about Rangers and Celtic joining the Premier League after our European performances I bet you he wishes he had kept his mouth shut ?.

Scrambled eggs

1.) 04 Oct 2024 07:24:59
Would love to see us join a second tier European league.

01 Oct 2024 22:25:34
Shows how quickly it can change, after tonight's game. Celtic have dropped from 2nd to 19th and could drop further when other teams play their 2nd game. something that we should be looking at.

26 Sep 2024 22:18:10
Great TEAM performance, but we must put more of these chances away.
Don't like criticizing but that's twice Tav has just about cost us a goal with his pass back to JB.
The season might not be as bad as we all thought ????.

Scrambled eggs

1.) 27 Sep 2024 09:21:28
not sure it did though Scrambled eggs. He was a bit short and Souter had to hurriedly clear. no shot on goal or chance create. I'll settle for 2-0 in every game playing like that or better and missing chances, with the opposition having no shots on target. sounds almost perfect. good thing was we never took our foot off the gas and kept creating those chances to the end. we have a habit of stopping the intensity which is when missing chances come back to bite.

21 Sep 2024 08:52:22
With Jefte being suspended for Thursday night do you think we should try out his replacement.

Scrambled eggs

1.) 21 Sep 2024 12:22:43
It will likely be Sterling, so do we try him out as you put it or do we save him so he doesn`t get injured and miss the Malmo game too. I think he will be kept back for that game.

2.) 21 Sep 2024 13:12:46
Yeah I think Sterling will start against malmo no need to play him at left back today I would play Jefte as he will get a rest during the week.

14 Sep 2024 08:22:11
With all the flak regarding Tav. can you just imagine the reaction if he was to miss a penalty on Sunday. ?.

Scrambled eggs

1.) 14 Sep 2024 09:06:51
Hopefully now any speculation of a transfer has gone, he'll concentrate more on his game and will try harder to do the basics right. Hopefully, he won't insist on taking every corner or free kick and give someone else a chance. A big game tomorrow and three points us what matters, so here's hoping Tavernier and the rest of the team realise what's at stake and deliver a winning performance.

2.) 14 Sep 2024 09:33:49
Does anyone truly believe that Tav isn't trying his best. and/ or do they honestly believe that it is Tav who decided and continues to decide that he takes every corner and free kick, even heard throw ins mentioned. If he wasn't trying and it wasn't the team plan for him to take them do you not think the 4 managers he has played under would have stopped it by now.

3.) 14 Sep 2024 09:36:20
Tav will be fine tomorrow I have no doubts. It's only Maeda is his nemesis. He's fine for 90% of the league but Europe is another matter.

4.) 14 Sep 2024 09:38:39
Scrambled don't build your hopes up, it might come back and bite you in the arse.

5.) 14 Sep 2024 09:44:50
Tav is a classic example of a player who's physical attributes masked their technical deficiencies.

The challenge now is to adapt to bring to the fore his strengths - which we'll start to see more and more of as he moves between RB and CM - which we'll see more off now we have better options in the structure from middle to front.

He still has a lot to offer the team.

Oh, it's also not his decision to take set pieces - it's the coaching teams and he's on them as he was the best. That will change now though.

6.) 14 Sep 2024 10:21:30
That probably describes most footballers these days tbh, particulary Sco footballers, its only when you are upa gainst a team or palyers that has it all you realise. I would say Zidane personifices this, prob the most technialy gifted player you could imagine at 6 2, did he have a weekness, prob not. Another argument would be poundshop Ronaldo, without his physicality is he the second best palyer in the world? Messi on the other hand? Intersting debate.

7.) 14 Sep 2024 10:11:44
If he misses a penalty that’s football, he’s already missed 18:: he would not delib Miss a penalty, we back him to score the next one.

8.) 14 Sep 2024 11:36:20
Tav is doing nothing waiting for that pen that's about all add to his stats all he gives a fook about.

9.) 14 Sep 2024 12:31:15
Need to get behind anybody who plays. They need us now more than anything. I think the talent is there. We just need to get the confidence back and go on a run.

10.) 14 Sep 2024 11:15:22
Wouldn't have him starting tomorrow.

11.) 14 Sep 2024 14:42:55
Angus, with respect, what has four managers got to do with it? Not all of the managers signed him as he was already under contract and his captaincy wasn't in question. He has gone downhill since the Europa Final, which was exposed time and again - especially against Celtic. His goals and assists were deemed to offset his defensive deficiencies but now they've dried up. If he was so well thought of by Gerrard and Gio, why did neither push to sign him? If his levels of effort shown this season are him trying his best, clearly his best is no longer good enough.

12.) 14 Sep 2024 16:18:20
Angus no one says he is not trying he is just rotten now.

Bazbear73, I completely agree with you I think regarding giving him the armband don’t like keepers as captains, must be a player in there if S C brings him on in the big games.
