It is all well and good bringing these young lads here, but they need to play. Lovelace could potentially make it here if he was given an opportunity but right now that isn’t happening. There’s no reason why Lovelace couldn’t be the third choice striker.
Lewis Mayo could have been Rangers 4th choice CB for last season but Balogun was signed to play ahead of him. Now Mayo just had a standout season for Kilmarnock, and Rangers are kicking the can down the road with a 12 month extension to Balogun’s contract. It’s the Greg Taylor situation all over again. Kilmarnock will end up selling him for a huge profit while Balogun hangs up his boots.
There is no trust in the youth players. McCausland had a lot of game time last season but I suspect that was due to the fact we basically had no other options. Lammers had been loaned out, Scott Wright is horrific, and Sterling isn’t even considered a winger. Let us hope McCausland doesn’t drift in to the abyss once a couple of proper wingers are signed this window.

u saying lewis mayo is a candidate to play fir rangers in europe, because he isn’t close, until we find the right central defence, balogun is a very good choice, but we will firm up the defence in coming weeks, greg taylor also wasn’t good enough, he wasn’t good enough fir celtic in europe either but he got lucky in a celtic team playing against a weak rangers team, put him in europe and like many of they’re players he collapsed.

Gerrard, Gio and Beale didn`t think Mayo was good enough so Killie is probably his level and I`m pretty sure if Balogun was at Rugby Park he would be picked in front of Mayo . Don`t see any comparison with Taylor who left Rangers as a boy without getting anywhere near the first team and his big money move a couple of hundred thousand to the other mob.
We have young talent breaking through, but once they do they get no patience from the support. Devine did well in his games instead of Barisic, McCausland has been very good before his injury and after he recovered properly. His attitude in some of the games has put his more senior colleagues to shame. There are always some of our fans who write them off so I don't expect any of the boys mentioned to get much support once they break through.

Patterson came through the youth ranks to 1st team, ut the board got greedy and flogged him too quickly, that worked out well.
We want to be in the champions league ever year yet sell our best young players too quickly, can't have both.
Yilmaz, Bassey, Nsiala, Patterson would have been some defence.
oh well nevermind, let's squander more than we got buying several replacments that are nowhere near that level, 5 steps forward, 9 steps back, and we wonder why we can't beat brendons bang average celtic team, not like it ange's side anymore, who were far more dangerous side, once he got them going (Just not in Europe lolz)

McCausland had plenty of chances last year and I'm afraid to say he didn't really take it. He had a couple of decent performances but was not good enough, I really expected the lad to kick on but he just stagnated. I feel the boy could use a loan deal to really kick on without the pressure of playing for us.
Great news that we have offered these boys new deals but again, who are they going to be playing against? Should it be on our club to arrange friendlies for them instead of having a proper reserve league. Our whole system needs an overhaul and brought out of the dark ages.

Ross just needs to start believing in himself a bit more and be more direct.
Prior to his injury, despite showing up well in some games he looked like a young player trying to find his feet.
He looked more positive on his return.
Like many of the Northern Irish lads he's as game as pebble.
Expect he might surprise a few of us this season having settled into the first team environment.
He certainly won't let us down, good luck son.

Storm is correct in my view Mayo was not ready when he was at ibrox but that because he couldn’t get games.
It’s the problem all rangers youth have they can’t develope sitting on a bench you have to play week in and week out and it will take an extremely brave strong manager to do that with position rangers are in at the moment.
I think Mayo has developed a lot and looks miles ahead of king now this should point out the importance of letting players leave the club on loans or permanent after 3 years as a youth player but with buy back option.
