supposedly McAlister wants 15k a week as assistant rangers have offered 5k a week. gerrard is wanting a massive wage as well. well over 1 million per year.

1.) 03 May 2018 17:51:33
I doubt they've got round to discussing personal terms yet

2.) 03 May 2018 18:06:53
Where u getting these figures from Jamie

3.) 03 May 2018 18:13:32
You pay a manager less than your players. You end up with Murty mark 2.

Regardless who it will be, we need to pay top money to get the best availible in our range.

If not, may as well chuck it.

4.) 03 May 2018 18:15:15
How the feck would you know this type of info, you must be the greenfly on the wall

5.) 03 May 2018 18:25:07
😂😂😂😂 is that right Jamie!

6.) 03 May 2018 18:28:05
Add this up bears take a wee bit of knowledge from these
1 Gerard houllier
2 Phil Thompson
3 Rafa Benitez
4 sammy lee
5 Roy hodgson
6 kenny dalglish
7 bra rodGERS

This = Steven Gerrard one quality manager

7.) 03 May 2018 18:34:56
Apparently both gerrard and mcallister just checked into One Devonshire, west end Glasgow

8.) 03 May 2018 19:26:48
The answer is 28

{Ed033's Note - Surely, The answer is 42 :)

9.) 03 May 2018 20:31:08
The answer is 7 and will not be 8 and no where near the 10 the manky mob think there getting ha ha

10.) 03 May 2018 21:14:28
Lol Ed

11.) 03 May 2018 22:11:15
I’d imagine £15k will be closer to Gerrards salary with win bonus and additional incentives, McAllister £5k tops but either way, I love the fact nobody has clear proof of where Stevie G or Gary Mac even are right now but you are able to get info on his personal contract offers

12.) 04 May 2018 06:19:42
Well i must say if this is true i am disgusted. was due myself and ny missus to check into one devonshire gardens 2day. Only to cancel the booking abd change it to Newcastle for a night out. haha. spewer.

18 Feb 2018 18:58:00
Todays performance was not great at all. Docherty had a poor game and bates for me is a squad player. i'd much rather have alves and martin at the back and on todays performance holt is a far better passer than docherty. But i do believe docherty will get better over the next year or so.

1.) 18 Feb 2018 19:12:08
Are you mad? In fact I'd actually go as far to say that you must be a Celtic fan.

2.) 18 Feb 2018 19:17:17
Remember docherty is only young he will have good and bad games but has the potential to be a great long term signing . We need to support all our young players

3.) 18 Feb 2018 19:23:30
Don’t agree at all. Docherty is better than Holt, Bates is better than Alves.

4.) 18 Feb 2018 19:32:37
Docherty's passing was poor today, but showed plenty of energy and some great breakup play.

I'd definitely persevere with him over holt.

5.) 18 Feb 2018 20:10:47
Honestly TGR, david bates AIN'T better than bruno alves and NEVER WILL be my friend! God almighty what a statement to come out with! Bruno alves has almost 100 caps for portugal!

6.) 18 Feb 2018 20:12:41
Total nonsense docherty broke up play numerous times but had a couple of missed placed passes. He’s the future of Rangers. Pitch played a big part in poor defending took players a while to adjust

7.) 18 Feb 2018 20:22:52
My god just get behind the team,

8.) 18 Feb 2018 22:04:35
Agree muf1970 but I was never convinced by the signing of docherty and imo is no better than barjo

9.) 18 Feb 2018 22:46:35
Bates is better than Alves. Gez peace. Is that a wind up? Do u know anything about football?

10.) 18 Feb 2018 22:52:28
alves is a good a player but i would rather see murty settle on a cb pairing of cardoso and mccorie when fit to see how these two would do rest of season if these two are not good enough going forward i would look at getting someone in to partner mccorie

11.) 18 Feb 2018 22:57:42
Anyone on the plant who follows football and knows anything about football knows that Alves is in a totally different league to David bates.

12.) 18 Feb 2018 23:21:24
Let me get this right jamie you want Bates out but keep Martin in who caused 2 goals today and had a shocker. Docherty apart from a couple of bad passes had a good game and was involved in 2 goals isn't good enough either. Mmm

13.) 19 Feb 2018 00:18:45
The pitch today was shocking for passing embarrassment advertisement for the scottish game playing on surfaces like that

14.) 19 Feb 2018 00:22:40
Well if you all think bates is a decent centre half then fair enough. But if we want to compete then both bates and martin are not a long term solution. Like i said docherty is a work in progress.

15.) 19 Feb 2018 00:29:26
Must admit I haven't been blown away by Docherty. As some posters have said he is young and will come good. Maybe He's trying too hard. Stand outs for me today were Morelos, Windass, Murphy. Thought John was good but Goss was my mom. What a permanent signing he would be.

16.) 19 Feb 2018 00:42:12
At the moment Holt is better than young Doc

17.) 19 Feb 2018 02:08:46
doesnt matter about caps lol he’s a old man who is a pussy, Bates is a lion and served us very well, he’s also a lot quicker than Alves which we need, **** Alves man you’d have to rip my leg off to take me off the park against Celtic. Bates Bates ooooooh Bates Bates

18.) 19 Feb 2018 07:59:45
Bates isn’t better than Alves although Alves has struggled. As for Docherty, he actually done ok yesterday and will only get better the more he plays. Jamie Barjonas isn’t at his level.

19.) 19 Feb 2018 09:23:23
The boy Bates is a young McLeish and together with McCorie can develop and form a formidable central defensive partnership for years to come. Alves is a lovely guy but is way past his best and at this stage in his career does not have the physicality or motivation to perform for us consistently at a high level. Great though that he is passing on advice to all of the young centre backs including Cordoso.

Great to see development and breakthrough if Bates this season. Did you see how disappointed he was when missed header and goal scoring opportunity. Priceless! Just watch how he converts and celebrates the next chafe he gets.

20.) 19 Feb 2018 09:36:03
Fs even when we win we are still getting criticised, at the end of the day we got the 3 points that we where looking for and we are now in 2nd place so get a grip and get behind yer team.

21.) 19 Feb 2018 09:56:01
How stubborn some folk must be to still be saying that Alves feigned injury at Celtic Park!? Do you actually believe it or do you just say it to justify not wanting him in the first XI? Although he's not fully impressed me, he's still the best CB we have on the books and I for one hope he turns it round and has a great last year and a half with us.

22.) 19 Feb 2018 10:04:54
I thought Bates had a good game and Docherty had couple of missed placed passes but came good remember he’s just came in to the side and Will settle in let’s get behind the team and give it a go 👍

23.) 19 Feb 2018 10:13:53
Bates would play through the pain barrier against them for sure, Alves is to old to slow too much of a pussy, we are far better at the back with Bates, and that’s a fact before results show a lot left goals conceded

24.) 19 Feb 2018 10:34:36
Bates was poor against Hamilton too many short clearances and needlessly heading the ball high but back into the mixer we need to just get the ball out the pitch and regroup

25.) 19 Feb 2018 11:41:56
Hope we win 5 3 every week

26.) 19 Feb 2018 12:08:21
I can see why the defence is getting criticism, letting three in yesterday, but the man I worry about at the back is Fod. He seems to get beaten by long range low shots consistently, and hardly ever comes off his line. A big lad like him should be commanding his penalty area. Maybe that's the way they coach them now, or has he not got the confidence to try and collect crosses. Other games he has shown some brilliant shot stopping ability at close range, but he does let himself down with crosses into the box.

27.) 19 Feb 2018 12:34:12
Alves has 15 years on Bates no? Alves has been very poor on pitch. In training prob helping young guys though. Doc first start if I'm right so calm down. Both young players and learning.

28.) 20 Feb 2018 12:17:20
Bates performances this season have been better than Alves's where before the injury so I would say he keeps his spot. Docherty loads of potential and great break up play.
Supercooper . Mate if we have Martin and Alves at the back would u not think that anyone with pace could just right through I'd rather have Bates in there he has pace and looks a proper no nonsense defender much better than their young Ayer boy for me . He has to be first pick defender
HAsn't got the credentials Alves has. But thAt because Albee is a lot lot older than him

05 Feb 2018 16:47:24
My own opinion is if we do go for all players that we have brought in on loan then what we need is 3 quality players. We need 3 x 4 million pound players. Look at the team smith had. Cuellar davis and jelavic. 3 quality players which make all the difference and in my opinion these are the 3 areas we must target. No point going out getting a load of mediocre players again.

Start going to a back 3 and playing 352. Murphy should play behind the strikers. Hopefully the sale of morelos and windass (if these teams still want them for money quoted) this would surely finance this. i'd also look to sell tav as i'm sure for 1 or 2 million there is far better out there to play as a wing back.

1.) 05 Feb 2018 17:16:14
2 problems i see
They 4 million players now are valued much higher even now davies supposedly would command a fee of around that and 2 do we have 12 million to put on 3 players, i see where your coming from with quality just we're priced out the market unless we get a bit of luck on proven players

2.) 06 Feb 2018 08:11:37
We've still Dorrans rossiter Jack mcrorie alves sitting out that's midfield and heart of the defence

3.) 10 Feb 2018 09:36:32
What we need to do is get great prospect turn them into players and get a handsome fee for them 3 years down the line

17 Jan 2018 21:02:57
I really hope they go all out for Doherty. Would also like to see them sign belgium under 21 winger Henen. Good and very fast. Plus coming to end of contract at everton. Natural left winger.

22 Dec 2017 13:29:09
Well its looking all the more likely now that ashley will put a bid in to buy us. He is the only idiot who has money and willing to invest. No matter what type of person he is there is no other intrest in us. King has no more money that is obvious. So choice for supporters carry on with same board who have no money and no vision and bleak future or get ashley in - he will try to make money and rightly so but also take us forward. There is NOBODY ELSE who is going to be so stupid to take us on.

1.) 22 Dec 2017 15:01:51
Sorry no way for the fat man he gains control and ibrox will be empty every week the guy is a leech

2.) 22 Dec 2017 16:49:59
Or the fans could buy the club. Ashley isn't stupid.

3.) 22 Dec 2017 17:09:56
Said it for months ass ley buying king out an his own manager will be in come the summer

4.) 22 Dec 2017 18:24:57
It would be different scenario this time. Last time he was shareholder saw business opportunity to make money. Deals won't be the same if he owns club that's just bad business. You can say what you want about him but he is a great business man as his net worth will prove

5.) 22 Dec 2017 19:04:06
I would love to see big butcher but don’t think he would be willing to work under Murty plus Walter is coming into Murray park and helping our new manger out
He might not be everyone’s first pick but now is the time toall get behind him and give as much support as we can because he will need every gers fan to help keep the players heads up plenty of points still to be won we can do it just need a little faith and a lot of luck
Welcome Murty and Declan to the fun time gere

6.) 23 Dec 2017 15:22:13
a board who take 2 months to decide that a youth coach is the new manager of rangers, is a board who are not fit for the job, when a small child would know leaving the decision to the new year would have been the one hundred per cent thing to do. they made the announcement to deflect from kings share issue wrangle, and like everything else at rangers recently. they bungled it and embarrassed us. u only have to look at everton and palaces turnaround to see how a new manager can make a diference if decent to the same players. we are an utter shambles from top to bottom

7.) 24 Dec 2017 14:17:41
So stupid to take us on? Don't talk daft! At the end of this season we will be rid of that rat and then income will improve with the retail. We don't want that rat anywhere near us. Honestly the dross that you read on here at times is getting unbearable.

8.) 24 Dec 2017 14:33:01
Another short term memory poster. Keep Ashley away. He will not get his Sports direct stadium

9.) 25 Dec 2017 07:41:23
I've stated on here a few times about our club going the same way as German clubs where fans have to own 50% of their club.
Rangers has a worldwide fan base, say 120,000 fans were willing to pay in £5 per week, £240 a year, that would generate 31+ million per annum. We are unable to attract investors now, say we took this route and started winning the league and competing in Europe after a couple of seasons, maybe we could get some investment. Thoughts from fellow bears.

is jamie murphy a josh windass. does nothing for 80mins.

03 May 2018 17:36:23
not a rumour but my own opinion is gerrard won't come and i really do believe all is not well at rangers. i fear there is no investment coming any time soon. as far as i'm concerned the rangers i knew has gone and we are just another team in a poor scottish league. celtic are miles and miles ahead and with idiots like king there nothing will change. complete tunnel vision from him.

1.) 03 May 2018 18:12:16
Smells distinctly like green sh&te. if no see about getting some happy pills

2.) 03 May 2018 18:30:36
Jamie if the Rangers you knew have gone you go with them. The Rangers I knew were finishing 5th/ 6th in the mid 80’s with average crowds of 12-14,000. I was there then and I’m still here now regardless. RANGERS THEN, NOW AND FOREVER!

3.) 03 May 2018 18:33:12
Real downer Jamie. SG here and talking and must be serious because no resort up here. His presence has demanded finance and seems to be getting it. Don't know his long term plan but there is a sense of optimism to it.

4.) 03 May 2018 19:58:10
If Gerrard is announced I'd be very surprised if he didn't get the financial backing he will be demanding. This to me say in my opinion that AJ has finally got the investors from his contacts in America but if it is Ashley the fat fat will end is plain and simple

5.) 03 May 2018 19:58:44

Well said sir. Two choices either support the team or don’t. While we can all have opinions and be frustrated by our current failures, if we all fold then all the others who want to see Rangers die will win. Support the team

6.) 03 May 2018 20:10:53
LDM17 totally agree. Greig, Rangers great couldn't win the league in 5 years. Ferguson and then Jim McLean turned us down. We were then as every fecking ex player is saying now a club in turmoil and no one would touch us. How many rangers supporters thought in the 9 in a row era it would be 15, because Celtic were behind us. It's swings and roundabouts and most guys will know that.

But heres the thing, Gerard would not be here and discussing it openly if there was to be a continuation of the last 2 years. Something is changing, hopefully for the better. If not then DK is great at spinning a tale even to one of Liverpools modern great players.

7.) 03 may 2018 20:34:08
jamie 5100! you're like a happiness hoover

8.) 03 May 2018 21:02:19
His presence demands finance and he seems to be getting it!?!? 😂😂😂

And can I ask how did you work that one out?

9.) 03 May 2018 21:08:11
Yawn Jamie if the Rangers you knew are gone then you must be crappin yourself that they are on their way back just watch us go!

10.) 03 May 2018 22:07:05
jamie sit back and watch the rise of the famous from the ashes steve g is a born winner and we will stop your tainted 10 in a row

11.) 03 May 2018 22:19:49
His position to succeed needs cash and he wouldn't talk with us if he wasn't getting it. Large picture pretty clear or is yours green?

12.) 03 May 2018 22:38:43
Happiness hoover lol 👏 the Jamie 5100. New from the henry range.

13.) 03 May 2018 22:44:17
Queens11 tainted 10 in a row short memory ebts side letters your 9 in a row is forever factually tainted hh

14.) 03 May 2018 23:16:50
EBTs started after 9 in a row actually 😜😜😜

15.) 03 May 2018 23:20:50
The ebts were not in existence during our nine in a row. Know your facts, and man up to a lager tops, SB

30 Apr 2018 10:31:25
could it be unthinkable that SG may be a player manager. i'm sure an unfit SG is better than what is there. there is so much needing changed in the team. the full team needs overhauled. the only loan player i'd keep is murphy and at best he is a squad player. we need a new defence badly centre of the park is horrendous. width no existent. no pace there at all.

29 Apr 2018 15:17:33
its not about spending 30 million. its about getting a manager who knows how to set up a team with passion. although i do believe that we do need 3 or 4 quality players to build a spine. the biggest issue is that by the looks of it its a complete rip up and start again. apart from tav and candieas the rest are pretty much awful. murphy apparently a done deal. well for me its a waste of 2 million. like i said scottish player WILL NOT DO. we need pace and fight and must look to eastern europe for this. my biggest issue with mark allen and Gerrard is we will end up with rubbish from english championship.

26 Apr 2018 16:52:43
if it was steven gerrard and gary mcallister then i'd take that.
All these people who say we need experience we need a high profile manager. please enlighten me why anyone with these attributes would want to manage a team who is in a poorish state playing in a poor league. Just not going to happen. So get off your high horses and look at the situation with open eyes in the current climate.

yes these are risks no doubt about it. but this is where we are now.

but it is SG and GMC then these are 2 guys who would claim huge respect from players and would give some much needed life in the team.

1.) 26 Apr 2018 18:40:43
am just interested to know why you would take gerrard and mcallister Jamie ?

what have either done in management to justify anyone having faith in them - why would we possibly take another risk given previous appointments

i don’t agree we need a high profile manager but i do firmly believe we need an experienced man given size of club, weight of expectation and current state we are in

the rangers job is not for a rookie, especially not in our current predicament - sorry gerrard def not for me

2.) 26 Apr 2018 19:28:42
what experienced manager wants the job. none. apart from possibly warnock then none want it. clarke has 0 interest in rangers.

neil lennon had no experience and did very very well at celtic as much as i don't like him he is a good manager. gio took over at fyendoord had no experience. done well. and let's face it dutch league is head and shoulders above our awful league.

people have to accept our league is on a level par with Finland northern Ireland sweden norway etc.

so pray tell what experienced manager wants to come here.

personally my first choice is potter and reid but even that may be a gamble.

3.) 26 Apr 2018 19:32:00
if it is SG and GMC i would like to see someone with more experience there with them.

but as a whole they have contacts and players may well say i'd like to work with SG. Its a guess. but like i said no decent manager with experience will touch us with a barge poll. unless they they really are crazy.

4.) 26 Apr 2018 20:01:12
Trev7, You are on about an experienced man taking the job? None are out there and Stevie G would maybe put us back on map? Going down Clarke, Neal route surely can’t be an option? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

5.) 26 Apr 2018 20:20:05
no experirenced managers out there.

really guys

maybe high profile ones we’ve all heard of wouldn’t want to come here due to SPL ok yeah I get that fair dos but there are plenty experienced guys out there

i’m not saying we cld afford or attract a moyes or bilic or allardyce but hand in heart you’d be happy with gerrard

sorry guys respect your opinion but well just have to agree to disagree

If it is gerrard and he’s a success i’ll be first to hold my hands up i promise but not my choice

6.) 26 Apr 2018 20:30:46
bilic etc is a risk as well. always had money to spend.

look what rangers are looking
1. manager with experience
2. can manage on a shoe string budget
3. can get the best out of players
4. can work with a DOF.
please tell me one who fits that bill and is cookoo enough to work in a dieing league where teams get knocked out of first round in europe. please honestly tell me why would you come.

hence why we get gerrard etc to make a name for himself and hope.

scotland as a footballing nation has gone so backwards in the last 20 years. its is what it is.

we must try to look outside the box now and pray it works.

7.) 26 Apr 2018 22:03:31
Who did Souness manage before Rangers? erm

8.) 27 Apr 2018 00:28:20
It would be less of a gamble lads if everything behindone the scenes was rosy and there was solid foundations cor a rookie msnagerbut the whole infrastruce of our club is a mess and would be hard for even an experienced man. I hope it works but I feel it's a huge gamble.

9.) 27 Apr 2018 11:32:48
A Liverpool legend with no management experience coming to rescue one of the city's big clubs who have been down on their luck, ladies and gentlemen I give you . John Barnes, and we all know how well that worked out .

the midfielders we have are not exactly great. wee need 1 quality midfielder. arfield i think will play more out on left side. for sure it will be a 4231 formation. rossiter we can't guarantee will stay fit. holt is so so. dorrans so so jack i don't rate.

i don't see why we should get rid of morelos. for me he would be great playing as an attacking midfielder. he creates space for others. he can defend and not scared of a tackle. i honestly think this would be great for him. he does a hell of a lot of running and can hold the ball up well. would also take pressure off of scoring all the time. if he chips in with 20 a season plus if we managed to get 2 strikers then that would be great. arfield to play out left perhaps with murphy as backup.

i feel he would be better suited to playing behind the striker. holds the ball up well and creates a lot of space and can actually come back and defend.

id maybe put bates there. murphy is also much better through the middle.
