I think we need to be patient as this is going to take time and money to transform Rangers to a constant top team. We do have talent and when it all works we can play some very good football but when it doesn’t work you can see the lack of consistency and true top drawer quality.

SG has only have a short transfer window at the summer I am sure we will see ongoing reinforcement over the next 12 months. We will get it sorted hopefully before Timmy get ten in a row.

January and the summer will be massive in determining Steve Gs legacy at Rangers
I am confident he will be a great Rangers manager if he gets the time.

William King

1.) 09 Nov 2018 06:04:40
Like you william king, I truly think steven gerrard, will be a very good rangers manager!

2.) 09 Nov 2018 07:07:25
It’s important to remember that all the transfer business was done in the summer with a net spend of just £7M, along side a good use of the loans market and free transfer market, we should be looking to spend this on 1 player each summer. A player of real quality who is a guaranteed starter in his position and not open to any sort of debate on here, I don’t think we have any of those types except McGregor just now, Spartak has a couple, thought that wee Hanni was a tremendous wee player!

3.) 09 Nov 2018 13:16:22
The days of us spending 7m on a player are long gone. Thought popov was there best player.

4.) 10 Nov 2018 16:24:31
Fb popov contract up in June. 32. Experienced but me a bit old. Need to see him in few games to se if he is better than what we have.

What about Rangers looking to sign the lad Shinnie from the Sheep, I think he would be great in the middle of the park. Work rate was great and he is solid in the tackle.

William King

1.) 09 Feb 2019 07:02:23
i think the lad would do a job yes - he’s ideally suited for SPL tigerish tackler and great engine

but with our media and authorities and this ludicrous trial by media we are now faced with the lad would be sent off every other week

simunovic elbow and brown tackle are blatantly excessive and dangerous so lucky to get off but I have watched the burke dive cple of times and its actually ridiculous.

Guys, be realistic if you are one of the people call for SG to be sacked. Take a deep breathe and ask your self the following questions if you got your way and he was sacked:
1 Who would replace him
2 Who would want to join a club that sacked the manager after 1/2 a season
3 Could you get as high a profile player or manager to replace him (unlikely)
4 What message would we be sending out?
5 Who would see us an investment give we have a history of instability
6 Given the time frame and budget Who would realistically would have done a better job
7 should we not be trying our best to support a young manager learning his trade who has a profile that will carry our club a long way
8 what is best for the club long term plans and stability or constant chop and change
9 if we sign 3 good players in the Jan window and kick on would you be happy with that?
10 if we beat Celtic this week we are will in the race is that not what we were all desperate for
11 do you want a man in charge that conduct himself with a bit of class and dignity or will we go back to dogs barking at caravans
12 should we not all get 100% on board and support the new team and new manager
13 by all means criticise buy shouting for the manager to go is way off what we need just now
14.

1.) 28 Dec 2018 11:58:06
No real fan would want Gerrard sacked that would be crazy right now.

2.) 28 Dec 2018 12:05:47
Great post mate massive amount of sense in it 👍👍.

3.) 28 Dec 2018 12:44:08
One thing W K. Rangers are not a toy for young managers to cut their teeth on making obvious mistakes along the way, so when we lose to Livingston and drop points to a team rooted firmly at the bottom of the league that only had 10 men are we to sit back and put it down to inexperience? Gerrard has not won a single big game yet, not one, if you're happy with that then fine but surely you can understand why questions are being asked.

4.) 28 Dec 2018 12:50:43
Good post mate
Far too much panic due to a bad December
It’s clear we just need 2-3 creative players with a bit more class than we have at the moment.
If we had this from the start of the season we could have been well ahead at the top.

5.) 28 Dec 2018 13:03:48
Well said Jyf. Glasgow Rangers are not a toy. For some reason many on here are prepared to accept mediocrity. It's a disgrace.

6.) 28 Dec 2018 13:27:53
I haven’t really seen many supporters call for his head and I do agree he needs time. He has been let down by some players and would expect to see a bit of movement both ways in January.

7.) 28 Dec 2018 13:28:41
Honestly, do you guys think SG see's us as some 'TOY' to cut his teeth on, give the guy some credit for christ sake. He IS a rookie, learning on the job. This was never going to be an instant fix, we just don't have the financial clout, even if we had, there's no guarantee in football, that money means success.
A bit of patience is required, hopefully some additions to the squad that can enhance what we already have. It takes time. No one is accepting 'mediocrity' What we need to accept is, its a project that may take 2-3 seasons to achieve. If you can't get your head round that, then that's a shame,

8.) 28 Dec 2018 13:35:49
Steve G is eventually going to be a super Manager but we need to get behind him, cause he didn, t inherited a great squad. DOF of football and the Board need to provide him with better players, but as we know they cost money. Watched Rangers for over 50 years and I am hurting like everybody else so unfortunately we need to be patient with our young Manager.

9.) 28 Dec 2018 13:52:08
We wasted time and money on Warburton and Caixhina so give Stevie a break.

10.) 28 Dec 2018 14:34:33
I think most supporters have had a moan but it’s not ever come into my mind to wanting Stevie g sacked he’s a rookie manager learning in sure he will be a winner in time just got to give him time even if tomoz result doesn’t go with us injuries not helped us see what January brings us sure there will be coming and goings.

11.) 28 Dec 2018 14:42:10
I do agree that he should be given a bit more time but also feel he gets away with a bit more because of who he is which isn't right things need to improve big time.

12.) 28 Dec 2018 14:58:38
Calling for SG head is utter rubbish. He has a team in transition and has improved it immensely spending 7m. Its clear to see improvements need to be made but he is at mercy of board in that regard. I have to be honest and say not positive against settled Tic side but we still have side to snatch win. This was something we couldn't say last season.

13.) 28 Dec 2018 16:36:20
Jyf would you part with Gerrard right now? I don't think we should accept mediocrity either but I really think it would be detrimental to our club should Gerrard be removed at this stage. we need stability and time and a wee bit patience right now. I do think we are moving in the right direction as a club. bearing on mind I really don't think any one manager could come in and put us back where we belong in six months with seven million to spend.

14.) 28 Dec 2018 17:41:30
Steven Gerrard has to have the full backing of both the fans and the board, I believe we can win things under his leadership but he needs better help from the board and scouting department. We have signed too many players that are not offering anything to us! We have 2 players that would get in celtics team and we will never win a league with that! Grezda has been a huge disappointment as has lafferty, coulibaly has went off the boil and katic is now fourth choice! We replaced windass with grezda and it hasn’t improved us! Although I agree in windass not being up to the standard we needed either! Need 4 or 5 quality additions in jan to mount any sort of challenge or pull away from the rest and build for next year, but we need to spend decent money to get what we need! Time to dig deep to back him.

15.) 28 Dec 2018 18:12:14
Slipster, did we lose to livingston and the rest because we don't have the financial clout? Gerrard made tav the captain for some strange reason and has signed some very poor players and does not play the same side twice, he's experimenting with us, a good manager would quickly decide on his best side and more or less stick with the skeleton of that side adding players here and there. Tomorrow is a huge day for us and even if we get nothing out of it we must compete unlike the last time we met. If we dont, then, for me, the experiment is over.

16.) 28 Dec 2018 22:51:59
Cracking post exactly the message that needs to be put out to all fans right now.

17.) 28 Dec 2018 23:10:12
A man after my own heart W.K. Spot on with you analysis and am confident the majority of fans support your views.

18.) 28 Dec 2018 23:04:22
I have no idea if ace. tic fans slate their team at every opportunity when things are not great (like this season) but at times I am embarrassed to be assocywith some of our sunshine supporters both on here and other forums and at matches when the boo boys are out in force.

We say we are better than them but we have a large number of people who attaches themselves to our club but shame us, the players, manager and club history.

A reality check urgently required - when it comes to the modern game, our history does not buy us success.

19.) 28 Dec 2018 23:21:49
Anybody asking for Stevie to be Sacked need to do one and go and glory hunt with a team like Man. City who have money coming out of their ears.
A Rangers fan is not just for the good times winning every week, a Rangers Fan is a lifelong commitment a way of life it's in the Blood.
Backing your Team when they need us, and Guys and Girls they need us Tomorrow so make sure you have your singing gear ready let's show everyone watching what it means to be A Ranger.

Lads if you have the slightest doubt about Steve Gerrard watch the programme Make Us Dream. This guy will never be second best he is a born winner.
The documentry was very emotional and shows the strength of this man is incredible
In SG we trust.

William King

1.) 04 Dec 2018 05:53:48
William king, what is the link to watch the steven gerrard, "MAKE US DREAM" documentary mate?

2.) 04 Dec 2018 07:31:51
Thought the documentary was average to be honest.

3.) 04 Dec 2018 09:56:15
i agree about documentary being average, no doubt he's a born winner but i was looking for more of an insight off the pitch if that makes any sense.

4.) 06 Dec 2018 13:23:48
Netflix mate perhaps try YouTube.

5.) 06 Dec 2018 13:35:48
Never any doubt William.

6.) 06 Dec 2018 13:40:59
Fair point about the off the pitch comments but for me it highlights how strong a character he is and he has made it the hard way. No silver spoon with this kid he has scraped for everything he has achieved.
The best bit is his attitude and comments they are on the Money every time. No barking dogs and Caravans nonsense. Defends his players when needing to do so and no sugar coating it when it’s Craig White
Lest hope we beet Smeltic and let’s try and celebrate if we do win with a bit of dignity and class
The Rangers way, let others do there lap of honour and prance about hanging scarfs in our goal posts.
It speaks volumes for the mentality of them. Nay brains and Zero class.

McGregor won’t make 50 way all that Shaggin. What a keeper world class.

No more BT sport for 2020/ 21 = no more Chris Mutton there is a god after all.

William King

1.) 19 Nov 2018 22:21:12
Aye but now you have more Andy Walker.

2.) 19 Nov 2018 22:24:09
Mutton has made a name for himself and will be on Sky as a pundit. He’s great at his job if his job is to be outspoken. He is entertaining even if you don’t agree with what he’s saying.

3.) 19 Nov 2018 22:44:21
Both are correct. Big picture for me is that sky are paying a whopping £100,000,000🙄 over 5 years 🤔 so £20,000,000 per season 😑.
Last place in the EPL got close to £100,000,000, for a single season 🤨.
So Rangers will get what about £2,000,000 a season, yeah sure that will bridge the gap lol it's sickening how much cash is flying about down there.

4.) 19 Nov 2018 23:02:47
Not that I like either of them. But I really can't stand Andy Walker at all and much prefer BT sport coverage of our league.

5.) 20 Nov 2018 05:08:06
crumbs from the table. it is a lot of money but not in football terms, the championship get just under 500 million in england. the new epl deal will get bigger. its a crap deal from sky sure its an improvement, neil doncaster has no vision, strategy if he thinks this a great deal for scottish football. crumbs compared to the spoiled lot down south, boycot sky as i do.

6.) 20 Nov 2018 09:32:21
how can you not disagree on sky pittance of a deal, please exsplain.

7.) 20 Nov 2018 09:39:40
Its shocking londonjock👍.

8.) 20 Nov 2018 10:58:50
coldo, we debated fiances at wkd, size of clubs, sky have only made english clubs stronger and that's the championship they threatened a breakaway league and got more money/ / / what was neil doncaster thinking on this deal. pittance in football terms, i'd rather no deal compared to this, its undervalued big time/ / / the english premier only got bigger because of skys money, clowns running and ruining scottish football from top to bottom.

9.) 20 Nov 2018 12:16:19
Couldn't agree more londonjock👍.

10.) 20 Nov 2018 23:36:45
I'm also torn between which sports broadcaster i prefer between sky sports and BT Sport! I really like the majority of the pundits that do BTSports, but i think the sky coverage and camera angles are superior to BTSPORTS! So my ideal scenario between the two, would be have sky sports covering the scottish game, with the BTSPORTS pundits moving over to sky sports, to cover it! No andy walker i agree!
He's uninteresting and absolutely in my eyes! It says a helluva lot, when i say I'd much prefer listening to chris sutton over him, any day of the week!

What do you think the strict rules are that we never hear about?

Can’t be that strict when Michael O hallaron
is in the Celtic end at Hamden. I hope you are correct as we need to set the benchmark for standards. Playing for Rangers should be an honour.

Morelos will go and we would be mad not to take £13 million upwards that’s a great price of business and it’s long overdue we balanced the books. I would love him to stay but when we are in multiple millions in debt
You need to take a balanced view of risk and reward
Keep him till the summer to make a massive push for the league and then collect and invest for next season.
