Seen this in the Daily Rebel:

"Pedro Caixinha is ready to raid his former club for a defender who is also his godson.

The incoming Rangers boss has described Ghana star Rashid Sumaila as his "trusted centre-back". "

Already identifying defenders can only be a good sign.

1.) 10 Mar 2017 15:06:17
Or he's just signing his pals already, which is never a good thing as we know from past experience.

2.) 10 Mar 2017 15:23:41
Are any of his family agents?

3.) 10 Mar 2017 15:59:05
If he bring vlad with him I'll be happy

4.) 10 Mar 2017 16:04:33
It is a very misleading title. What it is implying is that Pedro has been his Godfather in a Mafia sense.

I am happy for the Manager to bring in players that he trusts and let's face it this makes a change from players being brought in from the lower leagues in England (although some of them have been good so a mix would be great) .

5.) 10 Mar 2017 18:08:05
There was a video also online of Rashid, shows some decent potential, if he comes along with him I will be excited to see his outcome in Rangers and in the Scottish game.

6.) 10 mar 2017 16:11:33
he will have done is homework already and has probably identified several areas he would like to strengthen. hopefully

7.) 10 Mar 2017 16:56:53
Some of my family members could do a job at the back for us and i'm talking about my sisters

8.) 10 Mar 2017 17:01:31
Try get wee Weiss while you're at it

9.) 10 Mar 2017 18:39:35
Looks decent. Quick, power full and not afraid to put his body on the line a few goals too so let's see what happens.

10.) 10 Mar 2017 18:44:25
Don't get the thing about Vlad wisdom didn't think he was up to much.

11.) 10 Mar 2017 19:41:58
If this young fella is a Ghanaian international he must be pretty decent. He seems pretty solid and it looks like he likes a good old fashioned tackle! Just what we've been lacking!

12.) 10 Mar 2017 19:38:58
Wee weiss would be worth 2 players. Weiss on the left allows Barrie Mckay to take on a number 10 role.

13.) 10 Mar 2017 21:11:58
@bawbag u musta been blind a few years back as vlad was a great wee player for us, and rangers to the core

14.) 10 Mar 2017 21:19:24
It would be good to see Weiss bak but a don't think it will happen and it's almost a cert that Pedro will bring his own players in but it will be interesting to see how he shapes up the team and hope he can get the best out of certain players like moh a think he's a great player and hodson and windass

15.) 10 Mar 2017 21:59:18
Sorry Smodge remind me, what has MOH done other than score two goals against a splinless Gers team and manager? He can't control his feet, he makes Ted McMinn look like a ballet dancer!

16.) 11 Mar 2017 15:48:37
I will settle for bringing anyone in who will realise a £20million transfer after one season. But then again the Press in this country are so biased against us they would concoct some sort if sad financial wrong doing story about it. Its not just Celtic we need to beat its an entire establishment. I mean does any Rangers supporter actually believe that Scottish football plc and associated media actually want a strong Rangers. They loved every second of our fall from grace and this season has been an added bonus for them. Evidenced by the total negative reporting of the new manager even before he arrives. Expect it to continue everyone.

17.) 11 Mar 2017 21:44:54
Lol Truebrit. Totally agree but the Tin Man was a laugh. O'halloran gives us nowt

"Frank de Boer's agent claims boss snubbed Liverpool and Tottenham. but now wants Rangers"

From a rag so take it with a pinch of salt.

1.) 15 Feb 2017 16:03:57
In what universe would we be able to Finance any decent Manager. We've got more Court Cases and dud players then we've got money. Get real and start debating how we can pay our bills for this month.

2.) 15 Feb 2017 16:08:07
Sadly in the 21st century I doubt any manager would snub Liverpool and Spurs but want to take charge at Ibrox or anywhere else in Scotland.

Would be amazed if this happened but has anybody else thought about Robbie Neilson working with a DOF. Thought he did a great job at Hearts and would have no problem working together with a DOF.

3.) 15 Feb 2017 18:21:03
Robbie Neilson? A great job? Most hearts fans were delighted to see the back of him. I'm not convinced on that one.

4.) 15 Feb 2017 20:25:50
Pretty sure he means he turned them down to go to inter Milan. and is now out of work so I'll go anywhere

5.) 15 Feb 2017 23:12:19
Liverpool and Tottenham Looking for new mangers what you smoking get real

6.) 15 Feb 2017 23:35:31
If we appoint Neilson we might as well lock the gates up for good.

7.) 15 Feb 2017 23:14:27
You can believe this or not bears, but gary rowatt has a lot of support within the rangers boardroom!

8.) 15 Feb 2017 23:33:10
Naz get a grip of your life Robbie Neilson we're Glasgow Rangers and you want another mediocre manager get real

9.) 16 Feb 2017 06:17:47
Maybe our new manager will play his best players in thier correct positions. Not just his F. A. Vs. Just an idea .

10.) 16 Feb 2017 07:15:50
Some amount of arsey posters on here! I posted a headline from a rag and even said take it with a pinch of salt but posters replying like I said it was gospel!

I was only stirring up some conversation. Chill out!

11.) 16 Feb 2017 09:03:08
Is there really such a lack of coach drivers in Britain that both Liverpool and spurs would be looking for one at the same time?

{Ed001's Note - Frank de Boer was an option at one time, he was never offered the job to turn down, but he turned down the chance to speak to Liverpool saying he was not ready for such a big job. Liverpool spoke to two other managers, Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers, instead and ended up offering the job to Rodgers. De Boer only turned down a chance to speak to Liverpool and it was a fair few years ago now. I would have to check regarding Spurs, as I am not sure off the top of my head, but I am 100% sure he was never offered the job there, I think they just wanted to talk to him but ended up going with Pochettino instead.}

12.) 16 Feb 2017 10:19:47
Pretty sure any "offers" he had would have been a few seasons ago.

If we are to believe the Express (which I tend not to, hence my pinch of salt remark) then his agent says he's interested in the job.

Is anyone else having a wee chuckle watching the sheep lose a host of first team players and possibly their manager?

Would love to see them put well and truly in their place next season.

1.) 01 Jun 2017 16:43:11
I think Pedro called it right saying they were coming to the end of their cycle. What a shame.

2.) 01 Jun 2017 17:18:58
Yep, really think they might struggle to finish 3rd next year

3.) 01 Jun 2017 17:22:41
Ye surprised they let McGinn go thought he was a first team regular

4.) 01 Jun 2017 18:15:24
While there is an undoubted satisfaction and gratification from watching those who seek to oppress us get picked apart, I would prefer teams in Scotland as a whole to stabilise and strengthen to raise the standard of our game and give us that continued healthy competition to push us on in the years to come. Having said that, I would like or league to become a healthier environment similar to the German league where teams don't have the same spitfull attitude towards one another hoping for each other's demise, with the exception of Leipzig who seem to be universally hated over there by opposing club's.

5.) 01 Jun 2017 18:54:50
Have to say lads i'm loving the fact they are falling apart, i live up in Aberdeen and the last 5 years they have taken the piss, trully believe they will fall back to mid table side they truly are

6.) 01 Jun 2017 19:09:02
Dont see what the fuss is about we were really bad the whole league is rotten Aberdeen were bad but the league standard flattered to deceive in their case, celtic were by far the better team in a crap league and that team in the past would not have won anything, in fact when we went down Aberdeen, hearts and the likes should be ashamed of themselves that they never came close to challenging. Next year once we resume normal service the also runs of sheep and jambo's will be back to moaning of old firm monopolies even though they are the ones who voted against a bigger league with less matches against the old firm and effectively a better chance of winning the league for more matches of getting beat by the old firm as long as it means getting the cash that comes by playing us. I hope they follow dungdee utd and get relegated as they are a blight on the landscape. Good bye sheep lovers I'd like to say you tried but you only know how to do that when the mighty Glasgow rangers come around

7.) 01 Jun 2017 20:21:35
Spot on gary75

01 Jun 2017 08:35:16
Anyone think Bruno would make a good captain?

lwdawson

1.) 01 Jun 2017 08:53:34
Yes I think he should be

2.) 01 Jun 2017 09:28:26
He's not even kicked a ball yet in Scotland

3.) 01 Jun 2017 09:35:23
pc said he is leader on and off the park, read that whichever way u want

4.) 01 Jun 2017 10:22:13
Wouldn't strip Wallace of captaincy. I'm sure with better players round him his performances will improve.

5.) 01 Jun 2017 11:09:37
I agree with what your saying but it's important that we keep to our roots, retaining our scottish brand. Giving a foreign player the captaincy due to stature in the game would be a mistake. Wallace has been a great servant to us through our dark times. Kicking him in the danglebag isn't really repaying his loyalty.

6.) 01 Jun 2017 11:45:08
Alrus blue, Alves wouldn't be the first non scot to captain Rangers - Amaruso for 1.

7.) 01 Jun 2017 12:52:59
That wasn't the basis of my point. What I meant was Wallace has done nothing wrong and remained loyal to the club. To strip him of the captaincy would be harsh. Yes Bruno Alves is a vastly superior player but we already have a captain. If we were to srtart this trent, we'd be reassigning the captaincy on player status, season on season.

8.) 01 Jun 2017 13:43:40
I wouldn't strip Wallace just yet but what it is good to see is that Caixinha has spotted the lack of leadership all over the park and is improving that with the likes of Alves and Jack.

Record headline:

"REVEALED: 69% OF RANGERS FANS WOULD CASH IN ON BARRIE MCKAY"

I don't remember being asked about McKay by the record. Any of you guys?

What it should read is:

"REVEALED: 69% OF MORONS WHO BUY THE RECORD WOULD CASH IN ON BARRIE MCKAY"

They are trying to cause unrest in our squad and it's not even pre-season yet!

lwdawson

1.) 25 May 2017 13:42:50
Even this morning being linked with Carlos Peña - they are now running a story that the guys a trouble maker and has problems controlling himself. I never see this sort of artwocle toward prospective Celtic targets or ano other team for that matter in Scottish football.

They'd be more honest running a headline stating 'WE HATE RANGERS - WHO AGREES? '. I hope that biased @rse rag goes out of business sooner rather than later.

2.) 25 May 2017 14:05:36
Hahaha yes! Spot on mate that made me chuckle

3.) 25 May 2017 15:27:09
get a grip with this ma dugs bigger than your dug guff.

they are not out to get us, they know we are tender right now and there to be annoyed.

relax and enjoy next season

in pedro we trust

4.) 25 May 2017 16:18:54
What's the point of the article if not to cause unrest?

5.) 25 May 2017 16:19:09
BlueBlood

I'm not coming from the argument, 'my dugs bigger than your dug'. I'm simply pointing out the inequality of their reporting at the moment and the imbalance. Trust me it doesn't effect my sleep.

6.) 25 May 2017 16:59:33
alrus, a agree they aw spout crap but it works both ways don't let them get to you, buy a different newspaper

7.) 26 May 2017 19:08:54
i read the record in the morning just to have a chuckle . even when they are nowhere near the truth of a story they print it anyway i don't know how they have no lawsuits pending for liable

Nice wee pic in sightings showing the SPFL club by club highest attendances. Just goes to show it really is all about the Rangers.

Who would be your no.1 realistic signing for next season? Mine would be Jamie Walker.

lwdawson

1.) 05 Apr 2017 20:42:36
Vladamir weiss

2.) 05 Apr 2017 20:31:57
He would be in my top 3/ 4 but i'd prioritize a midfield general and a no nonsense cb!

3.) 05 Apr 2017 20:39:46
Lwdawson, i agree with you in the sense that jamie walker would be a tremendous signing for us mate!

4.) 05 Apr 2017 21:49:40
Liam Lindsay Partick CB

5.) 05 Apr 2017 21:59:27
No Scottish based players or English lower league players I'd say wiess is probably the highest quality player we may have a chance of getting.

6.) 05 Apr 2017 23:52:00
Aberdeen have done a piece of good business in getting Tansey. Murray Davidson would be not bad. We need to aim higher, but realistically we also need some players who will just come in and be good from game 1 and that know what its all about.

7.) 06 Apr 2017 12:54:32
For me Weiss, Lindsay, Hyndman (loan) and Patterson

8.) 06 Apr 2017 15:17:48
Well that was awful. Pedros got a big summer ahead

9.) 06 Apr 2017 17:01:39
goalscorer rooney would bang in 30 for us a year the amount of chances we create

10.) 06 Apr 2017 17:04:49
Jamie Walker? Aye 100% take him but they'd want big money.

11.) 06 Apr 2017 20:41:15
There are literally thousands of players out there that we know little or nothing about, without the same old boring scratching around for mediocrity. I'm sure the manager will know far more about potential targets than just Aberdeen, Partick and the English lower leagues.

Don't know if you have a short memory or just a complete lack of principles, Martyb125.

Not denying he's a decent player but principles are more important to me. The good days will return without having to beg a Judas to return.

You'd probably rather have the gardener back rather than Pedro too.

Same here. Raised protestant but quickly became an agnostic atheist when I seen through the religious bull. It only serves to divide and control us.

I'll never understand the morons, on both sides, who spout this crap but have friends, family and work colleges on the opposite side of the divide. hypocrites!

Are we supposed to believe the support booed off one of our goal scorers? I head some booing on TV when young Jamie Barjonas was being taken off, but I'm pretty sure that was because the young boy was having a good game and the fans wanted him on the park.

I won't call for his head till he's had a chance to sign his own players. However, a good manager looks at what he has and figures out how to get the most from the players available to him. Pedro can't seem to get the best out of the players and persists on trying to play systems which the players obviously aren't comfortable with.
