I know we probably couldn't afford him but I would love to see us get Jamie Walker.

1.) 22 Jan 2017 20:05:10
Bears, I genuinely think that there is someone out there who will or is considering investing in us, when u think about it the Lge is a two horse race and qualifying for the Champions League nets the club around 20m SO if someone knew his investment would get a return profit and knowing that this would be a long term project surely it would be an attractive investment. This may be la la land but IF someone invested 20-25m over 2 seasons then we won the Lge in the 3rd AND qualified for CL then they would be on there way to getting back there investment, add the ending of the Sports Direct deal then Rangers must look to be a great chance for someone or an consortium to look at. Now and this is super la la land but if Scottish Clubs out with the Old Firm could have an impact in Europe and we got back to the position when the Lge winners qualified automatically and 2nd got into the qualifying rounds, Clubs in Scotland would have a great chance to actually make some cash.
Also bring back the Cup Winners Cup, make the Lge cup a route to this and thus Clubs regarding it as a Mickey Mouse Cup and also give a place to a position in the Lge it would give smaller Clubs the chance of European football and their fans and another source of revenue. So Bears let me know your thoughts on these?

2.) 23 Jan 2017 06:34:52
Your correct with one thing Andy, la la land. Scottish teams can't do it in Europe. Hearts got put out with a team from Malta. Celtic got beat away in Gibraltar, struggled against Astana and held on by their fingertips against beer sheva. So spending silly money does not make it a certainty of getting into champions league.

3.) 23 Jan 2017 13:19:56
Not sure what any of that has to do with my original post! Hahaha

21 Jan 2017 07:34:00
Let's say McKay does go to Leipzig and we get a decent fee, would you trust MW with the money?

1.) 21 Jan 2017 10:19:06
Both are very unlikely

2.) 21 Jan 2017 10:56:06
@lwdawson - Wee Barrie will not be going anywhere for that type of fee. Hypothetically speaking, the money will not be used on the playing side. It will be much needed elsewhere. And yes I would have trusted MW to spend it wisely.

3.) 21 Jan 2017 11:02:16
In a word, NO

4.) 21 Jan 2017 12:29:21
I don't believe that mcKay will go anywhere right now and if he did would debate whether Warburton would be given all of the money for players. What is more, January is not a good time to buy as Warburton has said himself.

Lets keep McKay, go with what we have and make some pre-contact signings for next season.

5.) 21 Jan 2017 12:36:20
Wee Barrie is a decent player but a 6 million price tag is a bit far fetched considering his form this season 1 good performance against the other lot does not warrant that kind of money, just my opinion bears.

6.) 21 Jan 2017 13:23:24
Hypothetically speaking, if he went for £6m, I reckon £5m would be needed for 'other' commitments at the club. The club certainly wouldn't be investing the money on other players.

7.) 22 Jan 2017 13:21:50
How is it far fetched? He's our best player! Should we just let him go for **** all then?

31 Dec 2016 15:29:07
How long before our club spouts out some pish about silences to deflect the attention away from 60 minutes of dross, clueless football?

1.) 31 Dec 2016 15:54:30
The Daily Ranger are doing it for you just now.

2.) 31 Dec 2016 16:03:06
The start of the minute silence was a disgrace. But nothing can deflect from the performance.

3.) 31 Dec 2016 16:05:22
I must have been at a different game today, I thought we played well and could have got a draw. They probably deserved the win. But it was a big improvement on the last two games.

4.) 31 Dec 2016 16:21:42
Hooly78, you maybe want to retract that statement, it was one of your own doing the shouting.

5.) 31 Dec 2016 16:29:42
2nd half dislpay we were lucky to get beat 1-2 mate.

6.) 31 Dec 2016 16:52:16
I don't usually waste my time responding to celtic fans on a rangers fan site. But I will this time any fan that shouted anything during silence is **** including the celtic fans who were shouting.

7.) 31 Dec 2016 17:39:09
Hooly, its a Football fan site pal, this is just the wee rickity rangers corner on it. We know who you were aiming that post at. But you are correct, its shameful of fans of any club to break a minutes silence, but you have to ask why on earth it wasnt an applauded tribute, its the common sense thing to do.

8.) 31 Dec 2016 19:47:31
Bhampot, it was 2 separate shouts from your fans mate that started it all! Are you conveniently forgetting that twice one of your fans shouted the name during today's minutes silence! I agree our few supporters shouldn't have reacted until after the minutes silence! So get your facts right pal!

31 Dec 2016 14:19:56
If Warburton doesn't go the gap will only get wider and wider. A good manager looks at what he has and thinks about how he can get the best out of them. Warburton is persisting with his philosophy regardless of whether he has the player to suit or not.

1.) 31 Dec 2016 14:25:25
Hes a scared to drop certain players tavernier for 1 he's is never a defender in a million years. Haliday is not a cm. What does weir do in training the goal from the corner is a total joke.

2.) 31 Dec 2016 14:34:49
Tav is a joke at 2nd goal, and Harry not passing to dodoo is a disgrace, but I enjoyed the game.

3.) 31 Dec 2016 14:36:57
Why hodson never played is really surprising, can't understand that today, but wee Barry was superb.

4.) 31 Dec 2016 14:37:23
How does a danger man like Demeble get time to take a touch, let the ball bounce and hit a half voley totally unmarked from 8 yards?!?!

5.) 31 Dec 2016 15:21:05
The manager has shown flexibility since the Hearts game at Tynecastle. He has a philosophy but has prepared to modify it as circumstances require it. Think the last 6 months have been a big learning curve for the manager and that goes well for the future. The performance and result today was almost accepatahle and if selfish flash Forrester done the right thing and passed to Dodoo we could have got a point. The performance and result against SJ on Wednesday was not acceptable and the result of poor application by the players.

6.) 31 Dec 2016 15:21:32
@lwdawson - because the Rangers p! ayer ( Wilson ) who was supposed to be marking him was drawn towards the ball.

7.) 31 Dec 2016 15:39:48
The whole team ball watches and chases the ball as a group. Amateur stuff!

There are things the team does which clearly come from the management. The pass back to the keeper then pass out regardless of how much pressure we are under.

8.) 31 Dec 2016 15:40:58
The last 6 months, FD? Have you forgotten the last 6 months of last season?

20 Dec 2016 17:36:18
Seeing a few unwashed on here having a go at Garner. Saying he's only scored 3 this season so far.

Saying he can't score yet he's already had the ball in their net.

A THIRD of his goal tally was scored against Celtic! Haha.

1.) 20 Dec 2016 19:00:25
The great dembele has only scored 4 more considering he is supposedly a 40 million pound striker.

2.) 20 Dec 2016 19:20:51
Dawson, wow, your maths is great, now could you and cee now produce the total stats for both players up til now. I look forward to seeing them. Thanx.

3.) 20 Dec 2016 19:39:20
Bhampot? More like crackpot!

4.) 20 Dec 2016 22:06:15
Is that it. Away to bed son. Garner cost £1.8 million and his stock worth is falling. Dembele cost £450,000, and his stock right now is more than 40 times what we paid, at least. Go you and your wee pal cee do the math on that.

5.) 21 Dec 2016 00:30:16
So u reckon 20 million bhampot? Not even close around 10 is more like it.

6.) 21 Dec 2016 07:08:10
No bigblue, £10 million is what you and the rest of your fellow fans HOPE he is worth. This boy is seriously in demand, and you lot all know it. Tryin to talk down his worth is just petty blue tinted envy from a good few on here.

7.) 21 Dec 2016 07:54:30
There were people on your page saying 40 million squid ya bampot* try spelling it right* 4 more goals the great dembele has scored and he's played more games. The boy isn't even the best striker at Celtic park, if you think someone will pay 20 30 40 million pound for a guy who can't even scored every day for Celtic in spl and dives every match he plays you seriously need help.

8.) 21 Dec 2016 08:03:12
His stock will b falling too if he keeps drawing blanks against bottom of the league outfits bhampot! Especially as he's a one trick pony! Kris boyd banged goals for fun but wouldny get two bob for him :-) )

9.) 21 Dec 2016 08:10:50
The lad is a terrific talent no one can deny that but to say he is worth 20 to 40 million is a bit optimistic he is playing in the spfl where the standard isn't the greatest if he was doing as well playing bottom to mid table English premiership or top 3 English championship I could see where these figures come from but Imo if he does get sold it would be 10 to 13 million at most just for the fact he plays in scotland as it would be seen as a big risk shelling out the top figures that have been touted for someone his age who has played well for 1 season in the spfl premiership.

10.) 21 Dec 2016 11:54:39
TBH the goal at Parkhead was all Miller. Great head to back post which completly caught out De Vries (who is pretty woefull) Reckon the ball was in the net wether Garner was there or not so not really a claim to fame IMO.

11.) 21 Dec 2016 15:56:51
Guys Dembele`s worth will not be what he does in the SPL, he could score 30 every seaon for next 5 years and the EPL teams might still not look at him.
It will be what he does in CL that counts, against top quality opposition, and for France 1st team or U21s.
Look at Forster, VVD and Wanyama we would never had got 10-12m for these players for just doing it in SPL.
IMHO right now Celtic wudnt sell for less than 12m, but remember he is only 20 yrs old so he can only improve and if he does and still bangs in goals in CL then who knows what he will be worth when you consider Troy Deeney at Watford was being touted at 30m.
We know players are not worth that but if they daft enough to pay it we will snap their hands off when the time comes.

12.) 21 Dec 2016 16:17:19
Was watching sky sports Andy walker was talking about Celtic defence at cross balls after seeing clips they showed I think joe garner could do lot of damage against them. If wee mackay can hit his top game we might be bringing the bells in early.

Don't understand this one. The boy hasn't had a chance to prove his worth to the team, not to mention we need a defensive mid. We're playing Halliday out of position there and I can't think of any cover for him.

Hope he does well though.

A wee Google search led me to this 2016 article:

"Phoenix Suns Franchise, Owner Robert Sarver Voted Worst in NBA.

ESPN’s Annual Ultimate Standings rank all 122 major North American sports franchises on a variety of standards. The Phoenix Suns finished last in the NBA, and 120th overall.

The rankings rip on the Phoenix Suns for everything – their best ranking is 98th overall in affordability. 98th out of 122 is only good compared to 120th.

Is this fair? I am obviously biased towards the Phoenix Suns, but these rankings seem overly harsh. Here are the categories, and the Suns rank (out of 122). "

We won't have a striker who can regularly bang in 20/ 30 goals a season with this system. We could get Messi and he would struggle!

As for Halliday, he should NEVER be played at DM, so I have sympathy for him. However, he is played at DM and his performances there have been dire!

If they truly believe that then the management should pack up and leave! I could guarantee to challenge Celtic with £100m.

Bottom line is we are no better a team this season than we were last season. Who's fault is that. No one expected us to challenge but we wanted signs of improvement on the field.

What is the 5 year plan? To sort out our shocking defense in 5 years. To stop playing Halliday in DM after 5 years?

There have been a lot of mistakes made this season by the management because of shear stubbornness and burying our heads in the sand and saying how bad we were a few seasons back is not going to help.

Please stop saying we are currently 2nd! The sheep have a game in hand and can go above us on a fraction of our budget. Will it still be so rosey if they win their game in hand and we're actually 3rd?

Swany9, why bring up budgets only to say budgets don't matter when you're point is proven flawed by politely reminding you that we have the largest budget except Celtic?
