I'm backing Phil Clement right through this season and all the way through next season as well.

Said it before on these pages - this club has already blown through their 'fire the manager' cards for the foreseeable future with Gio and Beale. Moving onto our 4th manager since 2022 is not an option.

And who takes over? Someone here mentioned Callum Davidson . A few weeks ago it was Jimmy Thelin who was the saviour. Luckily the Board don't listen to people on these pages.

Last night was a low point, but I blame the players more than I do Clement. The game's done - move on. There will be more bumps, but for me, Clement stays all of this season and next.

7 of the players yesterday were signed by pc the rest are coached by him. How long do we wait, yes your point about sacking managers is valid but is pc the right gut to hang our hat on? Iv been back and forth but yesterday was for me the final straw.

2.) 10 Feb 2025 19:53:14
Pretty sure callum Davidson was tongue and cheek.

3.) 10 Feb 2025 20:01:56
I won't renew next season if he's still here, not going back for the rest of this season either until he's gone.

4.) 10 Feb 2025 20:17:01
Orange t, I said when he was unemployed, Rangers should have brought him in instead of Rae, Davidson has a football brain and knows how to get a team to defend

He would have been the perfect assistant manager.

5.) 10 Feb 2025 20:18:15
Good post Lazio.

6.) 10 Feb 2025 20:32:14
It was me I was being silly in the throes of my misery ??.

7.) 10 Feb 2025 20:37:43
Clement doesn't sign players koppen does could we please stop saying clement signs the players.

8.) 10 Feb 2025 20:38:48
More fool you. Monaco fans warned us this would happen.

9.) 10 Feb 2025 21:16:24
After a year and you still have people defending Clement. That's utter madness to me.

Apart from a purple patch of a few months under him there's no improvement since end of last season, there still isn't a clear style of play, his failure to consistently beat teams domestically and the utter nonsense that comes out of his mouth on a regular base should see him sacked.

Often talks about how other teams have bigger budgets whenever we lose old firms or European games but conveniently forgets our own budget dwarfing every other team in Scotland whenever we drop points

Excuse after excuse leaving his mouth after every dropped points, he can't take the blame for anything no matter what. He's spoken before how due to our scheduling he doesn't get as much time on the training pitch as he likes, well this week he had a full week to prepare the team for a game against lower league opposition and it's the worst result we've ever had.

10.) 10 Feb 2025 21:43:04
The Only thing I blame PC for in the cup is the subs. I disagreed with almost all of them. I blame the players. PC can lead them in practice but when half the squad play like that what do you do? Dio looked like Bambi on Ice and should have been subbed instead of Rice. I only saw a couple of players go for second balls. They just stood there and watched. I knew we were doomed by the 30th minute. The hesitation and lack of belief was so obvious. And do people expect PC to come out and name players that he think aren't trying? Even though he is stuck with these players? I get we are all upset and extremely let down but over reacting and wanting PC canned achieves what? No one we could afford can do the job better at this point.

11.) 10 Feb 2025 21:58:02
I agree Lazio.

12.) 10 Feb 2025 22:29:49
Rice was poor the opening 45, agreed with him being replaced with Raskin and was also happy Dessers for Bajrami and Igamane as a ten, Hagi also had a very poor game and got replaced with Yilmaz so i seen no problems with any subs Brad.

13.) 10 Feb 2025 22:41:44
Agree Lazio.

14.) 10 Feb 2025 23:03:02
I've been on the fence about getting rd of PC but this is completely untenable, I'd rather bring Ally McCoist back in from the greenhouse than let PC even sniff another six-eighteen months. This version of Rangers is in real danger of becoming apathetic.

15.) 10 Feb 2025 23:10:12
Agree Lazio. Yesterday will never be acceptable but PC put out a strong team. They thought they were going to coast through this game, the arrogance of the likes of Jefte who looked like he was trying to embarrass the opposition players at times rather than just play his game. Well he is the one who should be embarrassed for his defending at their goal.

Not sure the manager is at fault for Jeftes defending at the goal, Kelly lifting his feet as he fell back, tavernier for missing the penalty, Dessers for messing up the one on one and so on. The players let the manager down and in turn all of us.

16.) 10 Feb 2025 23:29:41
Mustcain pc gets a say on who. we sign if he said no to. a player nk suggested then that player wouldn't be signed.

17.) 11 Feb 2025 00:43:26
Agree lazslo and John I remember u mentioning Davidson. Good shout at time and maybe some will see that now.

18.) 11 Feb 2025 09:10:05
My star, how can you be happy with the subs?

Yilmaz being the main one, he has been rotten all year (except for 1 Celtic game) . He is a LB not a winger, he can't shoot, can't pass and can barely cross a ball.

Why not bring on Curtis, or someone that offers something to the team.

PC also brought on Souttar LOL. trying to win a cup game in brings on 2 defenders. WOW.

Brings on Dessers, a man that cannot score a meaningful goal (proven by his missed/ saved 1v1). Pushing Igamane to the 10 which is not his position and Iggy does not play well in the 10, as we have clearly seen from the last few weeks of games.

The fact the "main" players all played and still couldn't win, even with a soft penalty in the dying minutes, is a disgrace.

Not to mention they had a full week off prior to the game.

Wages should be forfeited or something because it's a complete disgrace.

16 Dec 2024 09:04:04
Any word on why Cortes wasn’t even on the bench?

Lazlo

1.) 16 Dec 2024 09:27:20
He's not played since opening week of season.

2.) 16 Dec 2024 09:28:40
Pretty simple not fit enough.

3.) 16 Dec 2024 09:41:01
Probably nowhere near fit to be part the squad for a game of this size, been injured for long periods twice now so I would imagine they will take extra care with him this time. I think when he played last time out he had an issue and played anyway which led to him being on the sidelines for a while.

4.) 16 Dec 2024 09:46:46
Similar to Raskin, club taking no risks with his return.

Honestly think he'll be a massive player for us in next year.

5.) 16 Dec 2024 09:55:45
Better to be cautious than end up injured by coming back to soon, look how well it worked with Raskin.

6.) 16 Dec 2024 12:10:51
Good to hear EHL. He’d been on the bench recently and you had mentioned they were trying to get him fit. Was hoping he hadn’t had a setback.

7.) 16 Dec 2024 12:26:03
Anyone any idea as to his injury record before coming to us? I'm sure someone said aswell we have an obligation to buy us that correct?

8.) 16 Dec 2024 12:38:39
No need to rush him back just keep him training then give him 10/ 15, mins here or there then hopefully by end of January he's up to full speed.

9.) 16 Dec 2024 13:03:46
Kingandulster - yeah, obligation to buy and contract to 2029.

10.) 16 Dec 2024 13:06:23
Yes King, zero injuries before Rangers.

11.) 16 Dec 2024 13:16:25
Not fully fit won’t be in the lineup until atleast after Christmas we will take no risks.

12.) 16 Dec 2024 13:33:12
I read recently that injury rates could be partly down to speed of thought and fatigue time so as I suspect if he came to our fast paced league then it could be partly explained. Then a re-injury always takes longer to heal so better to get it right and not rush him back too quickly before he is ready.

13.) 16 Dec 2024 14:35:46
Why was he on the bench v Spurs then?

14.) 16 Dec 2024 14:50:32
Angus, I'll be careful how I word this.

Under Stevie G we implemented injury detection software that took player data and could provide early warning of injuries.

Real basic example is every player does a specific exercise aimed at calf muscles and their output is continually measured - if they start to show a drop in a specific output it can indicate muscle fatigue and training can be adapted to prevent injuries.

Let's just say that the data that was being recorded over time dropped in quality, the knowledge of the analysts deteriorated and we became over reliant on the software - which is not a good combination.

15.) 16 Dec 2024 15:11:00
Scott there wasn't any chance of him coming on, if he's not on the bench he'd be in the stand we'd be getting him back involved.

16.) 16 Dec 2024 15:27:29
Scott manager said he needs to name 12 on bench, he said it was as a reward for all his hard work and helps integrate him further, he also stated he would not come on.

17.) 16 Dec 2024 15:58:59
cheers EHL on the explanation. I knew we used data but wasnt entirely sure how it worked. I also know data is only as good as what is put in and got out (SISO)

18.) 16 Dec 2024 16:00:59
The amount of fans who think football is similar to fifa or Football manager is unreal. Every player is different, physically and mentally. Like Dessers not taking the pen. I don't blame him the amount of abuse he's had just imagine what would have been put online if he missed.

19.) 16 Dec 2024 17:09:17
PC said press conference before spurs he could get small amount of mins in that game but he never got on so was never gona risk him in a game like yesterday.

20.) 16 Dec 2024 18:02:00
Did he storm ?.

21.) 16 Dec 2024 18:43:06
SWS PC said end of November Cortes was back in training but would be a few weeks before he would be ready to play. I knew I had seen as well before Spurs game that Cortes could play minutes and found the story in Rangers news where they quote that he would be in Spurs squad and ready to play but that it would be minutes though. so Storm is right.

22.) 16 Dec 2024 19:21:11
It was a bit of sarcasm Angus ?.

23.) 16 Dec 2024 19:25:56
Yup saw that too??.

24.) 16 Dec 2024 20:21:25
The methods of the staff are working IMO look at Danilo we were all wondering if and when he would be ready, Questioning why he was on the bench if not ready to play! He’s contributing more consistently, Yilmaz, Raskin, Souttar has played more than ever his current injury is different from the one he suffered for so long, Sterling been ready for more and more games, I’m more than happy to wait on Cortez if he’s gona come back stronger ??.

25.) 16 Dec 2024 20:58:19
R1, very true and a lot of work has been put in to changing the set up behind the scenes to facilitate this.

The keen eyed may also have spotted a lot of players have slimmed down on their muscle mass to.

26.) 16 Dec 2024 21:37:04
A few months ago everyone wanted the injured players out the door. Wage thief's, they were branded. Now it's cool if Cortes is forever injured because "look at Raskin". Couldn't make it up.

Rangers have an obligation to buy Cortes at £4m even if he sits out injured all season long. How scary is that?

27.) 16 Dec 2024 23:15:58
Clement, Cortes has only had 2 injuries and both at Rangers, same as Raskin he'd zero injuries before Rangers and both only young players, Raskin is turning into some cm.

28.) 17 Dec 2024 07:29:53
Raskin is a superb, young midfielder My star, absolutely no doubt about that mate ?You could see his ability when he was playing well for us when we first signed him until the injuries, he's a cracking no.6 ???.

29.) 17 Dec 2024 08:31:35
Walter yet u regularly have a go at storm re comments
Kettle pot black.

30.) 17 Dec 2024 08:37:11
SWS it wasnt sarcasm it was you questioning that he was telling the truth. just stop your petty squabble as it is getting boring. we all do it but it normally lasts about 5 minutes.

31.) 17 Dec 2024 08:48:38
Said the exact same on the banter page John, also touched on that very thing too Angus??.

32.) 17 Dec 2024 10:29:46
Angus don't think you're a mind reader mate, i can assure you whether you want to believe it or not, it was sarcasm.

33.) 17 Dec 2024 10:54:52
What about the other way round John, if you don't mind me asking ie. do you not read on here storm constantly having a go at me or is this just selective mate? ?.

34.) 17 Dec 2024 12:04:42
It's a banter site that appears to have some princesses on it? ??.

35.) 17 Dec 2024 14:47:52
Spot on Fork, meow the claws are oot ?????????.

05 Oct 2023 22:11:13
Based on that performance, it seems the team are not happy about Beale’s sacking.

Several of them, including Raskin and Cantwell, name checked Beale as being a big factor in them signing due to his knowledge of their game and his plans for their development.

What happens with them now? I suspect they’ll look to jump ship.

John227 - have you heard anything about how the first team have taken his sacking?

Lazlo

1.) 05 Oct 2023 22:22:42
Highly dout they will want out just because Beale left he’s Beale no Pep. They are obviously going to big him up in interviews if he’s manager when they sign.

2.) 05 Oct 2023 22:26:20
Lazlo if Beale has knowledge of all these players he signed why would he continuously play them out of position surely they know when they are not firing and playing out of position doesn’t help matters, all the players at rangers are on good money so jumping ship should not be an option but rolling three sleeves up and getting stuck in is the only thing they should be doing and restore some pride back to us, beale is maybe a good coach but not manager material imo.

3.) 05 Oct 2023 22:28:08
So were they happy playing under Beale for Aberdeen game?

4.) 05 Oct 2023 22:36:33
It would be more they don't know if they would be in the new managers plans going forward.

5.) 05 Oct 2023 22:41:17
Don’t know Gazza, some of his decisions this season were strange - including Euro selections. Just noting the fact a good few of these guys name checked him as an influence in their decision to sign based on his knowledge of their game and plans for development.

6.) 05 Oct 2023 22:49:23
Cantwell thanked Beale for bringing him to the club he is missed and I’m sure he will continue to play his heart out when he returns no matter who is the manager, Raskin has always made it clear he wants a big move so again it’s in his interest to play well for the new manager and as for the rest of the players if they liked and respected Beale and his tactics so much they would have shown it on the pitch, we need a proper manager who will organise the team and get them playing for them and the Jersey.

7.) 05 Oct 2023 23:01:56
If the performances pre sacking were the players showing their love for Beale then we’re worse than I thought.

8.) 05 Oct 2023 23:04:37
So they are not happy with him getting sacked? Have they told you this? since they're the lot responsible for him getting sacked! What a ridiculous statement!

9.) 05 Oct 2023 23:34:09
Defence was rotten tonight, more likely they know that if we bring in a quality manager then they will be at risk. As for his new signings, if I was one of them and any good then I would be hoping that we brought in a top quality management team that could aid their development.

We looked like we didn't have a game plan tonight just like we haven't had a game plan all season so the sooner we get someone in that can motivate and develop this bunch the better.

10.) 06 Oct 2023 00:24:51
Nothing to do with anyone being unhappy. They are just very very bad footballers and we are a very very badly run football club.

11.) 06 Oct 2023 00:30:19
bigbluejim - the players are responsible for Beale being sacked? Did THEY tell you that? ? Ridiculous? Take a look in the mirror son.

12.) 06 Oct 2023 01:35:17
Sorry but ??.

13.) 06 Oct 2023 05:56:05
Lazio Tav said the players were responsible for his sacking in a televised interview.

14.) 06 Oct 2023 07:10:03
Guys like Butland said the same thing. Beale met with him in person, and sold his vision to them. Butland couldn’t have spoke more highly about, Beale.

All of our new signings were brought here by Beale and he was sacked after 7 league games. I’m sure some are upset about it, I’m certain most of the squad have absolutely no confidence left, and I suspect many will want out - Especially with the circus that is still to come in the weeks and months ahead.

Ibrox is going to be a very toxic place from now until the end of the season unless things turn around very quickly.

15.) 06 Oct 2023 08:36:01
Are these not grown men doing their job that they are paid handsomely for?

Dessers, Lammers and Sima can all go, no problem.

Cantwell when on form is likely the best player in the league and will be looking for a move to England for big money for himself, no doubt about that, similar with Raskin.

Time is up for Tav, Goldson, Borna and Lundstrum. They have put in their shift in previous seasons but time to move on.

I would honestly rather play a bunch the youth players until the end of the season. It cannot get much worst and the fact Davis still played Dessers shows the lack of ability.

16.) 06 Oct 2023 08:59:36
I don’t care what the players think. That man Beale ruined our club. And if any of his useless signings along with a whole host of others want out I’m sure we could pull together on this site and drive them to the airport free of charge.

17.) 06 Oct 2023 10:17:59
Verdant there probably more shoked that MV managed to con them into believing he was any sort of manager. that's honestly the worst football in a very long time. Warburtons rangers would pass that team to death. Nicky law would run rings round cifuentes and lammers.

18.) 06 Oct 2023 11:07:57
If you come to a team like rangers and think after the results in the league that Beale Deserved more time then your a numpty 1st in the league and only 1st is acceptable no way he was turning that around no wonder players are no happy could be ? every week and still play.

What a week!

That performance on Sunday reminded me of the fight the Rangers teams I watched growing up had. Not seen that level of aggression in years and I loved it!

Excellent performances all around. Raskin goal and assist, covered every blade of grass. Tav with the perfect delivery for the opener and assisting the assist (?) for the second.

Souttar, Butland, Dio, Yilmaz. the whole team were immense.

Credit to BF and the back room team for getting this group in a place mentally where they can go there and do that.

Also really like seeing McCann and Dodds passion on the sidelines as some of you have said.

Last two games against them give us a 6-2 aggregate scoreline. Not bad at all. Hopefully the start of a new trend.

Lazlo

1.) 17 Mar 2025 21:14:43
Good post Lazlo mate ???Barry Ferguson, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor know what it means and takes to play for our great club mate ??I agree totally what kris boyd and neil lennon said in the studio after the match ie. that barry ferguson and his management team are giving our prospective new owners something to think about regarding the choice of our next permanent manager and that's all they can do and let's see what happens ?I'm not saying baz will definitely be our next permanent manager, but i most certainly wouldn't rule it out, that's for sure and i see signs the same for baz, when Celtic put neil lennon in interim charge allegedly until the end of the season and we all know how that ended up ? It's most definitely not a pie in the sky thought and it could happen ?.

2.) 18 Mar 2025 07:37:52
Sirwalter, we're you always in favour of Ferguson being the manager at some point?

3.) 18 Mar 2025 08:52:08
No Baxterboy, my choice was kevin muscat or kjetil knutsen mate ? I would however love jurgen klopp but i know that won't happen.

07 Mar 2025 14:31:51
With praise like this, the team need to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground!

" And former Real Sociedad and 69-times capped ex-Turkey ace Nihat couldn't praise the performance of Rangers highly enough.

He said: "I still can't believe what we watched. But let's be honest here - it should have been 5-1 and if Cyriel Dessers' shoulder wasn't as muscly, it would have been.

"Every top club in Turkey should be fighting to sign him. But there were plenty of others.

"Mohamed Diomande was brilliant - like the best of Zinedine Zidane - thank God they substituted him. And what a player Vaclav Cerny is.

"Honestly, the goals Rangers scored were like from a Playstation game - they were all so easy for them.

Lazlo

1.) 07 mar 2025 15:22:13
this is why i've said fir over a year we desperately needed a couple of strong scottish league players, the team we have here are developing nicely in europe, but are soft in scotland, very very soft sometimes, they just can't cope with the fight they will be involved in. neither iggy nor dessers could help us beat work am or meek, we needed grit a poacher and a strong man to push us forward at all costs, instead we substitute with more players who are great in europe but just aren't up to the battle at home, this is why we are second to everything, , we don't have that extra ingredient on the bench.

2.) 07 mar 2025 16:11:35
that was supposed to say beat qp, sm, or mwell,

3.) 07 Mar 2025 16:57:39
Thats what i said ages ago TT but we don't have the luxury now to carry a squad that size, Sir Walter had many players that just wouldn't get near the EU team but were almost played every week in Scotland.

06 Mar 2025 20:22:07
Excellent result - could have been 5 or 6.

Fully expect Jose to say tie is over - mind games incoming.

Need to put them to the sword at Ibrox.

No mercy.

Lazlo

1.) 06 Mar 2025 20:29:16
He said its not over in the post match however he did say it was a good reslut for Fener as it could of been worse.

2.) 06 Mar 2025 20:36:59
Fair enough - wouldn't have surprised me if he had.

3.) 06 mar 2025 20:47:16
first goal is everything next week.

4.) 06 Mar 2025 21:29:28
Tom, exactly.

5.) 06 Mar 2025 21:34:46
Think we will score next week but they are also dangerous when they get going.

6.) 06 Mar 2025 22:31:50
Excellent performance.

Dessers and Cerny unplayable.

Well done Barry and team.

I ❤️?? thursday nights.

27 Feb 2025 13:38:24
A good win at a tricky ground on an awful park.

For 60 mins they showed they always had the fight in them.

So what was I watching all season?

The players let Clement down, for sure, but they let the Club and fans down most of all.

I'm hoping Barry is able to hold their feet to the fire for the rest of the season.

No more sulking, cowardice, and cliques.

With nothing left to play for domestically, they owe us. Bigly.

Lazlo

1.) 27 Feb 2025 15:17:09
For half an hour it was horrible. Settled before half time and 2nd half was very workmanlike and desperate for a win.
Let's not get carried away here. it's a small step for us, but let's hope it's a big one in terms of effort and results.

2.) 27 Feb 2025 16:09:34
Thought we were excellent from the moment Cerny scored, as we played with a level of intensity, desire and confidence especially coming back from 2 goals down.
Not getting carried away but it's a start - 1 game at
a time.
Next up Motherwell.

3.) 27 Feb 2025 16:37:11
Bar a really good post,

4.) 27 Feb 2025 16:51:22
And better than workmanlike. lots of good play and the desire was the real thing. made Killie look workmanlike after the Cerny goal.

Lazlo has written an article entitled, Should Steven Gerrard Be The Next Rangers Manager?

Lazlo

1.) 23 Feb 2025 17:16:01
Just seen title of it and that's enough for me as it's a simple answer. HELL NO.

Ditto?.

3.) 23 Feb 2025 18:06:06
Going back in time like re marrying your x that you dumped for muckin about. never works . If he hadn't walked we wouldn't be in this state . and hiring beale. that was criminal.

4.) 23 Feb 2025 18:12:44
Me three.

5.) 23 Feb 2025 18:08:27
Wasn't an article Ed - it was a response to a comment posted by EHL.

{Ed033's Note - Ed1 left your post for me to see whether it could become an article. I think it was a good, thoughtful post. Looks like I chose the wrong title, my original title was 'Rangers players need to know their place'.

Bigging him up, really?

Not what I got from this:

"I know his history as a player for Scotland, for Rangers. I don't know much about his career as a coach, but I respect a lot the connection, the emotional connection between him as a coach and his club now. …You can tell me that he doesn't have much experience in European football as a coach. You can tell me all the negative things that you could find. I prefer to go on the positive side. I think it's going to be much more difficult with him as a coach than with the previous coach. ".

We've had a coach come on here and tell us same players carried out instructions perfectly during the week at training.

Then failed so badly during match day it led him to question the integrity and professionalism of a group of them.

We all watched the game and saw it with our own eyes.

Not sure how much more you want out with a signed confession letter.

If results got Clement the bag, then those same results should get Tavernier the bag.

Tavernier has led the team to serial underperformance over many, many years.

Absolutely shameful trophy haul during his tenure.

After all, it's a results based business. Right?

Ferguson will give those cowards a rocket.

They won't like it.

But that's just too bad.

EHL - not doubt the lad has talent and I'd like to keep him another season at Ibrox, but do you think Cerny is physically robust enough for the EPL? Seems to be nudged off the ball quite easily.

Well he has to do at least something right MyStar otherwise why on earth is he there? That last ditch tackle was a good one.

Captain Marvellous has led this team to an historic 4 defeats in a row at Ibrox. Another milestone and cv highlight for the lad.

EHL - very glad to be through but that was a shocking performance imo.

We looked nothing like the team that horsed them 3-1 going on 5-1 last week.

They gave us a doing last night.

For me, that's a question of set-up and tactics. Caught between holding a lead and sneaking the 4th goal?

Luckily Butland, Souttar and Cerny stood out on the night.

You say Cerny watches his performances back - can someone tell him he needs to release the ball earlier at times ? He must see that himself.

Thought Jefte, Yilmaz, and Igamane were poor. And Tav at fault for both goals. Any reason Igamane was chosen over Danilo? Could have used Danilo's craft and intelligence in our final third.

A weird one this morning - so much celebration after a loss and historic 4th defeat in a row at Ibrox.

We need to sort ourselves out before Bilbao.

Speaking of Ryan Kent - where is he and is he still a professional footballer?

Totally bizarre situation for someone who should be in their prime years.
