I'm a little worried about this Kenny McLean rumour. He's 32. Surely we can get better and younger. Why would we be pursuing McLean?

How much are we going to give him honestly little underwhelming to be honest. No disrespect to McLean. If he's wrong side of 30 whatever fee and wage over whatever contract potentially on offer, add it all up. Surely we can get younger with more potential?

Have chelsea taught you nothing this season?

A team of 22 year olds will do nothing, especially a team of foreign 22 year olds.

Kenny McLean is a diehard and is just off his best ever season.

Did you have an issue with davis coming back?

25 Jun 2024 22:10:03
Try telling the young Ajax team that got to the semis of the champions league.

25 Jun 2024 22:10:22
Tjs I completely agree with you we need experience in the squad and team and he's an option we can use.

25 Jun 2024 22:13:30
Tjs97. I mean, personally I’ve no issue signing Kenny McLean, but I’ve got an issue with signing any 32 year old for over £1m. I reckon he’d cost around £2m, and Leeds (I think) had a bid of £5m rejected last season.

So you’d think his value wouldn’t go down too much with a couple of years still left on his contract. He might have done well in the championship, but although he would do well in Scotland, IMO he wouldn’t start for us. Squad player at best.

If he was on a free, it’s a no brainer, but he’s not.

25 Jun 2024 22:20:24
If he's just off his best season Norwich ain't letting him go cheap especially with 2 years left on his contract.

25 Jun 2024 22:59:19
1. Fills home grown european quota
2. he's a good player
3. he's an experienced head.

25 Jun 2024 22:59:26
Baffles me that people think Norwich’s POTY in an incredibly competitive league, which is a far better standard than our league overall, wouldn’t get a game for us ? I’d absolutely welcome the addition of McLean to this squad.

25 Jun 2024 23:25:30
GC that's a totally uninformed statement. That ajax starting 11 had blind, tagliafico, schone, tadic and ziyech. None of whom were considered "young".

25 Jun 2024 23:37:43
The Kenny McLean one is a gamble given his age and he’s no Steven Davis or even close to his level. If it was a free transfer yes but how much will it cost to get him?

25 Jun 2024 23:55:50
We’ve literally signed 4 or 5 20 year olds so far this window. Why are people losing the plot at one 32 year old? I don’t get it
A big thing some fold are forgetting that one of the ways all these young players develop is by learning from older players. If there are no experienced players the team then how will the young ones learn or have anyone to look up to.

26 Jun 2024 00:03:54
If you look at the age of the players that have left vs what we have signed we will have a much younger squad next season… we definitely need a few more experienced guy in the squad. as I’ve we lose tav and goldson… then only balogun and butland will be over 30 at this rate.

26 Jun 2024 00:16:32
Sometimes you just need to pay to get someone in regardless of age he will bring experience and most other players have been free transfers so far - for every Kenny McClean at say 1m we get a Butland for free or a bassey for free - mcclean may have 2/ 3 years yet and contribute significantly - if PC wants him then good enough for me ??????.

26 Jun 2024 00:38:55
Doing what his mate Scotty Allan should have done and signing for the club he supported as a lad. He’s a good player and I see him in a Lunny role.

26 Jun 2024 00:43:30
Cosity is that the same league Barton was player of the season? How well did he do up here? He was only Norwich player of the season not the championship.

26 Jun 2024 01:28:46
My God 32 guy could have his best years here, davis, davie weir guys like greggsy all superb additions later in there careers n super experienced heads in our game
Mclean bring experience n a level head N know what it's all about to play for us.

26 Jun 2024 02:05:58
Signing McLean ain’t marquee or front page news no but he will be a good experience addition to the squad and 32 or not, he’s a Rangers lad and this move could well bring out another level in him. definitely a good signing if it happens.

26 Jun 2024 05:11:20
We had fans on here at the end of the season saying we shouldn't be signing 30 something players from the championship. And here we are welcoming a player that fits both I'm a little lost by it now.

26 Jun 2024 06:53:26
Lammy all good teams need a balance of experienced players in the squad too help settle the young players n bleeding them in n leading by example, n a knowledge of our game in Scotland
McLean would be a great candidate for this.

26 Jun 2024 07:01:37
So what kenny mclean is 32 years old so what, as has been proven countless times, age is only a number if you're fit enough and good enough that's what matters ?We had this same thing last season when we CORRECTLY imo resigned leon balogun, who should never have been let go by gio in the first place ie. too old, past it etc ?Big balogun correctly got another 1 year deal at 35 years young or whatever ?He easily still has a bit to offer and is still a good, fast, fit centre half ?I also thought beale made a big mistake letting the superb scott arfield go last season, as he would have been brilliant at coming from the bench to turn games for us like he was more than capable of doing with nobody in our squad capable of making those superb, very clever runs beyond the striker and had a good midfield goalscoring record with us ?Age is like i said, only a number and it's the proper mix of youth and experience that's more important in our rebuild ?.

26 Jun 2024 07:53:51
We can sweeten the deal by giving them Dowell and Cantwell back. By all accounts they've been told they can find new clubs! Offset a bit of the McLean fee by reducing the cost of Cantwell back to them.

26 Jun 2024 08:17:36
Ajax was a terrible about lol. they had plenty of players with experience. I’m not buzzing with McLean, but I’m also not annoyed with the signing. I feel ambivalent towards it. We do need experience. If we go into this season with a squad full of foreign u21s, then it will be a disaster. There needs to be a blend of youth and experience.

26 Jun 2024 10:59:11
Surely we want to build a team that will go on to dominate for years?
I believe PC has a long term plan and that is why we are following the young up an coming players with eventual good sell on.
If it means the season coming is a tough one bedding in I am prepared to accept that for a longterm success.

26 Jun 2024 11:04:58
Not a massive fan of McLean from an international perspective, so would be concerned if he's a regular starter in europe. More than good enough to contribute to success domestically and will be a leader in the dressing room that is a boyhood fan by his own accord.
