Have seen on a couple of rumours sites that - Rangers preparing to bid for Russel Martin. I bloody hope it is just rumour.

1.) 15 May 2018 11:57:31
Absolutely not a chance!

2.) 15 May 2018 12:09:39
Nobody that has seen Russel Martin play for us this season would attempt to sign him

3.) 15 May 2018 12:14:21
You better be joking. Please no.

4.) 15 May 2018 12:31:10
This better not happen. Terrible defender.

5.) 15 May 2018 12:32:48
please no!

6.) 15 May 2018 12:33:07
No Thanks

7.) 15 May 2018 13:03:25
No where near good enough. Should be playing league 2 next season! Terrible defender

8.) 15 May 2018 13:14:28
SHAFT 1690 ------ You're just trying to shaft the punters --- aren't you?

9.) 15 May 2018 13:46:43
I think Russell Martin is on Rangers Rumours hitting the disagree button 😂

10.) 15 May 2018 13:55:47
It's a non-story. It's based on Allen telling the press yesterday that EVERY loan player will get the courtesy of a conversation. Nothing more. Some sites have just done 2+2=5 and made up a fiction about Martin being offered a deal.

11.) 15 May 2018 14:51:02
Would be the worst news ever.

12.) 15 May 2018 14:52:28
No no no no no and just more no
I would rather play a man down that have him in he team again

13.) 15 May 2018 15:48:20
If we sign him we are doomed. Bomb scare of a defender. Previously we have signed older defenders and it has worked great but not this time. He's no daily, weir or gough. Jersey too heavy for him.

14.) 16 May 2018 15:14:07
He is absolute honking as a defender. He makes Big Efe at the Hivs look world class!

15.) 16 May 2018 15:22:08
I hope not he should be on his way back to Norwich and he could drop Jason Cummings off in Nottingham on the way past they are both not good enough

30 Apr 2018 13:41:03
I know you can’t just go by the betting but, I see that Graham Potter has went from 25/ 1 to 8/ 1. Are the club having someone else in mind just in case? If Gerrard doesn’t accept the job that would be a major
embarrassment for the club. I just worry that, if he really wanted the job, what is the difference with announcing it today and announcing it at the end of the week? Is he waiting to find out about what is maybe happening at the club (investment, changes to the board, etc)

1.) 30 Apr 2018 14:04:24
Odds change due to getting patterns. He obviously has had a lot of people putting £££s on his name lately so the bookies have reacted by slashing the odds.

2.) 30 Apr 2018 14:47:16
Thanks for explaining how betting works. I never would have guessed that is what happens. The question really was, why are lots of people placing bets on Potter if they all think Gerrard is nailed on to get the job.

3.) 30 Apr 2018 15:04:10
To try and win some cash would be my guess.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 16:09:12
Because it’s a gamble. If you’re willing to stick a fiver on it not much point picking the odds on

5.) 30 Apr 2018 17:30:14
Well shaft if that’s what the question really was you uttered no such words in your original post. Not even close. Poor attempt at a save mate 😂

6.) 30 Apr 2018 17:46:00
Better aff with 4 draws

28 Apr 2018 22:42:53
Don’t get your hopes up regarding Gerrard. He won’t be accepting the position.

1.) 28 Apr 2018 23:34:32
Ok then i won't, but wait there's a twist he will

2.) 29 Apr 2018 07:23:31
Oops shaft! Made a howler there eh!

24 Apr 2018 19:37:41
I know you can’t really go by betting but, Steven Gerrard is now odds on with most bookmakers now.

1.) 24 Apr 2018 20:38:29
No chance

2.) 24 Apr 2018 20:45:30
And Dave Kings at Anfield tonight. Means hee haw

3.) 24 Apr 2018 20:47:47
Gerrard has soft spot for smell. tic same as john terry cannot see him manage the gers but you never no in football

4.) 24 Apr 2018 21:46:59
Apparently king and gerrard went for a pre match dinner together at the art school restraint. I'm still undecided as to wether he would be a good appointment due to his lack of expiernce but it does look increasingly more likely.

5.) 24 Apr 2018 23:20:01
Gerrard would be just as absurd an appointment as Pedro.

26 Dec 2017 23:38:53
I think realistic signing targets could include:
Lasse Vibe
Adam Reach
Wayne Routledge
Andy King
Jordan Jones
Aden Flint
Joe Bryan
James Madisson.

1.) 27 Dec 2017 00:13:34
Aden Flint would cost around £10m. Premiership club's after him. We would struggle to tempt Jordan Jones just now.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 00:42:01
There is a difference of being rated at £10 million and a club actually getting £10 million pound. Not sure a 28 year old championship defender would sell for that amount. At the start of the season Birmingham bid £5 million for Flint and Joe Bryan. If he does go for that, then good on him. Remember Celtic said Dembele was rated at £50 million now they are talking about £18 million.

3.) 27 Dec 2017 02:36:12
To many drinks this Christmas shaft, Routledge is on approx 35 grand a week at Swansea. Aden Flint is wanted be bigger clubs than us we couldn’t afford him. Even players on that list like Vibe or Andy King we would struggle to sell. When will people realise we are still skint. We couldn’t tempt Aberdeen’s manager away from them what chance do we have of getting half these players. Kenny McLean is about the calibre of player we can attract now and will do until we sort ourselves out on and off the park.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 08:21:36
Free signings and loans cause were skint

5.) 27 Dec 2017 09:20:02
Why do people keep posting these silly lists of players we could tempt, we have very little money and if we are honest Rangers are not a club that would interest a lot of players we have became a circus we are a top six club and just that, until we get a board who can appoint a decent manager who then can spend what little money we have then kick some arses to get the best out of the garbage we have then we may get second, this is not an attack on Murty he has been hung out to dry by this board, they have appointed two managers who were not good enough then took six weeks to go round in a circle and give the job to our U20s manager, even Kilmarnock can do better they have a manager now who is second only to Brendan in experience and look how it has kicked them on, I think we can expect more of these dark days until we get some decent investment but I won't hold my breath on that one

6.) 27 Dec 2017 10:42:04
Seriously? The money that’s spent in England and you don’t think a 28 year old championship defender would go for 10 mill. Few to many drinks 😜 would take them all but they’re out our league

7.) 27 Dec 2017 12:49:49
When did celtic say MD was valued at 50m. You on the glue?

8.) 27 Dec 2017 15:04:07
I'd be looking at junior hoilett out of contract end of season

9.) 27 Dec 2017 15:50:40
rayman-all you mhanks were bumping your gums off after his first half a season playing and the price you were all shouting about was 50 million, shaft is only quoting what you all were saying at that time, you lot were all sniffing the old evo stick

10.) 27 Dec 2017 17:41:20
True blue u have a distorted sense of the truth, then again your a sevco fan u thought u could win the league.
Most were saying 25m yea some were saying more but only after some of the transfers down south like 50m for a 30yr old right back.
Truth is we will get what someone pays and my money is on 22-26m, then again if Morelos is valued at 10m maybe The Moose is worth 50 lol.

11.) 27 Dec 2017 17:55:28
Yip they sure were mr musa dumdbell worth 50 mill it was so funny i'm still in stiches with laughter after all it did win the best joke award for 2017

12.) 27 Dec 2017 18:24:52
rayman from real to Barcelona to man city to man utd now we have arrived at the mighty brighton you lot are delusional

13.) 27 Dec 2017 22:27:39
Moonhowling the night after the game mate?

14.) 27 Dec 2017 22:31:24
why do people continue to hit the disagree button when a fan genuinely says it like it is we are skint. not bankrupt but have little money. too many fans refusing to accept this . we need big investment or the rubbish will continue.

15.) 27 Dec 2017 23:36:32
Must be the drink but did someone call US delusional lol.
Bets joke of the year right there.

16.) 28 Dec 2017 03:09:21
IS that a spelling mistake with Wayne Routledge surely you mean Wayne Rooney 😂😂😂

Not sure how I feel being linked with so many young players. As much as I think the young players we have been linked with have a lot of potential, I’m not sure now is the time to be looking at so many young players. At this time we need experienced players, particularly in defence as well as an experienced striker and a creative midfielder. I would also like to see more new players arrive in next 3-4 weeks to give them time to settle in and play together before the European ties.

1.) 03 Jun 2018 18:37:08
Youth with one or two experienced players in the mix is definitely the way to go. Mc Gregor and Arfield already there.

2.) 03 Jun 2018 20:42:36
I agree, youth with a sprinkling of experience sounds right up sg street. Fitness sounds his thing.

When you look at the existing players who could play a part, most have scope for improvement or should be in their pomp.

Tav 26
John 22
Mccrorie 20
Rossiter 21
Docherty 21
Jack 26
Dorrans 30
Murphy 29
Candias 29
Windass 24
Morelos 21

I personally wouldn't get too hung up if he brought in a couple of experienced pro's.

3.) 03 Jun 2018 21:57:19
Andyskipcap - what about Murphy? another experienced player.

4.) 03 Jun 2018 23:41:47
I'm not a fan of these young players from other clubs on loan there coming from youth football that's not what we need.

5.) 03 Jun 2018 23:56:25
I would say the jury is out on Docherty, Jack, Dorrans, Murphy, Windass and Morelos. I hope Rossiter can stay fit. I think Rossiter is the one player I would like to see have a long run of games. We need players who are going to be up for games against teams like Aberdeen, Hibs and Septic. Players like Murphy and Dorrans for example only had decent games against teams, towards the bottom of the league, we should have been beating anyway.

6.) 04 Jun 2018 11:08:03
Agree with most of that except Murphy. Was our best player along with candeias second half of the season. Docherty I think will be good for us given the chance. Don't understand how dorrans got back in the team in his place as he contributed nothing when he came back

04 May 2018 19:05:09
After today’s news conference let’s hear: Let’s Go by Calvin Harris being played at home games.

1.) 04 May 2018 22:04:46
bring it on home to me by rod stewart

04 May 2018 19:01:52
There are 3 bigs games still to go this season. I hope the team haven’t been distracted by all the news today. let's hope the team can add to the big news by winning at the weekend for starters. I would like to think the players will be out to impress the new manager, and let's see a more competitive team on Saturday. BRING IT ON! let's GO!

04 May 2018 15:15:51
I think that McAllister might be a more important signing than Gerrard. Great experience to assist Gerrard.

04 May 2018 14:29:35
Gerrard wasn’t my preferred choice but, I and I’m sure the majority of Rangers fans and supporters wish him all the best. I hope that the board algo give the support and backing that he requires. Also I am sure that he and Gary McAllister will attract footballers to Rangers that previously may have been unsure about coming to Rangers. Do you think that Gerrard could help improve certain players at the club? I think Rossiter May benefit (as long as he stays fit), also maybe he could help get more from Windass. At the start of the season though I am sure it will be a very different team as to what we see until the end of the season. I have seen quite a few different rumours already (loans and permanent) including:

I’m sure he will be looking to make signings as soon as possible. His first few confirmed signings should give us an idea of what direction we are heading.

1.) 04 May 2018 15:07:43
if the rumours on McGregor are true it look like we are cashing in on foderingham which we should get around 3 million for. hopefully that will be added to the transfer kitty.

I honestly don't think we are that far away from having a good team. If we an get two proper centre backs with mcrorie acting as back up/ rotation that should sort out the defense.

if we get arfield and a good defensive player in we will have good options with dorrans, jack, rossiter, holt and windass.

murphy and candias are both good players on the wings.

strikers are a problem, I don't rate morelos but he might get better with time. i'd like to sign Oliver Mcburnie but I think we also need a big target man when teams sit in against us.

if we can clear the decks of the players not good enough like pena, herera, halliday, hodson, o'hallran etc and get in some good back up we will have a good squad.

I agree the board have placed Murty in the firing line to take all the bullets. Murty always spoke well and took all the flak at the press conferences. Yes, Murty is not a Rangers manager. But I think the board put him in a position where he was never going to win. The players he has are no where near good enough to challenge for the league. But if the players need to be told how to play when it comes to an Old Firm game, then maybe they shouldn’t be at the club. The players are professionals (allegedly) and should be able to adjust on the pitch to deal with what is facing them.

There is a difference between offering a high profile name the job and the high profile name accepting the job. Remember Gerrard still has not accepted the job.

I still think it is a bit of a gamble if Gerrard accepts. I do hope I’m wrong and he is a success. If he does accept, then he will have to get the season of to great start. Think he would need to at least win first 5 league games to get a positive start. I am also unsure about getting the higher quality players that we want. Yes Gerrard May attract these players but, will the board pay the money. Although I suppose if he is the new manager the this may attract some other investors into the club.

I’m sure that it would not only be Gerrard discussing things like the transfer budget available. I’m sure whoever he was to have as part of his management team would have had a say in the sort of funds they will expect to have available.

Just because he was a great player doesn’t mean he will be a good manager. I just think some fans believe it is a bit of a gamble and maybe think we need an experienced manager.

Great players don’t akways go on to be good managers. Our greatest player John Greig, didn’t have a great record as manager.

At the moment it looks like it is going to be Gerrard, with the reports of talks being held and some major betting firms now removed the betting for next manager.

Personally I don’t think this is the job for Gerrard. I think it would be a massive gamble. At this time we need an experienced manager. Maybe the board are thinking if they get this news out before Sunday’s game it might give the fans a wee boost before the game. However, if that is the case they could be wrong. There is no doubting Gerrard was a superb player, this does not mean he will automatically be a success as a manager, especially at a club like Rangers. If he is appointed, then I hope I am wrong and he does make a difference. If he gets of to a poor start, then the board can only expect fans to have more protests and stay away from games.

I agree. I think that Goss still has some serious potential. I think he just needs more game time to get his confidence back. He is arguably the best distributor of a ball in our squad. He needs time to adjust to the physical nature of the Scottish game. Do we try and get him on another 6 month loan to see if he can adjust? He wouldn’t be the first player to have a dodgy start to their career then turn out to be a decent player.
