So does anyone know if we signed Barker or was it just over-the-top journalism? Or are we stepping in with Kent on loan with option to buy?

1.) 08 Aug 2019 22:36:53
The deadline day only applied to England. Barker deal wasn't critically needing to be finished by today.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 22:40:35
Barker having medical and is nearly done. Seem to have admitted defeat in our pursuit of Kent unfortunately.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 09:39:47
Yawn. Ryan Kent is not coming back. Can we move on from this now?

4.) 09 Aug 2019 11:05:18
Gerrard confirmed he was doing a medical and signing. he's a good player ripped us a new one with hibs.

5.) 09 Aug 2019 12:00:48
I like what I’ve seen of Barker however I remember O’Hallaron tearing us apart in the cup at Ibrox and he turned out to be a waste of space.

6.) 09 Aug 2019 12:39:50
Agreed Stuarty. Jury completely out on Barker.

7.) 09 Aug 2019 14:47:10
Surely the jury has to be out on every player rangers sign, until proven otherwise? When you play for a club our size, that has to be the way, ALWAYS!

8.) 09 Aug 2019 15:25:40
Same people now doubting Barker were doubting Jones before last nights performance.

9.) 09 Aug 2019 21:36:07
Yeah getting boring now with the constant criticising before someone has even had a chance to prove their worth. Seen a post last night on here were someone was calling Jordan jones a one trick pony and that the rb for them had the reading of him, even though he was a real contender for man of the match. It beggars believe sometimes.

10.) 09 Aug 2019 22:21:40
Talk is Kent will be available in Jan for loan and buy option if needed when hopefully Euro money will be more forthcoming 👍.

Middleton to Hibs on loan - take a flying.

1.) 03 Aug 2019 21:07:36
Hello why, great chance to develop at spfl level, may even score a winner against them.

2.) 03 Aug 2019 22:28:57
Tell the Hibs to do one. I woulnt give them the time of day.

3.) 03 Aug 2019 21:18:47
Good move for Glen and Rangers.

4.) 03 Aug 2019 22:33:56
Why would we ever do any business with hibs.

5.) 03 Aug 2019 22:40:02
I’m over my dislike for Hibs, mainly because Stubbs has left and the current manager Paul Heckinbottom is actually pretty decent.
Could be a good move for Glen.

6.) 03 Aug 2019 22:40:14
The way that lot disrespected our club and their hatred towards us i'd laugh if they got relegated give them nothing and no one.

7.) 03 Aug 2019 22:49:01
Good move for Glen and Rangers. Can’t play against us, can play against them, undoubtedly makes them stronger so to me it’s a no brainier.

8.) 03 Aug 2019 23:14:21
Thought SG said he was going to NEC BREDA in Holland to help challenge for the league?

9.) 03 Aug 2019 23:42:20
My initial reaction is I wouldn’t give the steam of my white to the spoon burners
I actually think it’s not that bad an idea
Their manager is decent and could help his development while he could possibly help in games against the puddle drinkers
The bottom line is he needs game time.

10.) 04 Aug 2019 09:14:46
I wouldn't lend hibs a player.

11.) 04 Aug 2019 10:22:20
As fans we constantly say we are the best, we are better than the other teams.

Talk is cheap, it’s time to walk the walk.

Forget the bitterness about Hibs, Aberdeen etc and demonstrate that we as a club (inc fans) are above the nonsense.

If Hibs want a player on loan and we believe that it will help his development, they will pay him and SG thinks it will work, the all fans should support it.

If we act in a bitter and twisted way, we are no better than any other team.

12.) 04 Aug 2019 11:17:05
If it's Hibs then so be it he will
Probably never get near the first team at rangers unless he changes his name to kent.

13.) 04 Aug 2019 17:51:01
Think Hibs would be a good move for Middleton. Certainly his visibility to us on a weekly basis could be good for the boy. Believe there is a player in there.

30 Jul 2019 07:15:25
Anyone else heard Murphy to Well and Dorrans to Hull or Swansea?

1.) 30 Jul 2019 08:58:25
Did Murphy not cost us £1million pounds 18 months ago and I do realise he’s had a bad injury? Do we just let him leave on s free as a loan deal is no good to him or us at nearly 30 years of age🇬🇧.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 09:23:10
Murphy would be a loan deal, st mirren also in the frame.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 09:32:25
Another player we can't sell and manager doesn't want to use.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 09:44:13
Mac bow my understanding is gerrard rates Murphy, he has not told him to find a new club.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 09:46:47
I genuinely thought (given murphys form last year b4 the injury) ) he woulda been given a fair chance once fit again as he is a dangerous player for the opposition to deal with. sayin that, think the gaffer knows better than me lol.

6.) 30 Jul 2019 10:00:51
These rumours are stemming from Murphy not being in the full squad for all the games. The guy was out for a year he is probably just being managed back into the fold. He was excellent in spells before the injury. I'd love to see a fully fit Murphy in this team his record of goals/ assists is better than Jones.

7.) 30 Jul 2019 10:07:29
We only got Ryan Kent as a stop-gap for injured Murphy, if he can get fit he will be very much in the manager's plans.

8.) 30 Jul 2019 10:27:34
Agree jmaster but he needs to go out and get competitive game time or he won’t be in first team.

9.) 30 Jul 2019 16:53:02
Think a 6 month deal to someone would do murphy the world of good. Get back playing without the added pressure of having to win every game.

10.) 30 Jul 2019 18:19:14
I'd be very surprised if Murphy left. Fit and in form he's a first team regular.

11.) 31 Jul 2019 09:22:10
Murphy is a nice, neat and tidy winger but, for me doesn't have the work rate for a SG player.

Murphy himself near enough admitted getting back to fitness might not be enough as squad has moved forward.

28 Jul 2019 20:14:05
Couple of online rags say loan deal for Kent off the table - perm only
Don't think we really need him personally.

1.) 28 Jul 2019 21:13:48
Time to move on . unless we get a crazy bid for either Tav or Alfredo.

2.) 28 Jul 2019 21:27:20
There are other left wingers that we can get as well the Kent thing isn’t the end of the world never worth 10 million.

3.) 28 Jul 2019 21:37:32
Unfortunately that's the going rate down in england with a player of kent's ability mate.

4.) 28 Jul 2019 22:14:18
Just reading there that he’s deleted all things to do with Liverpool from social media.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 02:07:35
For me even if we get the fee what we want for Morelos and Tav I wouldn't spend more than £5m max the money could get us 4 to 6 big signings rather than paying £10m for 1 player. We have to be sensible in how we reinvest the money properly not over spend on a player who might not get us a bit of a profit.

6.) 29 Jul 2019 08:21:44
If gers do sign kent i think it would be for around £5 and £7mill with add on's

Plus they would not want a 1 off payment for deal there not a money orintated club who say give me the money now (incase we get paped out of europe early) .

7.) 29 Jul 2019 09:13:55
It appears that Kent is on the verge of leaving Anfield, as he has taken all Liverpool-related pictures off of his Instagram account.

Leeds United are among the clubs linked with the winger, and he has also unfollowed Liverpool on the social media platform.

Wherever he goes, good luck to the lad.

8.) 29 Jul 2019 09:49:58
No team in Scotland will bring in a Player for more than £5m in the current financial climate. I would say the the only deal possible would be £3m plus a 50/ 50 share of any future sale. He ain’t worth £5m in the Scottish market

Looks like his time with Rangers has past.

9.) 29 Jul 2019 10:01:08
I for one would love the boy back, he's only going to get better. We need to do it the Arsenal way, pay in instalments after we win the league and gain entry into the champions league. I still think we need a striker in because if Defoe or Morelos pick up an injury we have nothing to back them up with.

10.) 30 Jul 2019 08:51:46
Eh Mols! Celtic paid over 5 for Julien! LOL.

10 Jul 2019 08:35:05
Is the new defender Skrtel I wonder?

1.) 10 Jul 2019 09:34:26
No it’s not. It’s most likely going to be Simon Deli.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 09:57:00
Is that the same deli lad that's away to sign for brugge?

3.) 10 Jul 2019 10:18:14
Single fish, SG denied this today, check before you shout down.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 10:39:14
@op what has SG denied today?

5.) 10 Jul 2019 11:29:04
“Poured cold water” on the Deli move - sounds like a denial on this move to me. Looking more like Skrtel however this is not 100% certain probs due to finance.

So decent performance 2nd 11 against a leg breaker team in a kids playground surface 😁 So a spoon burner mate put this to me, if Liverpool had a minger of a first half of the season, unlikely but you never know, and Klopp got really pissed off and threatened to leave, Gerrard meanwhile was top of league and doing the business in Europe, would he go if asked by the Reds?
Well?

1.) 19 Aug 2019 11:51:23
Yes but purely because it is Liverpool, his first love.

Will be with us for a couple more seasons i expect though as we are the right club for him until then.

2.) 19 Aug 2019 12:51:46
Yes he would however I don't think Liverpool would approach him quite yet. They have the world at their feet and would likely go for a bigger name / more proven manager.

3.) 19 Aug 2019 16:00:44
Not sure DL, l think the high heed yins at Liverpool will be watching how Frank Lampard does at Chelsea before deciding if SG would be a good fit after Jurgen Klopp.

16 Aug 2019 23:26:03
Off the wall point, had this at work at lunchtime Friday, if you were to be stuck on a dessert island with 2 mandatory requests - forget the Technical restraints etc - you could watch one football game and one meal what would they be until you were rescued?

{Ed033's Note - Is the dessert island made of chocolate? :)

1.) 17 Aug 2019 00:10:19
2nd leg fiorentina uefa semi.

Maws mac and cheese.

2.) 17 Aug 2019 00:09:33
Rangers 3 - 2 Celtic - Scottish Cup Final 2002.

Lovenkrands 1st goal, Fergusons legendary free kick and Lovenkrands header to win it right at the end. Personally this game meant a lot to me when I was a kid, after seeing it at such a young age, supporting Rangers wasn’t just a hobby anymore, it was my life.

Pie and bovril.

3.) 17 Aug 2019 00:20:20
Rangers v celtic at xmas, Ryan Jack scoring and my homemade spag bol with a loaf of garlic bread and a whole packet of grand padano cheese. That actual day will go to the grave with me, my sons first win against them in the league. His first was the cup but i was hiding under the duvet in the penalties, when he screamed we've won I ran down to realize we've not won they just missed a penalty I ran back up till he really screamed, what a day.

4.) 17 Aug 2019 00:29:41
Rangers 5-1 Celtic. beutiful day and what a spanking we gave them. wee ferguson was outstanding. last meal would need to be the wifes front bit! What? Don’t judge me lol.

5.) 17 Aug 2019 08:37:25
Leeds Utd at Elland Road, truly magic night . So nervous in full week building up as was Battle of Britain for access to first champions league . Press build up all week had us as strong second favourites then bang two minuets in and big Hately scores a screamer . Then the goalie makes save after save and we score a wonderful breakaway second, honestly great days .

After that has to be a Chinese.

6.) 17 Aug 2019 08:47:50
3 days stand out for me Easter Road when we won the league I was fortunate enough to be at that game and Celtic park when we won the league. Tanadyce 9IAR what a night.
Not far behind that was the trip to Monaco when we won
Rangers on tour Simply the Best.

7.) 17 Aug 2019 09:31:04
I would watch CELTIC 3 CLUJ 4 and have a meal of popcorn and a coke in a plastic cup with a twirly straw 🥤.

8.) 17 Aug 2019 09:53:03
helicopter sunday all the way through and a publix chicken tender sub.

9.) 17 Aug 2019 12:34:21
Any game beating that eastend mob for me. The gazza hat-trick against the sheep, to secure 8 in a row. Brian laudrup's header at tannadice, to clinch 9 in a row. I was fortunate to have been at our history making game that night lauders header won us 9 in a row. To witness what it meant to all connected to our great club, ie grown men crying with joy (our great captain richard 'the lionheart' gough) bawling his eyes out with sheer elation! Beating them at the breezeblock boulevard in 1999, to clinch the league by winning 3-0,at their home, as neil mccann ripped them apart. The list goes on! 😂.

09 Aug 2019 22:22:52
great team performance, so the formation and tactical plan would it work in SPL against the defend or die set ups? 👊.

1.) 10 Aug 2019 02:54:00
The team will be changing constantly over the next few weeks/ months with Europe etc, you can see how Gerrard sets up and how he wants us playing, the key will be keeping up with consistency of performance as the team rotates.

09 Aug 2019 07:40:25
After the great team performance last night is this the formation we use for the "park the bus" SPL teams?

1.) 09 Aug 2019 10:15:17
The frustration of the games against the park the bus teams will never end in afraid we just have to hope we get better at breaking them down. last night was different because we played a side that was willing to have a go and not sneak a draw or win by sitting in and hoping to catch us out at some point as we push for win. We ll always look better against a team who believe they are on our level or even if the team is actually slightly better than us.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 13:47:40
Exactly, breaking down those "Park the bus" teams will always be difficult. I'd definitely take us scraping every single away league game 1-0 if it means we win this league! Home games (touch wood) shouldn't be too much of a problem 🤞.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 14:41:17
The manager has described what attacking options and styles certain individuals offer to the team, including Barker. He realises we need variety in attack to win games. That's what we have now. Certainly enough to break SPL sides, be that home or away.

This kit shenanigans is a real bawbreaker but as someone said all business transactions carry risk good or bad, thus risk is then assessed for mitigation should it go ars over tit as it has. Injunction won't allow these mitigation's media time but the board will or should have these actions in place in this case financial. SD business leads will demand recompense and leverage till the contract ends but the situation as before doesn't benefit anyone financially. Hummel as sponsor and paying any fees would work in law with a deal made with SD or its a case of years, sometimes 10 years in court conjecture and counter appeal. I would advise DK lawyers and commercial to eat humble and seriously consider all options - end of!

Not easy to watch that, Goldson should definitely be rested that's been coming for a while and Aribo today shown to be lacking in that midfield against legohead - Arfield should have been there with Aribo more in a supporting role. Naive play from players not up to that kind of game. Regards Kent, is he the answer - what about his consistency? The odd game of greatness is not enough.

Scotty, I’ve heard a similar story, the sticking point being would all parties be prepared to sit down and sort the contractual details out to suit all? Ashley from what I hear wants to screw us big time but his business leads want resolution, time is it on our side.
