Apparently our captain has been made an official offer to join Gerrard in Saudi. What do we think would be a satisfactory offer given that he is our talisman and skipper?

I'd hope for 6/ 7m for tav he's only 31 never injured has 2 years left to run and is the highest scoring def in British history, personally I'd keep him but gladly sell goldson.

I know he gets it non stop on here but Tav is our captain, top scorer at right back and in running for PoTY. I would expect circa 10 million for him as I don't see why we should take less for such an important player.
Goldson, 2 to 3 million at most. Just not the same profile or level that Tav is on.
If we got around 10 for both it would be fine by me. Both been good servants to the club and would let them get a last good payday in thier careers.

Only way that can happen if club have given him permission and fact we are willing to sell. but would be unlikely at this stage of season but if this is the case time to take Tav out of team although not deliberately he would be conscious of pick up injury that could scupper deal.

TT do you think if we had the best right back in Europe as our captain we’d have won anymore titles? The reason we’ve won so little isn’t down to Tav being our captain. And how many other captains in your lifetime have seen the club thrown down to the lower leagues for the irresponsible handling of our club? To blame the lack of trophies on Tav is just a witch hunt and not a credible arguement.

alloa, you appear to have deduced that i blame tav for not winning more trophies, i do, along with quite a few others, not just him didn't win
i'm saying as a top quality captain he's lacking in many things, that's my opinion, but i understand and respect some who think he's great, remember many of the great goals and pens have came against dross in Scotland, scarceky won an old firm game that mattered and along with his English pals he bottled the europa cup final, and the did bottle it, game was thrown away, just like this title, if that's what happens, so yes i admire the goals, no he ain't no great skipper for me.

Other players can score pens, dessers has 2 for 2 how many goals would he be on if he took all the pens? Over the last few years not many of our strikers have hit over 20 goals a season I think Alfredo done it once in all games in a season and he never took pens either much.

If the decision has been made to sell both, and I'm not a Tav hater or anything like that, then that's good news all round. We need a new start for next season. Both Diamande and Cotes are examples of what can be expected within our budget, then that's good enough for me. We need to change the menu. I reckon £5m or £6m for Tav, £2m or £3m for Goldson.

He could easily have stayed when Gerrard left but clearly felt he wasn't ready or that he wouldn't have won anything. I think he is good. But I remember a certain Mark Warburton doing well with QPR for several months with a few ex-Rangers in the line up. And I don't hear much clamour for Warburton these days!

Dyche. Not for me. You only have to know what he did at Burnley, his teams hoofed the ball up the park and hoped for the best. If Dyche comes in, which i doubt, we won't be watching entertaining football at Ibrox, similar to just now, only worse.
