Charlie Gilmour coming in from Arsenal. 19 year old, probably loan, not sure yet

25 May 2018 01:15:21
Hope we are no gny be bringing in lots of academy players from down south that's no use.

25 May 2018 02:03:46
Have you based this off his latest tweet? Posted a pic of Gerrard and said can't wait #letsgo. It's a known fact the boy is Rangers daft so he could be, just like the rest of us excited for the gaffer to get in the door. Don't think Arsenal will be looking to sell/ loan especially promising young talent until Emery has a chance to see them.

25 May 2018 02:06:06
Another midfield player, haven't we got enough.

25 May 2018 07:52:19
Aye we have enough midfielders but not enough good MF! Only two or three worth keepn though.
Mccrorie
Docherty (dury still out)
Candieas

Glad we have added Arfield and hope we can get another in, somebody to grab the team by the scruff of the neck!

25 May 2018 10:46:33
I've actually disagreed with my own post! Apparently he is just an excited fan. My bad

25 May 2018 12:47:44
Docherty is 20 years old man. Give him time to develop he was never going to be a star over night

24 May 2018 20:04:09
With West Ham releasing James Collins we should make a move for him no fee and. Quality defender would make sense could spend the money on the lad from Brighton.

24 May 2018 20:58:17
I agree Dobbs72 same no nonsense defender as Skrtel but not the silly cash needed.

24 May 2018 20:59:20
Would take Andy Carroll too
Best header of a ball in the UK

24 May 2018 23:15:03
Need to take an ambulance to the games as Carroll, good player that he is, just Can't stay fit. Not worth it imo

25 May 2018 07:54:30
I think we can as good a defender as Skrtl if not better fir a fraction of the wages, he's not worth what he's askn for imo.

25 May 2018 08:43:09
Andy Carroll? The same Celtic daft, Rangers hating Andy Carroll who is lucky to play a dozen games a season? Like Wayne Rooney, he has made his love of Celtic clear, and his contempt for our club even clearer, yet we regularly have posters on here talking about signing them. These players would never come to our club and nor should we want them to. But John Mcginn, what did he say when linked with us and Celtic? 'They are both massive club's. Did he crazily declare his love for everything green and disdain for the boys in blue? No, but we have many posters who, due to the family connection with Celtic, stating categorically that he would never come to us. I have posted this before; I used to work with his cousin; Warburton enquired about signing him; mcginn's response? Depends What's on offer; if the deal is right, I'll go. Now it's Stevie G¬ MW, I wonder how he would feel now if we moved for him? Obviously, the huge grey are Is, are we going to have the funds to do so? But my point is fellow Gers, listen or research what players have said in the past about us b4 touting them as possible signings - I find it embarrassing and a little bit desperate for us to be suggesting players who have openly expressed their hatred of us.

24 May 2018 18:11:08
Hey guys bored so thought I'd try come up with a realistic starting 11 for next season I'm going to assume by the way Gerrard said he wants his team to battle etc. I'm going for a old fashioned 4-4-2 realistic signings also but obviously it's everyone's guess who Gerrard really wants so here goes
Shagger
Tav Burke (west ham/ bolton) Alves John
Arfeild rossiter mccrorie Murphy
Solanke Morelos
I can't see Gerrard making to many changes to the squad and I think with the midfield a bit more solid looking and with good coaching Cardoso could fill a hole also isherwood may be signed from bayarn b team do think we need back up/ competition for full backs and if we keep windass I'd be happy he would provide us with good competition for a few roles but I hope Gerrard sticks with him as a striker/ attacking midfield he could play the false 9 or the runner in behind good player to have in your squad also if we cash in on Morelos then they have to replace him with either mcburnie or pitman both have good records with goals pitman may be the cheaper and more realistic financially but mcburnie loves the club and may push through a move if we show intrest as for the wings a loan deal for young Wilson looks almost rubber stamped and candias done well for first season but I'd cash in on candies and try blood one of our own Middleton atakayi Liam Burt and I'd like to move tav forward aswell if we get a good right back in sorry it's so long.

24 May 2018 20:20:14
Cardoso, really it would take some coach to turn him into a center half! This is a guy who celebrated winning a header

24 May 2018 20:23:42
Not a league winning team Joe but I'm going with you on realism here. Hopefully fingers crossed that Gerrard is here on the back of investment still to be announced and the realism can be upped to that of better players.

25 May 2018 22:36:14
I’d have to say a 3-5-2. Alves, Collins, Goldson, Tav and John as wing backs, Mccrorie Rossiter Arfield, Morelos and McBurnie up top.

24 May 2018 18:00:23
Why are so many folk on here so against us signing players 33+ we need a few players of that age that's know the game, just remember we signed davie weir, de Boer, caniggia they we all in the wrong side of 30.

24 May 2018 22:43:33
Not against signing anyone but millions of pound for a 33 year old is silly money

24 May 2018 17:56:15
Reducing all away support next season to 800. This is class well done.

24 May 2018 21:03:54
Griffiths will have to wave his tricolour on the Jeremy Kyle Show as no tickets.

24 May 2018 17:53:31
Hope the scum who sent video about digging up Davy Cooper gets found, even celtic fans are raging what kind of mentality goes out and does that!

24 May 2018 18:11:15
Disgusting waste of spunk whoever made that video

24 May 2018 18:49:44
As much as I dislike Celtic, you can’t lay the blame at their door. These people are just ordinary **** who attach themselves to Celtic. i'd be horrified if it was the other way round. Probably as much as they hate us also I’d imagine they’d be horrified too.

24 May 2018 17:41:41
Great news on the ticket revolution. For too long we’ve accommodated and went beyond what’s reasonable for travelling support.

Welcome decision by the board

24 May 2018 17:52:05
Delighted with this decision - About time
Can’t wait for the response from others supporters and clubs
I wonder if they will drop our allocation at their ground and risk losing out on revenues

24 May 2018 17:52:36
Totally agree. Time we started looking after our own.
Keep them in the corner. 👍🏻

25 May 2018 08:25:31
I’m delighted we have cut their allocation.

I posted on here after the 2-3 match at Ibrox and got absolutely slaughtered

Yes, they’ll cut our ticket allocation for the Girodome, but personally I couldn’t care less. I point blank refuse to give them my money

For those too young to remember. it wasn’t so long ago (1980’) that they got tickets for the West Enclosure and the section of the Main Stand above it

24 May 2018 15:35:34
Afternoon folks. Daniel Sturridge. Yes or no? Cheers.

24 May 2018 17:29:40
yes but we couldn't afford him

24 May 2018 17:56:26
No no no no no no no. Daniel Sturridge are you joking? He cost WBA £50k per minute! Honestly I’m trying to work out if this is just a wind up?

24 May 2018 17:57:29
Sick note

24 May 2018 14:36:13
Skrtel, Collins and Defoe age 33,34 and 36! Is this really what some fans want? It's no wonder so many Celtic fans come onto this site. It's for the laughs they get. I'm sure Gerrard would be laughing too.

24 May 2018 17:57:39
Correct Kfraser, too many people still playing champman and have lost sense of all reality!

24 May 2018 22:48:45
Defoe was born to score goals he would run a mock up here

24 May 2018 13:51:37
right transfare market opening up soon. people on here shouting players left right and centre.

for all we know, SG might only bring in 3 new players and keep the same team.

it's not that the players are bad, their just not organised or have the momentum.

if SG can get this group of players playing well then we might have a chance in a strong second finish, beat them at least once, win a cup and get us in the group stage of the Europa league. that's a step forward. if Brenda can turn over a dila squad that was ok to a team that's wining big. i do think SG could have a chance at that too.

bring in a.
Strong CB.
a bully technical MID
a goal scorer ST

have the rest of the squad work hard and play with confidence ( as at times they played amazing just couldn't finish of teams ) I think we could be a force again.

thoughts?

24 May 2018 14:11:23
I think we need 2 CB's, still hoping for Skrtel and A N other, Wilson looks a very likely loan we should be ok in mid, and a striker Mcburnie looks great. 4 signings 3 full time 1 loan.

24 May 2018 15:51:07
3/ 4 is abit tight if we get rid of deadwood.
Gk. Mcgregor/ Kelly/ Alnwick
Df. Tav/ John/ Alves/ Cardoso
Mid. Mcrorie/ Rossiter/ Jack/ Dorrans
Arfield/ Holt
Docherty/ Candieas/ Murphy/ Windass
Fwd. Morelos/ Dodoo (worth another year)

Move on fod, Hodson, herrera, moh, halliday, wallace (would take back if stevie g wants him)

Looking at that we need two cbs (possible 1 plus aiden Wilson) cover for both fullbacks, a wide midfielder (burt and atakai) possible promotion but need more quality in that area and also two centre forwards (hardie not convinced me) also throw in barjonas as what I've seen he's very tidy and a proper athlete

24 May 2018 16:46:52
With our budget it will probably be has beens or nearly men or freebies

25 May 2018 00:56:28
If SG has the contacts expected and his nose for a player I'D take his freebies.

24 May 2018 13:34:29
It won’t be the last deal we’re priced out of. It happens it’s business.

Who is going to turn their back on £60k a week (possible rise now) for a piss wet night at livi on a plastic pitch.

we’re no longer able to attract big names, it’s not the club it’s the Scottish product.

Can’t afford a superstar, then make them at Murray park. Invest and secure the cream of Scotland’s crop.

We move and follow on regardless

24 May 2018 13:24:23
SFA director hitting out with derogatory comments about Rangers fans, open top bus parades, Glasgow City Council paying for ‘Celtic Way’ outside the ground. Celtic’s board has a history of Labour and Conservative MP’s as members.

The list goes on.

Who is really the establishment club in this country? Case closed.

24 May 2018 11:44:45
Hi fellow bears, what do you all think of the story breaking this morning about gary hughes, the sfa director who was part of the ruling board that put us down, and his his comments calling us "the great unwashed"?

24 May 2018 11:54:24
Pathetic comments from a pathetic little man. He is just one of many rangers haters in positions of authority in scottish football and at scottish clubs who will take every opportunity to do us harm. Never forget.

24 May 2018 12:08:45
Bit rich coming from a manky mob supporter who’s own fans complain about the smell of there own fans 😂😂

24 May 2018 12:18:46
Normally I couldn’t care less about hearing us being called the great unwashed especially as the comment was made years ago. However now with the SFA looking again at the Rangers UEFA licence from 2011 dragging up the past all over again this has changed my views on this matter.
Gary Hughes must be held accountable for his comments and be fired.
Remember Hugh Dallas was fired as an SFA employee for forwarding an inappropriate email. In that context what Hughes has done is worse as the comments are accountable to him alone. Hughes should go.
will he be fired I very much doubt.

PS while talking about SFA. Scott Brown now confirms that Celtic are not only the sorest losers in the history of football but now the sorest winners.
The SFA didn’t water the Hampden Pitch at halftime to try and stop Celtic winning. Utter crap! Delusions of grandeur. Over The Years we’ve had accusations of referee bias, a private detective hired to check whether a referee is a Mason Now we have Hampden maintenance staff deliberately trying to deny Celtic a double treble by making the pitch more suitable to Motherwell style of play.
Paranoia is still alive and well in the East End Of Glasgow it seems.

24 May 2018 12:25:02
Who cares, twelve years ago. He will be voted out in next election. Let's concentrate on what we do

24 May 2018 12:59:07
I care I'm fed up with the never ending kicking we get of the shoe was on the other foot you can be sure action would be taken

24 May 2018 13:55:14
I hear the 'great unwashed' and similar being used by many on here. Maybe some of them will be in positions of authority in 12 years time. Should they have to justify then what they had said when they were in primary school?

24 May 2018 16:20:15
Well STYAB, quite simply yes. If an employer looked at your social media history after an interview and saw such things they would never give you the job, especially a position of such responsibility requiring absolute fairness and impartiality.
Also, this guy was clearly not in primary school so that's just a waste of a comment.

24 May 2018 17:56:25
I’d sue him for £100 million🤪

24 May 2018 10:26:15
The hysteria in the press is continuing. They know absolutely nothing about Rangers and Gerrard's plans to sign players, nor do they know the situation regarding new finance coming to Rangers. We should all calm down and not make assumptions. How do we know Skrtel was ever going to be a signing target anyway? I'm looking forward to SG taking the reins on 1st June, then we'll see.

24 May 2018 10:41:08
O’dear. let’s not bury our head in the sand, Skrtel was a target who we were priced out of, (no doubt we knew this when realising information to the press that we looking at him) however a bit of press while selling season tickets after a disappointing season is never a bad thing!

24 May 2018 10:52:29
Ridiculous statement to make his agent has said what was offered a 5th of what he is on currently and Dave king didn't want to pay a fee where they want 5 million

24 May 2018 11:03:03
Dave king isn't going to pay over the odds for a 34 yr old with a year left on his contract and pay him rubbish loads then not get any resale value . rangers should be going down the morelos road buy in young promising players to sell on

24 May 2018 11:22:42
How about James Collins? Released from West Ham. I know he's 34 but surely worth a season or 2?

24 May 2018 11:39:07
He’d 100% shore up our defence.

24 May 2018 11:59:48
Agreed. Big Collins would do us a turn for a earn at least

24 May 2018 12:22:20
I would like Skrtel to sign but not at any price. The figures that are getting banded about for a 33 year old for fee and wages are a joke. I would be more worried if we caved in and paid what they want. Think we should move on and look elsewhere.

24 May 2018 12:25:59
His club didn’t want him to go so priced him at 5m. Rangers were willing to pay just over half of that and after sounding his agent out they believed a salary could be achieved. They were never going to match his current earnings but he’s now been made aware of other options where he can actually increase his salary. Unfortunately this was SG first choice CB and deal is dead. It won’t be the first player we try to get and be priced out of it and thus happens at every club so it’s not a board failing.

24 May 2018 23:01:38
@hollow55 - nearly 40000 season tickets sold before we were even in for Skrtel so you are talking Tom Kite when saying it was a marketing ploy.
Remember we sold 30000+ season tickets when Sandaza was our ‘ big name signing ‘! 😂
One thing about Rangers fans we always back the team in huge numbers.
P. S. What do celtic fans and Rangers fans have in common?
They both buy season tickets to guarantee to see The Famous Glasgow Rangers👍🔴⚪️🔵👍

24 May 2018 10:01:55
No skrtle
No defoe etc etc

As i do every season i read the guff this player that player coming to ramgers
As i said before and done for many years i do not belive any rumour and things press say untill it is announed or some one is paraded holding scarf aloft by RANGEES FC.

24 May 2018 09:55:48
we need to stop looking to england for a start. bloated wages no matter who you get.
try look for bargains in Seria B or look to denmark holland sweden were we have traditionally done well.

24 May 2018 09:35:46
We surely have to be looking at Caulker? He must know Gerrard from his time at Liverpool and seems a cracking defender far to good for Dundee, can't see transfer fee and wages being a problem either, plus McCann being ex rangers you'd like to think he's sell to us.

24 May 2018 09:22:03
Now that the Skrtel deal is apparently off I would take a punt on Berra! Wouldn't cost much and was easily the best CB in Scotland last season! He might not be a stellar signing but he would be a vast improvement on what we already have including Alves! He'll be on holiday till January after the World Cup 😂.

24 May 2018 09:44:08
Big bruno alves has played with much higher class teams than martin skrtel, with the exception of Liverpool! Alves has also accumulated much more international caps for a much higher ranked country in Portugal, than skrtel has with Slovakia! I'd keep alves as opposed to going for skrtel anyway!

24 May 2018 09:52:16
Totally agree. Alves can still do a great job, just need another good CH to compliment what he bring.

24 May 2018 10:24:14
Alves at this stage in his career does not have the fitness and physicality to play in Scotland for us. Don’t believe he will play any more than 12 games this season. Either one of the Souter boys together with a proven and experienced CH would be a start. Hopefully SG knows his man and is working on it.

24 May 2018 10:42:03
Alves doesn't have the physicality or fitness to play in Scotland but he is going to the world cup with Portugal. You must be having a laugh

24 May 2018 11:05:36
Albes going to World Cup as experienced back up, same role he has at Ibrox.

24 May 2018 12:25:55
Alves playing Central in a 3 man defence would be class.
It's apparent that we still have a squad more suited to a 3-5-2 than any other system.
Been saying this for over 2 years and finally Jimmy Nichol had the sense to play this system when we went 3 down to hibs.

24 May 2018 12:29:47
Alves will be gone, We need his wages to re invest into team. I still believe Windass, Fod and Tav will also be sold for a decent fee to also be re invested. I think Tav would be a loss.

24 May 2018 08:39:06
First time Post but I was wondering what you guys thought about going for Florian Kamberi. A bit more in our price range and has showed up to be good in our league!

24 May 2018 10:29:13
Think IAH we are getting lot smarter in spreading our wings looking for better talent European wide and beyond. There are high profile examples already there.

24 May 2018 08:31:48
Hey. So after speaking to a mate about what our realistic expectations are for next season and what we would class as improvement/ success from SG. This being talked about in the terms of SG bringing in some of the more realistic signings not skrtel, defoe or the likes.
Personally I would accept 2nd place, a cup final with a run in europe as a bonus. don't get me wrong I want more but its not what I want its what I would class as enough proof that the following season he would improve more and obviously my expectations would be higher. My friend said atleast a trophy, 2nd place and into groups in europe.
What are your takes on what you expect/ hope for next season.

24 May 2018 08:39:29
Forget group stages in Europe. Have a look at the teams we’d need to beat in the 2nd qualifier never mind 3rd and 4th.

24 May 2018 09:34:53
It would be easier to win the league than go on a run in Europe. In fact, imo it's harder to get from the qualifiers to the group stage than it is to get from the group stage to, for example, the quarter finals. The league won't be easy but i think if we put c****c under any sort of pressure next season, Brenda will bottle it.

24 May 2018 10:12:19
I love the Brendan will bottle it comments. was it not super Stevie G slipping that cost Liverpool the title rather than BR bottling it. PMSL

24 May 2018 10:31:44
Aye markiebhoy this will be the 3rd season meltdown or the impending timplosion they keep banging on about hh

24 May 2018 12:41:54
oh mankybhoy. another ill informed troll

think you will find that is brendas inept tactics against palace throwing away a 3 nil lead that cost title. the gerrard slip in previous game didn't end title challenge. would still have won league without Brenda blowing the 3 nil league. so pipe doon troll

24 May 2018 13:23:08
jbf500.just for your information Brendan wasn't actually playing when they let a 3 - 0 lead slip away, pretty sure MR SG would have been though. so who's bottle crashed, the manager or the superstar players actually on the field. answers on a postcard to DOUBLE TREBLE. HISTORY MAKERS.

24 May 2018 14:23:45
Think you meant tainted double treble history makers what a joke bragging about winning three trophy in a one horse race wait till the usual timplosion in europe then we can see how good brenda is and Broony comes out with grass too long, not wet enough UEFA are against us what a fud he is

24 May 2018 20:55:33
Markiebhoy you are playing a blinder confirming the lack of intelligence in the stands ar Celtic Park

My comment states Brenda tactics bottled it. as he does not have the tactical nous to change when needed

Ofcourse you will state his tactics beat us and rest of scotland. but no great feat when we had pedro and murty in charge

Keep drinking the koolaid and one day tou might make sense

Until then enjoy the 7 (3 that count)

24 May 2018 22:49:23
So many wee bhoys so confident that they'll keeping monopolising success that they spend their time trolling on here. Oh dear, oh dear. How utterly wretched your miserable lives must be :^)

Review Of The Day 24th May 2018

24 May 2018 07:09:30
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 24th May 2018

24 May 2018 06:29:35
According to reports in the press the skrtel deal is dead due to wage demands. So let's all calm down and not get into hysterics about this. We cannot and will not be held to ransom by any player over wages. We just move onto the next target.

24 May 2018 08:02:04
I don’t think it’s being held to ransom. The guy is on £60,000 a week and we can’t get near half of that. if that’s the case why even bother in the first place.

24 May 2018 08:36:42
totally agree colster. We don't have the money for that so look else where. We need a bates but with pace and ability to pass from the back. There are young guys down south who could fill that void and am sure allen and gerrard can find them. I would rather they paid top dollar for a young player who will have sell on value. We always used to have top top defenders we found and sold on. that's what we need to try and get back.

24 May 2018 08:48:04
We need a Bates but with pace and ability to pass out of the back? So really we need anyone but Bates by sound of things that's like saying my putt was perfect apart from line and pace!

24 May 2018 09:31:21
No its like saying if Bates had real pace and could pick a pass from the back we wouldn't have let him go as he would have been worth his wages.
