Rumour is that Kent has signed new deal. Same with Lundstrum. Anyone heard anything?

1.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:10:29
Hopefully Lundstram but Kent should be moved on.

2.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:19:05
I think it’s time for both to move on we need to freshen this team up.

3.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:21:18
Absolutely against that, Kent has done nothing to merit a new contract. Or is he doing a Goldson- resign because no one else is interested?

4.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:23:47
Well, it'll be the same players who've proven time and time again they are not good enough next season then if that's the case.

5.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:24:17
Told last week Lundstrum offered new deal.

6.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:26:17
??????? not a chance.

7.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:37:05
I’d be surprised is kent signed a new deal. think he will definitely be heading back down south.

8.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:40:04
No to Kent. Unless he’s on a lot less money and being retained for selling soon. He’s blown his chance otherwise and won’t move us forwards.

9.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:44:39
Rumour where? Havnt seen or heard anything regarding kent, Lundstram i can understand to a point, only a year left on his deal.

10.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:46:11
I hope not, unless it is so we can get a fee for him.

11.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:57:04
Work colleagues a diehard Sheffield Utd fan. Asked their opinion on Lundstrum. They reckoned he would play his heart out to solidify his place in first team then be a passenger for months until dropped again. That rings slightly true for me. Guy has talent etc but I wouldn’t have him as a starter. Good squad option.

12.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:59:17
Would be disappointed if Kent signed a new deal - honestly think we can recruit better.

Lundstrum I'm on the fence with that one, as he's been nowhere near his best, but not sure of that's due to playing with an injury.

13.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:00:44
Lundstrum has been average almost all the time he’s been at Rangers. He had a good six months perhaps but beyond that it’s not been great. I can’t see why the club would offer him a new deal. In fact, in Lundstrum was out of contract this summer I would fully expect us to release him. We need better, we need fresh faces, we cannot keep the same players for next season and expect a different result.

14.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:15:32
Personally I'm of a mind that we get rid of both but two players extend Thier contract even if we sell on cheap in a year's time.

15.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:17:23
Basically saying this is what he does, find that strange he was injured a good part of this season, he isn't doing that in my opinion so he goes of the boil when he chooses i ok then.

16.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:31:53
Kent could still be a big player for us. And cheaper than trying to bring in a replacement.
Needs to be challenged for his spot though, shouldn’t be an automatic starter.

17.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:36:11
I think Lundstrum has the ability to be a solid CM for us. He is good on the ball and protects the back 4 well. I think he is a confidence player in the sense that when we are strong and playing well he will dominate for us but struggles when confidence is low. I think with better players he has the ability to move up a few levels and match the quality that will come in. His versatility could also come in handy. He can play at the back when needed.

18.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 20:41:10
Hopefully kenty has or does sign new deal.

19.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 21:00:43
In fairness, word is, Lundstram has been struggling with injuries but last few games he's been solid enough. Kent I heard had bought a bigger house on outskirts of Glasgow. Could be some truth in it.

20.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 21:23:24
Hopefully kent never kicks a ball for rangers again.
He’s an absolute waste of a jersey going forward. Off the ball and defensively he does put in a shift and he does have a decent number of assists this season. Think it’s 11? Not enough goals and not good enough in general open play ie his all round game. Time to move on from him and Alfredo. The boy palma whom I believe I was first to post we were looking at is more the type of attacking winger we need.
I’ll never understand why we spent so much money on Kent and why we never cashed in when some were interested for decent money.

21.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 21:41:04
No one interested in Goldson patter still getting says about Goldson lol why are our fans so hate filled about our own players. If Goldson was without a club, he would be snapped up same as big balogun.

22.) 11 May 2023
11 May 2023 21:43:12
I think there's some truth to the Kent deal because while Beale was mentioning Alfie being off, i reckon he would've said the same about Kent. Perhaps with a better team around him, he'll get the form back that he had when he was on loan.

23.) 12 May 2023
11 May 2023 23:26:49
I would like both to stay - will cost more to replace - definitely needed for the squad imo ??????.

24.) 12 May 2023
11 May 2023 23:37:19
I was told a few months back Kent is doing a Goldson running down his contract and re-signing on the 1st July as a free. With Goldson if he signed a new deal we would have to include a sell on fee and pay Brighton £750000 I was led to believe its similar to the deal we have with liverpool if Kent signs a new contract I don't know how much truth there is in it guess time will tell.

25.) 12 May 2023
11 May 2023 23:43:46
Kent’s rubbish and he’s playing games to get more money, i very much doubt he’s got many big clubs chasing his signature. I hope he leaves his numbers are garbage just compare him with a decent wide player like jota at the piggery it’s a non contest! He’s meant to be a £7m player he’s not improved at all in fact he’s gone backwards get him out!

26.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 00:30:49
Im not going to be shocked when Kent signs a new contract, Doesn't deserve it but if we genuinely sign someone that gives him competition and we can rotate and manage minutes I'm not too fussed honestly.

27.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 00:39:06
Lundtram, Kent and Jack will all sign new deals. Not signed yet but it is agreed.

28.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 01:50:22
Re-Signing Kent is a smart move, 2 possible scenarios, he rediscovers his best form, with another LW perhaps Matondo or Ishaka to compete for 1st place.
If he still plays average we can cash in and recoup somw doe.
He is still ourmost valuable player at 12mill euros, was at 15mill euros when in his best form.

Lundstrams worth 7mill euros and should be resigned on a 1 year extension then sold 2 yr extension for Jack then sold too, both sales should to help fund the Gilmour deal.
Who is beter midfielder then both Jack and Lundstram.

29.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 03:39:22
Buzzing if kent signs a new deal looking forward to him continuing with his high quality numbers of 5 goals in 2 season. What a player.

30.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 03:48:58
LH gilmour ain’t coming to us it’s not happening.

Also kent better not be anywhere near ibrox next season.

31.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 04:11:05
The only positive of kent signing a new deal is we sell him before he can run deal down and recoup some money. He brings nothing to the side.

32.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 07:33:28
What concerns me is we have a major rebuild on our hands and as it stands we 9 players who we can part way with at the end of the season.

Appreciate it's all rumours, but so far we're -

1. Attempting to make the Tillman deal permanent.
2. Offering Jack a new deal
3. Offering Arfield a new deal
4. Offering Wright a new deal
5. Offering Kent a new deal

If we're not careful, we will end up repeating our mistakes from last season.

33.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 07:40:52
So I thought Kent had to wait until his contract expires or we have to pay Liverpool an up lift £££ if he resigns before the expiry .
Imo Kent’s is offski.

34.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 07:42:53
Forgot to add rather resign Kent then he leaves for heehaw .

35.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 08:30:40
If Kent does sign a new deal then it would be idiotic from the board to not let his contract run out then re sign him as a free agent as that will mean there's no sell on clause to liverpool.

{Ed001's Note - no it doesn't. Where does this nonsense come from? It is total bull. People are so gullible as to believe this kind of clickbait nonsense. Of course it won't affect the contract between the two clubs, it is utterly unrelated.}

36.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 08:55:22
Lundstram should be shown the door, he's been brutal for all but a few games since signing. Best on Earth song for him is nothing short of embarrassing. I would be wary of Kent signing a new deal as well, he's not shown any form to make this worthwhile, but I do believe that he adds value to the squad in some respects. I would certainly have him before any other wide player currently on our books.

37.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 09:08:46
How is it unrelated? If Kent’s contract expires he will technically be a free agent again. He’s free to sign for any club and nobody would be entitled to a percentage or a sell on fee. If he decided to put pen to paper with Rangers again it would be a completely new contract.

{Ed001's Note - I give up, if people are stupid enough to believe this rubbish, then there is no hope. His contracts are nothing to do with the contract between Liverpool and Rangers, it really isn't difficult to understand, but go right ahead with this deluded rubbish. I am just going to sit back and laugh at the crap that some people believe.}

38.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 09:09:26
Lundstram been playing with an injury this season. Hopefully has a good pre-season and at least he gets what it means playing for us. Is a major re-build required? Yes but we can’t clear out the whole team. Still need good squad players that possibly won’t play every week but help bed new players in and arfield/ Jack fit that bill. Why so difficult to understand?

39.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 09:49:06
Ed001 I have no idea how sell o clauses work and don't know if you're right or wrong.
I have tried to find out and this is what a Google search comes up with.

The clause could be agreed to expire after a certain period of time – for example, the length of the player's first contract with his new club – after which it will no longer be in effect.
This is from this is Anfield.
As none of us know the exact terms of the sell on clause for Kent then for me it's a case of wait and see.

{Ed001's Note - the details are logged with FIFA's TMS. This is Anfield might not have a clue, but the TMS does. This is Anfield is just a fan's blog, they are nothing more, so not sure why you would pick them.}

40.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 10:21:37
All the previous talk about clubs wanting Kent - no one wants Kent especially not Burnley Leedscwere the only ones interested in him and that was from Bielsa - he has been waiting fir clubs to come for him as he thinks he's a better player than he is - that's why he woukdnt sign a new contract, now no one comes in he allegedly now wants to sign a nee contract - show him the door when his contract is up - jumped up little pr**k.

41.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 10:26:19
I didn't pick them Ed I put the question into Google and that's what came up. As I say I'm not doubting you I just thought I'd try to find out as I don't know either way.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is, even what they said isn't this nonsense about letting a contract expire meaning that any clause in a totally different contract will expire. You cannot just then go and re-sign the player and any clauses in their deal to sign for the club have just vanished. There are many examples of that not being allowed. I think the most obvious one was Gareth Barry re-signing for West Brom, even after a period out injured so it was months later that he rejoined them, but the Baggies still had to negotiate with Everton due to a clause in the original deal to sign him. There are two separate contracts, as I keep pointing out, when players move clubs.

1. The contract between the two clubs which is to transfer the player's registration. That can involve various clauses which can have time limits yes, but they cannot simply be dissolved by letting the player's contract expire. They are contracts between the two clubs.

2. Secondly there is the contract between the player and the club. It is separate and relates to the player's salary and bonuses while playing for the club.

They are separate contracts. Letting one expire does not mean the other does, in either case.}

42.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 11:19:44
Beale I don't get it lundstrum is ment to be the workhorse not skillfull player so how can he go off the boil as if to say it's skill getting stuck in and chasing everything is not form. related it's mentality related cantwell you see same work rate every game but form part depends on how game going.

Don't see lundstrum running as much as cantwell and for me that's the problem I'd play cantwell deeper hate seeing lundstrum taking ball of defender only to pass it back to defender then hide behind an opposing player.

Fair play to lundstrum in the Aberdeen game was stepping out with ball more

We have too many players that go sidewards and backwards before trying to turn or run forward.

43.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 11:25:28
I'm resigned to having Kent resign from his duties rather than re-sign for next season.

44.) 12 May 2023
11 May 2023 19:23:26
You having a laugh Lundstram is slower than a weekend in Barlinnie and is never Rangers class. Kent waste of Jersey. If these 2 sign a new contract, then we're a laughingstock and have no money to spend. Kent couldn't lace Jota's boots.

We need rid of these players. They're not good enough. I could count on one hand how many good games Kent or Lundstram has had this season. Hope this is a windup or I will be Raging ?.

45.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 13:15:22
Even if we are rebuilding or freshening up the squad we do have to keep some players or should we get rid of them all and make 24 new signings.

46.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 15:16:56
So didn't he try the same after he is established in our team gofor? common man surely you can't believe that.

47.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 16:53:17
Lundstram is far away from what we need. Take a fee for him and move on to a more athletic player. English div 1 level player.

48.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 19:42:42
Sorry Beale what do you mean?

All I was saying is lundstrums work rate goes up and down depending on how big the game.

that tells me his attitude is not right and Sheffield fans apparently accused him of the same thing.

Watch him next game he actually slows down our midfield and for me the odd shot here and there not enough to warrant a rangers start.

For me he's behind jack cantwell raskin and now we are going to have more competition in midfield and he's in his final year of contract he should be sold or we will have another. walking away for nothing situation.

He already stated only reason he came to rangers was to play under Gerrard sorry but I think it's a cert he walks for nothing.

49.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 22:30:54
GOFOR agree mate. Based on ability and discussions on here Raskin, Tillman and Cantwell should have been our new vision of a midfield. Tillman and Cantwell play to forward for my liking. I would have been happy with that midfield. But we played Tillman in the wrong position. Lundstrum is slow and his distribution is slow. If Jack is fit he starts first.

50.) 12 May 2023
12 May 2023 22:37:44
4 ever sell him and keep arfield and jack.

51.) 14 May 2023
12 May 2023 22:53:04
Kent seems to have more lives than a cat for some fans! He's had far too many chances to prove he can deliver on a regular basis. His stats are awful. Time to go.

52.) 14 May 2023
13 May 2023 12:43:30
Must admit I really hope this is nonesense.

Run out of patience with Kent, he is not even close to being consistent enough to be offered a large contract.

Believe if he gets a bumper deal it will prove to be Beales biggest mistake and can see it being his downfall as he seems to have a blind spot when it comes to Kent.

Lunny has been ok at best and we should punt to championship team for a million or two. Definitely not worth an extension.
