Hearing this morning that the board are going all out to bring Paul Mitchell in as sporting director over the international break he recently worked with P C at Monaco and is highly thought of in Europe I have no knowledge of dofs or sporting directors so don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing but if it's between him and wee Robbo I'll take him.

Nat Phillips is a wonderful CB who has held his own against top class players and is at a very good age. Liverpool are open to letting him go depending on offers. Sadly, I don’t think there is any chance he’s coming to Rangers given the transfer fee he could command, and the wages he's currently on.

Does anyone on here know about contracts I'm sure I read that Goldson ran down his contract became a free agent then signed a new contract so we didn't have to give Brighton a fee could this be why Alfie and Kent haven't signed yet.

That's exactly why they haven't signed yet. No contract, no fee, no negotiation as to future conditions, contract. There free to walk out and walk in elsewhere next day if they have somewhere to go tho looking less likely for El Buff. Maybe chickens roosting as they say. Personally, I think Shankland would be a good signing for the league when you think about the balls Tav and Borna whip into the box Shankland would eat them up all day long my fear would be that in Europe where we don't have as much of the ball he's like Boydy and mostly a passenger.

I was told this in work last week but it was right after his interview so just thought it was a load of bull. Neve gave it a second thought however I did get into a debate with a couple of the guys talking about it that were saying stuff like he's got his demons forget it to much wages etc etc made me think how many people sat and said the same about Paul Gascoigne when we signed him and look how that turned out sometimes a footballer will lose his way and come to a club like Rangers and fall in love with the game again if there's not crippling wage demands I would take a punt on him.

I was told a few months back Kent is doing a Goldson running down his contract and re-signing on the 1st July as a free. With Goldson if he signed a new deal we would have to include a sell on fee and pay Brighton £750000 I was led to believe its similar to the deal we have with liverpool if Kent signs a new contract I don't know how much truth there is in it guess time will tell.
