John Eustace now the skybet favourite for the mangers job.

Thoughts?

What kind of manager is he?

Looks like we’ve giving up, I feel as lost now as a rangers supporter as I did in 2012.

2.) 09 Oct 2023 09:55:00
This is mostly based I think on rumours Rooney is going to be taking over at Birmingham. I don’t see eustace getting the job.

3.) 09 Oct 2023 09:55:28
The wrong manager.

4.) 09 Oct 2023 10:32:23
Eustace spoke to Bisgrove, my understanding not going to be taken forward.

5.) 09 Oct 2023 10:59:51
I see Eustace has just been sacked by Birmingham.

6.) 09 Oct 2023 12:29:39
One of the biggest issues for our team is the number of touches our players take, especially the back 4.
We play and look out best when touches are kept to a min.
It's no secret teams sit on against us and that's why you need minimal touches and quicker forward passing to break these teams down.

7.) 09 Oct 2023 12:52:11
John how sure are you Eustice won't get the job.

8.) 09 Oct 2023 18:05:35
Pretty sure Walter but stranger things have happened.

More of a suggestion than a rumour.

What about Andros Townsend? Wide player with pace. Free agent. Something we don’t have right now at all.

Kinghenry55

1.) 27 Sep 2023 15:42:36
When was the last time we brought in a free agent outwith the window. These guys aren't fit enough and injury record is a concern that's why they don't get picked up readily.

2.) 27 Sep 2023 16:11:40
It would be completely pointless because a huge portion of the support are waiting for a bad result so the manager can be sacked. The next manager, or interim manager, may not like the players we have. He may want to bring in his own guys. It could end up being another rebuild and that can’t really happen to next summer.

Nothing will happen until we see where this goes under, Beale.

3.) 27 Sep 2023 16:48:00
Jzer think that's simply not true even our own Morelos was snapped up after euro window and he was apparently fitter then than ever was at rangers ?

Typical eh!

There is a difference in fitness and match fit right enough manager often have to decide if the two weeks it might take to get a player up to speed is worth it compared to promoting someone already at the club

I would definitely use free market nothing stopping you. imviting a player to train with squad to see if they are worth a deal.

4.) 27 sep 2023 17:30:12
you don't add to your pay list when you have an abundance of players in every position, yiu don't bring someone in to train with players who you may be intending to replace with, rangers have more than enough players and a good back up squad,

5.) 27 Sep 2023 18:20:33
Great option was thinking about that today weirdly enough, He’s training with Spurs ATM.

6.) 27 sep 2023 19:55:12
verdant. you appear to contradict yourself very often, one post talking about " some movement in the transfer market " other posts warning of the danger of another rebuild, you are definitely at ut my son. nobody could possibly talk about a 70% win rate while losing everything

naĥhh, your at it.

7.) 27 Sep 2023 20:53:38
TomT I agree. Guys at it ?.

Les Ferdinand steps down as DOF at QPR after 6 years.

Possible he’s coming to join Beale again? Fresh challenge.

Kinghenry55

1.) 16 Jun 2023 13:37:10
Hope not as I'm a traditionalist and believe the manager should be the man along with a scouting network to make the decision as he then has to live or die by his own decision to get this or that player and there can be no excuses if it doesn't work out and no interference from above regarding players leaving or being brought in depending on what the gaffers thinking is.

2.) 16 Jun 2023 13:47:37
Sincerely hope not. I don’t think he has a proven track record to justify getting the job at rangers.
I’d much prefer someone with premier league or European pedigree.

3.) 16 Jun 2023 13:54:52
Not a chance.

4.) 16 Jun 2023 15:03:10
Paul Mitchell was always my first choice as our new director of football, once ross wilson left?Big davie weir and christian nerlinger i'd also hope for if we couldn't get Mitchell ?.

5.) 16 Jun 2023 17:11:14
Getting Mitchell In would be a coup. very highly thought of.

6.) 16 Jun 2023 17:24:25
Absolutely agree ave ready.

7.) 16 Jun 2023 18:05:12
Les Ferdinand. there's a blast from the past, now he was a player.
Not many like him these days.

8.) 16 Jun 2023 21:57:39
Be better of with franz Ferdinand, I hate dof.

Sorry to gatecrash any current discussions. Re introducing myself as been off this since Gio left.

Unsure if you guys remember, but I was a big advocate of Gio being given more time and for him to get a transfer window. I felt it was the playing staff largely to blame for underperforming and that better players playing under his style would excel.

Anyway, in hindsight, I am very happy with Michael beale and I believe the best thing that’s happened for us is to be shot of the failing system that Ross wilson had implementated. I think under any manager, wilson was tying their hands and not letting a manager have a fair shot.

Was sad for Gio. A hero oh mine growing up. Was a classy guy. But wasn’t meant to be.

Fully behind Beale. I give every manager my full support.

His signings excite me although I am reading here a lot of uncertainty.

I wouldn’t worry about stats too much as you need to look at what clubs players like lammers and Dessers have been plying at. Relegation battling teams who spend most of their time banked in their own half. Could have ronaldo up top and he won’t score if not getting the chances created.

I would like to think Beale uses more research than Wikipedia and transfermarket. com to find out about players.

We must trust that Beale knows more than us lol and is selecting players based on how they can fit into his different systems.

I would also like to comment on some beliefs on here that a player in their early 30s is a poor investment.

Modern day players playing into mid to late 30s quite comfortably now. Players peaking at 30 where as it used to be mid to late 20s.

Dessers for example will have 5-7 good years left. What he does have is maturity and experience which will only add strength to our team.

Not every player will be signed for sell on value. We also need players for the instant impact. Who don’t need 2/ 3,years of development and cup appearances and loans.

Excited to see that beales team looks likely to have lots of variety with 3 at the back, wing backs, and two up top all looking like options now.

Exciting times.

Like the positivity mate but when players are linked were bound to look them up and wonder if they any good. And for the most part I'm excited too. Concern with Lammers is not just last season in poor team but whole career has been poor for a forward. At psv till 23 barely played, atalanta (not a relegation team) barely played or scored then put out on loan, frankfurt hardly played or scored, empoli ditched half way through years loan before being relegated at sampdoria so people saying hopefully we can turn him into a 10?

2.) 13 Jun 2023 10:17:20
Agreed, they downed tools on Gio, liked him as well.
Will trust Beale when he shows he can win the league off his own back.
That`s the immediate test at hand for him next season with a squad he`s assembled, no excuses.
Do we wish him well with the task at hand with his new signings? of course we do.

3.) 13 Jun 2023 10:56:18
Good luck but can’t see it happening. He’s out of his depth.

At this stage of his career why would he go to a smaller club, earn less money than he did at Man Utd, and not win any trophies or play in Europe? He’s not going to leave us unless it’s CRAZY money for club and for him. He’s already a multi millionaire. He’s playing week in week out. He’s going to play in Europe. He’s going to win trophies. Not a chance he’s thinking of leaving.

Scores and assists goals in a team that create much less chances than us. It’s a no brainer to sign him. No bedding in period needed. No getting used to the league. Tried and tested. At the peak of his powers right now. Not a project signing. A come in and now and do the business signing. Got to happen for me.
