Captain Tav I agree mate. People saying I want winners etc happy to pick up players like shankland barron etc and guys from Europe who have won absolutely NOTHING. Tav has won 3 trophies and was a baw hair away from a European trophy. Definitely should have won more but sick of this “need winners” argument because we ain’t going to be signing people with 10+ trophies on their cv.

Its the teams job to stop goals this isn't the 90s. You defend from the front. Tav is not as bad as people make it out, sterling has had absolute howlers at the back, so has Yilmaz yet are voided of all blame because they aren't Tav.

Hopefully the club will get a decent return from any prospective transfer.
Tav`s been good for us over the piece but like a few others, feel we have had his best years, may be best for both parties to part ways.
Connor`s consistency dropped last season so if the opportunity arises then by all means a move would probably be a good option as well.
We`ll be fine going forward, hoping for a new dynamic style of play once the gaffer gets his men in.

Take away tavs goals and assists in the last 5 seasons we would be lucky to finish top 3, for his defensive frailties he makes up with it in and more with his goal contributions, massive loss in my opinion, I just wish we had played him rw and got a solid right back in.

Heard people saying before about moving Tav in to a central midfield position. Not sure how that would suit him tbh but would be worth a try if we kept him on. Ricksen was a RB and went in to the middle and was excellent. I do think he needs to step back as captain if he stays on though.

Truth is their isn't many Fulllbacks in the world that can defend that aren't CBs that play out wide. Robertson is probably your best shout. and Fullbacks will only get more and more attack minded.

If Tav goes and gets plenty of dosh fair play. While folk mosty agree he's not the best defender we need to replace his contribution in goals and assists and that will be extremely difficult. IMO we shoulda unburdened tav and just let him go forward, but can't change now.

James Tavernier was just nominated for Scotland’s PFA POTY award. He is still performing to a level that makes him one of the best in Scotland. He had the highest average match rating in the SPFL last season, 12 MOTM awards, the goals and assists are ridiculous, etc.
I think it would take a lot to move Tavernier (something like £5m) and I can’t see a club from Turkey paying that. Clubs from Turkey have been linked with our players for years but when do they ever bid anything? Most of our players go there on a free.

If we get a decent fee for Tav or Goldson i'd say they need to be moved on, but as far as it goes Tav has been an exceptional player and captain for this club over the years. few gers in recent times can match his vision, set pieces, stamina and match fitness even now with his pce dropping off he is a massive contributor going forward. He will be very hard to replace for a few million.

Tav has been a massive player for Rangers especially with his goals and assists, and only when he is not at Rangers will we as supporters really appreciate his value to the team.
Its a big IF wether he stays our leaves as every player is sellable but at the moment it’s media speculation.

JR problem is he is better at coming onto the ball as opposed to being Infront of play which is why he hasn't been played at RW. Someone said earlier CM and I agree he could do a job in there similar to Trent Alexander Arnold who also is a terrible defender. Tavs numbers are irreplaceable certainly from his position and he would be a huge loss but money talks and a big offer cannot be ignored.

TT12,to look at everything regarding james tavernier fairly and closely yes he has cost us goals and has defensive deficiencies mate, but which his modern day right back position he plays, his attributes far outweighs his defensive issues with ease imo ? Football is a team game and tav gets the blame of a lot of things defensively, even when it's not him to start with and we defend as a team ?A poster further up the thread here said where would we be without tav and that's correct imo ? We wouldn't have finished even second on most occasions, wouldn't have won the league cup and wouldn't have done as well in europe most times, if it hadn't been for tav and his contributions and that's all there for you to see ?On our fantastic run to the europa league final, we would have been nowhere near getting to that final, if it hadn't been for james tavernier and his outstanding contributions ? again not fabrication guys, have a look, as it's all there to see ?Like i said he gets a blame of a lot when it originally wasn't him at the start of the original mistake, that we lose a goal from, so common a bit of fairness here ?.

They scored 4 goals between them mate, because they were to busy doing there job "defending" they leave it to the guys brought to there club to score goals, while they do what they were brought to the club for defend goals. Any stream involving Tav has more nay's than yay's, but the nay's say the yay's don't understand modern FB's, go figure, think the majority of posters on here know enough to form an opinion of the difference in defensive performance standards in our team.
